The ball itself is great with one exception. The weight. I should have specified a higher ounce when I asked for a 14 lb ball. After the drill the ball weight is less than 14 lbs. live and learn.

I'm very happy with my Black Widow by Hammer. It seems to me to it has more action on the oily lanes with less effort, but that just might be me. I'm still getting use to it. It's a good ball.

It was a great ball out of the box just what I wanted after using it for 6 months it lost all it's back end. Did everything detoxing, sanding helped some but after a game and a half it started to flatin out. Worse investment for me. Looking for something else.

I did my homework before buying the ball. Plus asked a gazillion people and they all told me the same thing. This is the ball to get. So I ordered it from Bowlersmart. I got the ball after waiting a little bit longer than anticipated due to wild fires out here in Cali, but they credited me my expedited charge and away I bowl. Finally jumped on the Black Widow train. Not disappointed at all. I’m only a 190 average bowler and I used it for the first time on Friday and had a 214, 208, 247 for a 669 series. Not bad for out of the box. Can’t wait to use it for Nationals at the end of the month.

If you're looking for hook in a box, this is it. With the current finish, this thing wants to hook in hand. Polish it up a bit if you're looking to get it down lane. There's no deflection once the ball makes it's turn.

At 12#, this ball still strikes like my 14#. I use it on the days when I have low energy and still have to bowl in league. I had my doubts that it would perform like my 14# bc of the weight block change, but it didn’t disappoint. It goes longer bc of the higher RG and lower Diff, but still hits like a Hammer! I think I’ll be surprising a lot of people when they find out I’m rolling 12#. This change will keep me in the game after I past my sixties and beyond. Sometimes you gotta think outside of the box and take a chance.

I had to go down in weight so I bought a ball I didn't know anything about. I struggled over a year and dropped my average by 15 pins because I couldn't control the curve. I was standing left of the last dots on the left side and still throwing Brooklyn. I gave up and researched balls and their cores. I am in love!! I was able to move back right and throw excellent pocket shots with great back end reaction. Highly recommend!

Bought this ball and used it for a few months as I was relearning and improving my game after a 20 year hiatus. Unfortunately I got caught up in a bunch of ball purchases over those few months and let this one slide to the back of the rack, where it sat for 10 months. Then, on a whim, for fun I pulled the 3.0 out on Halloween as it's colors matched my jersey, and proceeded that night to completely lose my mind. This ball was amazing that night, and has been ever since. Bowled 3 700+ series within three weeks, bowled my highest series and highest game ever with it, won the city tournament with it, and just can't say enough about it. This ball makes me feel like I'm in control, gives me the forgiveness I need, reads the lanes extremely well, and "hits like a hammer". My 3.0 is drilled 55x4x40, and provides plenty of hook for whatever situation I find myself in. Saw a few reviews of people hating it because it didn't work on their dry lanes. Yah, this ball is not meant for the dry-medium oil conditions, you need to use it on higher volume heavy/fresh conditions. After 4 straight weeks of pounding the lanes with it, I was convinced to build a BW bag, and now have the BW 2.0 Hybrid and BW Mania to go with it. Yah, looks like I found my match finally, and all 3 work awesome for my game through the transitions as they have different cover stocks, but the same core and RG/DIF. I recommend giving this ball a whirl for your game.
