My Swag Black Dragon Pearl is drilled 45x5x70 I cannot believe the control I have on this ball. It is versatile and predictable! I can't even explain in words how hard this ball goes through the pins. I had a guy about 6 lanes down ask me what the heck I was throwing at the pins because he can here it all the way down where he was. I telling you, get one and try it yourself. You will not be disappointed!
After the Black Dragon solid release in January, I was highly anticipating this release and it has not disappointed. I laid the ball out the same as my Dragon solid (pin above bridge and mass bias a couple inches right of my thumb toward my PAP) and the Dragon pearl is cleaner, a little more length down the lane but still the same powerful turn to the pocket I had fallen in love with. Pin carry is phenomenal, the motion is strong and predictable and control is easy. It’s a ball that can handle fresh oil conditions in the event that the Dragon solid is a bit too much or too early. It really handles the transition with ease and can either be the first ball out of the bag or an easy ball to step down to after the original Black Dragon. The Dragon Pearl is a beautiful color with the red/black swirl. Tremendous follow up release to the solid and one that should not be overlooked.
My Swag Black Dragon Pearl is drilled 45 x 5 x 70, and I still can’t believe the level of control this ball gives me. From the very first game, I noticed how versatile and predictable it is, making it a go-to option no matter how the lanes transition. The motion is smooth through the front, strong in the mid-lane, and the way it drives through the pins is simply incredible—it’s the kind of hit that makes you stop and stare. In fact, during one league night, a bowler six lanes down actually came over and asked me what I was throwing because he could hear the ball smashing the pins all the way from where he was. That’s the kind of power and continuation this ball delivers. The Black Dragon Pearl is more than hype—it’s performance you can feel and hear. Trust me, get one and see for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!
If you loved the Black Dragon, you will love the Black Dragon Pearl. It truly is a one two punch that you will need in your bag. Mine is drilled at 45x5x40 and I don't have to move when transitioning from the Black Dragon. If your house has low oil volume, then the Black Dragon Pearl will be the first ball out of your bag. It's really smooth off the hand and goes a bit longer than the original Black Dragon with the same power and continuation. Give this ball a try!!!!
Swag staffer, this ball is a definite must have in your bag really clean through the front part and finishes like a truck definitely my go to ball love everything about it
This is by far the best ball from Swag! It creates amazing angle from all parts of the lane with powerful back-end motion.
Exactly what I was looking for

It took me a while to figure out which layout I want to go with this ball... 65*35*5.... The New Dragon Pearl is a VERY special ball.... I truly at a loss of words right now because this ball is doing things I haven't seen since 2015 when it comes to ball reaction..... 5/5.... And this ball will never leave my bag..
This ball pairs so well with the Dragon Solid. Where the solid is very smooth and continuous, this pearl is lengthy and makes that turn at end. Its not a hard checkmark and thats what makes this ball so special, it's a pearl asym that gives you the length you want out of a pearl, but the controllable snap that many pearls lack.
60/4/30 Hook monster for a pearl. This ball I put my standard layout and man does this ball come off the spot. It has good length down lane and then rips off the down lane target. Compared to the solid, this ball hooks a lot more down lane and has a hockey stick shape. The colors define fire and the asymmetric core kicks in and hits like a fiery beast. Make sure to get you a Dragon shammy to clean the beast before each throw.
I was on the fence about this ball; I was looking at the Judge Pearl at the same time. I chose the Dragon (to be honest, for the colors). Told my PSO that I wanted a lot of backend with this one. He drilled it up and OMG I cannot be more impressed. This ball goes deep and the makes the hockey stick turn and carries so much energy through the pins. Put one in your hands and give it a try, I bet you will not be sorry. Thank you SWAG for this incredible ball.
My first Swag and the BDP shaped well for me throughout league. It didn’t over react and reacted decently when I missed my mark. Definitely senior friendly
Ball works well fits in my bag and first one out of it

If you are looking for that strong piece that allows you to crush the pocket from different angles, look no more. The Black Dragon Pearl allows experienced players to create different shapes and play different parts of the lane than so many other high end pieces have for me. I drilled mine at 50x 5 1/4x 30. It allows me to get through the heads with plenty of down lane jump. The asym core with the scorch Pearl coverstock pair well and this is a great 1-2 punch with the Black Dragon solid. If you’re considering it, do it! It is a great ball!
I bought this ball to compliment my Balck dragon. I drilled this ball75x5x50. On a house shot I find myself going to this ball in game three or when I see early friction. It will read the early friction and still be continuous thru the pins. Ona sport shot I find this ball to be really good on shorter patterns, or longer patterns with low volumes of oil. It allows me to attack the patterns using straight line strategies on the fresh and curve line strategies once the lane goes into deeper transition on a sport shot. Overall, this ball is very versatile and when used with the black dragon is a cant miss on any pattern
This ball is a versatile Beast, been throwing Swag for about 4 years total and this ball is it. Im a high rev and high speed bowler. Speed is around 18.5 and Rev rate of about 515 I like to start with my feet around 18 and play up the 8 to 12 board starting out. This ball is a must have.
When you talk about the new pearl Swag releases most people speak on the Apex, Judge, or Craze. I’m here to tell you that this Dragon should be in consideration for best ball out of the new releases. As a thumbless bowler this is acting as my benchmark and can typically use it all 3 games in a set. Reads the lanes wonderfully and provides that backend better than a lot of the newer ones I’ve thrown. Highly recommend you adding this to your bag. Currently using the Dragon pearl and solid as a 1-2 punch. Put some Swag in your bag!
The ball carries long and breaks strongly on the backend when drilled at 70x3.5x35. It varies from person to person, but that movement is preferable in most conditions and keeps the ball on a predictable line while not sacrificing backend.
Greetings, I have the privilege of representing Swag. Can you say hook? This one need’s head oil and room. It will produce a massive flare. Compared to the solid the breakpoint is sharper and more defined. The layout I have (70 x 4 x 20) give’s mine a very violent move. I don’t start with this one but if I am on a shot that starts right and then starts to move in this ball is perfect. Of course I am speaking from what I have used this on. What I can say with a definite is that this is a strong ball. With the solid you had a strong continuous hook on the backend. This one adds more flare with a little more length and more turn when it does. I would call this ball very fast. When it transitions from skid to flip it doesn’t lose speed to the pocket. This maybe too strong for league unless this is a high-volume oil house. It’s great for tournaments especially sport patterns out the box. Definitely longer oil patterns.
The Swag Black Dragon Pearl is part of Swags Superior Performance line. I have mine played out with pin up 45x4x45 with a box finish. On a tougher pattern this ball is more reliable from more angles.
I love this ball. it reads early and continues smoothly through the mid lane and attacks the backend! I have mine at 1000 grit finish, which gives me the consistent, predictable reaction that I need. I use it on both House and Sport shots without having to make any major adjustments. If you're looking for a ball that is smooth, Strong and predictable, and devastating on backend, the Black Dragon Pearl is definitely the you might want to consider adding to your bag!
Style: Right handed traditional one hander with 460 RPMs. The Swag Black Dragon Pearl is a heavy hitter. The hitting power and carry on this is ridiculous! This ball is super smooth off the spot. If you are looking for a smooth pearl ball that can cover some boards and hits like a truck, look no further because the Black Dragon Pearl will fulfill your needs! This is a perfect one two punch with the original Black Dragon.
I thought it was a Black Friday sale. I guess regular price is 160
HI,united states
I really love this ball on sport shot as i have it as a pin down layout. It clears through the fronts well and its smooth through the back end.
Obviously the pearled version of a solid SHOULD be a great compliment and this is exactly what this pearl is! A longer version of the solid, gets down lane and has a sharp backend motion…BUT not too sharp, still controllable
Middle aged guy here who has lower rotation. This ball loves little angle but can be played further left to straighter if needed. Normal pearly assyms sometimes has too much flip skid, this does not but will definately get u thru the oil. You wont be disappointed
Bought this for ny husband for Christmas. He was thrilled.

30 X 5.25 X 35 After having so much success with my SWAG Black Dragon Solid, I went with the exact same layout to compliment the Solid. I did crack the surface lightly with 1k to have it read a touch sooner. The Dragon Pearl gets down the lane about 2-3 foot later but sharper on the back end. If you love the Dragon Solid, you will not be disappointed. Colors look great gong down the lane.
As a staffer with SWAG Bowling, I’ve been blown away by how the original Black Dragon took off—it was constantly out of stock because bowlers couldn’t get enough of that powerful Dragon asymmetric core (2.48 RG, .054 diff, .018 mass bias) paired with the strong Scorch cover. It became a benchmark for control and hitting power on medium-heavy oil. Now, the Black Dragon Pearl takes it to the next level with the pearl version of the Scorch coverstock. From what we’ve seen in testing and hearing from customers drilling them up, this ball gives that same monster core but with cleaner length through the fronts and a sharper, more angular backend reaction. It’s incredibly versatile—speed-dominant players get the consistent flip they’ve been missing, balanced bowlers rave about the control and carry on heavier volumes, and even rev-dominant guys can open up angles without it burning up early. The bold black/red colorway with the Dragon logo looks killer in the bag too. If you loved the solid Black Dragon for fresh/heavy oil, the Pearl is the ideal step-down as things transition or when you need more recovery downlane. SWAG is absolutely crushing it with this Superior Performance Line—great performance at an unbeatable price point. Highly recommend grabbing one before they’re flying off shelves again!
PAP - 3 3/4” right, 1/2” up DAS - 50 x 4 x 30 I threw it on a a typical house shot, medium oil, league conditions. I’m more speed dominant, throwing about 15.5mph, with a medium rev rate. I typically play down-and-in, targeting between 5 and 15, depending on lane condition. The best way for me to explain its motion is to compare it to Black Dragon Solid, which for me is drilled 50 x 3 1/4 x 30. It is a perfect step-down from the Solid. The Pearl slid through where the Solid reacted, and offered more motion on the backend. For me, the Solid was rounder with more of a mid-lane read and offered more an arc-like motion. The Pearl, in contrast, saved more of its energy moving through the heads and made its turn (NOT in a hockey-stick motion) closer to the pins. Both balls deliver pin-crushing results.
This ball has turned out to be absolutely fantastic. Don't sleep. Go get yours today.
I love these swag balls and they were delivered promptly and perfect timing

Got it drilled and shot a 700 series out the box. Very impressed with the roll and tracking. Solid contact with pocket with lots of power. Simple destroys the pins with lots of pin action and determined carry. I would highly recommend this ball and am planning on getting another on with same specs.

From a performance standpoint, the SWAG Black Dragon Pearl is ideal for bowlers who want length through the front of the lane paired with a strong, defined move down lane. The polished SWAG Scorch Pearl cover allows the ball to clear the heads easily, even on fresher patterns with some volume, while still storing enough energy to create a decisive backend motion. This is the type of ball you pull out when you need angle and continuation without sacrificing control. What separates the Black Dragon Pearl from many mid-to-high performance pearls is the core dynamics. The SWAG Dragon asymmetric core promotes a quicker response once the ball encounters friction, but the motion remains readable rather than unpredictable. Instead of a sideways snap, the ball makes a strong, continuous move that keeps the pins low and drives through the pocket. For bowlers who like to move left (right-handed players) and open up the lane, the Black Dragon Pearl provides confidence that the ball will recover without overreacting. This ball excels on medium to medium-heavy oil, particularly as lanes begin to transition. Rev-dominant players will appreciate how the polished surface helps prevent early hook, while speed-dominant bowlers benefit from the core’s ability to create backend motion without forcing the ball. Misses to the friction tend to recover smoothly, and shots leaked into the oil don’t quit, making it a forgiving option for competitive league and tournament play. Bottom line: The SWAG Black Dragon Pearl is a powerful yet manageable pearl reactive that fits perfectly into the step-up role when you need more motion than a benchmark ball but don’t want an uncontrollable reaction. It’s built for bowlers who value strong backend continuation, reliable shape, and versatility across a variety of competitive lane conditions. Bowler Stats: RH, 340ish Revs, 16.5 mph ball speed avg.
Cory G. – SWAG Staff Member I am a right-handed, thumb-in bowler with a PAP of 5 5/8” over and 1” up, and my layout is 60 x 5 x 30. If you’re looking for a strong yet controllable pearl that provides length through the front part of the lane with a powerful move off the breakpoint, the SWAG Black Dragon Pearl is exactly the ball for the job. As a rev-dominant bowler, I sometimes struggle to get the ball to the break point consistently. The Black Dragon Pearl allows me to combat those issues with ease. I love using this ball on house shots with older lane beds and a lot of built-in friction, especially during mid-game sets. On sport or challenge shot conditions, the SWAG Black Dragon Pearl provides the control I need while still offering an aggressive backend motion that clears the pin deck and helps add strikes to your game.
Hello, Swag lovers this is new staff member Mark Pennewell here to celebrate with you all.The Black Dragon pearl is an amazing versatile ball that reads mid lane and continuously drives down lane. It’s a great complimentary ball to the OG Black Dragon when you want some extra movement down lane. Its pearl coverstock and great core make it a starter ball for any local house shot. You will see the results immediately adding this to your swag collection. In my eyes it’s a true benchmark ball for swag and will continuously fill a need in every bowlers bag.
First thought on the ball was how it looks. The logo caught my eye right away. I am a one hand 2 finger bowler so I struggle at times to find a ball good on fresh and the transition. Early in a set I was able to throw 15 to 5 and it was extremely smooth in the middle of the lane. At the break boards it has a arc back end to the pocket. Ones the lanes break down I can move to 30 and throw to 12 and it holds energy until the break. This ball will be good for someone looking for that ball you can use all 3 games on league night.
Great ball for my style of bowling. Very responsive and the ball is well balanced compared to my other asymmetric ball.
guam
As a 2-handed bowler with around 480 revs at 17 mph, the SWAG Black Dragon Pearl is exactly what I want when I need angle and continuation. This ball gets clean through the fronts, even as lanes start to transition, and absolutely unloads on the backend without being uncontrollable.
As a two-handed bowler with about 480 revs and 17 mph speed, the SWAG Black Dragon Pearl has quickly become one of my go-to balls. It gets super clean through the front part of the lane, which is huge for me, and still has plenty left for the backend. The motion downlane is strong but smooth, not flippy or unpredictable. I can move left, open my angles, and trust it to come back and keep driving through the pins. Carry has been very consistent, even on tougher shots. This ball really shines once the lanes start to transition and is an awesome step down from stronger pieces. Overall, it’s reliable, fun to throw, and performs exactly how a pearl should.
Was very hyped to see when this ball came out as a pearl version. This ball has not disappointed whatsoever. I'm a left-hander moderate rev rate around 375 but what I really love about this ball is it's versatility and be able to stand right and open up the lanes or move left and play up the boards straighter. This ball gives me an incredible variety of looks. Very excited to see the third generation releases coming out soon! SWAG has hit this one out of the ballpark!
The Black Dragon Pearl is a true statement piece when you need length, angle, and serious finishing power. For my game, at 50x4.25x30, it clears the fronts with ease and makes a bold, confident move once it sees friction. What stands out most is the continuation—the ball doesn’t just snap and stop, it drives hard through the pins and keeps everything low and tight. Even as the lanes transition, the Black Dragon Pearl stores energy extremely well and still turns the corner without feeling unpredictable. It’s a great option when you need more downlane motion than a benchmark pearl but still want control. When I need to open my angles slightly and trust the ball to finish strong, the Black Dragon Pearl delivers every time.
The Black Dragon Pearl is a very high performance bowling with a powerful backend reaction. If you are looking for a ball that suits medium to heavy oil, this would be the ball for it. I am a 2-handed right-handed bowler, and this ball is strong but does not have a wild unpredictable motion, which is great. With this ball being pearlized, it has a clean front lane read with amazing and consistent pin carry. If you're building an arsenal for league play or tournament play, this is a must have for heavier oil patterns. This ball is very appealing to you if you're looking for a ball with length through the fronts and a strong finishing move yet still stays controlled and predictable.
Swag Black Dragon Peral!! OMG!! This ball is fantastic! I've never brought any bowling ball twice. The black Dragon Pearl is the only one bowling ball that i was excited about drilling with two different layouts. My first was drilled pin down 35X4.5X70. The second one will be pin up, not decided on what layout that i will go with at the present time. This layout and ball is best during and after the transition. This ball is super clean with plenty of stored energy for the backend. I believe the Black Dragon solid and the Black Dragon Pearl is a Fantastic one two punch. The solid is great for fresh oil and the pearl is fantastic when the solid starts losing energy to the pocket. The black Dragons are part of the Swag superior performance line designed for medium to heavy oil conditions, this line sets new standards for speed dominant bowlers seeking consistent ball motion. If you have not tried out a Swag bowling ball? This one will be a great one to start with.
The Swag Dragon Pearl is a formidable addition to any arsenal, especially for those who bring significant heat and rotation to the lane. Featuring a polished pearl coverstock paired with a dynamic core, this ball offers a clean look through the front of the lane before unleashing a sharp, continuous motion at the breakpoint. As a high-speed, high-rev player, I found it incredibly predictable right out of the bag. It blends the pattern beautifully, making it a top-tier choice for house shots where you need to open up the angles. Surprisingly, its backend strength doesn't quit on longer sport patterns, providing the necessary recovery when the oil holds deep. It’s a versatile powerhouse that rewards aggressive play with explosive pin carry.
As a power player who is a bit of rev dominate, I recently was able to try the Swag Black Dragon Pearl and I just have to say, what a great experience! I could feel the difference when I first hit, in no small measure due to its creative Dragon core. With a 2.48 RG and a .054 differential, it absolutely packs a punch and provides me with that bit of extra kick when hitting instead of merely throwing things in a safe place. The actual fun of this ball is its performance. I’ve tried a few of those pricier offerings in the previous but I do hold the Swag Black Dragon Pearl high. The Scorch Pearl coverstock provides a smoothness that helps with those difficult lane conditions. It runs pretty smoothly through the front with fairly little friction, but still sticks well at the back. I have seen more predictable strikes and better overall scores since I got started. It’s comfortable to grip in my hand and the weight balance lends itself to a pretty even throw, and that’s definitely a source of confidence in my lane. Look for a ball that doesn’t break the bank while still performing like a tournament ball, and I would encourage you to see whether you can get some swag (the new Swag Black Dragon Pearl). It’s really quickly become my go-to!
This ball is nothing short of amazing. From the moment you see it on the rack, the shelf appeal is unreal. The Dragon Pearl turns heads everywhere it goes, and I constantly get compliments before I even throw the first shot. As a long-time Motiv and Storm bowler, I’ve rolled a lot of great equipment over the years—but this ball stands right with them, and honestly, may even surpass some of the best I’ve owned. It delivers a perfect blend of length, pop, and consistency that gives you confidence every time you step up. On the lanes, it’s a true hidden diamond: Clean through the front, Strong, readable backend, Predictable motion you can trust. Excellent carry and continuation If you’re looking for a ball that performs and looks incredible doing it, this is it. If you don’t have the Dragon Pearl in your arsenal yet, you’re missing out.
As a SWAG staffer, I’ve had the chance to throw just about every release the brand has offered, and the Black Dragon Pearl might be the best SWAG ball to date. Out of the box, it showed a strong midlane read with plenty of backend shape, but after I changed the surface to 2000 grit, the ball became something special. It’s incredibly continuous through the pins and hard‑charging off the spot without losing control or over‑flaring in transition. This piece has been a standout performer in testing across a variety of medium to heavy oil patterns. The Black Dragon Pearl blends power and predictability, letting me stay in the same zone longer as the lanes break down. It clears the heads with ease yet stores plenty of energy to drive through the pin deck consistently. The cover and core combination make this ball one of the most versatile I’ve thrown in the SWAG lineup. Its motion is both readable and explosive—exactly what competitive bowlers need when carry percentage matters. No question about it—this one’s making my tournament bag for sure. SWAG really hit a home run with the Black Dragon Pearl.
Works amazing for people who throw fast with low revs I throw around 16 to 18 mph and it still has strong back end when I slow it down a little to around 15 to 16 mph. Highly recommend it.

The Black Dragon Pearl is that ball I go to when I’m ready to open the lane up and let it fly. This one gets through the fronts EASY. I’m talking clean, no early grab, no burn up. It stores that energy and waits… and when it sees friction? It turns the corner HARD. But what I love most is it’s not just sideways. It’s clean with continuation. It makes that sharp move but keeps driving through the pins instead of rolling out. When transition hits and my solids start reading too early, this is the move. I can slide left, create angle, and trust it to recover without quitting on me. Miss it a little right? It comes back. Tug it a touch? It holds enough to stay in play. On house shots, this thing is dangerous. On medium patterns, it lets me stay aggressive. The hit is loud too. Pins stay low, messengers fly, and when I catch it flush? It’s automatic. For me, Black Dragon Pearl is the go-get-it ball. The one I pull out when I’m ready to strike in bunches. Clean. Sharp. Continuous. That’s how I like it.
The black dragon pearl is a smooth predictable continuous arching ball. Ball gets down lane nicely, hits the brake point and drives through the pocket.
This is a asym pearl that is strong this ball hooks and has a very nice continuous shape with a smooth arch shape reads the midlane very well and does not roll out like other asym balls! Go get yours today!
Wasn't expecting much from this ball, not a big fan of pearls, but this ball genuinely surprised me. Very clean through the front part of lane and reads the backend like a monster. Layout I went with on it was 70x3.5x25 making it a great transition piece for me personally, and its the only pearl to make my bag. You will definitely love this ball and all it has to offer, #teaamswag
The Black Dragon Pearl from SWAG has quickly become one of the most versatile pieces in my bag. This ball gives me a strong backend reaction without being overly aggressive or uncontrollable. It clears the fronts clean, stores plenty of energy, and absolutely responds when it sees friction. What I love most is how predictable it is I can trust it to make the corner without jumping off the spot. The versatility really stands out. I can play it straighter and let it shape, or move in and open up my angles when the lanes start to transition. It doesn’t quit downlane, and it keeps the pins low when it drives through the pocket. Performance-wise, it speaks for itself. I’ve shot a 299 and a couple of 279 games with it already. The carry is impressive sometimes almost too impressive because I’ve left more 9 pins with this ball than I can count. It hits that strong! If you’re looking for a pearl that blends power and control while still giving you that strong backend motion, the Black Dragon Pearl is a serious weapon. Definitely a standout in the SWAG lineup.
The Swag Dragon Pearl is a clean and explosive pearl that really shines when the lanes start to open up. It glides effortlessly through the heads, storing plenty of energy before making a sharp, confident move downlane. The pearl coverstock creates excellent length without feeling uncontrollable, making it ideal for medium oil conditions or when you need something to get through transition. What stands out most is the continuation through the pins. The Dragon Pearl drives hard and keeps going, creating impressive carry and strong entry angles. Whether you’re looking to open up the lane or need a reliable step-down option, this ball delivers versatility, pop, and eye-catching performance.
The SWAG Black Dragon Pearl has earned its spot. Smooth, predictable, and controllable, it gives me the versatility I trust when it matters. This one never leaves my bag. What really sets the Black Dragon Pearl apart is how readable it is off the lane. It clears the front with ease, blends the midlane smoothly, and gives a strong but controlled backend motion that doesn’t jump or quit. When the lanes start to transition or I need something that lets me stay in play longer without overreacting, this ball shines. It’s dependable, versatile, and confidence-building—exactly what you want when strikes matter most.
Got to say I'm gonna love this bowling ball. When my Swag Black Dragon starts hooking too much this is the go to ball as advertised. When the lanes transition and I have moved left as far as I can for me, the Black Dragon Pearl is the perfect ball to be next out of my bag. it gives me the added length I need with plenty of snap on the back end to go thru the pins correctly. The Black Dragon Pearl just explodes the pocket. Its makes for a great one-two punch. I love how this asymmetrical core mimics a symmetrical core which keeps this ball super controllable for me. Hoping to see more balls in the future with these designs.
I was expecting this ball to be a very backend heavy ball with a distinct hockey stick shape, but was pleasantly surprised when i threw it. It definitely can shape on the backend, but i find that its actually works better for a with the shine knocked off. After that it really started to show its versatility. I prefered it as a game 2 ball when the transition started, but had success with it game one on lower volume houses. It a pearl so it clears fronts pretty cleanly but after the surface change what was really nice was how well it stood up at the friction. The ball wanted to run the pins over. Beautiful red and black coverstock will turn heads in the rack, shape and power to turn heads on the lanes. What more could you ask for in a ball? Get yourself one.
The dragon pearl is a great ball you can start the night with it or you can use it in transition I have used it both it also works great late in to a long tournament I have it drilled 45x5x25 it comes in good down lane it rolls up smooth with little skid I have high rev and I have thrown this ball down and in and I’ve also swang it out and it rolls in to the pocket and hits hard It has great pin carry and I have used it on sport shot many times and it still moves strong in conclusion this pearl is a strong ball and fits many different styles of bowlers
The Swag Black Dragon Pearl is the perfect complement to my Black Dragon Solid. Where the solid version is an absolute oil monster, the Pearl gives me that same strong feel with a cleaner, more responsive motion downlane. This is my go-to transition piece when the Black Dragon Solid starts to read too early or becomes a little too much as the lanes break down. The Pearl gets through the fronts noticeably cleaner, stores more energy, and gives me a sharper move off the spot without being uncontrollable. It’s strong, but it’s not lazy. What I really like is how seamless the move is between the two. I don’t feel like I’m changing ball reactions drastically — I’m just getting more length and a stronger backend shape when I need it. When i need something for transition or medium-to-heavy conditions as they open up, the Black Dragon Pearl is go to for me. It’s clean, powerful, and incredibly dependable
I'm a right handed bowler with 14.5 - 15.5 ball speed and 320 - 350 Rev rate. I throw 14 lbs. My average is 210. The Dragon Pearl has become one of my go to balls for fresh conditions at my home center. I knocked the shine off mine slightly and have it between 4000 and 4500 sanded. I’m still able to get plenty of length because of the pearl coverstock, but the sanded surface allows the ball to grab the lane on fresh conditions. If I was on slightly drier conditions polish on the ball would give me the length I needed on fresh. What surprised me the most about this ball is that it doesn’t react like pearl balls usually do for me. I’m used to pearl balls being too angular for me to really have much use for, but the Dragon Pearl and other pearl balls from Swag haven’t been super snappy for me. They have more backend pop than the solid variant, but they still stay smooth and continuous. This motion allows me to have more use for the pearls than I have been able to find with other brands.
The best way to describe this ball’s motion when I’m throwing it is, hockey banana stick haha. This ball is earlier than I expected yet clears the heads pretty easily. Let me explain, this ball can be used in late transition with how clean it floats through the first 20 feet, early transition because it has the teeth to pick up in the midlane once I start to get left of 28, and enough of a violent flip to have the needed entry angle when standing way left. SWAG is revealing their ability to provide top tier reaction without overpricing equipment time and time again. This isn’t a skid flip snappy ball by any means, with a higher rev rate, I actually tend to avoid that ball motion. This ball allows me to get left and yam on it at the bottom without worrying about the ball blowing through the spot and washing out. Think smooth drift before hitting the boost button haha. DON’T SLEEP ON SWAG
