Storm Equinox Hybrid

The Equinox Hybrid gives me a great combination of traction and continuation, and it may be the most useful and versatile Equinox yet. It reads the midlane consistently, handles a good amount of oil, and still gives me a strong, continuous move through the pins. I really like how many different situations I can use it in, whether I need to blend out the lane, move inside, or just find a reliable shape on a variety of conditions. It’s a dependable piece that gives me control, power, and versatility, making it an easy ball to keep in the bag.

Works great but had bubble spots and the storm sign wasn’t completely white

I love this ball! I like the scent it’s infused with, the feel of the ball is amazing and the reaction I’ve seen it have on the lanes is mind blowing. My first game with this ball was a 258. My normal average is around 164. For me this was such a good purchase

The Equiniox Hybrid might honestly be my favorite Equinox out of the series. Not only does it have my favorite scent Orange Creamsicle, the ball is so clean through the front part of the lane and not too crazy on the backend of the pattern. I have been able to use this ball mainly for transition in game 2 and then using it fully game 3. Now when I subbed at one of the other centers in the area, I was able to use this ball for almost 3 full games. For me it seems to work well when there is a little bit more friction to the outside part of the lane. I can move right with more ball speed and this ball just drives through the pins.

Introducing the Equinox Hybrid, the third of its series. This ball has the same core as the Equinox Pearl and Solid, but this hybrid version makes the motion so user friendly. This ball is suitable for all house shots and is very versatile. The layout I have on mine is 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 x 2 (60 x 4 3/4 x 30 using the dual angle layout). I tested this ball in a different center and wanted to see how it will react. This motion gave me great length through the head with a nice continuous motion through the pins. Factory Finish: Power Edge Storm has taken the popular Equinox platform and gives us the new Storm Equinox Hybrid. This is the first Equinox for me to throw so I cannot give any comparisons to the previous Equinox balls. After throwing it, the first thing that stands out is just how usable this ball is. It gives me plenty of traction in the oil without sacrificing the energy and continuation. The backend is where the Equinox really shows up. The backend isn't simply "violent" for the sake of being violent but it is strong and continuous. When the ball gets to the breakpoint, it responds with authority and continues through the pins rather than simply making a sharp move and quitting. It's strong enough to get through the oil while still giving you options at the breakpoint. The biggest compliment I can give the Equinox Hybrid is it is a big ball that doesn't feel like you have to stop using it after the first transition. If you're looking for a piece that can handle volume, create plenty of shape, and still give you room to move as the lanes transition, the Equinox Hybrid deserves a serious look. Thanks, Mike Walker

This is by far the best Equinox for me. The Hybrid has the best of both worlds all rolled up into one. It's an out of the box box ball. First game, second game, and depends on the oil out there, even the 3rd game. The Transform hooks more, a little earlier and a little more on the back end, and the Next Factor hooks less for me, it goes longer but still has the back end, so it fits into my bag very well. The Equinox Hybrid rolls extremely well, and I like it a lot. It reads the mid lane very well and it tells you to move if you need to. The back end motion is really good as well. Equinox was known as the "league" bowling ball, and the New Hybrid is making it happen for me. I'm glad Storm made this ball to fit in for me and it certainly makes me happy.

The Equinox Hybrid features the Solarion A.I. Core with an RG of 2.47, Differential of 0.054, and Intermediate Differential of 0.016, wrapped in the A2S Hybrid Cover with a Power Edge factory finish. The first thing I noticed was how clean it gets through the front of the lane without giving up traction in the midlane. With my higher rev rate, I need a ball that doesn't read too early or burn up all its energy before getting to the pocket, and this ball does a great job of maintaining that energy. Once it gets to the breakpoint, it makes a strong, continuous move without feeling overly jumpy. Compared to the Equinox Solid, the Hybrid is noticeably cleaner through the front and saves more energy for the backend. The Solid is much earlier and is a great option for fresh oil, but what I really like about the Hybrid is that it complements the Solid perfectly. I can make the switch from the Solid to the Hybrid and continue playing the same part of the lane without having to completely change my look or ball motion. That versatility is what really makes the Equinox Hybrid stand out for me. As the lanes start to transition and the Solid begins reading a little too early, I can go to the Hybrid, stay in the same area of the lane, and get the extra length and recovery I need without losing continuation through the pins. With my higher rev rate, I really appreciate having that option because I can move inside or create more ball speed while still getting the ball through the front cleanly. The Hybrid gives me plenty of recovery when I miss a little inside or get the ball farther right, while still making a strong, continuous move through the pins. For me, the Equinox Solid and Equinox Hybrid make a great one-two combination—the Solid gives me the traction and control I want on the fresh, and when the lane starts to transition, I can go to the Hybrid and keep playing the same part of the lane while getting more length and down-lane motion. That's the kind of versatility I really look for in my equipment.

Good ball, longer than a lot of my balls but still reads the midlane good with an angular move on the backend. Hits like a truck with the amount of midlane it has. Good house shot ball or even a tournament ball that you need to move left on.
