What the Specs Tell Us
The SWAG Scorch Hybrid AP26 coverstock blends midlane read with backend continuation — a balanced approach that works across a range of patterns. With an RG of 2.49 and a .050 differential, this core revs up earlier for a stronger midlane read with strong flare potential that creates an aggressive ball motion. Designed for heavy oil, this ball has the surface and core combination to handle the volume and still make a move to the pocket.

The Black Dragon Hybrid has quickly become one of my favorite pieces in my tournament arsenal. It gives me the perfect blend of strong mid-lane read with a powerful, continuous backend motion without feeling jumpy or unpredictable. What really stands out is how well it handles medium to heavier oil patterns. It reads the lane early enough to keep me out of trouble, but it never quits through the pins. When I need something stronger than a pearl but cleaner than a solid, this ball is exactly what I reach for. The Dragon Asymmetric core paired with the Scorch Hybrid AP26 cover creates a motion that is smooth, controllable, and incredibly forgiving. Carry has been excellent, and the continuation through the deck gives me confidence even when my shot isn’t absolutely perfect. If you’re looking for a benchmark asymmetrical hybrid that can bridge the gap between your strongest solids and cleaner pearls, the Black Dragon Hybrid deserves a serious look. It has earned a permanent spot in my tournament bag. Another outstanding release by SWAG Bowling!
The Black Dragon Hybrid is a ball that I've been waiting on! It completes the Dragon line. I have the Black Dragon solid and the Black Dragon pearl. The Black Dragon solid is the first ball out of the bag. It is a great heavy oil ball and i have it drilled 60X4.25X25. My Black Dragon pearl is drilled pin down 35X4.5X70 which is great for the burn for me. Now having the Black Dragon hybrid with Swag new cover stock additive AP26 this will be my transition ball and i have it drilled 50x4.25X25. Swag new cover stock AP26 is a game changer! It gives you cleaner motion thru the fronts with lanes getting older and having so much friction and stores the energy for the backend were you want to see the pop towards the pocket.
Good afternoon everyone. My name is Ron. Swag bowling has done it again with this ball. They have shocked the bowling world again. This ball is a absolute monster. It starts up alittle early but is very clean threw the front and very continuous all the way threw the pin deck. It is a very versatile ball, You can play alittle straight with the to start, but as the lanes start to transition, you can move left and still hit the pocket. This ball is a must have in every bowlers arsenal. I had mine laid out 45 × 4 3/4 ×30. This brand new scortch AP26 cover stock, combined with the 1500 grit out of box. This ball will eat up oil.
