Bowlers Say

Bowlers say The Spy is an excellent textured polyester spare ball with the Incognito core that provides more hit than typical plastic balls. It excels on dry lanes and burned-up conditions, allowing straighter lines while still generating backend hook and pin carry. Rev-dominant and slower speed players particularly praise its controlled reaction.

The Spy is as advertised. It is a spare ball with a little punch. I drilled mine 50x 3 3/4x25 This layout gave me about 6.5’ of track flare. I was able to play in the dry in the out of box condition and it hook and hit with the authority of an asymmetrical. I sanded it to 1000 grit and I needed to move in a bit and it still hit. I intend to use this ball to practice with. It will force me to make quality shot in order to have it hit. It will refine my focus.

Bowler Stats: PAP 4 over 3/4 up, 18 degrees tilt, 275 revs, 14.5 mph The Spy is designed for very light oil conditions and is the perfect choice to ball down to if your Counter Attacks are hooking too much or to start with if you know you will be on a light oil pattern. I drilled mine 45x4.25x30. If you are a low-speed player and dealing with dry lanes and everything is hooking too much, this would be a great addition as it will not be jumpy on the backend like even the least hooking pearl ball can be, and it will still give you plenty of length through the fronts. Higher rev players will have no problem making this ball move on a fresh house shot, whereas I did need to add some surface to get what movement I did. This a great ball to add to your arsenal if you are looking to keep your angles closed on dry lanes or to an extent, a fresh light-medium pattern depending on your rev rate.

Textured polyester, wrapped around the popular Incognito core. A ball that can free up a space in your bag, because it’s a “spare ball” that revs, flares and literally runs over a rack! I was impressed. On a pair that was oiled 24 hours prior and no one had bowled on, I thought I’d be 4-5 boards left (I’m a southpaw) of where I was at the arrows with this piece. HIGHLY impressed. If you’re in the market for a spare ball or a ball that can exploit extremely dry lanes - or an extremely dry part of the lane - give it a serious look.

This textured plastic ball with the Incognito core is great when you’re on dryer lanes, or when you just want to play a lot straighter. Even though a plastic surface the core and texture give this ball the ability to still hook on the back end and still drive through the pins.

Haven't thrown in enough due to time and fitting isssues but its a great ball if you know what kind of lanes you're throwing it on. Dry lanes it'll hook a bit so you can play it straight 2nd or 3rd arrow. Light-Heavy it'll end up being a spare ball so its has its variety of use. Worth a try.

I bought this ball for the main reason that I have a slow ball speed due to bad knees. I got the 14# so I could throw it a little harder and I also throw 2 handed. At one point in our summer league I bowled 13 out of 15 games over 200 with a 714 and 699 series. I highly recommend it as I am a little older and just can’t get the speed on it anymore (right around 14 mph).Absolutely love it.

I don't usually give too much credit to a ball, but this one is going to make a big difference. My speed is slow, and inconsistent. Bowl on wood lanes, 77 years old. Consistently able to maintain over 12 MPH, and it doesn't hook on oil at all. I can tug it a little, and still not miss left.

Just picked mine up today. Bowled 3 games right out of the box. I'm a one handed righty, rev dominant (about 375 revs, 15 mph), 179 avg. I only bowling in one league, low volume 43 ft house pattern, older synthetic lanes. My other balls are a Hammer Cherry Vibe and the blue/black Rhino pearl. Plus a White Dot for spares. With the Vibe, on the fresh, I usually stand on 30, throw over 3rd arrow and then move left as The lanes transition. Sonetimes balling down to the Rhino just isn't enough (To be fair, the furthest left I stand is 35. Can't seem to get further left with reliable form and accuracy, working on that). The lanes are usually pretty burned up halfway through the 2nd game. Last week (and in practice) I felt that I had to use my White Dot to get to the pocket...but... it's a White Dot. Plastic, no core, very weak in the pocket. I was afraid even the weakest resin like a Twist or a Mix would just be too close to my Rhino so those didn't make sense to me. Bowled today on a lane that was used the night before, so pretty burned up. I was able to stand on 22 board, target 8 at the arrows with a breakpoint around 4 board. That's closer to the gutter than I am usually comfortable with (I have accuracy issues, lol) and the ball walked into the pocket with enough power to clear the deck cleanly. I almost never target right of 3rd arrow. It wasn't exciting to watch (smooth, predictable arc), but it was effective. Bowled 161, 174 and finally a 213 once I found my line with this ball. In theory, I should be able to shoot (and pretty much maintain) that line on the fresh house shot since there's little to no oil out there anyway. When I try that with my White Dot, I end up with a lot of 10 pins. Playing that same line today with the other balls all crossed the headpin and landed on the pins at 25 and 30 boards. So this is a good 8-13 boards right of both of those. Very happy with this ball. It's doing everything I hoped it would do so far.
