Refined heavy oil asymmetric that prioritizes control over raw hook. Trustworthy on heavier patterns at $194.95. Video inside.
[Music] CEO Ronald Dickler from Creating the Difference. Today we're going to talk about the brand new Radical Guru Oracle. This ball features HK22C solid cover stock. So that means it smells like oranges. Has the Guru asymmetrical core shape in it with an RG of 2.503, a differential of 0.044, and a mass bias of 0.018. It's factory finished 5002000 grit sair. We scan it with the CTD version two
surface scanner. Scan right at 1000 grit. The hardness is 73. The absorption rate is fast. It's laid out 60 by 4 and a half by 30. And Chris, what do you think about the guru or just looking at it, >> man? You know what? I think it look pretty good. It got the eye of Horus on there. You know what I'm saying? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> So, do us a favor, man. like let us know in the comments what your favorite twocolor combination is for bull. I actually like black and blue. Let me
know what your favorite one is. Also, also if you don't mind, take a moment and hit that subscribe button. We look at the metrics for our videos and for whatever reason, a lot of people watch, but not as many subscribed. So, we sure would appreciate you subscribing to us. If you leave us a comment, we're going to send one of you guys uh something from True Cut or something from CTD as a option for doing that, leaving us a comment. So, thank you. Hey, let's go find out what this ball's about, Chris. >> Let's do it.
>> Oh, first shot don't count. >> Doesn't count, but that first shot did hook. >> Yeah, she look nice and rolly and chunk. >> So, 044 diffs about 4 and 12 inches of flare. Four inches of flare there. Not a lot. Enough. Come back, baby. >> Big hook. >> Big hook. >> This one is big hook. Yeah. >> Bighook.com. >> That one came.
>> Hey, we should make a shirt that says that. Bighook.com. >> I like it. I like it. That one came back from no man's land. Usually they don't come back from over there. Radical ain't playing. This one got big hook, bro. >> That was five. >> Oh, I threw it further. And this one came back. >> It hooked more. >> Oh, it hooked more.
>> Yeah. >> This one. This one. This one. It's a big hook. You got to move in some more. I think radicals entered the chat of biggest hooking ball opportunity of 2025. This one's This one hooks. This one hooks.
That's crazy. Like it don't matter where you throw it. I'm going I'm going to move all the way in. We going We going to give it the big wheel right after the rip. Let's see. Now I'm going to turn my hand and create more rotation. But let's see what happens. >> No. No. That should have never hooked. >> It's over, bro. It's over, bro. It's over. This is one of the biggest hooking balls that I shot. >> That should have never hooked.
>> No. I mean, >> on an angle like that, that should have It should have never hooked. >> This is one of the biggest hooking balls that we struck. >> And it struck. And this truck. >> I mean, look, look, look at the line, bro. >> Yeah. Turn the lights off. >> Look at the >> Hold on. Let me zoom in on it. He threw this ball. >> The lay down is 29 board and it got the three. >> That's crazy. And it like stopped and put a turn signal on. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It
>> boom. All right. Now that's pushing it. You have to hook that. I was saying they never hooked from there, but I mean, look, it was supposed to hook that last time. >> No, the last one was supposed to. >> That's crazy. So, if you need some hook in your bag, you may want to consider this piece from Radical at a Thousand Girl. I figured it would be earlier, too, but it's not that early. It it it's got the right shape. >> But you remember, man, them Guru balls
was good. That Guru Limited and the Guru balls are real good. Oh, and it still got it out. >> Yeah, man. This may not be a very long ball review, but that ball does the right thing. It's big hook. It's just big, flat out big hook. There's not enough There's not too much diff to make it real early. Uh there's enough surface to make it pick up, but not pick up too quick and it keeps going. >> Yeah. I mean, I I really used to like
the the guru ball. I had three or four of them back in the day. >> I mean, it's destroying the pins, too. >> Yeah, it's good >> from the crazy angle like that with a big strong ball. >> That's not normally what I would see done, right? That gives me a lot more shape than normal. >> I mean, like the confidence you got to just like chuck it is crazy. Like I I think you could just like chuck it over there. Like it don't matter where it go.
>> That was three more left. I was like, "Holy cow, my nose is bleeding a little bit." You know what I'm saying? I'm I'm definitely in pretty deep right now. So it it's good. This one's a big hook. Bighook.com. >> I mean like this way outside of you know what you normally >> Yeah. I mean, so I'll throw one where I normally throw the ball first shot. I mean, this is that ball you need if you need more hook. Uh, let's go ahead and get it polished and see what it
does. I'm going to throw one more shot. Throw one more shot first. Let's go way out friction, but I don't I think it's going to be too much, but we'll see. Let's just throw one out there and see. Oh yeah. Don't do that. Don't do that. It It's a lot of hook. Period. Point and blank. End the story. We're going to polish it and see what it does. All right. She's shiny. Let's see what she does now.
I'm going to go back to where I was slow hooking it and see what happens. Okay. That first shot don't count. But that's an automatic move back and it's a lot more controllable now, right? Not as much. It's got a lot more push to it. So, this is what I would expect out of most normal balls, right? This is kind of the reaction. This is kind of the
shape that I would expect to see. So, the fact that it was so much more aggressive earlier tells me it's a versatile piece. It's It's a pretty versatile piece. So versatile. If you are, if you get the ball and you're like, it's just too much hook, bring the surface up, right? We're now at 5,000 grip for us. But you may need to go a little bit lower or a little bit higher. If you go higher, it'll go even longer before it makes the move. Go a little bit lower, it'll be a little bit earlier.
Yeah. So now, right, because it's so much longer, I don't have that aggressive recovery that I had before. It It's This ball for me would be better at the thousand grit, right? >> Well, or Well or Well or Well or Well or Well or Well or Well or Well or Well or Well or I think somewhere in between just with surface, not but but you know what? Hook one like get on one a little. Let's see. Yeah. Yeah. Let's see.
Yeah, I mean you can make it work. We make adjustments over here, not excuses. You know what I mean? Showing the versatility. They think lefties don't do nothing but stand on the big dot, throw it at the second arrow, man. Eh, that does happen a lot. Fair assessment. Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed the Radical Guru Oracle to be a strong hook-oriented ball with considerable backend motion and flare potential on heavy oil conditions. On a house shot pattern with significant oil in the mid-lane, the ball demonstrated the characteristic sweeping arc motion typical of the Guru lineage—notably similar to comparable asymmetric offerings in its class. The reactive solid HK22 Cohesion coverstock showed minimal oil carrydown, allowing the modified Guru asymmetrical core (RG 250, differential 0.44, intermediate 0.18) to engage friction effectively and initiate recovery. Independent reviewers observed that the Oracle craves angle and space to work; it performed best when given room to breathe rather than forced into tighter lines, and the ball’s high intermediate differential made it somewhat sensitive to drilling layouts—testing suggested pin-down configurations may help reduce excessive flare and twitchiness for players with standard pinup drilling patterns.
The Oracle’s backend drive came later than expected in some lane positions, requiring bowlers to adjust their angles and speeds to find the optimal zone. Testing showed the ball benefits from slightly softer speed with open launch angles rather than aggressive revs, making it accessible for bowlers across the rev spectrum. Surface adjustments weren’t extensively explored in testing, but the solid coverstock should respond to typical maintenance protocols. One notable observation was the importance of proper vent hole maintenance during drilling—debris in the vent hole initially affected performance and required clearing before accurate assessment could be made.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Radical Guru Oracle is an excellent choice for bowlers who need strong angular motion and recovery in heavy oil environments, particularly speed-dominant players or those with moderate revolutions who struggle to get the ball to slow down on slick backends. Its late-transitioning hook and sweeping motion make it a reliable first-out-of-the-bag option for house shot bowlers dealing with significant oil volume. The ball’s core dynamics also suit players who prefer to play with wider angles and plenty of oil-soaked boards to work with.
However, the Oracle demands respect and attention to setup details. Bowlers with higher rev rates should carefully consider pin-down drilling layouts to manage the ball’s flare potential and avoid unpredictable motion. This is not a ball for bowlers seeking finesse or skid-flip characteristics; it’s built for those who want clear, decisive backend motion and are willing to adjust their angles and speed to maximize the ball’s strengths. At $194.95, it represents a solid mid-range investment for serious house shot bowlers committed to understanding asymmetric core dynamics and willing to dial in their approach.
The Pros
- • Guru asymmetric core with .018 intermediate diff produces a strong, defined downlane move
- • HK22C+ Solid at 2000 grit provides a controllable heavy oil read without being too grabby
- • 2.50 RG offers a slightly later roll than most heavy oil asymmetrics, giving it a touch more length
- • Proven Guru core lineage — refined and updated for modern lane conditions
The Cons
- • Moderate .044 differential means less total flare than bigger-core competitors
- • Solid coverstock requires regular surface maintenance to stay consistent
- • May underwhelm speed-dominant bowlers expecting maximum hook from an asymmetric

Guru Oracle I’m a left handed bowler. My ball speed is around 13.5 mph. My Rev rate is around 275 rpms. I recently punched up this ball. My layout choice is 40 x 4 x 30. Very close to the most versatile layout suggestion on the Radical bowling website. For me this ball is a beast on the backend. The backend is strong. Not flippy. But aggressive backend motion. For me this core and layout and a loopy roll to it. That helps it get thru the fronts. And with the aggressive cover. Wow great backend hook. I think it is a great addition to the Radical line. I use my on house shots and the longer patterns. If you don’t owe one. I suggest you to try one out. Thanks, Robert Way
Strong asymmetrical ball at a price I still can't believe. Don't sleep on this one.
