Performance Analysis
The DV8 Turmoil 2 Pearl features the DV8 Command Symmetric Core paired with the DV8 Intense Composite Pearl Reactive coverstock, creating a ball designed for bowlers transitioning into reactive equipment. With an RG of 2.53 and differential of .043, this ball provides a controlled, predictable reaction that won’t overwhelm newer players. The pearl coverstock with 1000 grit polish finish allows the ball to get good length through the front part of the lane before making its move on the backend.
Positioned as an entry-level piece for medium to heavy oil conditions, the Turmoil 2 Pearl offers modest hook potential with 4-5 inches of flare potential. The symmetric core design provides a smooth, arcing motion rather than sharp angular backend reaction, making it easier for developing bowlers to control and repeat their shots. While it may lack the hook strength needed for true heavy oil patterns, it serves its intended purpose well as a stepping stone ball that helps bowlers learn to play different parts of the lane while building confidence with reactive equipment.

Bowlers frequently mention:
DV8 has taken the best mid-priced balls in the Market in the Turmoil line and made them even better. The new Turmoil Pearl has a new cover that inables it to get a little more length than the original Turmoil Pearl and has a stronger backend motion. The Turmoil Pearl 2 for me compared to the original has more length and a stronger backend when it hits the friction. I had some over/under at times with the original where if I wanted to hook it a lot it would lose some pop but if I moved right to the dry sometimes it would hook early. The new version is what i was looking for when the lanes dry out I can either continue to hook the lane with power or move right and it still gives me good length and doesn't over hook. DV8 has another winner on their hands, great ball for med-dry lanes

If you just take them as a 1-2 combo, they can cover most any league night and do well. Your gonna see a little more length and definitely more downlane shape vs the previous Turmoils. The Turmoil 2 Pearl for me is about a 3-2 move right from the new Turmoil 2 Solid. I also have it about a foot and a half longer, and more responsive off friction vs the solid. Compared to the of Turmoil Pearl, the 2 is longer with more backend, and a tad quicker off the dry. If you have any of the original Turmoils, you will definitely see a difference in these new Turmoils vs. the og series. So yes, you can find a need to have the new balls even if you currently have the originals. I have found that they work well together, as typically I still have the og Hybrid and pearl in my bag. Overall if you have a need for a symmetric pearl, the new Turmoil 2 would be a great addition for your bag.

The perfect compliment to the Turmoil 2 Solid this pearl gives you that nice clean motion thru the front with that extra "Pop" on the back. Nice combo.. Eric Forkel 5 x PBA Champ
