Okay, I know you see it. You see the name plate. This is a ball we all are always waiting for. Any jackal that's released, we're all waiting to see what they do next. And they did it. They have a new Apex Predator core wrapped with this new technology that is called the Power Band. Now, don't know what all that fancy stuff means. This is what the core looks like. It's something new, patent pending, and it is wrapped with the cover that we had on the Evoke Hysteria, which was a crowd favorite,
especially on the PBA tour. Lot of titles. Let's see with both of them put together what it looks like on the lanes. Nate and I are [snorts] going to work together today and bowl two game set Baker style. And we are going to try to break 480, 240 average, and we are bowling on a little bit of a broken down house shot. We threw the Crown 78U on this earlier, me and Charles. So, it has a little bit of urethane carry down, but that's actually good because this is when this ball should come into play where we need some sharper angles, but we still need a bigger ball to pick up
in the front part of the lane and kind of try to help us navigate that cliff that the urethane can sometimes create. So, this is actually a pretty good way to test and see what the ball can actually do. >> All right, guys. Hello. I'm back. We're throwing Hyperdrive Pearl, but it's not about me. It's about Elise. Today I'm just going to be working on some things and uh try to help her out. All right, not the worst start in the world, especially after that little
intermission. >> I did forget to say this ball is really pretty. This ball is probably one of the prettiest balls I've ever seen. They have like three different teals in it. So aesthetically pleasing. 10 out of 10. and motive. You guys kill it every time with the colors. >> All right, we need to start striking already. >> Okay, I dropped that a little bit. >> Go through it. >> Yeah, we know every time I drop it and
plop it. >> 10 back every time. Isn't it nice that we finally have a video where Alisa is not talking smack to me? We actually have to work together. >> All right, we're going to make a little bit of a move. Woo! My first shot was not the best shot.
That also wasn't very good. All right, there we go. That's that urethane right there. That is helping a little bit. >> Hell yeah. kind of set up, got into the pocket. I will say, like I said earlier, a lot of people like that the focus area. It looked good for me, but it was one of those balls that me and Nate kind of talked about it. We might have put the wrong layout on it. I only drilled one and mine just kind of set up a little bit too early, but I also think it was my speed. Um, at the time when I drilled
it, I was struggling a lot with like my speed and like what I was doing shot to shot. So that could have obviously played a factor into it, but for where that ball needed to fit into my arsenal, it didn't do like the right thing all the time. It was very situational for me. So I'm hoping to see this ball be a pearl that is still strong but still sharp down lane, which as we're seeing it is so far. But I am excited to see what this cover does for me since the first one didn't roll that well for me.
All right. So, the Apex Jackal 252 RG055 differential 020 diff with the Apex Predator core. It looks new. I don't remember it looking like this. So, there's something. >> Yes. Like I said, it is wrapped in a new technology called the Power Band, which is patent pending because it's so different, so new. Um, and yes, which is what is right here, as you can see on the core, very different, something
that's very new to any bowling ball. And as always, Motive is always innovating, trying really crazy things, trying new things, really trying to be ahead of the curve. Again, we'll see. This is the first time you're seeing it. So, it's one of those I'm sure they'll uh have it on some of their other cores going forward. Again, I'm not that's I'm not smart enough for that stuff, but that's what we're working with. Propulsion MXV Pearl and it comes out 5,000 laser scam. We're going to try to throw another great shot here to keep it going
three. There we go. >> Okay, that shot might have been a little better. >> Well, we don't need to keep up. We just need to work together. >> I know, but we want to obviously bowl better than 480. Well, we know that just because we're not bowling for a paycheck, we'll somehow shoot like 290300 when it's not necessary. Okay, once again, let's just throw a better shot than the last two. >> Look at you go. >> Oh, leaner.
>> All right. Still not thrilled with the way I threw that. I'm working on some new stuff with my swing. Trying to get it into the motion. Trying to get it a little bit closer to my ankle. Again, if you're not twerking, you're not working. So, that's what we're trying to do today. >> Wow. We're twerking. >> We're twerking and working. >> I'm throwing something similar to Elise, so that way you guys could have two different perspectives. Hyperdrive Pearl. Thought it'd be good to try to throw something kind of close.
Yeah, I'm probably going to have to move a little bit further left because even though I don't think I'm throwing it the greatest [snorts] every shot off my hand, I have struck obviously, but I'm like if I really hit one, I think it's going to go. >> Throw a good one. Just move one. Just move one in one just in case if you're thinking about moving. >> Oh, I sent that one. Right. >> GET UP THE HILL. WHAT I'm liking is this ball is supposed to be angular, but it's like the angular I like, which is like smooth. It's not
getting to the friction and locking up so fast. It's really blending off it, which I like to see. I know a lot of people want to see that big hooks hockey stick motion. I just don't like that because especially when you're bowling on a lot of sport patterns, that motion just isn't great for blending the three ones. on a house shot. Obviously, it's amazing. But for me, that's just what I'm seeing so far. >> Oh, shove. >> Help. >> Yeah. You know what helped that? That urethane carry down. I'm not going to
lie. You can tell Charles was throwing the crown 78U with literally like 120 on it. We like blew up the right side of the lane, but obviously a little bit early hook. Okay, let's try to throw another decent shot to the right. That was pretty good. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I like that it's just blending off the friction. >> That's my anchor. >> That's why I wanted to mention that we threw urethane because for me,
this is when I would need a pearl ball that's a little bit stronger because I still need a ball that stores enough energy and isn't going to read in the front part of the lane, but also can give me enough down lane to get through that urethane down the lane. That was really good. >> One more. >> OH, I WAS WORRIED that was going to really overhook because I >> was afraid that you were going to eight pin cuz you said that was really good. >> Thought I was going to over hook. Look at this spect right here. Me and Nate lacing shots.
>> No way. Is it really that accurate? >> Yes, we're that accurate. >> Okay. And of course, I missed in the first frame. >> Yeah, I didn't get the first shot, but these are >> shot 300 said we're going to shoot 290. I set that further right. Yeah, I set that a little bit further right. >> Great start. It's >> crazy. >> All right, so 289 game one. It's great start. We're going to get way above 480. Hopefully, >> we're going to get way above 480. [snorts]
Hopefully. >> Yeah, I swear every time we're just like not bowling for our paycheck, we get we shoot scores like this. But if it's our paycheck, we're like trying to grind for 220. All right, one more. >> For everybody that doesn't know Alisa's layout, cuz we didn't talk about it. That's Alisa's layout right there. 60x 5x35. >> Like I said, look at these colors. Like honestly, Motive really hits with the colors. >> All right, game two. Here we go.
Help. All right. If you guys didn't already know, you can buy this ball down below. nate and elise.com. >> Come on, baby. [screaming] Yeah, that one I didn't quite get around it. >> Dude, >> we have our spare ball today. >> I do have my spare ball today. >> All right. Well, that doesn't help. >> I'm really working on some stuff that
obviously when you're throwing a strike ball, you're kind of just like a little less accurate, I would say. Spur ball is uh need some work with what I'm working on. Okay. So, just don't mind that. We're here to see the star of the show, which is that ball. Oh boy. Uh I guess I wrenched on it a little bit. I really didn't throw that one. Fantastic. All right, time to move. Throw a better one as well. >> You can't let the rails come off the
train right now. Just because I started it >> doesn't mean you have to finish it. >> You're right. We'll make this. >> Here we go. Great. Here we go. Here we go. >> There is nothing more frustrating than missing a spare. >> And I didn't because I was like scared to slide. All right. That was so bad. I like overslid. Are we about to shoot 289? Like 150? No, cuz we're going over
480. >> All right, Nate. I'm about to hook at this. >> So, we need 191 for 480. >> Let me have fun. I'm going to hook at this. >> Oh, we're having fun. >> Oh, that's a lot of fun. >> I thought you I [laughter] thought you I thought you thought I missed it. >> I was I had faith it was going to hook. >> I thought that you thought that I thought that we thought that the ball thought that I was going to miss it. >> Ball thought some different
All right, that was good. >> Wow. Okay, let's get back on the train. >> Good three board move there. >> All right, >> let's get it together. Come on. >> I know by get it together, he means actually not throw it like >> it's game over if you get it together. >> It's got to go. >> All right. >> No. See, that was one of those where probably needed to move, but >> we'll move the next shot. >> We'll move the next shot and throw it good again.
>> Probably a good spare out there. >> There we go. All right, we need some help. >> Oh, we got this. I'm going to go one more just in case. Are you kidding me? All right, we're going to get there cuz we're going to close our frames. [snorts] There we go. >> That was the worst highlight I think
we've ever had in our life. >> All right, so we are in trouble. >> I like how I just said that. He's like, "No, no, no. We're fine. We're fine." >> Yeah. Just strike right here. >> Be good. >> Be good. Here we go. All right, Nate. Come on. >> I just need to show up one frame. >> I need you and then I'll do the heavy lifting. >> You got it. We're going to make a great shot. We're going to post. All 10 are going to fall.
Oh, please don't over hook. >> Oh no. Uh. >> All right, guys. It's cuz of me. We're cooked. It's okay. I'm going to strike out to get us as close as possible. >> Pick up. >> Oh, it was that extra power band. >> It was. >> It kicked it. >> 186 max. Thanks to the dude in the ninth
frame. >> Yeah. To be fair though, we both missed a spare. >> Yeah, should get rid of the guy in the ninth frame. That was really good, dude. I swear no balls send messengers like motive. I don't know what it is, but I [laughter] don't. It's crazy the messengers that these balls send. It doesn't matter what motive ball it is, it just different. It just hits differently. Like the pins definitely slap around and kegle, but I know when I
throw a moball, like that last one, you saw that head pin just bounce around everywhere. It's It's insane. I got that in, but it should hold. >> Yep. >> All right. >> Pretty good. >> So, 186. >> All right. I need a new teammate for the night. >> I'm not going to end on that one. I'm going to throw one more for you guys cuz I am not going out like that. This You're always in practice on a good one. And uh this is going to be a good one.
>> Where was that? >> That's all I had to do. All right, let me throw a couple more shots. We'll show you guys the slow-mo on the bottom. Unfortunately, we're like four fins short. >> Yeah, 19 is what we needed. So, uh >> that's why it doesn't matter. You can go purchase this ball below, but you also need to purchase a spare ball and actually hit your target because spares, it's clearly what makes the bowler [snorts] not strikes. And speaking of getting new bowling balls the whole month of December, we are doing a special 5% off our entire website if you
use code December. That gets you 5% off your entire order. So if you're looking to get a new ball for Christmas, the holidays, the new year, go check out our website. >> What I'm thinking about this ball, definitely like it. Definitely way better with the cover stock than previous. I thought the cover stock was just not enough for me. I know like some of the guys on tour liked it. again, they have way higher rev rates. So, I was like, "Okay, that makes sense." Now, with this bigger engine, with this technology, again, I'm excited to see what else they put this technology into um to kind of see what it changes on the
other cores. So, I'm assuming that's what they're going to do is put this maybe on some newer cores like we have on this wall or put it on some of the older cores. Don't know how that works. Again, I'm not that smart, but that's why I let them send me the balls and they make the balls. But overall, I definitely think this is a different type of pearl that I'm going to have in my bag. It's again strong in the front part of the lane, but like I said down lane, it's angular, but it's like smooth off of it. It's not locking up at the end of the pattern. And the fact that it was able to navigate this pattern we bow on with some urethane on it, and we
bowled quite a bit with urethane. And like I said, Charles hit it with like 120. So, it's like really, really tore up the front part of the lane, and this ball saved energy without really burning up in the front. So, >> yeah, Elise is the MVP today. She struck more than me. So, >> I wouldn't say that. But we equally struck the same in the first part. >> I think you said I think you struck a little bit more. >> All right, let's get into the slow-mos. Thank you guys again for watching and we'll see you guys on the next video. >> Yeah, like and subscribe. Check out our website. We'll see you guys.

Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed the Motiv Apex Jackal Pearl to be a well-balanced asymmetric that delivers controlled angular motion without excessive early hook. Independent reviewers observed the ball on a broken-down house shot with urethane carrydownβan ideal scenario to evaluate the ballβs intended use case. The reactive pearl coverstock paired with the new Apex Predator core (featuring the patent-pending Power Band technology) produced smooth, blended friction transitions rather than aggressive hockey-stick motion. Reviewers noted this characteristic made the ball particularly effective at navigating the transition created by urethane residue while maintaining enough front-end length to store energy for downlane motion. On the test pattern, the ball demonstrated strong pin action and reliable carry, with one tester reporting impressive accuracy and pocket consistency once proper layout selection was confirmed.
A noteworthy observation from testing was the importance of drilling layout for this particular core. One independent reviewer initially found the ball set up slightly too early with an incorrect layout, resulting in overly situational performance. However, with proper drilling specifications (60x5x35 layout was used by one tester), the ball responded as intendedβdelivering the sharp, angular motion expected from an asymmetric while maintaining the smooth blending characteristics that make it versatile across different lane conditions. Surface adjustments were not required during testing, and the ball remained responsive throughout multiple games on a moderately broken-down pattern.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Apex Jackal Pearl is best suited for intermediate to advanced bowlers seeking a strong asymmetric for heavy oil conditions who prefer controlled angular motion over dramatic backend reaction. This ball fills a specific niche: bowlers who need sharpness and energy down lane but want to avoid the aggressive, early-locking motion of traditional high-RG asym designs. If you regularly face league patterns with carrydown, oil transition zones, or sport-style conditions requiring controlled angle changes, this ball should be on your radar.
This is also an excellent choice for bowlers building a complete arsenal who already own urethane equipment or pearl solid options. The Apex Jackal Pearl complements those tools by offering the heavier oil performance they require while maintaining the smooth friction management that works well on house shots. However, proper layout selection is criticalβwork with a pro shop to drill this ball to match your rev rate and speed, as core performance is highly responsive to layout choices. At $219.95, it represents solid value for an asymmetric pearl from a manufacturer known for innovative core technology and quality pin action.

Bowlers Say
Bowlers praise the Apex Jackal as an aggressive pearl reactive with explosive backend and controlled motion down lane. Works best on heavier oil patterns with strong pin carry. Some note it's too much ball for typical house shots and durability concerns with chipping.

A piece.of the ball chipped out the second time I used it. The ball did have good action and movement, but didn't really have a chance to get used to it before it chipped

This ball is everything that I expected from a top of the line Motiv ball. I'm looking forward to some record games.

Taking a core as legendary as the Predator V2 core and modifying it is no small task, so when they announced the Apex Jackal, I was extremely curious of what we would see out of it. The Apex Jackal is my favorite and what I would like to say is the best pearl cover Jackal we have ever produced. Using the same cover from the Evoke Hysteria and Steel Forge, combined with the new POWERBAND technology has created the most stable, yet dynamic pearl Jackal and pearl asymmetric ball Motiv has ever produced. The cover keeps the ball online in oil the exact way you need it too for heavier oil conditions while the core still allows it to retain energy for that great booming motion bowlers expect from an asymmetric pearl. I laid mine out 70x5.5x45 to give me a great complement to my Onyx Jackal when the fronts go but there's still volume to dig through or when it's just too slow, but I need more motion than the Hysteria and Steel can give me. It is exactly what I needed and what bowlers need in the asymmetric pearl spot in their arsenal. - MOTIV Staff Member Anthony Evans
I purchased my Apex on Jan 6, 2026 and it is smoking. I rolled five games with the Apex and it rolled smooth down the lane and back end was explosive. It is not lazy going down, does wiggle, does not lose power, and rolls like it knows where to go. It did not take me long to figure the ball out. No matter where I stood on the lane, the ball came back, the back end was amazing. Go Motiv...this is a winner
Note, Not really a house shot ball. I tried this on my house shot. Not a great pairing,, but the house shot I tried, was incredibly dry. This has to be the most aggressive , pearl reactive on the market. wicked back end. the core is amazing. I cant wait to get this on some oily patterns.
