Absolute sussy smell to this ball it has a good speed around 100 miles an hour very strong ball goes smooth down the lanes!

Storm has really done it this time, This ball rolls and hooks! Let me tell you what I did, but throw it yourself 1st, then make your own decision. Me, myself...I hit it with a 3000 pad. I wanted it hook just a little earlier other than go long and snap, but that is me and keeping it the way I want it. I started my league, standing 26 with my feet and threw the 16-17 board at the arrows and out to 8-10 at the break point. 3 games just moved a total of 4 left with my feet and 3 on the lane. Just watch the break point lol...the ball will come back! It rolls very nice. It's a 1st ball out of the bag for me.

Hello, and welcome to the ball review for the new Storm Absolute. The Absolute features the Sentinel Core with the R2S DEEP Hybrid coverstock and the Reacta Gloss finish. This asymmetrical piece, which has a 2.48 RG and 0.050 DIFF in 15 lbs, will be a monster for lane conditions that have a pretty good amount of friction built in or on medium volume oil conditions. I am still getting used to the Reacta Gloss finish compared to the 1500 polish Storm was using before. For the conditions at the bowling alleys I compete in at home, the Reacta Gloss finish tends to be cleaner than I am accustomed to. I ran into this with the Electrify GO and Phaze V as well, but I know with a slight surface tweak I can get them dialed in here. I have waited to make the surface changes because I travel to various tournaments and I know the Reacta Gloss finish will help these balls shine there. I compared the Absolute to the Roto Grip Exotic Gem and the 900 Global Altered Reality. I tried to play the same area with each while gravitating left throughout the video, and out of the three, the Absolute is definitely the cleanest, but the Absolute does not lack in backend motion once it sees friction. Three different balls, three different unique shapes and three very close in reaction types as a first out the bag type of ball. You should “absolutely” check the new Storm Absolute out on January 20th! Special thanks to Chad’s Pro Shop and to Strikezone Bowling Lanes for their help!

The New Storm Absolute brings a brand-new core and coverstock to the Storm family. The new Sentinel Core brings the ability to keep overall intermediate differential after drilling allowing the ball to still read the lane strong in the midlane and create a lot of flare down lane. The new R2S Deep coverstock provides a cleaner and more angular reaction compared to the original R2S pearl coverstock. The combination of these two features gives a clean and angular motion with a strong midlane read.
What I found with my Absolute was exactly what was expected. On my typical 44ft house shot I saw a lot of overall length with a sharp backend reaction. On the fresh of this pattern, it was a little too clean causing an over/under reaction. After 2 games of transition, I went back to the Absolute and I saw a perfect reaction through the pins. It allowed me to move a few boards left with my feet after an Infinite Physix and open up my angles to see a strong and angular backend motion. It was hard to get this ball to not hook super well on the pattern on the break down. If you have higher ball speed or lower rev rates and need an angular asymmetrical ball, the Absolute is your ball. If this a ball you prefer to use on the fresh, you may need to remove the reacta gloss for a stronger and smoother ball reaction. For tournament play, I can see myself using this ball later in the block when asymmetrical is still needed in such patterns that are medium to long and have higher volumes of oil.

This ball is a monster. The Absolute features the new R2S deep cover which is a new cover to the storm lineup. This cover is cleaner than the original R2S which is seen on the Hy-Road Pearl. Once I knocked the cover with 2000 to get it to pick up sooner this ball was everything I needed. It provided plenty of shape in the mid lane and tons of continuation through the pins. First night out the box, I went 752 and the look I had was unbelievable. The amount of force this goes through the pins is unbelievable. Even with my 300 rev rate I was able to throw a couple messengers. I see this ball being a versatile option either on fresh or transition on house and on transition on sport. When the stronger solids start to burn up and I still need that strong asym I will jump into the Absolute. This ball is going to be very popular!

The Storm Absolute utilizes the new Sentinel core and R2S Deep hybrid reactive coverstock. We compared the Storm Absolute to the new Storm Revenant. The Absolute rolled earlier than the Revenant so it controlled the mid-lane better. Due to using energy sooner than the Revenant, the Absolute wasn’t as sharp on the back-end but carry was still good on the house shot. The Orange Cream Soda scent is a bonus. I see the Absolute being your step down from your strongest asymmetrical pearl. The Absolute seems to be a touch weaker than the Roto Grip UFO Alert.

The Storm Absolute hooks really sharp down lane. The Reacta Gloss doesn't really help the ball hook on a fresh lane.
Hawaii, United States
The Storm Absolute features the R2S Deep Hybrid Reactive, Sentinel Core, and comes with Reacta Gloss finish. The R2S Deep cover is supposed to be a cleaner cover than the original R2S cover that allows the ball to get through the heads with a big enough core to make the turn once it hits the friction. After throwing it, this describes it very well and was a bit too clean for me. I did very lightly hit it with a 3k pad to just knock the top shine off and it really came to life for me. This ball is amazing when I need to move left and throw right or as well call it “The Slow Wheel”. I can see using this ball when the Exotic Gem is starting to read the lanes too early and you are needing a cleaner ball to get down the lane a bit further. I have had some big sets with this ball, and it already found a place in my bag. This ball will be a house shot killer and another super addition to the Storm line!

The Absolute is the first single-density asymmetric core in the Storm line since the Lucid. The extra intermediate differential makes the Absolute respond to friction on the lane more effectively and won’t miss the spot. Storm designates DEEP as Delayed Energy for Enhanced Performance.
The Absolute is an all new asymmetric design for 2023. My first impression OOB is the Absolute is indeed very clean through the front part of the lane. Also, the ball did show nice continuation as advertised. For me, I liked the OOB finish, but may touch up slightly with a 3K or 4K pad as I roll it more. Overall, I see this as a nice transition piece as breakdown of the lanes occur.
The only ball with a similar comparison I have is the Infinite Physix. The Absolute defintely clears the front part of the lane more which I'm ok with. For me, its always easier to take surface down but I like the built in length to work from due to my slower ball speed. I do feel both balls can be in your arsenal as well. The Infinite Physix is a great all around asym ball which has been noted by many sources. The Absolute off the spot continues nicely and I'm excited to see how far this ball can go.
If you are looking for the latest in technology be sure check out the Absolute. This ball is going to turn some heads. Be sure to grab yours today!

The Storm Absolute is a ball that is useable on a variety of patterns. Often times, big asymmetrical balls aren't, but the hybrid coverstock allows this to happen. It has been my go to ball game 2 and 3 of league when needing to move left, & also in tournaments when my solid balls get lazy down lane. A new high performance piece from Storm Products is the Absolute! This features the R2S deep hybrid coverstock which makes this ball FLOAT through the front part of the lane wrapped around the new Sentinel Core!
The Absolute for me is an asymmetrical piece that isn’t to strong! It is weaker than the Exotic Gem, Dark Code and RST X-2 but is stronger than the Zen and Fate! This Is a great addition in your bag if your wanting an asymmetrical ball that doesn’t hook to early!

Storm scores another perfect 300 with their release of the Absolute! Storm's brilliant combination of Sentinel Core and R2S Deep Hybrid coverstock makes the Absolute a strong, powerful striking machine! And with its cutting-edge design, the Absolute produced some fantastic results. So, let's take a closer look at what makes the Absolute a "must-have" powerhouse!
From my first roll with the Absolute, I was highly impressed with the Sentinel Core. First, I loved how the Sentinel Core makes it turn off the pattern decisively. Unlike other asymmetric cores that tend to be lazy and take their time to "stand up" and roll. The Sentinel Core reacted crisply off the pattern without being overzealous or erratic. And being a straighter player, I enjoyed the Sentinel's strong angular predictability. Not only could I open up my angles on fresh oil, but the Sentinel Core made me look like I could put my hand in the ball! And lastly, the Sentinel Core makes the Absolute roll with conviction. The Sentinel Core has a powerful impact at the pocket and an impressive continuation that clears the deck without compromise.
Those who read my reviews know I am a huge fan of Hybrid Coverstocks on a THS. And the R2S Deep Hybrid delivers results a THS player can count on! First, on fresh conditions, I like how the R2S cuts a clean path through the heads and goes through the front part of the lane without hesitation. And as the Absolute entered the hook phase, I liked how the R2S Deep Hybrid started to bite through the mid-section without causing the Absolute to labor as it entered the roll phase. And as the Absolute turned off the pattern, I liked how the R2S created a brisk resolute motion toward the pocket. I could count on the R2S to be decisive and predictable without being "jumpy" or over-sensitive as the pattern breaks down and goes away.
The factory Reacta Gloss on the Absolute worked well in most conditions I bowled in. However, being a straighter, high-speed, low-rev player surface is my best friend. So, I took my factory Absolute and hit it with Storm, step #2 compound (320-1500 grit), yes – step #2! And talk about coming alive! I thoroughly enjoyed bowling game three, playing deep and targeting the third arrow. It was fun to watch the Absolute turn left off the pattern and carry with a swirling pin action even when my execution was out totally out of my comfort zone!
In conclusion, Storm has created a huge success with the creation of the Absolute! With its Sentinel Core and the R2S Deep Hybrid Coverstock, the Absolute is an excellent ball for a straighter, high-speed, low-rev player like me! So, stop into your local Storm VIP pro shop today and put the Absolute in your hand for tonight's league! The results will be Absolute!

Storm’s new Absolute is an Asymmetrical Hybrid piece that is good for Medium-Heavy conditions. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Rev Rate: 400. Speed: 16.5. Drilled this piece with the Pin up between the fingers and CG kicked out 1” from the palm and 1” Left of the Mass Bias. Out of Box ball motion is clean through the fronts with a smooth motion on the backend. I took a 2k and 3k Abralon afterwards and it was still clean through the fronts with a stronger continuous backend motion. I compared this to the Storm Proton Physix and the Roto Grip Exotic Gem. Storm Proton PhysiX starts up earlier in the mid lane and is 2-3 stronger, Exotic Gem 1-1 stronger. If you are looking for an Asym Hybrid that gets length and strong backend this is the piece to have in the bag.

The new Storm Absolute brings a very popular coverstock from some of the overseas releases stateside. The R2S Deep hybrid is a very clean cover. R & D developed a brand new core called sentinel to team up with this cover. Sentinel has a very unique shape designed to allow the thumb hole to miss the core for most drillings. The core design has an increased intermediate differential, increasing the balls response to friction.
The combination of the core and cover in this ball create a clean, powerful reaction. R2S Deep is phenomenal at ignoring early friction on the lane. This is definitely an innovation at the top end of hook potential as even the cleanest high performance balls would struggle to clear the fronts compared to this one. Another great characteristic of the Absolute is how adjustable it is. Adding surface to the R2S Deep can make it much stronger in the oil, but the coverstock formulation seems to keep it from losing that cleaner characteristic in comparison to other balls when you add surface. So you can upgrade the mid-lane motion without having to worry too much about the ball burning up.
I first tested the Absolute on our high volume house pattern. The first time I took it out was for a prebowl for league. There was a lot of down-lane hang on the freshly oiled pair we used. I wasn't having much luck in practice with getting anything back when I sent it right down-lane, but trying to square the ball up more felt very tricking because it would see the friction in the track and want to start up too soon.
I tried the Absolute and found that I could be in a bit more and straighten the angle up to keep the ball from getting too far right. The Absolute responded beautifully, ignoring the higher friction in the track in the front of the lane. It also created a strong motion in the shorter window down-lane as I wasn't getting the ball too far right of the pocket. The result gave me an initial impression that this ball wasn't too strong down-lane and would look better at straighter angles.
I decided to throw it again on my next league night a few days later, and I'm glad I did. I hadn't realized how much the specific condition the first time out had shaped my impressions of the ball. The backends were much cleaner this night and my Absolute was very strong in the back-end. I still had the clean, easy length but the ball could go much more left to right compared to the first time I'd used it and had no issue making it back to the pocket. The versatility of finding a look I really liked with this ball on both of the lane conditions makes me excited to throw this ball more on a variety of conditions. It's already pretty much a lock to make it into my bag for nationals this year.
This ball definitely belongs in the tournament bag. To my eyes its cleaner than all the other Premier line balls currently available. It's cleaner and still more controllable down-lane than the Dark Code. It seem to be effective from whatever angle you choose to use it at, which means it should match up with a wide range of styles.

Really liking this, for a big Asym. this one is pretty clean through the front which is a plus as a bowler who's home center is older and high friction, for me this ball seems to roll just enough in the oil and not an over react on the dry, well played Storm. : )

Hi bowlers !! To be fully transparent, the first time that I throw it, I didn't liked it !! The fres surface was too shiny for the oil lanes conditions that we have. I had no reaction, the ball pass right. So I just passed a 3000 with hand just to remove the extra shiny. After, I had a lot more of reactions on the backend. Maybe also with a couples of games on it. Now, the Absolute is a ball that I can use with a good amount of oil. It's reads well the mid part of the lane and become to react at this moment so I have a good big round react with the combinasion also of the assym core and R2S deep hybrid cover. It'a a ball that I will use on the beginning when I know that it have medium or high oil condition. So, a great ball that you will be able to change the surface easily according what you want !! #stormnation

The Storm Absolute uses the new Sentinel Core and R2S Deep Hybrid Coverstock. This cover is one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen on an asymmetric ball. It clears the front part of the lane, with enough energy to control the back part of the lane. Now as a 2 hander, I have trouble finding asymmetric balls that roll good for me. But after the first game or two with The Absolute, I couldn’t put the ball down. Very predictable backend and for those high rev players; it controls the midlane very well. This ball fits just below my Storm Nova and above my 900 Global Reality Check. I recommend this ball to anyone in the market for a strong pearl. This is the one for you!

The Absolute is a new asymmetric ball in Storm’s Premiere line. It features the R2S Deep hybrid coverstock, which is a cleaner version of their R2S formula, or it’s basically a longer and sharper version of the original Hy-Road coverstock. The core is the new Sentinel core, featuring a single density with no flip block to still provide torque but prevent it from locking up, in addition to cavities on either side to limit the amount the core is altered when drilling holes, this preserves the pre-drilled numbers and core dynamics.
I’ve used the Absolute at several different surfaces on several different conditions. First, the box Reacta Gloss surface combined with the cleaner nature of the cover just made it too long and inconsistent for me, so I took it to 3000 grit by hand initially. This made it more controllable and consistent, but it’s difficult to get very deep by hand, so as I continued to bowl, it shined back up and was still cleaner than was comfortable for me. I resurfaced it to 1000 grit on a resurfacing machine, and then finished it with Storm’s Step 2 compound. After that, the reaction was much improved, still clean and sharp, but much more stable, much more controllable, and the more games I got on it, the stronger and better it reacted.
The Absolute is a remarkably versatile ball. The roll of the core is unique, it feels like a strong symmetric core because of how it rolls and revs, but it handles angle much better. At the same time, it expends energy a little slower than regular asymmetrics so that it doesn’t lock up or roll forward. It’s very forgiving and predictable, and is in play on some fresh league conditions, but is a great 2nd or 3rd ball out of the bag in transition on either house patterns or sport conditions. On the left side of the lane, it’s a little too angular for me to use on a regular basis, but it stays in the bag in case the backends start or get too slow or soft. What it reminds me most of is the Rubicon UC2, just a touch weaker and a touch smoother.

Absolute. The consistency of this ball is just that. The new Storm Products Absolute is a unique piece in the Premier Line that is unlike anything we have seen from Storm in recent years. This ball features the new Sentinel core and the new R2S Deep Hybrid cover. This combination creates an incredibly consistent ball motion off the end of the pattern. With an Intermediate Diff of 0.021, the Absolute is clean through the fronts and mids while creating a smooth reaction off the end of the pattern. My Absolute is drilled 4.5x4x3.5 2LS, which helps use this motion to my advantage due to my higher ball speed and rev rate. Out of the box, I sanded it with 500-1000 and finished with Storm's Step 2 compound to break the polish it came with. This ball reminds me of a slightly weaker Altered Reality as it has a strong but smooth reaction.
Comparing the Absolute to the Infinite Physix, the IP is much earlier and stronger overall. This was expected as the IP has the REX pearl overstock and is finished at 4000. Both of the balls feature a low RG of 2.48, but the different in ball reaction stemmed from core shape and cover strength. My IP is drilled 4.5x3.75x3.75 to give a similar ball reaction to my Absolute, but can be used earlier in a block or even on fresh given certain conditions. When the pattern starts to make my Infinite hook too early, I know I will be able to get a similar shape and controllable read with my Absolute.

The Storm Absolute is the newest asymmetrical hybrid in the Premier line. It features the new Sentinel Core which yields an RG of 2.48, Diff of 0.050 and PSA of 0.021 and is wrapped around the all new R2S Deep Hybrid cover. I drilled mine 5 x 5.5 x. 2 and I was pleasantly surprised by this ball. Normally I rarely find a asymmetrical shinny ball that I’m able to use a ton of because being of the left side and having a higher ball speed I typically don’t ever get into the stronger asymmetrical shinny balls but this one is totally different. For me its not overly strong like say a Infinite Physix or RST X-3 but it’s stronger than the Zen’s and Phaze’s. It’s very clean for an asymmetrical but doesn’t lose that pop on the backend. This ball bridges the gap between the balls like Eternity, Infinite Physix and the Zen line. Your defiantly not going to want to miss out on this one.
United States
When looking at the tech specs for the Storm Absolute one of the first things that came to mind was this looks very similar to a Roto Grip RST-X2. Even though the Absolute has a hybrid cover and has the Sentinel core, both different than the cover and core for the RST-X2, I just felt like I was going to get a very similar reaction from the 2 balls. Due to that I drilled my Absolute very similar to that of the RST-X2 and throwing them side by side they are almost the same ball for me. The Absolute is very clean through the front and makes a nice sharp transition into the finish. I have been able to stand in the same spot, hit the same target at the arrows, and get to the same breakpoint as the RST-X2. The only difference I have seen is the R2S Deep Hybrid cover of the Absolute is just a hair weaker off the spot, but it still gets to the pocket and hits. The Storm Absolute is going to be a great ball for tournament patterns when you need to switch to a pearl and/or polished cover. It is also a great choice for the first ball out of the bag on medium volume oil house patterns.
The pin buffer layout I used on the Absolute is 4 x 3 5/8 x 2 5/8. I am a tweener who tends to spin it some.

I’ve been doing a lot of league bowling in a house I never fair well in when I throw large core, asymmetrical pearl stuff. With some tournaments on the schedule, I decided to put a new Absolute in my bag. I still love and use my Dark Code, so I didn’t want to run any risk of replicating it. Obviously, the cores are different and even though both are in the R2S family, there has been some surface degradation in the Dark Code. So, no matter what, they’re going to be different.
Using it on a 25ml, 42’ 12:1 recently, I immediately noticed the 35x4.5x55 layout made it roll more in the middle of the pattern than my Dark Code does. For me, this has two benefits. When they’re fresh and I needed something to slow down and stand up a little earlier, this did it. But, since this is such a clean cover, when I had to make big zone moves in late in the shift or on the burn this ball got me through the early friction and gave me shape the others couldn’t.
On that particular shot, it wasn’t my go-to, but it definitely gave me shape and read every time I needed it. For some, this may not be a benchmark ball and that’s OK. Lower rev players who need a clean look and who go with a more skid/flip layout, this might be the ball for you. Especially in houses where friction is causing struggle.

I am higher speed, rev challenged 220-250ish, high tilt, high rotation, and super low track player. I drilled my Absolute 30x4x65 with the pin in the middle finger.
My axis point is 3 1/4 over and 7/8 up.
The Absolute is a welcomed addition to my arsenal because it allows me to ball down from my Exotic GEM and stay right. My absolute is very clean and round in shape , which is something I’m not used to or keen on seeing. Although, if I’m playing on higher friction or shorter oil patterns I can see myself using this ball. The Absolute by Storm definitely does not disappoint and the orange cream soda scent is Absolutely amazing!

Such a unique ball reaction being a asymmetrical ball. With the 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 x 3 it puts the pin above my ring finger and the mass bias in my thumb. For me its not a ball I can stand right throw left which is what I have been looking for where I bowl at in the Northern California due to it being more on the light oil side.
The Absolute for me has some IQ tour solid vibes being its not jumpy off the spot, very good control but can handle more oil than a IQ. The Absolute I am able to stand 5-8 boards left than my other balls like the super nova and proton physix which is crazy to think about also being a asymmetrical ball but due its design intent I can actually go to the Absolute after a proton physix or super nova. I can stand about 20 comfortably for almost 3 games and just move my eyes if needed. If I do need to move it would be 2 boards with the same shot down lane and im good to go. As long as you get it to the friction early enough the ball rolls ABSOLUTELY awesome! Great ball for league. Looking into getting another one that’s drilled a lil bit stronger to have for more oil yet still have control.

I chose to throw this at out of box finish..tbh I wasn’t a fan so I went and hit the R2S DEEP cover with 5000 tru cut and went over it lightly with polish. Immediately the ball became more stable and a consistent motion off the spot and for what I like to see from my asymetricals. The technology that went into development with the Sentinel core with holding the dynamic integrity and enhancing the intermediate diff this ball responds so good off the friction! It blends extremely well from deeper angles and is still allowed to go through the pins correctly! I tend to now a days keep more Asyms in my bag and on hand and this ball with ABSOLUTELY be in my bag at all times!!

I’ve been looking for a UFO Alert replacement since last year’s ban. Well, Absolute is pretty darn close to this replacement, and I couldn’t be happier. I would say the Absolute is a smidge less on the backend from the original UFO Alert. I drilled my Absolute for control, pin under middle with PSA kicked far right. This gives me a lot of control off the backend for either fresh or to manage the pocket when the sport shot or transition calls for it. I took mine back to 500,1000, 1500 grit polish as I felt Reacta Gloss was a bit too clean and wanted more teeth under the finish. Shot 300 the following week in my sport league! For me, the Absolute isn’t hockey stick, but more strong control off the backend which is perfect for sport shots! Go get one of these today!!!

The new Absolute provides a great shape that in my opinion Storm didn't have yet. I am able to play right longer than most with this ball and it doesn't burn up quick.I love the fact that this is so easy through the front part of the lanes but continuous off the back. I would recommend hitting this ball with a 3000 to crack the cover and let it lane shine.

Likes: Clean through the heads, strong in the mid lane, continuous backend. Was pretty good on a THS, but might be even better on a pattern. Out of the box it seems like a great ball for someone with lower ball speed and lower rev rate.
Dislikes: Picked up a bit later than I was expecting, had to knock off a bit of the polish to get the ball where it needed to be to thrive.

The Absolute has a low RG value of 2.48 a medium differential of 0.050 and a high intermediate differential of 0.021.
Storm came out with a brand-new Sentinel Core with a R2S Deep Hybrid cover which is also brand new stateside.
The Sentinel Core first single-density asymmetric core in the Storm line since the Lucid. The design intent of the Sentinel weight block was to maintain the dynamic integrity after drilling by missing the weight block.
By missing the weight block you will have extra intermediate differential and lower RG which makes the Absolute respond to friction more effectively thus creating more continuation through the pins.
The R2S Deep Hybrid cover is cleaner through the fronts as compared to the flagship R2S formula, which in turn yields a more aggressive shape to the pocket and more overall angle through the pins. By having such a clean cover gives you an advantage to be able to use different surfaces to create a weaker or stronger response to the lane which will be explained throughout the rest of the review.
I did a ball comparison to the 900 Global Reality Check at 1000 grit and the Storm Absolute at 3000 on a 42 ft house shot, 25 ml of oil. The layout chosen 65 x 6 x 20.
In comparison to the 900 Global Reality Check, the Reality Check is more rounded and stronger than the Absolute by at least 5-6 boards at the box surface, 2-3 boards with the Absolute at 3000 but at 1000 the Absolute catches up and is basically an immediate ball down once the Reality Check Starts to burn up.
As per the surface adjustments, the Absolute at box surface which is 500>2,000>4000, reacta gloss which will go really long but will be great on the medium to dry conditions.
At 3,000 will be a few boards quicker and will be a few boards weaker then your benchmark ball.
At 1,000 which is my personal favorite will be an immediate ball down when your benchmark ball starts to burn up and leave corner pins.
Here is a few shots of the Absolute on 40’ Abbey Road against the 900 Global Reality Check. As you will see the Absolute is a longer and sharper but the Reality Check is more rounder and starts up a little quicker.
In the bag, will be the Storm Super Nova, Storm Absolute, Storm Dark Code, Storm Hyroad Pearl

The all new Absolute form storm features Storm’s first single-density asymmetric core in the Storm line since the Lucid. According to storm “The R&D team has also reduced the amount of weight block mass near the area where the thumb hole is typically placed. The inward angled edges increase the intermediate differential prior to drilling and allows the dynamic integrity to be preserved after drilling because the thumb hole misses the weight block. The extra intermediate differential makes the Absolute respond to friction on the lane more effectively and won’t miss the spot.” I have seen a lot of good things out of this ball so far, for a ball with a lower RG this ball doesn’t bog down too fast and quit. I have seen this ball control the front part of the lanes while giving me the ability to open up the lane with ease. This would be a good benchmark pearl ball to add to your bag for league or tournament play. Go out and get yours today!

The new Storm Absolute brings an all new core and cover combination stateside. It features the R2S Deep hybrid cover, which is supposed to be cleaner through the front part of the lanes compared to the R2S formula found on balls like Hyroad Pearl and Phaze V. Essentially, this helps to create a more aggressive shape into the pocket with increased angle through the pins. The engine driving the Absolute is the new Sentinel core, which is a single density core with no flip block and a shape that limits the amount of material removed from the core during drilling which preserves the core and ball dynamics. This also helps the Absolute respond to friction more effectively and consistently.
Prior to throwing the Absolute for the first time, I lightly scuffed the surface with a 3000-grit Abralon pad by hand as I’ve done on most factory-shined balls. Even with the light scuff, my first impressions were that the Absolute was undoubtedly one of the cleanest balls I’ve ever thrown. So much so, that I generally found it to be inconsistent. Even after another scuff by hand, the Absolute was still extremely clean but it wasn’t reading the mid-lane as much as I would have liked. Therefore, I resurfaced it on a ball spinner with 500-1000-3000 grit Abralon pads and have let it lane shine from there. Since then, the reaction has been much improved; it’s still clean up front and sharp downlane, but much more stable and controllable in the mid-lane.
The Storm Absolute is a great ball with aging lane surfaces in many bowling centers. It’s going to be a great choice for league bowlers on medium to lighter volume house patterns, and a good option to transition to in tournament play. It bridges the gap between bigger asymmetrical balls like a Super Nova or Infinite PhysiX and symmetrical balls like Phaze V or Hyroad. Also, don’t be afraid to adjust the surface on your Absolute if you’re not quite seeing what you want – it takes very well to surface adjustments even though it comes shiny from the factory. It’s ABSOLUTELY a great addition to the Storm line!

The Storm Absolute is absolutely clean through the front and mid part of the lanes. For being a big asymmetrical ball, it is a very controllable ball. With the absolute being a hybrid cover helps the smoothness through the front and mid part of the lane. The Absolute has a very nice reaction off of the break point, it's sharp of the spot but then rolls into a nice continuous roll through the pins. Like I state in the video I drilled mine to be a little bit more of a rollie type ball so I can use the Absolute on shorter oil patterns, dryer lanes and high friction lanes. Overall, the Absolute is a great ball and can be used for many different oil patterns and all types of bowlers. Get yours today.

Today we are talking about the new Storm Absolute. This ball is becoming a league shot favorite of mine because when the bigger balls are too much for a house shot this ball seems to blend it out and check all the right boxes. I have been trying to start on a THS with the Revenant, but find that I have to force that ball. I did knock the shine off with a 2000k pad and I think that is helping the blend that I see. I will be doing that again to the Revenant as it has lane shined up and having trouble with it. I would say that the Absolute is a good ball and I think it fairs better on the THS as on a sport condition I think there are better options to throw than the Absolute. Again, not every ball will match up to your game and that’s why if there is ever a ball demo or Storm Matchmaker in your area it would be wise to get out there and throw the balls to get an idea as to what that ball will do for you and your game.

The Storm Absolute is a release I have been waiting on for a while. The IQ Fusion and Crossroad featured the famous R2S cover in a hybrid version and it’s been a long time since we’ve seen this cover stateside. I drilled the Absolute with a stronger pin to pap layout (55 x 4 x 65) and it gives me exactly what I’m looking for. Once my Super Nova starts losing energy down lane just a little bit I can get into this Absolute on more dense oil conditions and have no trouble in the transition. I tend to be able to stay in Hybrid cover balls longer, but usually they are few and far between releases. This is my favorite ball to throw in league for the last 6 weeks or so. I can throw it for all 3 games if I wanted. It gets down the lane clear despite the Pin Under layout and never hits the 1/3 without maximum effort. 10/10 Rating from me.

The Absolute is the latest addition to Storm’s Premier line and believe me this ball should absolutely be your bag. Storm has developed the all new Sentinel Core wrapped with the RS2 Deep hybrid cover. This will ensure the Absolute will change direction and continue through the pins with more power. I tested the Absolute on a 43 feet tournament pattern, I was able to play track area with great success. The Absolute consistently read the midlane and had a lot of energy on the backend for a continuous motion with great pin carry. This is a great ball for all levels of bowlers. The Absolute is a new cleaner hybrid asym. It features a new core and R2S Hybrid Deep. The cover is VERY clean and responsive. Thankfully the new Sentinel cover is very strong and immediately creates a strong midlane so it doesn’t over shoot the spot. In fact the Absolute rolls so strong in the mids that it still feels like a bigger ball to me that has a little more backend off the spot. And since the Absolute is a hybrid it does that hybrid thing. It’s clean, but not too clean. It’s jerky but not too jerky. It’s right in the middle of reaction and if that’s what you’re looking for this ball is a no brainer. It feels a lot like a smoother Code Black, very similar to a Code Red.

For me being balanced bowler with both my rev rate and ball speed matching up the Absolute with the new R2S Deep Hybrid cover and Sentinel Core it allows me to into the oil for that early transition when i need to create and use steep angles the Absolute still reads the mids due to the Sentinel core, but is continuous off the spot down lane for me rather than it being a hockey stick shape instead. Overall its a go to option when your SuperNova starts burn up, but still need that asymmetry motion.

I continue to be amazed at the technology and new ball released by Storm. The NOVA was my favorite got to ball form last year. It was a new core with R2S hybrid cover. You wonder if you can make something better well the released for the Absolute a start. This ball is going to be a hit. I have not been able to through in much, but the few times I did I was so impressed at the shape and continuation. This ball picks up and keeps going. The motion is smooth a bit cleaner the Nova with a strong backend motion and seems to continue through the pins. I have drilled several of the for league bowler of all styles and it just seems to find the pocket and strike. This will be a great addition to any arsenal and can be played on various parts of the lane. What a great addition to the Storm line.

This is a ball I have grown to like the more I used it. For me it fits in perfectly where I want a hybrid cover ball to fit in my arsenal. Longer than the solids but will see the lane earlier than the pearl balls. At first I mostly used in for transition games when the fronts start to go but my pearl isn't seeing it soon enough. And it worked great in games I would have struggled without it. As I have gotten more comfortable with it, I have started to put some good sets together. In houses where I can't use a big solid because of the friction, the Absolute gives me a good consistent roll. The ball is very predictable and definitely gives me a shape I was missing. the Absolute gives a good shape to carry both when I'm in my comfort zone (straighter up the lane) and when I have to chase left. This ball is always in my bag now.

The Storm Absolute features an all new Sentinel core with a new R2S Deep Hybrid coverstock finished with Reacta gloss. The Absolute in 15 lbs features a low RG of 2.48 with a diferential of .050 and an intermediate diff of .020. I put my go to layout of 5 x 4 x 2 in my Absolute which puts the pin just above my ring finger. The first night I threw the Absolute in league, I shot 750 with it bowling on your traditional house pattern which after a game and a half becomes very cliffed. The Absolute allowed me to make small parallel moves the whole night and keep my angles closed and stay in the tighter part of the lane. On my errant shots to the right, the ball made it back to the pocket but would often leave weak 10 pins. I tried a surface adjustment and hit it with 2000 grit to take the shine off to see the difference. To me the only big difference I saw was the errant shots to the right didn’t make it back to the pocket, they would leave a 2 pin or 2-10. I didn’t really see much difference when I kept the ball in the oil. Both surfaces read the lane equally well. This is a ball that has a lot of versatility built in to it, and the bowler can play around with surface changes to find the reaction they are looking for.

Absolute is the newest clean asym from Storm. Featuring the new R2S Deep Hybrid Cover, this ball creates a unique clean and smooth shape that is unlike anything else in the product line. The smoother shape gives me more forgiveness than a typical shiny asym, while still storing energy and continuing through the deck. The overall weaker coverstock formula makes the window of usability for this ball much larger than most bigger asyms as well. Overall, this ball will be great when the backends are flying or the lanes are hooking, but you still need something to calm down the friction while storing energy.

One of the latest additions to the Premier Line at Storm is the Absolute. With an RG of 2.48, differential of .050, and PSA of .020, the Absolute provides an awesome motion that compliments the line extremely well. With those numbers I listed above, that would historically tell me this ball wants to read the lane early. However, after using it for well over a month and in different centers along with on different patterns, the Absolute is much cleaner than expected. It’s in my arsenal for league as well as tournaments and I’ve been impressed so far.
I mapped out the Absolute as follows: 5 x 4.5 x 2. The pin is above my bridge and the mass bias was drilled out through my thumb. I’ve had the most success with the Absolute when the lane has allowed me to create shape and curve it. The most comparable ball that I can compare this too is the RST X2 from Roto Grip. The Absolute feels clean and has a quick response time, which is a perfect go-to from a Reality, Gem, or TNT. I also scratched the surface with a 3000 pad to create a little smoother motion and control the response time.
If you need a ball that’s clean, quick, has a big core, and can help you create shape down-lane, the Absolute is a ball you should drill!

I laid my absolute at 4- 4 1/4 -75. Its been awhile since we have seen a single density asymmetric core bowling ball and i am loving it. This hybrid is really clean through the front part of the lane and really creates some angle for me down lane. This ball likes to see the friction at the end of the pattern and i am enjoying using it on a typical house shot. Love the color scheme on the ball looks really cool going down lane. This ball will be in my bag for a time to come

Storm Absolute – all new Sentinel Core with the R2S DEEP coverstock – Box finish is with Reacta Gloss
My specs: Ball speed 15+, Rev rate 425, PAP 4 and up 13/16
Layout: 60 x 6 x 65 refinished with 2000ab, used on SPL and HPL lane surfaces with Typical house pattern – both with a BIG cliff on the end of the pattern.
First impression was “why do I need another asymmetrical ball”. My next impression was – why did I wait to so long to really dig into this ball, the Storm Absolute! As I stated earlier, I changed the surface because I noticed with the new Sentinel core and updated R2S coverstock – that the ball was a little late in reaction when I tried to swing the lane as much as I could, which is something I normally would have to do with strong asymmetrical balls like the Astro Physix, Parallax, and the Code series. Both the brains at Storm Bowling found that if you put evenly weight parts on the core at both ends, to me, that would cause the cover to remain unstable almost like if you added a weight puck on the core. By updating the very successful R2S with the DEEP update, which basically means that Storm made the cover for consistence because they made the additives all equal and balanced in amounts used. (More technical information at stormbowling.com) Back to on the regularly scheduled ball review, sorry – Got a little nerdy there! I realized watching a wide range of styles using the Storm Absolute during several Storm Matchmaker events, that the straighter you played, the better the Absolute worked and produced better overall carry and striking percentages. So, at a demo, I used the pro shop’s ball spinner and hit the surface with a fresh 2000ab pad and proceeded to play very straight up the track on the SPL that was there. The Absolute was no joke on worn out, beat up, no fresh oil in 2 days lanes that I practiced and bowled on a few days later. I was still able to play very straight forward up the track area and the Absolute moved a little earlier than the Exotic GEM and with a little more angle into the pocket. I feel that if you try to “hook” the whole, this ball would not be a good fit as a middle road/ “benchmark” ball. Like I said a little bit earlier – the straighter you play, the better the Storm Absolute is. The Absolute will travel with me in my tournament bag as ball #4 in the strength department. I hope you found this interesting and informative.

The Storm Absolute is the new clean and responsive asymmetric ball in the Storm Premier line. This ball features a new core and cover combo. The first thing that I noticed with this ball is really clean. The R2S deep is cleaner than other iterations of R2S and creates a strong aggressive shape downlane. The box surface is reacta gloss but if you want it to pick up a little sooner step two compound is a great way to shine it. The cover is also going to allow for surface changes very easily. When you compare this ball to the Infinite Physix, this ball is going to be longer downlane with more shape also. This is going to be a great step down from any of the big solid asym balls or if you are bowling on a lot of friction. This ball is going to be great for a variety of bowlers whether you are high speed or high rev rate. Get yours now at your local Storm VIP pro shop.

This ball took a little time to for me to understand. The motion is greatly different than anything else we have in the line. I messed around with surfaces for a while until I matched up with one. Out of the box I was not a fan. The ball was SUPER clean and once it hit the spot it went sideways. I needed it to be much sooner so I hit it with a 1500 pad. I used it there for a while, but It gave me a motion where I preferred the balls around it. I later hit it with a 3000 pad and BOOM, there it was. It then gave me a motion that was EXACTLY what I needed. I was able to start the night with it, playing straighter and continue chasing it left. Some nights I even loft the cap with it and it never hooks early and still peels off the spot. This new core and cover combo really allows the PSO to fine tune reaction with layout but it never hooks and bails!
For me, Misunderstood at first but now its LOVE!

The Storm Absolute was a ball I was super excited for when we first caught wind of it releasing! My first impression of the ball was a little confusing. Do not get it wrong, if you are looking for a ball that has that pop down lane while getting through the front and mid lane, then this is the perfect ball of choice! The R2S Deep Hybrid Coverstock paired with the new Sentinel Core is a great combo. Having a strong Diff and PSA helps this ball read the lane and give you the flare you desire.
For me, I had to bump down the surface. Generally with asymms for me, especially with a higher RG, pearls tend to be a bit over/under and that is what I noticed with this ball. After hitting it with a wet 2000 pad on the 4 ¾ inch ball, it looked a lot better and gave a more consistent motion! With the 3 ¾ inch ball and 2 inch pin buffer, it read much better and wanted to read the lane sooner, but if you are bowling at a place where it can be a bit wetter in the middle part of the lane, you might want to hit it with some surface! Anywhere from 2000 to 4000 grit is great on this ball, and you do not lose the backend reaction that this ball is known for!
Summary:
Overall, this ball gets an A minus! (A-) The Absolute is very clean through the fronts and gives a strong backend motion being a pearl asymmetrical ball! If you notice any over/under motion, hit it with a little bit of surface and it will create a little bit more pop hitting the dry. To compare to other equipment, the Absolute is a good step up from bowling balls such as the Phaze 2 or Zen Soul, and is a good step down from bowling balls such as the Gem or DNA. This ball loves friction and if you are bowling mainly on house shot conditions, I would recommend a stronger Pin buffer or Val angle to utilize the responsiveness of the Absolute. For the Pin-to-PAP and PSA-to-PAP, I recommend stronger angles/arcs if you want the ball to read the mids sooner, and longer angles/arcs if you want the ball to skid further down the lane!

I love this ball so far, especially on my house shot which is at a high friction house. I am a huge fan of the R2S coverstock in general and have loved everything that had any R2S on it. I have a pretty forward roll so this ball allows me to move more left without worry about dying out and leaving corner pins. For me, its also one of the more angular and sharper balls Ive thrown. As sharp as it looks to me, its also very controllable once you knock off a little bit of the shine. Its a great bridge between the high end asymmetrical balls like gem and exotic gem, and the symmetrics like Phaze 2 and Zen. It just wants to read the lane and make a left turn. It blends in the dry and hooks in the oil, which is why I absolutely (no pun intended) love it on house shots. Its also really versatile and can be used by all styles of bowlers.

The Absolute features the Sentinal core with the R2S coverstock. It also comes out of the factory at Storms new Reacta Gloss finish. In 15lbs the Absolute comes with an RG of 2.48 a Differential of 0.50 and an Intermediate diff of 0.21. With these core number being slightly higher on both the diff and intermediate diff and lower on the RG it means that this is a pretty aggressive core. The lower RG will make it wanna see the lanes a lot more front to back and left to right while the diff is making it a little higher on the flare potential side which makes this ball a hook monster core wise…. Except it is wrapped with the R2S Deep cover which up until now has only been seen overseas. The R2S deep cover is very similar to R2S just overall it’s a little bit cleaner. So that makes the reaction of the absolute a little bit more unique. It has the torque of most high end balls like the Exotic Gem and the Infinite Physix except with R2S Deep it is making it a lot cleaner which allows you to play the track of the lane a little bit longer without it wanting to hook to early on you. The closest ball to this in my memory was the AstroPhysix and if you liked that ball then chances are you will love the Absolute. I recommend getting yourself one you will not be disappointed!

The core and cover combination of the Absolute allows it to have a very unique ball reaction; even though the core is quite strong, the R2S deep allows the ball to float through the midlane without over-reacting. It has some midlane read, but does not jump when it first sees friction. In fact, on a house shot, this ball allows me to miss a couple boards right without the ball over-reading. For me, the optimal lane condition for the Absolute is pure medium oil, but it has uses on a variety of conditions. In medium-heavy oil conditions on higher friction surfaces, the core will be enough to motor this ball through the pattern. In medium-lighter conditions on lower friction surfaces, the weaker cover will make this ball a great choice. Due to the coverstock, this ball is weaker overall than balls such as the Exotic Gem or Infinite Physix.

With the numbers on the Sentinal Core of the Absolute, Rg: 2.48, Diff: .050, and PSA: .021, it would place this ball as a slightly weaker piece than the Reality line. Since R2S is one of the weaker pearl covers in the Storm line I didn’t know how clean this Deep Hybrid version would be compared to the other R2S pieces in the line. For me this core and cover combination gives me a stronger asymmetrical piece with a very clean cover for my speed and rev rate.
After drilling this ball with a stronger pin placement to combat the cleaner cover the out of box reaction was very clean on higher volumes of oil with less friction down the lane. After using it on the local house shots it was easy to see that for my speed and rev rate this ball needed to be used on lower volume house patterns or at centers with a lot of down lane hook or friction.
Over time I have changed the cover and removed the reacta gloss polish to help with how clean the cover is. This core and cover combination does give this ball a unique shape and allows lower rev rate players like myself to stay to the right, or in the dry longer, without the ball over reacting off the dry.

I’ve been eyeing this ball for a while. I have not bowled with it yet. The BowlersMart pro shop in Charlotte, NC messed up while drilling the ball causing the holes to be out of wack. Plugging and re-drilling may not be enough. They won’t replace my ball for me to get drilled somewhere else. My ball is now a heavy paperweight.

Perfect step down ball from the real strong stuff like my Reality. RS2 coverstock allows me to stay with a big ball core longer before having to go in symmetrical stuff. It's really a ball that fits a spot like no other ball on the market.

I continue to be amazed at the technology and new ball released by Storm. You wonder if you they can make something better well the released for the Absolute is a start. The ball is very predictable and definitely gives me a shape I was missing. The smoother shape gives me more forgiveness than a typical shiny asym, while still storing energy and continuing through the lane. I can use the Absolute both when I'm in my comfort zone playing straighter and when I have to chase left. This ball is a great benchmark ball to start with.

Yes, I am a low rev 15 LB bowler who only uses one ball for all three league games . It has enough hook potential , yet when I need it to go straighter for that 10 pin , I can easily do it. So far this Reacta gloss finish keeps the ball from absorbing oil . I am coming up from a 14 lb ball , so now when this 15 lb ball hits the pocket all 10 go down . I have more strikes now than before . I have been using it straight out of the box ( No surface changes ) Plus , my average has gone up 15 points so far after three months of use . Good Luck !

For being my first real, high-performance ball, this thing slaps hard. I love the core of this ball as it has allowed for major pin action on the backend and just carries heavy all the way through the pins.
I would recommend hitting the ball with a 1300 pad as soon as you get it. It really helped shape my shot to where I want it. You won't be disappointed with this ball!
I throw fast 15mph i basicly had to slow 11-12mph for the ball to act to the way I want. It took a while to get use to but after you learn the ball if great for oily lanes.

The ball came chipped in three different places. Now I have to pay more money to have it fixed.
