ME: Right Handed Tweener, Medium Revs, Medium Speed
Layout: Pin over Ring 60 x 5 x 30
I've had the opportunity to throw this ball in a few different houses. It's incredibly versatile and it hits a ton. The first ball I heard this compared to was the Marvel S. I was excited to get one on the lanes and was definitely not disappointed.
The TX-16:tm: Solid Reactive gives the ball enough teeth to grab the lane when the fresh oil is fresh but is clean enough for the ball to retain energy as you move left. The comparison to the Marvel S turned out to be a good one. I had the opportunity to throw the two balls next to each other and was very pleased with the result. Using the same target and release will get both balls to the pocket. The difference that stands out is the backend motion. The Marvel-S with the same layout is much smoother. The ball picked up a few feet earlier on the lane and slowed down more in the backend. The Phaze II can push through that spot and then really make it up, giving you more angle into the pins.
Probably the best feature of what is an overall great ball motion is this ball's ability to continue. It's one of those rare balls you can throw from first game to last even in the houses where you see alot of transition throughout the night. I've been continually amazed at how little I have to tinker with hand positions and speed as I move left. The ball picks up and hits the first game but still clears the heads and powers through the pins at the end of the night.
Overall this ball gets 5 stars. It's versatility and strength make it a must have. It's the ball that goes in my bag no matter which house or what lane condition I'm bowling on.
Storm is back with one of the strongest symmetrical balls released till this day, Phaze II. The Phaze II has a new TX-16 coverstock which is a brand new coverstock that is designed to conquer the heaviest of oils. It comes sanded at a 3000 abralon finish out of box. This ball will respond harder to the dry in the friction when you miss right and hook in the oil when you miss left giving you the ultimate miss room. The Phaze II uses the same core as the original Phaze, Velocity Core. This core is a fast revving core with a smooth motion off the breakpoint.
The Phaze II is definitely one of my favorite balls to date. It takes place of my favorite strong symmetrical ball, Marvel-S. The motions are very similar, but what I see is that the Phaze II has incredible hitting power and ultimate control. I also compared it to the Optimus Solid. The Optimus Solid had less overall hook and went a tad bit longer before hooking than the Phaze II. Comparing to the original Phaze, The Phaze II will hook quite a bit more and have a more predictable breakpoint to the pocket. With that new coverstock in the Phaze II, I've seen a much harder impact through the pins than the original Phaze.
I drilled my Phaze II with a dual-angle layout of 40?
I knew this ball was going to be special. In fact, I ordered 2 as soon as they were available. The first Phaze 2 I used a layout that works great for me on a variety of distances and volumes (45x4.5x40). I am saving my undrilled Phaze 2 for a rainy day. If you have ever thrown a Marvel-S, they motion is similar, but I would say the Phaze 2 is more versatile. The cover on the Marvel-S was so strong that at times it read the mids too soon. The Phaze 2 reads the mids unbelievably, and still has ample backend for you to move in. This ball makes the corner every time. If you need a ball to handle volume then stop by your local pro shop today and pick one of these up. StormNation!!
I absolutely love this bowling ball. It flat out carries everything! I am slightly speed dominant and have lower than average axis rotation. Out of the box the Phaze II with Storms all new TX-16 cover was a monster, pure hook. We use a high viscosity oil in our bowling center, so the box finish was a tough match up to the pattern. Maybe on slicker oil the out of box would work great or less rotation/ higher ball speeds. I used a 4.5 inch pin under, 45 degree cg and a small/deep static hole on my VAL and wow....This ball hits hard! The "Velocity" block spins up effortlessly in the mid-lane and detonates in the pocket. I am a ball driller first and a bowler second, so I don't claim to be a pro on the lanes. With that in mind, my last four sets have been 705,708, 611(being honest, not a good night) and 774 with a 299....crazy. I'm telling you, go get this ball....you will not be disappointed. I can't wait to drill this for my customers! #stormnation
Orientation: Right Handed
Rev Rate: 375 RPM

Finish: 3000 grit
Flare potential: 5" ? 6" HIGH
Lane conditions: 44 ft. house pattern with 2015 Flex with Fire and Ice conditioner on older HPL installed in early 2000's.
Test results: The ball hooked more than expected in the backend, like 3-4 boards more that my Marvel S or original Marvel. The core and combo suits me better than the PHAZE, the ball has a TON of hook and the motion is great midlane and down lane. I put 5000 3-M on it to smooth it up a little and it tweaked it enough that is was not hooking too much entering the pocket. Standing 30, looking at 7-9 down lane at about 45 feet was the sweet spot for me and this ball. The in house demo ball that I used was label and polished with react a shine make it just a touch more angular, not really enough to justify keeping the ball with polish on it for me. Better results if you need a ball that would hook though a rain storm of oil, this is the ball. Serious hook for the serious bowlers.
The Phaze 2 is the newest addition to Storm's Master Line of Bowling Balls. The Phaze 2 is powered by the Velocity Core. The Velocity Core was also in the original Phase but the difference is in the TX-16 solid reactive coverstock. The marriage of the Velocity Core and TX-16 creates a strong but versatile ball motion. The layout I chose to go with is pin in the ring finger with cg kicked out with a low hole. I believe the coordinates for the dual angle are 50 X 5 X 50 and that is off my PAP which is 5 5/8 over and 5/8 up.
I had the opportunity to throw the Phaze 2 and several other bowling balls within the Master line to witness the differences on a couple of different patterns. I was really interested in how the Phaze 2 would compare to the IQ Solid and the Optimus Solid. The biggest difference that noticed right away was the versatility and the continuation on the backend. I was able to chase the pattern left with no hesitation with the Phaze 2 even with my 300 rev rate and medium ball speed. The Phaze 2 might not roll as early as the IQ Tour solid or read the mid lane like the Optimus Solid but the backend motion is better than those two bowling balls. I was able to use the Phaze 2 on a typical House Pattern and move into the wall and bounce the Phaze 2 off the friction and move left and the ball still hit! The fun part was throwing the Phaze 2 on a flatter pattern and there was a distinct difference again. The IQ Tour Solid was a beast on the fresh providing traction and room to strike. However, when carry down occurred mixed with the heads burning up, the IQ Tour was either too early or just did not have enough on the backend to make the turn. The Phaze 2 had no problem going through the carry down and was still continuous off the pin deck. The combination of the Velocity Core and the TX-16 shell makes this possible because the low RG value and bigger differential compared to the IQ Tour. The Phaze 2 has made its way into my bowling bag because of its power and versatility!
The Phaze 2's unique ball roll will only add to the already wide range of bowling ball choices that are provided by Storm Products in the Master Line. GET PHAZED IN!
This ball was Drilled 4x4x2. PAP is 3 1/2 x 1 1/2. I threw this ball on White #2 Pattern. I must say that I found this ball to be about 10 boards stronger than the No Rules. I placed a light polish on the ball and it was about even with the No Rules in shear hook. The ball rolls very smoothly and has an excellent break point. It is not overly sharp like you see in a lot of High Performance Balls. This ball was very smooth through the front part of lane with tremendous hook potential on the back-end. Over the last 3 weeks I have average 235 with this ball.
I'm a 59-year old right hander. I have medium speed with 255 rpm rev rate. I prefer to use similar layouts in my equipment. I drilled the phase 2, pin up 50x40x35. I like this ball as it comes off the spot very strong. It reads the lane even if you do not put or have a lot of hand in it. The first set out of the box was 783. This is the ball that I start with every night on a fresh shot. You can move left and swing the ball. When the lanes start to break down and hook too much you can go to the original phase and roll the same line. The phase line is excellent for lower rev bowlers who are looking for a consistently rolling ball. I like the weigh block in the phase line. I will continue to buy every ball that has this weight block.
The Phaze II is the new ball in the Master Line from Storm. I drilled mine
4 1/4 x 5 x 4 1/4 pin down. First off the Phaze II is totally different shape from the original Phaze. With the new TX-16 (Traction-X 2016) coverstock the Phaze II rolls a little early but for a solid coverstock in has plenty left for the backend. The ball needs a little oil up front to shine, but I was very impressed with the continuation downlane, even on the miss right shots. The Phaze carries extremely well. As a lot of staffers have mentioned that it reminds them of the Marvel S, I'd agree but Phaze II has a lot more backend motion. Another great ball for Storm.

Phaze II Ball Review by PJ Haggerty
When we received word the Phaze II was going to be very similar to the Marvel-S, I was pumped. I was and still am a big fan of the Marvel-S, but now that we have the Phaze II to use, it was an easy transition to drill and not have a missing hole in my bag. With a strong symmetrical core and a low RG, the Phaze II is a ball players will be able to use on multiple lane conditions.
I've drilled two so far and they are as follows: 4 ?
Storm Phaze II
Layout: pin below the bridge cg out to the right 1inch. Oob condition
Lane conditions: 40 ft ths, hpl
This ball is a heavy rolling ball for me, not one of the huge boomerang hooking balls. It keeps the pins low and packs a punch. I can use it when the lanes are playing a little tighter and I need to play the lanes a bit straighter. The shelf appeal for this ball is great being a red/ blue/purple combo with a red velvet cake fragrance. This ball is available now. Go see you local pro shop operator today, you won't be disappointed. Bowl up a Storm

The Phaze II is a piece like no other out! It is nothing like the original Phaze. The Phaze II gets into a strong early roll and backends a ton downlane. On a light oil pattern I have to move way right to hold the pocket. The Phaze II reminds me a lot of the Marvel S, except the Phaze II is stronger with more backend. If you're looking for a strong symmetrical for heavy oil, the Phaze II is the ball! Don't miss out on the new Phaze!
The Phaze 2 joins the Master line, and is a solid version of the Phaze. This is a ball I knew had to be coming, as good as the Phaze was, I was greatly anticipating a solid version, and it does not disappoint. I'm finding it to be a stronger and earlier version of the Rocket Ship. At box surface, it handles heavier volumes well, and with a little polish, it plays on medium conditions also. It's a very versatile ball, it's virtually the perfect benchmark ball for heavier conditions. It does all the right things in all the right places, it has great midlane traction, but isn't too early, and has a strong arc on the backend without being too sharp or too smooth. The solid cover responds very well to adjustments, and this is just a very easy ball to get to the pocket.

The Phaze II has the same Velocity Core that was used in the original Phaze, bit uses the new TX-16 coverstock.
I drilled my Phaze II with a four-inch pin, with a three-inch pin buffer and no weight hole. After a few shots with this ball, I knew it was something special. The last time I liked a ball this much, this quickly, it was the IQ tour. The TX-16 cover is strong, but very versatile. The Phaze II has a very smooth controllable motion that still drives on the backend. I would compare the shape to what the IQ Nano was, only with more backend.
I have used the Phaze II on a number of league patterns as well as many flatter sport patterns. It has quickly earned a spot in my bag everywhere I go and I see myself bringing at least one of them to Las Vegas for the USBC Open Championships tournament.

The Storm Phaze II is the newest edition to the Master line and provides a great addition to the series. While the Phaze and Phaze II share the same namesake and Velocity Core, the similarities between the two stop there. The Phaze II comes equipped with the all new TX-16 cover that provides excellent traction in the slick part on the lane while still retaining energy well enough to make a nice strong move down lane. This cover/core combination is a superb pairing and the Phaze II is the perfect blend of benchmark ball and strong solid. The lower rev players and strokers will find this ball to be plenty strong and will be pleased with its overall hook. The higher rev and faster speed players will find that this ball gives the player a nice consistent read of how the oil pattern plays and is definitely strong enough to throw on fresh oil. Many players have compared this ball to the infamous Marvel-S. While there are similarities, the Phaze II is cleaner through the front part of the lane and saves energy much better than the Marvel-S. It's a wonderful edition to Storm's lineup and is often the first ball out of my bag no matter where I'm bowling.
I drilled up my Phaze II the same as my original Phaze, 75 x 5 x 35 which is my favorite drilling for stronger balls as they retain energy in the back end of the lane more this way for me. I noticed right away how much stronger the Phase II is compared to the original Phaze. I get continuous motion and can play multiple angles with this ball as long as there is enough head oil present. The Phaze II is a great compliment to the original as an early reading versatile piece of equipment.

The Phaze 2 is Storms newest release in their Master Line. The Phaze 2 contains the Velocity core. The ball is covered with the TX-16 reactive cover and is finished with a 3000 grit matte finish.
I drilled my Phaze 2 with the pin to the right of my ring finger and the CG in my palm. I wanted to be able to play straighter with this ball on heavier oil. The goal was to be able to keep the ball in front of me and not give away the pocket. This ball pretty much does that but I can open the lanes up when it asks for it. The Phaze 2 reads the midlane real well and has fantastic hitting power through the pins. The ball handles well and I could only imagine how well it would react if I put a stronger layout on it for me. It only has about a 3 inch pin so the flare potential is pretty low on the one I drilled.
I recommend this ball for a bowler who needs something to handle oil. This ball reads the mids very well but also handles more medium volume and length patterns. It's a great overall versatile ball.
This has to be one of my favorite balls on the market. This is the strongest symmetrical bowling ball in the Storm line. This ball can be used on House shots and/or short, medium and long sport patterns. The ball really blends out the lane patterns well and gives the bowler significant control. It is easy to see the adjustments needed when using this ball. This ball is smooth and predictable. To show how much I love this ball I already own 3 of them!!!
Here to talk about the new phaze2 from storm, first off amazing ball something I felt storm was missing in there line up,i absolutely love this ball.I didn't mind the original phaze only probably this ball had was oil, soon as it hit a little to much oil ball pushed like crazy a lot of skid not enough flip injoyed it on a lot more fresh backends. Now back to phaze 2 lol, this ball didn't have any trouble in the oil lots of midlane with tons of motion down lane, reminds me of marvel s another ball I injoyed a lot of lol.phaze 2 seems to have little more motion down lane but very strong arcing motion thow nothing to crazy .ive used this ball a lot and a lot of different lane conditions play all over and the ball seem to still have enough energy and still made it threw the pins with lots of carry.drilled mine 60x4 1/2x40 and im loving it for sure a awesome ball to have and a must in the bag for any bowler.
Hi Y'all.... Stefanie Johnson here.... So with my recent switch to Roto Grip / Storm I have to say that this ball in particular reminds me a lot of my Ebonite GB3 (which I took everywhere!) having said that, this ball is super versatile for me and I have thrown it on a few different pattern distances and volumes. Overall just a GREAT ball to have!

This is the ball you want in your bag. No matter what. It's so versatile. It's strong, reads the midlane exceptionally, and has great hitting power through the pins. There's a reason you see it everywhere out on tour and in most bowling centers. It's been a staple in the Storm line for a number of years now. I've drilled a few of these for a variety of conditions and have yet to be disappointed.
By far the most reliable and dependable ball on the market. This ball is a staple of greatness. I’ve drilled multiple and not a single one has disappointed. It’s all round strength yet controllability is second to none. Great for playing them straight on longer patterns. Great for opening up on the burn or medium patterns. And great for rolling it on short patterns. 10/10 would recommend this ball to anyone!
This ball is an excellent step up from a bench mark ball. Strong and continuous but still controllable. Gotta love the scent too!
Simply put one of the best Storm balls ever made. There’s a reason you see guys on tv with this ball listed in their arsenal every show. Strong versatile consistent.
The Phaze II could possibly be the best ball on the market it since its launch. The Phaze II fits a broad spectrum of styles, from the high rev rate big curve people to the low rev rate up the lane people. If you do no have a Phaze II in your bag, even if you only have one ball, you are missing out

Wanted to go one pound lighter to see how it would feel (15 lbs. to 14 lbs.). Researched the best 1-2 bowling balls to start, then transition for our league. The Phaze II & Phaze III fit the bill perfectly! At the lighter weight, I can feel the ball much more. My "experiment" went better than expected!
Nicholas Smith May 13, 2021
Was looking for a great all around motion ball. I had always heard how controllable, yet versatile this ball was and kept putting off buying one. Finally a few weeks ago punched it and bam, instantly became the favorite in my arsenal. Game 1 of league, transition, heavy volume patterns, doesn’t matter. This ball excels at controlling wet dry/over-under and blending the pattern.

I recently learned how to throw a hook, and this ball makes me feel a notch above being a rank amateur. I can now hold my own with the better bowlers in my league. The storm phase 2 is powerful and attacks the pins with force and energy to spare. Pun intended.

I've been bowling with a Phaze II since January 2024. By far my new favorite ball to use. I’ve got an IQ Tour Ruby that is also good, however the Phaze II has taken over.
I’d been looking at different custom bowling balls for a while as I had really gotten into the sport over the last couple years. Throughout my research i’d kept hearing and seeing the “Phaze 2” continuously brought up and made mention, despite the fact that its a 7 year old ball. And after careful selection and trying it out for myself, I made the decision to purchase the “Phaze 2” as my first custom strike ball, and BOY it doesn’t disappoint!! Such a well balanced ball especially for someone like myself who is still a beginner. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who loves to put some hook down the lane but doesn’t quite know what suits them best yet.

I've been bowling for 2 months and my friends suggested to buy the phaze2. Now that I know what kind of bowler am I can use the ball to it's full potential and it's amazing. I am a left handed stroker with low rev rate , I can play any lanes with this ball heavy or medium oil. I don't even have to go on the sides stayed more on the 20s for 5 games. This ball can be for beginners or pro. Get yourself a phaze2

Greatest ball of all time. Bought this for my friend because he saw me perform well in a tournament with it and he’s seen me consistently do well over time with it. After drilling everything to his specs, he loved the ball too.

Everyone knows how great this ball is, and for it be available was a chance I was not going to pass up

Awesome ball for the price. It did not disappoint. Considering buying another one as a back up.

This ball is referred to as the GOAT. I have only thrown this ball for one game in practice so far, and I think it will be great like everyone told me. Cannot pass up on the sale price since I needed a symmetrical solid ball.

The Storm Phase II is a changer. I had a 135 average, but increased my average by 80 pins on first day that I used this new ball. I was even able to pick up all of my spares, without having use change balls. My Storm Phase II was as advertised!!

Just got the phase 2 drilled bowled 3 games on medium to heavy oil noticeable difference from my Roto grip hustle rip both balls serve a purpose for different lane conditions

I've only bowled three games with it so far, from those three I like the way it grabs the lain on the front end with a strong back end.

Always a great price from BowlersMart! Love how fast my orders get to me after I place my orders.
Ordered two balls which were in the same box, so that ensured they both arrived at the same time with zero damage to the box!!
Needed two mid strength solid balls for my arsenal and these got to my house quick!! Love it!! :) I will definitely order more in the future!!

Why the different cores between the 12 or 13lbs and the 14, 15 , 16lbs balls ?

Very disappointed in ball. Didn’t carry or hook on oil. Gave it away after three uses.

This ball was great out of the box. Very controllable with smooth mid lane reaction and continuation through the pins.

I've had this ball for about a year and it has gotten me through the start of my bowling career. Its truly an amazing ball that I would 100% recommend anyone to buy for a first strong ball. I still sometimes use it but being a 2 hander and needing a stronger ball I have started to use the Ion Max which is also an amazing ball aswell.
