As with any Tropical Surge it is hard to surpass the performance on drier lanes, or short oil patterns. I cannot explain the difference with the purple color/composition, however with the EXACT same parameters and drilling the purple Surge has a noticeably different reaction than my others (I own every one made). And with the consistency of BowlersMart customer service and award program why buy from any other supplier.?
Got this for my 9 yo who weighs 60lbs and he handles it very nicely and love the grape smell too! He rolls 2 handed and gets nice spin out of it even with it being a 10lber and a basic core (advanced cores are apparently only inside 12lbs balls & up). Sure it'd be nicer if it hit harder, but that's what you get with a 10lb ball. Worth it if you're just starting for sure!
