Performance Analysis
The Storm Hy-Road Pearl combines the proven Inverted Fe2 symmetric core with Storm’s R2S Pearl Reactive coverstock to deliver consistent performance on medium oil lane conditions. With an RG of 2.57 and differential of .046, this ball provides excellent length through the front part of the lane while maintaining enough energy to create a controlled backend reaction. The 1500 grit polished surface allows the ball to clear the heads cleanly while providing sufficient traction in the midlane for a predictable transition to the backend.
The symmetrical core design makes the Hy-Road Pearl highly versatile and forgiving, allowing bowlers to play multiple angles and adjust to changing lane conditions throughout a session. The R2S Pearl coverstock strikes an ideal balance between length and backend motion, making this ball an excellent benchmark option for competitive play. While the hook potential is moderate compared to more aggressive asymmetric pieces, the predictability and versatility of the Hy-Road Pearl made it a staple in many bowlers’ arsenals during its production run.

Bowlers frequently mention:
I don't know what the R & D in Utah are doing, but wow they have really out done themselves with this one! I have had 5 hyroads since it was released and loved everyone of them. When the pearl came out, I could not wait to get ahold of one. It is about 3-4 feet further down the lane with 5-6 boards more backend than the original hyroad. I'm sure I will be buying at least 5 of these too!
After owning a few Hy-Roads I was extremely excited when this was announced! This has to be one of the cleanest bowling balls I have ever thrown! Gets through the heads flawlessly and then gets off the back of the pattern and peels off. Definitely a great compliment to the original! My only complaint is that after a few months on most of my Storm equipment the fingers begin to spider crack. I always thought it was just a ball to ball issue, but it does seem to happen more often than not.
I really don't know why I was surprised this ball was good when I got it..I guess thinking that nothing was going to be better than the Original Hyroad kinda put a doubt in my head. But I was very surprised at how well this ball compliments the Hyroad.. I dont know much about covers and what not..solids, pearls, hybrids, etc...but the Hyroad Pearl laid out the same as my Hyroad is longer and more of a sharper motion on the back end.. I originally thought the Hyroad was a pearl ball and didn't realize what I was missing in my bag was a true pearl ball reaction...this was a great buy for me, and it smells good to boot.
Hyroad Pearls were the natural extension from the original Hyroad that I think everyone expected for 3-4 years running. But the original Hyroad proved to be so good that it just kept selling. Finally the Hyroad Pearl came to market and it's exactly what you would expect. Same big mid lane revving motion with that signature hard arc down lane. It's definitely not skid/flip. It's the big continuous ball motion that Storm has owned for the last 4-5 years. I do find this ball to be a little lengthier than the Hyroad Pearl. It's also got a little more defined break point than the Hyroad, giving is some ability to play steeper angles at times. Very solid addition for Storm players wanting what they expect from a pearlized ball.
The Hyroad series speaks for itself. They have been around since 2008 and have been big sellers ever since. Hence the reason they’re still making them. The Hyroad Pearl is clean through the fronts and makes sure to store enough pop to get those corners out! R2S Pearl is easily one of my favorite pearl covers of all time!!
