I have the Emerald IQ, but this one caught my eye. I really like the color and not in a rush to drill.

I am so excited for the all new !q Ruby! I have been a huge fan of the !q line since the original !q Tour was released back in 2012. This !q Ruby features the same core and cover (R2S Pearl) as the !q Emerald, !q 30, and the original !q Tour Pearl (goldie). The Ruby is the same motion that you expect out the !q line, but the Ruby features a great vibrant ruby red color and Berry Splash scent that has not been on any of the !q balls to this point. This ball is going to be a must have for all fans of any of the !q bowling balls, make sure you go out and get yours March 17th!

Wow this ball is a piece of art.. i Drilles this ball to flare alittle more then my other IQ pieces and man it made a difference… shot 793 out of the box and i could play straighter early in the night and when moved 15 left it still made the corner great!! THIS IS ANOTHER IQ AND PIECE THAT STORM MADE THAT WILL BE AROUND FOREVER

The iQ Ruby is one of those releases where I was really excited to get it. After drilling it up, I am even more excited to put some scores up with it. Compared to the original emerald,it is extremely similar, but a tad sharper! This will help you snap out a few more corner pins. It features the R2S coverstock, and the Centripetal symmetrical core. All in all, this is a balanced ball that will be useable on a variety of patterns. It will not disappoint you!

Storm’s new IQ Tour Ruby is a Symmetrical Pearl piece that is good for Light-Medium conditions. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Rev Rate: 400. Speed: 16.5. Drilled this piece with the Pin up between the fingers and CG kicked out 1” from the palm. Out of Box ball motion is clean through the fronts with a smooth motion on the backend. I took a 2k and 3k Abralon afterwards and it was still clean through the fronts with a few more boards stronger on the backend. I compared this piece to the Night Road, Fate, and Revenant. The Night Road was 3-3 stronger and sharper on the backend. Fate was 3-3 stronger. Revenant was 2-2 more than the IQ Tour Ruby.

The !Q Tour Ruby is the newest addition to the !Q line series. For me the !Q Tour Ruby fits right below the Hyroad Pearl. The R2S Pearl Coverstock paired with the proven Centripetal Control Core will allow me straighter on the fresh and move deep inside on the burn.I tested this ball on a 43 feet typical house pattern. As mid to low rev player l was able to stand right of center on the fresh and as far left as 28 board on the burn without losing any carrying power. This ball will be in my bag for league and tournaments. Order one from your local pro shop today! My ball review videos are posted on YouTube channel Stanley Waite.

IQ Tour Ruby is more like the IQ Tour Gold than the IQ 30 or Emerald. The darker IQ 30 and Emerald both stood up a little quicker and got forward. Jerk and Snap. The Gold and Ruby being lighter both hit the dry but the stay a little more round and continuous. I’ve liked all the IQ Tour PEARLS and the Ruby is no exception.

One of the most popular lines is back with the IQ Ruby. Place this core with any cover and it's an instant hit. Similar in cover to the Emerald we see the newer polish on the Ruby. This ball will be a great transition ball and most likely will be the weakest ball I bring to league or tournament play.
It was about a 4 board difference to the right against the DNA. The ball is clean and continues very well. We had been missing this performance within the SPI line as the Emerald has been discontinued for nearly 4 years. This ball provides a great benchmark shape and will essentially be a step down off the Phasze 5, Zen or Fate. Those who love the IQ line; the Ruby will provide that same great anticipated benchmark controllable reaction.

I will first start off by saying that I don't use the IQ level balls very often due to my higher ball speed and longer league pattern but I was extremely impressed by the new IQ Ruby. This ball gave me a lot of vibes of the IQ Gold and a more angular IQ Emerald. The reacta gloss actually makes this ball considering the Core and Coverstock are the same as the balls mentioned previously.
I was able to review this ball along side the DNA on the same lane and house pattern. The IQ Ruby was an obvious step down from the DNA but didn't quite show as much. I was able to go straight to the DNA from the same line on the lane and saw a lot of midlane traction with a strong backend motion. I was very surprised to see how much this one hooked in the back part of the lane. I was able to control the friction with this ball if I got it to the dry a little quick while it still read the oil strong if I missed in the oil downlane. The IQ Emerald, although used, saw smoother downlane motion from the same line but more inconsistent reaction overall. When I missed in the oil, it had a lot of trouble getting back up the hill to get to the pocket flush. The IQ Ruby had no problem doing this at all. I can actually see myself potentially using this on broken down house patterns and later in tournaments where the volume is still on the medium to higher side. This is a huge benefit for me because I still get the control I need while still seeing the midlane hook which is needed on the patterns. Anyone who is a fan of the IQ series will surely love this ball.

The !Q series continues on with the new !Q Tour Ruby. This updated version of the !Q series features the all new Reacta Gloss finish applied to the R2S coverstock. If you have enjoyed the !Q series this is a must have. If you are looking for a great reaction on a variety of house patterns the !Q Tour Ruby is sure to be a winner for most styles of bowling.
I've enjoyed the oob Reacta Gloss finish on this ball. In comparison to the 1500 polish finish the all new Reacta Gloss finish appears to be cleaner through the fronts and more controlled in comparison to the iQ Tour Emerald with the 1500 polish finish. The !Q Tour Ruby provides nice length and great punch with a high degree of control.
In my opinion, the iQ Tour Ruby and the !Q Tour Emerald are slightly different in overall reaction due to the Reacta Gloss finish. The Emerald is about 1-2 feet earlier and slightly stronger off the spot. Both balls fit nicely in the arsenal. Your Ruby upgrade/replacement will not disappoint.
The !Q Tour Ruby is a nice addition for any arsenal and you'll likely find a spot in the bag for most medium and THS patterns. The blend of length, overall strength and control provides a lot of options for this piece. The !Q Tour Ruby is quickly becoming one of my favorite balls in the bag. The Storm IQ Tour Ruby features R2S Pearl Cover, C3 Centripetal Control Core, and comes with reacta gloss finish. First off, this balls looks and smells amazing. Honestly, I do not match up with the IQ line very well. I have thrown the IQTS and Emerald with both of them being so quick/sharp off the spot that I leave a million 9 pins. Throwing the Ruby, it has a more midlane reaction which smooths it out for me. This was great news for me because it allows me to get right and be able to control the lane. I compared it to the Phaze 5 and Revenant. The P5 was much earlier which made it a smoother shape but the Revenant was close in shape for me but a bit earlier. Compared to the emerald, I have it a touch stronger and reads the lane a little earlier. This ball is a home run for Storm.

What more can be said about the second longest production ball about the famed iQ Tour. Everyone has either had one or multiple iQ Tours and not just the Solid. iQ Tour Gold & Emerald were super popular among members of the bowling community was well and now with the introduction of the Ruby we have a cleaner shape in the iQ line that we have been missing. I drilled mine 5 x 5 x 3 and my first impressions of throwing this ball is that its a shape in my bag that I don’t have. Now wasn’t a huge fan of either of Gold or Emerald but I absolute love the Blue so I tried to keep the thoughts of the other two out of my head and decided to drill this pin up because I felt the other two were a little more over under for me. I love using the iQ Tour Solid on the fresh on a number of different patterns but when I have to open my angles up it loses some hitting power because of the lower diff in the ball, now with the introduction of the Ruby I am able to keep my angles in front of me a little longer in blocks because of the pearl cover stock so it gives a little more pop off the back end. I believe this ball will be popular among all skill levels of bowlers and you don’t want to miss out!

The IQ series is legendary. The Emerald IQ was one of my favorite balls of all time and now we have a Ruby IQ that is simply a different color. The Ruby provides a fair amount of mid-lane control for a super shiny ball, yet still somehow has a sharp breakpoint off the spot. In terms of shiny midpoint balls in our lineup, I have the Ruby a fair amount stronger than the Revenant, which is much cleaner and tends to be more useful on higher friction environments.
The Ruby has already taken a prime spot in my bag and is the first ball out in many situations. The IQ series has always been great for a variety of styles for their forgiveness and long window of usefulness. I expect the Ruby to be no different.

The !Q Tour Pearl is back…!Q Tour Ruby is a remake of the !Q Tour Pearl and !Q Tour Emerald just now in the red color and amazing berry blast fragrance! You get exactly what you would expect out of a pearl !Q Tour. Clean through the heads and quick downlane. The C3 Centripetal Control Core along with the R2S pearl coverstock allow this ball to really float downlane before making its motion. The Ruby can be a really valuable piece on many conditions once the lanes have transitioned and there is a ton of friction developed. Having an !Q in the bag is always a high !Q play!

Well what can I say about this ball?!!
I will start by saying I believe this is the BEST !Q Tour Pearl ever made!
The Gold, and Fusion were 2 of my favorites and the Emerald is another of my favorites. This RUBY seems to incorporate all 3 wrapped into 1!
This for me falls in between the Goldy and Emerald meaning:

The cheater ball is back! The along awaited IQ Ruby is here. It’s been a long wait but let me tell you it was worth it. The Ruby is not one to disappoint. It has the typical IQ shape that we have all come to love. It’s smooth with some moderate length. Has that nice, rounded motion and strong off the spot and good continuation on the backend. I for me the Ruby would be a good transition ball form say the Zen or Fate however, one could start with this ball right out of the bag. The Ruby will be a great choice for various play styles. It’s very controllable and doesn’t seem overact off the spot although it is a bit sharper than the IQ Emerald. I recommend the Ruby for anyone looking to add a new Pearl to their arsenal.

IQ TOUR RUBY just amazing ball !!! It's at this moment my favourite 2023 ball. It's more for the dryers conditions than oilest. I can play straight front of me or really all across the lane too and it's always a lot predictable. When it hit the backend, she always give just to good amount of hook even if in on the oilest center of the lane or on the side where is dryer so he give a big flexibility. When he hit the pins, she give me the impression that he push all the pins on the back. The 10th pin don't ofen stay on the lane according how it hits. It's the perfect house shot ball for all bowler styles. Like the originale Iq tour, it's impossible that you don't have a Ruby on your bag when you go on the tournament road. For sure I will keep some on backup for futur. #stormnation

While testing and using in a league setting, I found the Storm iQ Ruby to have a similar reaction to my Roto Grip Hyped Pearl. Fits well as a pearl benchmark ball for about every bowler out there. With the proven core of the C³™ Centripetal Control Core and the ever so popular R2S™ Pearl Reactive coverstock. Using it on a fresh house pattern at Colony Park Lanes it was very predictable, read the pattern quite well and rolled it on the fresh and then after I used up the pattern with the new Roto Grip TNT and new Storm DNA, even with the carry down, the iQ Ruby still had a good reaction where other pearls I have used would had skidded through the carry down. My practice session was over 2 hours and from start to finish the iQ Ruby held up very well. I will say that comparing my notes on the iQ Emerald and iQ Gold, the Ruby fits right between them. As I remembered, my Gold tended to hyper skid and not recover, and the Emerald rolled up a smidge earlier. The iQ Rubys that are in the demo sets I have used and seen have held up remarkably well with the Reacta Gloss on them. The iQ ruby is the first Reacta Gloss finished ball that I kept at the OG box condition.

IQ ruby compared to my revenant and hyped Pearl
the IQ Ruby is a ball you can start out with on medium to high friction lanes for me it’s a strong symmetrical pearl which I can ball down to my revenant which is smoother through the fronts or if the lanes really dry up I can go to my Hyped Pearl which is the weakest of the three

The !Q Tour Emerald was probably my favorite ball Storm ever made. If you’re like me and you’ve been waiting… no, praying for Storm to bring it back, you got your wish. The !Q Tour Ruby is everything the Emerald was with a significant added improvement.
The application of the Reacta-Gloss polish on the R2S makes this ball even cleaner though the heads. And while you think that would create problems at the end of the pattern, it definitely does not.
I use the same 45x4.25x35 layout that I put on the Emerald. I get that super quick response on the backend I’m looking for without the worry of an over/under reaction.
As you would expect, the ball doesn’t perform extremely well on heavy volume patterns. Like the Emerald, I’ve found this ball to be extremely dependable on higher ratio patters, low volume patterns and later on in longer squads when I need to chase the pattern in.
I don’t know who I have to hug at Storm for reincarnating this beauty, but they’ve made me so happy!

Another IQ?? More like…another IQ!!!!! The IQ Ruby features the tried and true, highly successful C3 Centripetal Control symmetric core wrapped in the R2S Pearl reactive coverstock. The 15 pound Ruby has a RG of 2.49 and a differential of .029. Why mess with perfection…I drilled my Ruby with my favorite layout: 5 x 4 x2. I’m not sure there is a better line of balls that are more predictable, controllable, and successful than the IQ’s. On tough sport shots, burnt up house shots, and everything else, you know what the IQ is going to do. The pearl coverstock provides the clean push through the front part of the lane, the low differential keeps the ball on line through the midlane and provides a smooth, controlled arcing backend to the pocket and through the pins. When comparing the Ruby to the IQ solid, the Ruby goes about 3 feet longer with a more continuous backend motion. For me the Ruby is about 3 boards overall less hook than the solid. If you had the Emerald, it’s time for you to get the Ruby!

IQ Tour Ruby is the return of a familiar favorite: R2S Pearl paired with the Centripetal core. The shape this ball creates is unique. It revs up in the midlane because of the low RG, low diff core, but it stores energy and creates a ton of angle off the spot due to the cleaner cover. This ball compliments other pearl symmetricals in our line by being more angular than the Phaze V but overall still a step down from the Zen. If they are hooking a little bit to start, this ball always gives me a great look that I can get back from anywhere while still keeping the pins low and splitting the 8-9.
United States
Another extremely useful option to the Storm line is the IQ Ruby. Not only does this ball look great from a shelf appeal standpoint, but the performance has also been great. The IQ series has had a bunch of home runs over the last several years and the IQ Ruby certainly fits that bill. I’ve seen all types of styles having success with the Ruby and it should be a ball you should add to your arsenal.
I’ve drilled one so far and really like it. I’ve mapped it out as 5.5 x 3.75 x 2. This puts the pin in between my bridge/middle finger and a big shift of the CG toward my PAP. Just looking at the numbers of the ball (2.49 / .029), this tells me the ball isn’t going to flare a ton, but will still dig in the mid lane. The numbers also indicate this is a ball I’m going to use after a pattern goes through some transition, the stronger balls become too strong, and it’s time to use some shape through the pins. I scratched the surface lightly with a 3000 pad and the Ruby continues to come off the spot nicely down lane.
If you need a ball for older lane surfaces, lighter volumes, or something to compliment your Reality, DNA, or Gem, go drill an IQ Ruby!

The Storm iQ Ruby continues the legacy of the iQ line. The sparkling red cover catches your eye then the performance on the lane is reminisce of the ball motion we have all come to expect. The iQ Ruby combines the proven R2S pearl cover with the C3 core. First impression is a little more hook than the iQ Emerald. Maybe the red color? I can see myself going to the iQ Ruby once my Phase V becomes too strong. I threw it in league last night. The only negative was it would recover when tugged into the oil; however, the iQ Ruby wasn’t designed for that purpose so not surprising. My overall impression was the iQ Ruby is a great addition to the Storm line of bowling balls.

The Pearl IQ Tour is back! The new Storm IQ Tour Ruby brings back the legendary R2S Cover and C3 core. This combination gives you the legendary mid-lane roll and continuation of the C3 core with the QUICK change of direction and SHARP movement down-lane that makes R2S the most successful cover in the business.
I tested the IQ Tour Ruby on our house pattern. My home center uses a longer, higher volume pattern. It definitely has plenty of shape to it, but the volume of oil they need to counteract the friction in the heads is pretty substantial. This can often make transition very difficult to navigate. The fronts still open up pretty quickly but the lanes can stay pretty tight down-lane. Many weeks the balls that see the front of the lane are only in play for a game at most because they begin to read the front too much but won't recover down-lane. The bad part is going to cleaner equipment in the transition often makes the over/under down-lane hard to score on because getting it right a little too soon causes the ball to over-react and not getting it far enough right can cause the ball to skate past the breakpoint because the back-ends don't develop at the same rate. The IQ Ruby serves as a perfect transition ball because while the core will let you see some mid-lane read to avoid the Out-of-Bounds, the GLOSSY finish keeps it from hooking too early when the friction comes out. Of course the core never quits on the IQ Tour Balls so you get unrivaled continuation.
I've found the Ruby to be probably the most versatile ball in my bag and I have been throwing it on everything. It came at the perfect time to begin my tournament season and it is getting a lot of use. I recommend this ball to any and everyone and if it isn't in your tournament bag, you're leaving money on the table.

The !Q Tour Ruby comes stateside with a bang! The Ruby is Storm’s latest addition to the Master Line and is an updated version of the !Q Tour Emerald, and before that the !Q Tour Gold. The Ruby features the R2S pearl reactive coverstock finished with Reacta Gloss, which has been on a number of Storm balls, and the Centripetal C3 core found throughout the !Q line.
The Reacta Gloss finish has been pretty hit or miss for me. With the !Q Ruby, I found the finish was a bit too clean, so I scuffed the surface with a 3000 Abralon pad by hand as I’ve done on most balls that come with a shiny finish. I’ve been really impressed with what I’ve seen out of this ball. The !Q Ruby is one of the best (if not THE best) rolling balls I’ve thrown in a long time. Even after touching the surface with an Abralon pad, the Ruby is still quite clean thanks to the glossy finish but reads the midlane extremely well and is sharp and quick on the backend. It’s a reaction shape that my eye really likes – slightly heavy rolling with some pop on the backend that helps it to drive through the pins. Compared to the !Q Emerald, the Ruby feels a bit stronger both in overall hook and downlane motion. Unfortunately, I never had the Gold ball, but I’ve heard from others that the Ruby is close in overall reaction. In my arsenal, the !Q Ruby slots right below balls like the Storm Fate, Revenant, or Phaze V.
It’s very much a go-to for me on the medium oil house patterns with older lane surfaces. For tournaments, the Ruby is a ball that’s in play after the lanes have gone through some transition and I need a ball that clean with some shape going through the pins. I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the Ruby; for a low diff, higher RG ball, it just does the right thing in the right part of the lane. Slow speed, fast speed, low revs, high revs - anyone looking to add a new pearl to their arsenal should strongly consider an !Q Ruby. Red ball good!!

The !Q Tour Ruby is the newest iteration of a pearl !Q tour. If you were a fan of any of the previous pearl !Q’s then this will be the ball for you. This features the R2S pearl cover which will be cleaner and produce a sharper motion downlane compared to R2S solid featured on the !Q Tour Solid. This is going to be a great ball for high friction house shots and lighter volume sport shots in transition. For me this is a great ball for when I want to play on top of the friction and be able to stay right longer with my higher speed and rev rate. This is going to be great for all players if you are looking for something that is going to be used on beat up lanes. This ball is going to read earlier than a Hyroad pearl but allows you to have more control because of the lower diff. Get yours now at your local Storm VIP pro shop.

The New Storm IQ Tour Ruby has the R2S Pearl Coverstock and the C3 Core. As I’m a big fan of the IQ Emerald, I was very excited when I heard they were making another pearl IQ and it did not disappoint. Very clean through the front part of the lane but reads the lane a lot earlier than I anticipated. More like an Original IQ Tour Shape with a shiny cover. I fit the Ruby in between my IQ Tour and IQ Emerald. If you’re a big fan of the IQ Line, this one will not disappoint!

Plan on seeing this ball everywhere you go!!!! This has to be one of the smoothest bowling balls I’ve seen going down the lane. With some surface on the ball i can see it being a first ball out the bag possibly, I’ve used it after throwing my DNA, and this ball lets me get left and really open up the lane without any effort. This one i drilled the pin out in the ring finger and it gave me a smooth down lane and a strong back end finishing through the pins hard. This ball is gonna be a big compliment to the original iq tour, me myself it compliments my DNA very much so. This ball I believe is gonna be everywhere from league to tournament bowler, Like I said not first ball out the bag maybe but definitely later in the the blocks or on a longer pattern with adding some surface to it possibly 2000-3000 grit to take the shine off the ball. I’m giving this ball a 5 star. For everyone that Loved the IQ emerald mixed with the power of the gold IQ this is a perfect mix of it.

This is the first ball that I have really liked with the new ReactaGloss finish. Ruby is obviously the Same IQ Tour Pearl core and cover. We’ve had Gold, Emerald, and now Ruby. It’s hard for me to compare this to the Emerald as I drilled all of my Emeralds pin down. My Golds were all drilled pin up, same layout as the Ruby. This really does remind me of the Gold ball. I just have to say it…nothing beats R2S. It’s my ALL TIME FAVORITE!!
The motion of the R2S Pearl iQ’s are just a staple in the bag. Clean and control.

The Storm IQ tour Ruby is a great piece! Super excited to have another IQ tour pearl back in the bag! Its been long overdue but worth the wait! I did something different layout wise with this one. All my past IQ tour pearls were mostly pin up over the bridge or ring finger but for the Ruby I went pin down under my ring finger. I wanted to try to getting the ball to slow down based on my ball roll with pin down and it probably made it even stronger down lane! I went ahead and change the surface to 3000 abralon to knock off the factory finish to help calm it down and it was too calm so brought it back to factory finish for now.
Out the box I was getting a very strong almost angular back end motion much more than expected for a IQ. Comparing to the IQ tour solid its around 5 boards stronger that I have to move right to keep it in line. But I have noticed even though its strong but if you miss your mark or off your hand it will show on the lanes and can leave wash outs like crazy. During league I am able to bring it out game 2 after using once the lanes transition and can usually stand in the same spot (standing 23) from game 1 due to using a stronger ball which can be a Storm infinite physix or Storm absolute. Gets down further being much cleaner and seeing it strong motion on the back end and keeping the pins low once its hit which is nice!

My absolute favorite ball right now! I loved the IQ emerald as well as the IQ Tour Solids and just cannot put this IQ Ruby down! Its amazing on house shots and looked pretty decent on the few sport shots Ive thrown it on. Its a great blend of control, hook, and length. I am also a fan of anything with R2S on it. For me, its a step down from the stronger or more angular balls like a Phaze 2 or Absolute, but still a step above something like a Hy-Road or Electrify. Obviously it makes a great 1-2 punch with the IQ tour solid, but is just an amazing ball overall and recommend it to everyone whether they are high rev or high speed or both or neither.

The IQ Tour Ruby mimics the reactions of the IQ tour pearls before it, but in the Ruby color and with Reacta Gloss, it has a cleaner and quicker backend reaction. The Ruby, for me, is the flippiest ball in the Storm lineup currently. It is very clean in the front part of the lane, and turns quickly and sharply when it sees friction. With that comes some positives and some negatives; this ball is amazing when the lanes break down and circling the lane becomes necessary. When the lanes are fresh or the pattern is long, however, this ball can skid too far and become unpredictable. That's when equipment such as the Phaze II or DNA would be better suited.

Storm has taken the legendary success of their IQ Tour Series to another level with their release of the IQ Tour Ruby. With Storm's C3 Centripetal Control Core's superb reliability and the friction-biting R2S Pearl Reactive Coverstock, the new IQ Tour Ruby is the next "must-have" ball to add to nearly any bowler's arsenal! So, let's take a closer look at why you "gotta have a Ruby!"
The C3 Centripetal Control Core may be a mouthful, but the word "control" is all you need to understand when it comes to the C3! Being a straighter player, I depend on a core's consistency and predictability to keep my A game in play. And the C3 symmetrical core does this exceptionally well. I can count on the C3 to rev up smoothly in the mid-lane without being overly aggressive and burning up its energy too soon. And with its stable and predictable motion, I can rely on the C3 to keep on "truckin'" for me off the pattern. And unlike other symmetrical cores that run out of gas because of my low rev rate, the C3 retains an intense amount of energy that erupts as it impacts the pocket and blasts it through the pin deck. So, if you're looking for a benchmark core, you can rely on and trust? Look no further; the C33 Centripetal Control Core is a great choice!
The sharp-looking R2S Pearl Reactive Coverstock is an exceptional choice for the Ruby! And don't let the glossy finish fool you! The R2S Pearl Reactive Coverstock is a well-blended mixture that produces a flawless transition between skid, hook, and roll throughout a night of typical league bowling. However, being a straighter player, surface is my best friend. So for my straighter, high-speed low rev game, I took the R2S Pearl Reactive Coverstock to 1000-grit Abralon and followed it up with Storm Step #2 Compound, and the results were fantastic!
I like how the R2S Pearl easily skated across the heads on a fresh THS but gently started gripping in the mid-lane. And when the Ruby finds the end of the pattern, the R2S Pearl performs at its best. I like how the R2S Pearl loves friction but isn't too quick or "jumpy" when it finds it. Instead, I found the R2S Pearl cuts through the pattern smoothly without sacrificing the power I needed for the pins. And I liked how the R2S Pearl methodically blended its way through the over/ under and spotty conditions that develop towards the end of the third game. So, clearly, after a night of league bowling, I could easily say the R2S Pearl Reactive kept me in my comfort zone all night with the IQ Tour Ruby!
In conclusion, the IQ Tour Ruby is a great new release by Storm. Bowlers of many styles, speeds, and releases will find a place for the Ruby. And for that straighter and rev challenged bowlers like me, you will find a benchmark ball that will be there for you shot after shot! So, stop in your local Storm VIP Pro Shop today and see for yourself why you "gotta have a Ruby" in your arsenal!

Likes: The newest Pearl IQ is here! The IQ Ruby is the next installment in the IQ series for Storm, and it does not disappoint. I drilled my Ruby 4.75x4x3.75 2ls to create a little bit of a rounder shape off the end of the pattern instead of the skid/flip reaction I drilled a lot of my Emeralds to do. This ball is really clean through the front and I get a pretty consistent read off the back of the pattern.
Dislikes: Sometimes this ball can be too clean which is where surface management and prep is going to come in to play for a lot of bowlers. Even with my higher rev rate, Reacta gloss provided to not be a good surface even on house.
Nonetheless, This is definitely going to be a must in the bag for everyone that liked the Gold IQ and the Emerald. I think it's closer to the Goldie than the Emerald, but it still fits in that part of my bag. Get yours at your local VIP Proshop!

This ball is my life. I absolutely love it. I drilled the pin out with a layout that lowers the differential (change in direction), and it is amazing. Layout (5 x 4 x 3 ½) puts the pin in the ring finger. The biggest comparison is to the IQ tour solid which has been a ball in my bag for the last decade and I never plan on getting rid of it. Can you bring the IQ and Ruby in the same bag? Yes, with different layouts both balls play differently on the lane. I will have my IQ using a layout with a stronger pin (around 4 ½ inches) and the Ruby with a 5, and I can use the Ruby when the lanes hook earlier, or when I need the ball to get down lane with a similar shape. There Is nothing bad I can say about this ball, and everyone should have one.

Love this ball. It has preformed as advertised. Dry smooth controllable movement that managed a 260 first game out the box!

The new addition to the IQ line is the IQ Tour Ruby! Let's just say my favorite Storm ball of all time is the Original IQ Tour Pearl "Gold Ball". So over the years Storm has made a few IQ Tour pearls, 30th Anniv. and Emerald to name a few. Now the IQ Ruby is released and it doesn't disappoint. Great shelf appeal with the bright Red color.
I drilled mine 4.5 x 4 x 2 pin up. I was very impressed with the amount of overall hook that the Ruby has with a low diff core. For me the IQ pearls matches up with my roll perfectly. I can use the Ruby on house shots, usually 2nd and 3rd games when he heads get beat up a little. As the Ruby gives you that skid through fronts with ease, but with the quicker response down lane. Also on the sport patterns the Ruby shines the best when the lanes transition. With the lower RG and low diff, the Ruby is very controllable and stays on line. I have the Ruby below the Revanant, Phaze 5, Night Road and Zen. But stronger than the Hustle, Burner and Tropicals.
I have drilled the Ruby for all styles of bowlers whether for the light or heavy handed players with great success. The Ruby is a must drill for any bowlers arsenal. Its that good of a ball. Thank you to the Storm Plant team for releasing another IQ Pearl!!

The newest addition to the already established IQ line, the IQ Tour Ruby. The IQ Tour has been a staple in everyone's bag for many years, the new Ruby complements it very well. Once the IQ Tour solid, starts to get lazy down lane as I move left, that is when I know it is time for the Ruby. For me, the IQ Ruby is a but earlier for a pearl ball, as it wants to pick up in the mid lane, but still has plenty of backend to finish. I would compare it to the Storm Revenant, as both like to pick up in the midlane, however the IQ Ruby has more backend. I know the IQ Tour Pearl (Gold) was a very popular ball when it was released years back, the IQ Tour Ruby is the closest ball I've thrown to have that similar motion.

I drilled my IQ Ruby with a benchmark 3x5x3 layout, and left the out of box surface ReactaGloss to do my initial video review. What I found was that I can either play slightly right of the IQ Tour Solid, or, if I start with the solid (drilled identical), I can just about stay right on top of where I am and switch into the Ruby once transition begins to happen. It's truly the ultimate control ball for all intents and purposes. It starts much earlier than balls such as the Hustles, Burners, Electrifys and Tropicals from back a few years, which is what gives it such a great "control" type look, whereas the others are a little more violent down the lane which can be unpredictable on the wrong conditions. It's a perfect 1-2 punch with the IQ Solid, and fits well underneath Zens, Hyroads, and Idols.

This ball is a must have for everyone! What isn’t there to like about a pearl IQ! You can’t go wrong with either the C3 Centripetal Core or the proven R2S pearl cover let alone the combination of the 2! In my opinion the Ruby is the closest thing yet to the gold. But I do think it has fixed every problem that some people had with the gold. For me the Ruby tends to lock up a little more than the older iterations of the pearl IQ. With the Emerald and the IQ 30 typically if I was bowling on house and had a decent miss right they would tend to over hook off of the spot and typically 3-6-10. But with the Ruby it will typically lock up at that spot and still snap the 10 out which makes my window for miss room a lot larger. I do feel that the Ruby fits every type of bowler. So if you think the Ruby wouldn’t fit your game I would say that I disagree and everyone should have one in their bag. It is very forgiving as I was saying earlier and it has worked for me on just about every type of pattern at one point or another. I do like to do reviews typically a little later in the balls cycle so that myself and other people have really had a chance to throw the ball quite a bit and I can confidently say that this is one ball you don’t wanna miss out on!

I really don’t practice much, just show up to bowl for league. This ball right here just works for me and the shot we bowl on! Easily jumped from a 179 avg to a current 193! I love my Kool-aid smellin ball!

One of the best purchases so far and does the job it’s supposed to do when the lanes break down.. It’s a great overall ball to add to your arsenal, I shot 184, 228 and 229 out of the box and my average improved drastically by 45 pins! I’d recommend this ball hands down!

Received at an incredibly fair price, fast service, and beautiful ball. Bought after saw 3 friends on my league use this very same color/ball. Moves nicely on the lanes, with a small break, which is what I wanted to go to for dry or very little oil on the lanes.

Friends/bowling with and against in a league each (3) have this ball. Tried one of theirs, and was sold. Bought a 14 lb. Quickly received, at a very fair price, and proud to roll it. Feels and looks good. You'll like it.

This is one of the smoothest ball I've ever used. It can handle dry lanes to swampy conditions. This ball is always in my bag.
This ball is everything that it says it is. This ball can be used by anyone. It’s really good on fresh and even better on the burn. This is a great benchmark ball. I would recommend it to anyone with any rev rate.
