Storm’s newest addition to the Premier Line the all new Parallax! This ball is practically a brand new bowling ball! The Parallqx features the Traction Hybrid Reactive Coverstock wrapped around the Aeroflo Core!
My Parallax is drilled pin over my bridge about 4 1/2 inches away from my pap with the mass bias next to my thumb! This a very unique shape that when your really aggressive bowling balls are to early and you need something with a big engine and a shiny cover to get through the lane this is the ball!

The Parallax is the newest rock from Team Utah. Traction X7 Hybrid is the cover and that core is bananas....I drilled mine 50x4.5x35 and I was very happy with the ball reaction. It reminded me of the Intense from a few years ago, which I thought was an awesome release. The characteristics of R3S Pearl carried over to X7, I could be wrong but, it felt similar. The Parallax is a good balancing release from Storm, with all of the big cover balls that have come out lately, It's a nice return to some angle from a high end Asymm. Thanks for reading, see you next time. Copy/paste this link to check out our on lane review--->

New Cover, New Core, New Excitement! The Parallax, featuring the Traction X7 Hybrid Coverstock matched with the Aeroflow core, will provide a strong asymmetrical ball for those heavy to medium heavy oil conditions.
The design intent was to combine features of 7 of Storms best coverstocks which resulted in the Traction X7. With the Aeroflow core we see the mimic of a weight hole in the core which will help offset the new USBC rule of no weight holes. We will see much more designs like this from Storm and Roto Grip which will help offset the new rules and provide comparable shapes to what bowlers used to see who had weight holes in their equipment.
There is a lot of chat about how different this shape is from the tech team at Storm and how the Parallax provides a unique reaction against the existing lineup. I see myself removing the polish off this ball and finishing it somewhere between 2-3000 grit to take away some of the angle from the ball to get it to slow down sooner and be more controllable. This ball will most likely be a step down ball from either a strong Asym or Symmetrical solid and when I need to initially begin opening my angles up when there is still a decent amount of oil in the front part of the lane.

I am always a big fan of shiny pearl/hybrid asymmetrical balls so I was excited to drill this one! This one for me is as strong as you would expect, I wanted to drill it differently from my Nuclear Cell to compliment it. My Nuclear is pin down and this is a sky high pin. I have this ball earlier and stronger than the Nuclear. I always knock the shine off of our shiny balls when I first get them, I did that on this ball with a 1000 pad to give it some teeth. This is a perfect ball down from UFO or Physix, should be great in transition, and won’t quit down lane! Get yours today!
The Parallax contains the new Aeroflo core which helps improve core dynamics in today's sport. Unlike most asymmetrical pearl balls from Storm, the Parallax gives you a little bit of a smoother motion then typically found for this type of ball. This ball is definitely more ideal when more control of the breakpoint is required but you need a clean coverstock. Sport patterns and hooking house shots are good for this type of ball reaction. The New TX7 coverstock gives you the cleanliness of a Hybrid but smoothness of a solid while still allowing for stronger midlane read and continuation. This will be a good ball if you really like the Physix and Astrophysix because it is more or less a blend of both balls. When more downlane angle is needed the Astrophysix would be the go to ball but if you need a cleaner but controllable ball after the Physix, the Parallax is the go to ball. I can see myself using this ball on a wide array of sport patterns and some typical house shots.
My Parallax is drilled 60X4.5X30. This ball offers the Traction X7 hybrid cover with 15 lbs numbers of 2.52 0.54 0.19. This ball also has a unique core in it. The core has a section taken out of the middle which raises the rg in intermediate diff. I closely compare this ball to the nuclear cell just a little earlier. Like all polished balls I have to move far left to get the reaction i want out of it. If having enough hand isnt an issue than moving inside with this ball wouldnt be an issue. This ball would work best for either far outside first game or once the lanes break down.

The Parallax was another ball I could not wait to order when it was released. When I saw and read about the ball I knew this was going to be a ball that I wanted in my bag. This ball is clean through the front part of the lanes easily and definitely pops on the backend. The Parallax is definitely going to be a ball for me to use when the lanes start to transition and I have to move my feet left playing more of the lane. I bowl in a scratch league during the fall and this ball is going to be good for me during game 3 and 4 when the transition starts. Those are the games where I have to start chasing the transition left and playing more of the lane. This Parallax will be a good ball for me to play that angle while still popping off the back end.
I am looking forward to seeing what this ball gives me when leagues and tournament season start back up in the fall. It will definitely be a different look going from bowling by myself to others breaking down the pair with me. I look forward to seeing the different angles I am able to play the lanes when they start to break down.

was a huge fan of the astrophysix, this ball provided the cleanliness of the astrophysix which i loved but made a stronger continuous motion downlane! definitely a ball i can open up my angles with and have no worries
First shot off my hand, my jaw hit the floor! This motion was already something that I had been needing. This reminds me of the polished solid motion of the Eternal Cell. This was one of my all time favorites! I would say that the Parallax actually gives me a little more length and a little more angle than the Eternal Cell did. I went on Facebook live with The Parallax and an identically drilled AstroPhysix at 3000. The Astro was a little sooner and a touch more rounded compared to that of the Parallax. I can really see the Parallax being a House Shot Killer!! Get yours TODAY, August 7th at your local VIP pro shop!
The layout that I used is 50 x 4-7/8 x 30 for the Dual Angle Fans
For the Pin buffer peeps we have 4-7/8 pin to PAP, 4-1/4 PSA to PAP, 2 to my VAL.
Balls in Heavy rotation:
AstroPhysix- 50x4-3/4x30
IQ Emerald- 50x4-1/4x65
Trend- 50x5x30

The Parallax to me is on the stronger side of Storm’s shiny asymmetric. When thrown against the Alpha Crux, it is significantly cleaner and more angular. The TractionX7 coverstock provides the length you need for a stronger core like this one. The Aeroflo Core in the Parallax is a light weight core, that for me made the ball recover off the spot more than I expected. The RG in this ball is 2.52 and the differential is 0.054. I can see myself using this ball right after I put my solid asymmetric away, but before I pull out the Axiom and Phaze 2. I drilled mine 50 x 5 1/2 x 30 and love it so far. In my YouTube review you will see that with 2000 grit Abralon on the Parallax, it still clears the fronts easily and recovers remarkably on the back end.

The Parallax is the newest piece from Storm. It has an all new weight block that has a hollowed out section which aims to produce consistent reaction of off the breakpoint. My initial impression is that this ball is different from what Storm has made in the past. This ball is smooth for a hybrid covered ball. Hybrids in the past have been strong down lane but the Parallax has a strong midlane read. Another thing I noticed is how fast the Parallax revs up in front of the pins. I'm no scientist so I'm not sure if this is visual or mathematical but it does seem to increase the pin carry. This ball will be good on the house patterns and the medium/heavy oil patterns.

The Storm Parallax is a unique strong yet smooth ball with a roll that feels different than any ball that I can recall. Maybe it’s the core that has a hole in the weight block which acts as if a weight hole was drilled then plugged which changed the density in that part. I drilled it 4x6x2.5. It’s very clean thru the heads with very strong smooth backend. It allows me to play just about anywhere on the lane on the house shot but most comfortable around 20 at the arrows. It seemed like the ball got stronger the deeper I played and a touch weaker the straighter I played. This I presume is due to the ball needing oil to store energy. To me this ball fits between the Omega Crux and Nuclear Cell, it’s a little longer than the Omega Crux and but a little sooner than the the Nuclear Cell. Hitting Power is tremendous!
If you want to talk about a ball that’s special, the word parallax has to be in that sentence. Introducing the new Storm Parallax. The Parallax is Storm’s newest high end Asymmetrical bowling ball. The Parallax has the brand new Aeroflo Core wrapped in a new Traction X7 Hybrid reactive coverstock. If you look closely at the core, you see that there’s an opening in the core. That opening, when drilling into the bowling ball, simulates adding a weight hole, which we can no longer do because of the changes in rules. The core is designed to give bowlers the access to use a weight hole without actually having to drill a weight hole. You’ll see the most use out of that space when drilling it pin up for the majority of bowlers.
With this ball being a hybrid, you have both solid and pearl components in the coverstock. The shape you’re going to see out of this ball is something special. For me, I can use this ball when I need to keep my angles closer to me. Not necessarily playing up the lane, but when I need a cleaner option from inside and still give me a little shape downlane. It’s a different shape I have yet seen from any storm ball made and I’m excited to throw it more in competition to see it full potential. Get your’s at your local Storm VIP Pro Shop.
Storm’s newest premier line ball is the hybrid asymmetrical Parallax. The Parallax comes with the new Aeroflo Core that will provide a truer roll with an RG 2.52, differential of 0.054 and PSA of 0.019. Combine 7 of the most popular covers Storm use and you’ll have the Traction X7 Cover. I drilled my Parallax 4.5 x 5.5 x 2. After throwing my Parallax for while it started to remind me of a smoother version of a Hyper Cell Fused. The Parallax revs up stronger in the mid lane and is a ball up from the Storm Axiom. Lower rev bowlers will love the strength of this ball for house shots and higher rev players who are looking for a smoother stronger ball will love the continuation of it.

For me personally, the Parallax was quite good fresh out of box, but I actually found it even more useful and versatile once I knocked the factory shine off of it. I seem to have found it works better for me at 3000 or 4000 (depending on volume) and it has quickly become a staple in my bag.
I tend to see more higher volume patterns these days, and due to this I have had to adjust my cover surface prep to match, so having a little less polish has made all of my equipment a lot more user friendly.
I have found great success with the Parallax on longer patterns where I need the ball to respond quickly off the spot, or for patterns that tend to have a bit more free hook to the outside part of the lane. The area I have found this ball to be the least forgiving for me is when I have higher volume patterns that force me to keep my target more in front of me. Because of the quick response time, these type of conditions make it where I have to be more "perfect" to get the intended result, so because of this I tend to use something with more teeth (ie. Axiom) when conditions like that arise.

The new Storm Parallax is an R&D gem. The Aeroflo core is the New set of the cores that Storm has engineered to fill the void(pun intended) left by the new balance hole rule. As stated on the website:
“The ellipsed hole filled with lighter core material constructs a higher RG than what is typically found in most asymmetric balls. The flip block coupled at the bottom ensures high total differential, but without the crucial cuts on the Y-axis, the intermediate differential would be just 0.007! The strategically positioned depressions on the Z-axis 6 3/4” from the pin mimic the effect of an extra hole in a similar space and keeps the intermediate differential at a more workable amount. Having a precise ratio of intermediate to total differential makes drilling less sensitive for drillers and provides a truer roll for bowlers.”
The cover is also a new innovation formed from characteristics of Storms most successful covers. The very aptly named TractionX7 gives you great midland motion that you would never expect on a polished ball. Teaming up,the Aeroflo core with the TractionX7 has created a powerful ball that is useful out of the gate and stays that way longer.
I tested the Parallax on a very cliffed house shot. I’m normally loathe to throw polished equipment when they feel so wet dry but I had a lot of advance interest in this release and I wanted to put its stated design intent to the test right away. The Parallax didn’t disappoint as I saw motion earlier than all of my other polished equipment with greater continuation than my matte equipment. This ball didn’t just open up area, it pride open the pattern so much it felt like cheating.
I also really like the parallax on long patterns. It packs so much power and it can unleash it freakishly well in a small window. The ball is really responsive to tilt changes so it easier to get it to match with conditions than most balls. All in all just an absolutely strong versatile ball.

The release of the Parralax was two years in the making and Storm R&D did a fantastic job in checking off a lot of boxes that bowlers look for in a ball. Strong, continuous backend – check, clean thru the fronts – check, controlled motion – check, dependable carry – check. I drilled my Parallax 4.5” pin, pin over ring and 4” PSA which puts it just right of my thumb. At 1500 polish, don’t let the polish fool you, this ball will read the midlane and HOOOOK! The best look I’ve had with this piece is inside. But where this differentiates itself from other pieces is that it doesn’t miss the spot like some pearls and doesn’t read too early and lose its energy to get back to the pocket like solids. This ball allows you to move inside when there’s still some volume on the pattern and open it up with confidence. If it’s a bit clean, you can always hit it with some surface to get it to read earlier but the controlled hook remains in place. It reminds me of my Hyper Cell Fused only a bit cleaner and bigger on the backend, a great replacement for a piece I cherished. So if you’re looking for bigger motion, then go punch a Parallax, you won’t be disappointed!

Review: The Parallax doesn’t grab the lane as early as the Axiom, Omega Crux, or any of the SPEC cover balls, but it doesn’t hydroplane or over-skid either. It has a new cover (TractionX7) that seems extremely versatile. I was able to throw it on 4 different oil patterns ranging from 39’ to 43’ feet in length with the factory 1500-grit Polished finish, 2000 and 4000 grit finishes. I had to keep it closer to the oil line/middle part of the lane to generate enough skid and hold on all the patterns. As the patterns broke down and forced me left, the better this ball performed. This new Aeroflo core didn’t rev up as fast as the Axiom, but tumbled more than the Axiom, which made it go a little more forward off the end of the pattern and through the pins. Where my Axiom finished over the 8 pin, this ball went straighter back splitting the 8-9 and tripped a lot of 4 pins. It worked better if I kept my angles closed a bit more rather than trying to cover the whole lane or swinging it to the ditch. I can see this ball working really well on challenge/sport shots or “cliffed” lanes because it doesn’t boomerang on the backend which helps keep you in the pocket and doesn’t leave you ugly splits from steep angles. This ball fits between my ProMotion (benchmark type ball), and my Omega Crux or UFO (big oil balls).

After throwing the Parralax a handful of times on a house shot I cannot wait to throw it on a sport shot. For me I would likely throw it in games 3-4, the shine will allow me to get through the mid-lane and then turn the corner strong continuing all the way through the pocket. A ball like the Parallax is paramount for a female bowler like me who consistently bowls with men of all different rev rates who all play different parts of the lane essentially creating a big mess for me! As much as I love smooth predictable balls I also have a soft spot in my heart for shiny angular balls, they tend to bail me out when I need it most. The cherry on top is the smell and the overall look of this ball going down the lane. Funnel cake, I mean are you kidding me?! Amazing.

When Looking at this ball I was super excited to see a new shiny assym (hybrid) that I could use to bridge the gap between my Nuclear Cell and my Halo Pearl. The Halo Pearl being my favorite ball all together I am finding it hard to put my Parallax down. The Halo for me gave me great midlane motion and smoother off the breakpoint which is where I fell in love...The Nuclear Cell is super long and angular off the spot being my two favorite assyms in my arsenal. The Parallax gives me both strong midlane roll and sharp motion off the spot into the pins. This piece definitely a gap filler for me and something I can really rely on and stay confident with my ball wont miss the break point! This ball has hands down quickly moved into my favorite spot!
Josh Shoemaker Aug 31, 2020
Hey everyone, this is Storm staff member Josh Shoemaker here again with another ball review for the Storm Parallax. As always, I would like to thank Storm for providing the equipment I use every time I step out onto the lanes and logo infusion for making sure I always look good no matter what! Today I will be bowling on a standard 44’ house shot. The Parallax features a brand new core called the Aeroflo. The Aeroflo boasts an RG of 2.50 and differential of 0.052 with a PSA of 0.020 in #16. The core was created with a void through the lower portion of it. The design intent behind this was to mimic the displaced core mass you have when drilling a deep weight hole. This provides a stronger, smoother and more continuous ball motion without the need of an extra hole. The Parallax is also wrapped in a brand new cover called traction X7 hybrid. On the lanes traction X7 hybrid feels very similar to R3S hybrid with additional nano additives. When I first threw this ball, I got serious No Rules Pearl vibes. It provided that signature shiny Rotogrip asym reaction that compliments the Storm shiny asyms so well. This ball has been a staple in my tournament bag the last month and provides a perfect ball down from an Omega Crux and Gravity Evolve. When compared to the Omega Crux, I found the Parallax to be a touch cleaner and a little less overall. The Parallax is available for purchase today from any Storm VIP pro shop!

I was very surprised how much this ball hooked I originally thought it was going to be super clean with a bit of back end but boy was I wrong. This ball is not overly clean but wow does it store energy going down the lane. I found bowling a few games with it because of the cover stock I could actually stick with it for longer without killing the pattern. It just keeps going once it goes off the back of the pattern. I don’t know if i could use this at my home centre for league because we have a little less volume but if you get a house with decent amount this ball will be money.
Brian Storm Amateur Staff Sep 25, 2020
I’ve had about 3 weeks to get to know the Storm Parallax. The up-side of waiting (procrastinating) is that I got to see this ball perform in more key circumstances.
Initially, I threw on a lower volume house shot. Played my comfort zone and saw what you expect from any new ball; great skid through the heads and continuation through the rack. As the pattern fried, I delt with the typical carry issues I see with asymmetrical stuff. The cover was so fresh and strong, it burned up energy had nothing left at the pins.
A couple of weeks later I began using it in my scratch league. We bowl on USBC White 2 (about 8 more mls than our house shot). Throwing the ball in practice, I just felt pinched. Anything tight jumped, anything wide kept skidding. But I kept at it, putting more and more frames on it when I could.
Recently, in that same league, I was struggling with reaction from another ball right out of the gate. I decided to go to the Parallax and open the angles. A spot on, perfect match for the pattern. The hybrid cover let the Aeroflo Core build energy and then started gripping at the end of the pattern and plowed through the rack as clean as possible.
I’ve been waiting for a ball as reliable as the Code Red was for me. Very similar motion, just a tad stronger… as expected with new technology. The Parallax has the dependability of a symmetrical and the power of an asymmetrical.

When the Parallax was released I wasn’t sure where it would fit in the arsenal. Before I drill the new stuff I like to see how it reacts when bowlers use it then decide where it fits. After some research and asking questions I was told it will replace my favorite, the Physix, but be earlier and smoother off the dry than the Physix. Those guys at Storm know what they are talking about. I drilled it similar to the Physix and it reads the lanes earlier and is smoother off the dry.
With my lower rev rate and on the cliffed house shots I need the big ball specs to help combat the wet/dry conditions of league bowling in my area. By adding the Parallax to my arsenal which also includes a Nuclear Cell, I have 3 strong asymmetrical pieces that have 3 different reactions off the dry. The Physix is early but stronger off the dry, the Parallax is smoother, and the Nuclear Cell is sharper.
If you're looking to add a strong asym to the bag with an early hook but with a smoother and more controllable reaction off the end of the pattern this is the ball for you.

The Parallax is the newest ball from Storm with a unique Aero Flo weight block. Traction X7 Hybrid is the cover and compliments it nicely. ....I drilled mine 50 x 4 1/4” x 45 and I was very happy with the ball reaction. I compared it to my Astro Physix which I drilled the same. What I see is the Parallax is about 3-4 feet earlier on the lane and has more of a hook stop motion. The Astro Physix was longer down lane and smoother through the pin deck. Given the new Aero Flo weight block, it implements older style drilling’s with balance holes. This ball is fun to throw and can play so many areas of the lanes depending on your rev rate. You will love this ball, and its a great ball for tougher conditions, as when it makes the corner it doesn’t let you down. If your looking for a reliable pearl Asym this is your ball. Check it out today, you will love its reaction and versatility!
When i first saw the motion of this ball, all i could think is that it reminded me of a halo pearl. This ball is something special for being a big core asymmetrical. This ball is a house shot wrecker, the farther you go left the more the ball wants to drive. I cant get this ball to stop hooking, get your favorite layout on this shiny hybrid and you wont be sorry.
The Storm Parallax is the latest addition to the Premier line at Storm and this is a ball that travels with me everywhere. This big-cored, hybrid-coverstock, assymetrical ball is extremely versatile and has been successful with multiple styles of players. I’ve had the most success with the Parallax on the patterns with heavier volumes because the RG is 2.54 and the differential is .054. Those numbers tell me this ball wants to dig early & often. It’s been a perfect compliment to the Axiom and Omega Crux.
I’ve drilled two so far and love both of them. The one I’ve had the most success with is mapped out as 5.5 x 5 x 80. This puts the pin under my bridge with a small shift and the mass bias just to the right of my thumb. I also scratched the surface with 3000 just to blend the response time down. I’ve always had a lot of success with hybrid coverstock assymetrical balls, and this one fits that mold. If you need a ball to compliment your high performance or mid-performance balls, the Parallax should be the next one you drill!
#StormNation
The Parallax is a great heavy oil ball! Because of its big assymetrical core, The Parallax wants oil to roll at its best. I drilled mine 4.5x5.5x2 and for me it fits perfectly when balls like the Gravity Evolve or UFO pick up the lane too early. So if you are looking for a higher performance ball but don’t want something that will hook as soon as it touches the lane, the Parallax might be the perfect fit.
Introducing the all new Storm Parallax! The Storm Parallax is practically a brand new ball and, new shape. The Parallax features the Traction Hybeid Reactive Coverstock wrapped around the Aeroflo Core. The Parallax is a very unique shape all on its own and, comes into play mostly for when all of your big aggressive bowling balls become to much and, start reacting to early then you can switch to the Parallax to get through all of that and, have plenty of pop on the backend still
I drilled my PARALLAX with a layout of 65 x 5 x 35. I hit the box surface with a 2000 abr pad and have smoothed it back up to 4000.
The PARALLAX is a newer weight block and hybrid cover stock composition. This is marketed as a hook/stop reaction an the PARALLAX definitely does that.
I used the PARALLAX on a 42' pattern that is original Anvilane so the surface has some built in friction. The PARALLAX was good for me on this as getting the ball to stop off the breakpoint was a key for this pattern/surface match up. When I put it against some other pieces that came into play that weekend like the ASTRO PHYSIX and OMEGA CRUX, the PARALLAX was the hook/stop the pattern required to score. The AP was more push and sharper break down lane. The OMEGA CRUX was early compared to the PARALLAX and was tough to control down lane.
Drill a PARALLAX if you are looking for defined hook/stop reaction.
Storm Parallax Ball Review: The layout is 5 x 3.5 x 2.5. The Parallax has the new Aeroflo core featuring an ellipsed hole filled with lighter core material which in turn constructs a higher RG then typically found in asymmetric balls of roughly 2.48 verses 2.52 found in the Parallax. In addition, the depressions on the side of the weight block mimic the effect of an extra hole. The Traction X7 Hybrid Coverstock, Storm took the best features of seven of the most popular coverstocks, which resulted in the durability of TX-16 found in Phaze 2 and the backend of R2S found in the Astro Physix & IQ Emerald. So far this ball has been amazing where I have been able to use it on the fresh or in a transition situation.

Storm Parallax / Storm Omega Crux Review By Walter McKnight
The New Storm Parallax is the latest release in the premier line.
Innovation is once again Storms heart and soul and It does it again. The Traction X7 Hybrid cover is finished at 1500 polished, giving the ball ball plenty of time to get down lane and retain a large amount of energy.
The NEW Aeroflo™ Core elegant and modern. Having been constructed with lighter core materials, this brings the RG higher than most Asymmetricals.
Another innovative design element is a strategic indentation on the core giving the ball characteristic seen in having a weight hole.
I drilled my Parallax pretty standard. Pin above my bridge, cg in my palm, mass bias about 2 inches from my thumb. AKA 55º x 4 3/8 x 45º. My first impression was Continuous. This ball thrives on retaining energy and slowly releasing it gradually while traveling downline. This is not a skid flip hockey stick motion type ball. I was able to square up and get behind the ball and felt very comfortable repeating shots. I moved in on a few shots and just had to keep the same breakpoint and the ball never falters.
Omega Crux is a complete different ball, more teeth in the front of the lane and a more violent back end reaction, more midlane reaction as well. The Catalyst™ Core is once again a triumph through the years since its inception at Storm.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtmFiN78iA4&t=81s
simulate a ball with a weight hole drilled into it. It is wrapped in an all new Traction X7 hybrid coverstock. This ball is really unlike any other Storm ball. It is an asymmetrical core but the ball rolls more like a symmetrical ball. It does not have that real quick change of direction on the backend making it much more controllable. For an asymmetric, this ball has no trouble clearing the front part of the lane. It has good midlane response and has a strong arcing motion on the backend. It has nice continuation through the pins. Trying to compare it to other asyms, I would put the Parallax between the Physix and the Astrophysix. For me it is a little later than the Physix but starts up sooner than the Astro with a slower response to the friction. This will be a good ball on the tougher sport patterns as well as the higher volume house patterns. It will best be used when the really big asymms start to lose their energy.

Storm Parallax - 35 x 3 7/8th x 40 at 1500 grit polished then 800 and 1500 grit.
Coverstock: TractionX7 Hybrid Reactive
Weight Block: Aeroflo Asymmetric Core
With the Aeroflow core with the Hybrid reactive cover stock I found the ball with the above layout very strong overall on our typical house pattern, it was very aggressive in the backend, when moving to a center with SPL with a longer oil pattern the ball matched up much better. Haven't had a ball this aggressive on the back end since the Virtual Energy. Once I adjusted the surface to slow the ball up in the front part of the lane, I felt more comfortable with the ball on older HPL with have at my main practice and league center. Was very confident using it between 5th and 6th arrow and getting the ball to recover with a good bit of energy getting to the pins. Great heavy oil ball and takes cover changes very nicely.
Innovation is once again Storms heart and soul and It does it again with the new Storm Parallax.
This ball is one of my first choices out of my bag and much different than anything you'll find in the Premier line!
Great performance and great looking. Definitely a 1st ball out of the bag option. Cleaner threw the front for me then the Physix but not as long or as quick a response as the Astro. A perfect addition to the bag!

Storm Parallax
TractionX7 Hybrid Reactive
Aeroflo Asymmetric Core
Another all new ball from Storm. New core, new cover, new shape.
Strong ball that can still get down lane without burning up...and stays smooth at the breakpoint.
The shape looks like a what I would expect to see from a strong polished solid.
Strong and controllable...always a useful combo.
I get a lot of league bowlers that come in and ask me for something to "go as long as it can then snap as hard as it can" and I am always trying to explain to them that controlled strength would help their scores more. This is a ball can fit that explanation

Not every ball is for every bowler, and the Parallax is one of those balls for me. It's got some awesome new tech... the TraxionX7 Hybrid Reactive cover provides great traction and control while not reading the lane too early, and the Aeroflo core picks up a heavy roll downlane without actually rolling out! Unfortunately for me (high rev rate, high speed, lower axis tilt) this means that I struggle to get the ball to make it around the corner consistently. Lower-speed bowlers and rev-dominant players will LOVE this ball though. If that fits you... check this ball out!
The Storm Parallax fits into the Premier line perfectly. The Parallax has more continuation on the backend than the Omega Crux. The Omega Crux might stand up a little quicker than the Parallax but the hitting power of the Parallax is unbelievable. The Parallax is more controllable than the Astro Physix in the mid lane and on the backend. The Astro Physix is my favorite asymmetrical bowling ball in the Storm or Roto Grip line. The Parallax out preforms the Astro Physix when it gets choppy or urethane carry down providing a readable but strong backend motion. The layout that I used was a combination of dual angle and storm dimensions 45 X 4 X 1.5. My axis point is 5 5/8 over and ¾ up with a rev rate around 300. My ball speed is medium to slow compared to the younger generation. I am also right handed and likes to play closer to the friction. The Parallax is a very versatile bowling ball and will make it into my league bags and my tournament bags. I would recommend the Parallax to anyone. Period.
The Parallax is the latest high end asymmetrical ball in the premier line from Storm, the Bowler's Company. The Parallax uses the all new Aeroflow core which has a void that allows for lighter material to “flow through” the core which produces an Rg of 2.52, and differential of 0.054, and an intermediate differential of 0.019 in 15lb balls. The cover on the Parallax is called Traxion X7 hybrid and comes from the factory polished to a 1500 grit finish. The color combination of marine, steel, and black make for a very attractive ball.
I drilled the Parallax using the Storm VLS system, with a 4.5 X 3 X 4 layout. Out of the box, the Parallax has a defined move off the spot, with a sideways but forward roll toward the pins (hockey stick type shape). I found the Parallax useful on very specific lane conditions. The pattern had to be of a medium volume, with fresh backends, and around 37-41 feet in length. With these conditions, the Parallax rolls great, and has a very high carry percentage, even when not hitting the pocket perfectly flush. Trying to find a little more pattern coverage, I sanded the Parallax with a slightly used 2000 grit abralon pad, and lost some of the backend pop and got the ball to slow down sooner making the ball's reaction just a bit too lazy. Adding even more surface, the Parallax looked great with a green scotch brite pad on higher volumes of oil, but lane shined a bit too quickly to want to keep at this low of a grit for heavier oil. Comparing all the different surfaces, the Parallax rolled best at the box finish using it on the right conditions to make it successful.
The Parallax is a unique ball in that it introduces the consumer to the Aeroflow core. I would recommend using the Parallax on lanes that have cleaner backends, and are more on the medium side with the volumes and lengths. Use the Parallax on the right lane conditions, and it will be a fantastic ball! Thank you for reading my review of the Storm Parallax. As always, bowl up a Storm!
Layout: 40 x 4 3/8” x 45
The Parallax has a much smoother and more predictable ball roll than most high end shiny bowling balls, and it is a welcome change. The massive amount of midlane roll that this ball has makes it shockingly usable on heavier and longer patterns, even with a shiny surface. It loves straighter angles or going down-and-in, and is a great option for when the lanes are wet/dry. I do not recommend this ball for lighter oil, as the amount of midlane torque can make it hook too early for those certain conditions.
3.5x3x2 layout. The Storm Parallax gave me a ton of length and with the length came the most back end I've gotten out of an asymmetrical ball. I was expecting to be able to ball down from my Physix to the Parallax with that layout but I've found that the Parallax has it's own spot in my arsenal next to the Omega Crux. If your looking for an asymmetrical that gets down the lane then turns the corner hard the Parallax is what your looking for. Hitting the Parallax with 2000 made it a bit earlier and a little less aggressive on the back but the Aero Flow core still carried very well. Bottom line I found the Parallax to be pretty versatile for transition times when my Physix was too early.
The Parallax is the newest in the asymmetrical line offered by Storm. This ball features the all new areoflow core matched with a hybrid coverstock. This ball is very aggressive when it reads the dry. When using this ball on a fresh house shot its really clean and loves the fresh oil. If this ball is to aggressive on the back end for you i would recommend asking the cover down by hand a little to get it to pick up sooner which will help smooth out the back end. Trust me you wont lose and power this ball is a beast
Storm Parallax, what to say about this ball ,first off great colour choice,First impressions with this wall was wow very clean threw the fronts and tons a motion down lane once it exits the pattern great carry as well really like how the ball goes threw the pins. For sure completely different motion from this ball then anything ive seen from current line up.After throwing few shots I found the shell seemed little slick so I hit it very lightly with a 3000 ab to take some shine off a bam a ball in my bag for sure.I can see bowlers who have little more ball speed and needing little be more help down lane.

It took me a couple of games to figure it out, but once I did it's a great ball. I drilled it pin down and the thing about this for me is that if I throw it out, it comes back high almost no matter what. But keep it more inside and it kills the pocket!

I cannot find the bowling ball and I happen to ask around and some of My friends told me to come to bowler's market and that's why I found it.
