NOT A BAD BANG FOR THE BUCK. EATS UP A LOT OF OIL, BUT CARRIES WELL IN THE BACKEND AND RIDES THE DIFFERENT OIL PATTERNS WELL. BETTER THAN I EXPECTED. I DON'T HAVE MUCH DOWN LANE BETWEEN A 10-12 MP AND REVS DOWN LANE AND WORKS WELL. i THINK A HARDER THROWER WOULD GET MORE ACTION OUT OF IT

The Phaze 5 is the replacement for the USBC discontinued Phaze 4. The Core and Cover combination are the same, but the new Reacta Gloss finish creates a slightly different reaction for the Phaze 5. The Reacta Gloss offers the same clean through the front and strong midlane roll that we expect from the Velocity Core but gives a more rounded and more continuous shape than the Phaze 4. The Phaze 4 gave a more angular backend reaction when compared. I find for my game, that the more rounded backend shape a ball has, the more use it allows for me especially as the lanes become more wet/dry. This is a more ideal shape for most bowlers in today's environments.
My league pattern is around 44 feet in length with medium volume. I tend to use stronger asymmetrical cores to start and then ball down to more angular symmetrical cores. The Phaze 5 for me is a great step down from the new Super Nova. The Phaze 5 provides more length in the front and more angle down lane while keeping me in the same zone with my feet. Those who use a Phaze 2 will also see similar results. The new Reacta Gloss finish should bode well with most league conditions and bowling styles as it reads well in the oil and is slightly smoother off the dry boards compared to the Phaze 4. Those who bowl on more oil can take the Reacta Gloss off to see a stronger and smoother overall motion.

The 3 latest Storm releases will create instant versatility in your bag and cover a variety of bases for any lane condition. The Super Nova is the strongest of the 3 designed for heavy oil conditions. The Night Road and Phaze 5 are designed for those medium conditions.
For those that enjoyed the Proton Physix the shape seen from the Super Nova will be comparable. When battling heavy oil and/or tight conditions the Super Nova will be an excellent selection to manage that environment. The Super Nova has one of the strongest covers Storm manufacturers and compliments this core very well. There is plenty of control with this high end asym and would be a cleaner option against the Gem which is earlier with more arc.
The Night Road which boasts a higher RG will be good for those early hooking surfaces early on or as a step down off the bigger balls like the Super Nova. I see this ball fitting in my bag on the early hooking surfaces so I can keep everything in front of me early on without giving away the pocket. I have found the sanded finish provides plenty of blend off the backend as opposed to the stronger angular shapes we seen from the Hy-Road Pearl. Also, do not be afraid to polish this ball to create a longer more angular shape.
The Phaze 5 like the other Phaze balls does not disappoint. a direct replacement for the 4 the 5 provides plenty of continuation down lane when making its move off the spot. This ball will go with me everywhere I bowl and be that step down ball off the bigger asym or solid sym's. When you are looking to start creeping in and opening those angles up this ball will be one of your best assets.

The Storm Phaze 5 features R2S Pearl Reactive, Velocity Core, and comes with the new Reacta Gloss finish. The Phaze 5 is the newest ball in the Phaze line and a remake of the Phaze 4. If you were missing the polish on Stormâs balls recently, it is back with the new Reacta Gloss finish. The Phaze 5 was surprisingly clean and round/controlled shape. The Phaze 5 shapes very similar to the Phaze 2 except it is much longer. Compared to the Phaze 4, it is a bit longer and rounder. The Phaze 4 seemed to stand up earlier and sharper off the end of the pattern. For me, the Phaze 5 allows me to move right and play straighter angles. A lot of the houses where I bowl have a ton of friction in the front part of the lane and I have had no issues getting the Phaze 5 through that friction. If you are needing a ball when there is a lot of friction, game two or three in league, or later in tournament blocks then the Phaze 5 will be a perfect fit. Another home run for the Phaze line!

The new Storm Phaze 5 features the R2S Pearl Reactive coverstock wrapped around the highly successful Velocity Core found in the Phaze 2 and 3. The Phaze 5 features the new Reacta Gloss factory finish. The RG at 15lbs is 2.48 and the differential is .051. This ball complements the Phaze 2 quite well. For me, the Phaze 5 is the longest and strongest of all the Phazes. The pearl coverstock gets this ball down the lane even further than the Phaze 3 and the backend is definitely more angular than the other Phazes as well. The Phaze 5 allowed me to stay closer to the friction all night and to my surprise did not overhook when I missed to the friction early. This ball is actually a little longer than I expected so I hit the ball with a used 3000 abralon pad just to get the box finish off and the result was exactly what I was looking for. It started up about a foot sooner and smoothed out the backend reaction. The Phaze line has produced another winner with the release of the Phaze 5.

The Phaze V is the successor to the Phaze 4, which was loved by a lot of tournament bowlers and league bowlers alike. I put the same layout on my Phaze V that I still have on my Phaze 4, and to say they are different is an understatement. I drilled my V 4.25x4x4, and it is just as clean through the fronts has my 4 was, but I see a much more dynamic shape down lane. The 5 responds much faster to friction and is more angular compared to its predecessor. This ball fits between the 900 Global Zen and the new Night Road. The Zen is much earlier for me and smoother off the back, and the Night Road is much cleaner and sharper off the breakpoint in comparison to the Phaze V.
The new Reacta Gloss finish definitely pairs up really well with the R2S Pearl coverstock, and was really good out of the box compared to other polished balls I've thrown out of the box. I've never been a huge fan of polish, but this compound is something different for sure.

The Storm Phaze V is the newest ball in the master line. This is the same cover formula as the Phaze 4 just a different color variation. The Phaze V is going to give you a very clean look and a nice move on the backend. This ball is going to be a great transition ball when your Phaze 2 or Zen soul is not retaining enough energy through the pins. If you had a Phaze four that you did the exchange for this is going to be your replacement. The ball is just a touch longer and has a touch more pop. Reacta gloss is also the new polish formula and gives a nice tacky feel. If you weren't a fan of the polish this ball is very good with surface adjustments. Get yours now

Stormâs new Phaze V is a Symmetrical piece that is good for Medium lane conditions. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Fragrance is Blueberry Crumble. Drilled this piece with the Pin to the right of the Ring and CG in the palm. Out of Box motion didnât turn the corner but after I hit it with 2000 then 3000 it rolled a lot better. Clean through the fronts with a smooth continuous backend reaction. Compared to the Phaze 4, this layout on the Phaze V is similar through the fronts but smoother on the backend.

Stormâs newest Master line ball comes with the proven Velocity core and R2S Pearl cover stock. The Phaze 5 is a similar ball to the Phaze 4 with the only real difference between the two is that the Phaze 5 comes with Stormâs new Reacta Gloss finish. I drilled mine 5.5 x 5 x 5 and WOW do I love this ball! Iâve been throwing it in league for a couple weeks now and the motion that this ball gives is an absolute home run. It gives me that Phaze 2 shape on the backend but is a lot cleaner in the front part of the lane. This is going to be one of those balls that everyone must have and with the Velocity core you can drill it multiple ways depending on the motion you are looking for. Also this ball goes through the pins so well and absolutely hits like a truck. Iâve never seen a ball go through the pins like this Phaze 5. This new Storm Phaze 5 is what I was hoping out of the Phaze 4. It contains the famous Phaze core, wrapped with the R2S coverstock which is on the HyRoad Pearl. This ball is cleaner than the Phaze 4, quite a bit actually, which gives it way more pop and continuation down lane. This ball will be coming out of my bag on house shots and when the lanes are hooking quite a bit. For me, the Phaze 5 with its current finish fits between my original Wolverine and my Wolverine Dark Moss. It is going to come out when the lanes are hooking, but with most shiny balls, can be used earlier if you apply some surface to it. You will not be disappointed in getting this ball as it is exactly what we needed!

Review: The Phaze line of bowling balls has been a mainstay in the Storm line for years now with the longevity and success of the Phaze 2. The original Phaze had enough bowlers striking that the rest were no brainers. The Phaze 5 fits right into the line where the others couldnât find a home. Utilizing the new Reacta Gloss finish, this ball is the first in months to come out of Utah with a shiny finish and it doesnât disappoint. Iâve been a big fan of the Infinite Physix since its release, and it seems to get even better the more itâs thrown, and the lane shine starts to take effect. In comes the Phaze 5 which doesnât have to wait! The polished finish helps it clear the heads much cleaner later in the block and still offers that strong continuous motion weâve come to know and love from strong Storm symmetrical bowling balls. Where the Infinite Physix stands up, the Phaze V just keeps going. These two balls are great compliments to one another when it comes to shape and strength, so why not get both I your bag?

This ball is a great Marquee piece to my arsenal, however, it is made for a hard thrower with lots of Revs down the alley. I am a slow roller now with 63 years of Bowling in Tournaments and Leagues. It is and can be a much better ball for someone with a much better caliber in higher mph down alley-not for a beginner or 2n-3rd tier bowler.

The new Storm Phaze V is the latest release in the Master Line of bowling balls. Like the previous Phaze releases it features the Velocity Core, paired this time with the legendary R2S Pearl. I have yet to throw a ball with this core or this cover that I don't love so the combination has had me very excited since it was announced.
This is the first Pearl release in the Phaze like that rolls exactly like I would expect a Pearl Version of the Phaze II to roll. It is clean through the front of the lane and makes a strong even motion in the back-end. It's certainly not as responsive to the friction as the Phaze 4 was, which helps extend the window that it hooks in down-lane. The result is a perfect ball to transition too when your phaze 2 is seeing too much of the middle part of the lane but you still want to control the down-lane reaction without having to worry about the ball not saving energy.
I have thrown the Phaze 5 for a few weeks now on our longer heavier house pattern. It is certainly strong enough to close angles down a bit and throw it on the fresh but it's fantastic when the lanes start to transition. My favorite ball motions when you start to see the transition are the ones that let you know the lane is changing without making you pay with a 5 count for not seeing it coming ahead of time. This ball is perfect for that. It also responds well to hand position changes which will keep you in the ball for much longer than you would expect.
I see this ball being a staple in tournament bags to compliment the Phaze II. If I find a condition where I don't think it's useful, I'll let you know but it hasn't happened yet and at this point I would be greatly surprised.

Iâve been throwing my Phaze 5 in league for a couple of weeks now. Like many, I assumed it was going to be the Phaze 4 under cover. Itâs not, and thatâs OK.
Fortunately, I still throw my Phaze 4 regularly, so I can see a direct comparison. The first thing I noticed was a cleaner push through the front of the lane. Iâm positive thatâs due to the addition of the Reacta Gloss finish. Otherwise, like the other Phazes… this ball continues the benchmark of being one of the most aggressive symmetrical balls on the market.
Loving what Iâm seeing and if youâre wondering if this would be a wise replacement for your Phaze 4 at events where that ball is banned, Iâd say YES. Is it a 100% clone? No. But you can rest assured that Velocity Core and R2S pearl cover are every bit the winning combination you expect them to be.

The Storm Phaze V utilizes the Velocity Core and R2S reactive coverstock. This great looking, great smelling, new release is much anticipated. Here is a fact that I wasnât aware of. The Velocity Core was used in the Storm El Nino 2000. Now I understand why I had a lot of success with the El Nino 2000. The Phase V is what I have been looking for in that transition ball. I have had a chance to use it in league and tournament. The Phase V is very clean in the front part of the lane with a strong move on the back end. I have been using it in Games 3 and 4 of a 4-game league. It is my ball down from the 900 Global Altered Reality. The new Storm Fate is also an option in this ball reaction category.

The Phaze 5 is the return of R2S Pearl on the Velocity core. The result is a great blend of entry angle and control. The cover gives this ball length, while the core helps it pick up in the midlane and continue through the pins. This ball is great as a ball down from your big asyms or solid symmetricals. The milder straight reactive pearl formula of this coverstock means this ball is in play on a lot of different lane surfaces and conditons. This ball fits a great spot in the bag for many different styles. Go to your local pro shop and pick one up. You won't be disappointed!

Who doesnât LOVE R2S pearl?!? I get excited every time this cover gets put on a new release. Obviously this comes on the back of the Phaze4 tournament exclusion, but Iâm so glad this is the road Storm took! Comparing this ball to the Phaze4 is pretty easy, same cover, same core, just different colors! Does this equal different ball reaction…The answer is yes.
The Phaze5 is a bit earlier and more rounded. I actually like this motion, I even leaned on mine with a fresh 3000 to make it dig a little more!
This ball is right in the middle of the line up for me, I still used the Phaze4 all the time but I like the box surface on that one.

The Storm Phaze V is the next iteration of the famed Phaze series of bowling balls and features the proven Velocity core paired with the renowned R2S pearl reactive coverstock. The Phaze V replaces the Phaze 4 in Stormâs lineup following USBCâs removal of the Phaze 4 from approved-use in national tournament competition. At first glance, the Phaze V appears to be a direct replacement for the Phaze 4 in that they are the same core/cover combo. However, the major difference (besides the color and blueberry crumble scent) is that Phaze V is the first Storm ball to come with the new Reacta Gloss factory polish finish which replaces the previous 1500-grit factory polish. As a result, Phaze V feels a touch cleaner and is able to change direction harder off the friction downlane compared to Phaze 4.
I typically find myself on the fence when it comes to factory polish. There have been some balls where Iâve left the ball shiny and others where Iâve cracked the cover with an Abralon pad. With Phaze V, I wanted to try out the new Reacta Gloss factory polish before making any changes to the surface. For the first 5-6 games I found the reaction to be very sensitive to the oil, but as soon as I moved right the ball immediately checked. I decided knock some of the shine off with a used 1000-grit then 3000-grit Abralon pad by hand, which resulted in a much better reaction by blending out some of the over/under yet retaining that quicker motion on the backend. If you are/were a fan of the original 1500-grit factory polish, I think youâll be a fan of Reacta Gloss. Even if youâre not a fan I suggest you first give it a try before knocking the shine off.
The Phaze V is a perfect step down from the Phaze 2 or Infinite PhysiX and is a step up from balls like the Hyroad Pearl or Night Road. After knocking some of the shine off, Iâve found it to be very versatile and is my go-to for medium volume house patterns and is a great transition ball for both league and tournament play. Bowlers of all styles will get plenty of use out of Phaze V, and it will fill that spot in your tournament bag for when the lanes open up and you can create steeper launch angles. You wonât want to miss out on this one.

The Phaze V is the newest ball in Stormâs iconic Phaze line. Storm has combined the velocity core with the R2S pearl reactive cover stock. I tested this ball on a 42 feet typical house pattern. The Phaze V is a little cleaner than the Phase 4, which allows me to play further to the right and stroke the ball. Phase V reads the midlane very well with a strong finish on the backend. This ball is very versatile I was able to the right and left of the track area without losing any hitting power. This ball will be in my bag for league and tournaments. The specs of the Phaze 5 should look very familiar. R2S pearl cover plus the Velocity core is the same combination that was on the Phaze 4… HOWEVER they roll distinctly different. I donât know if itâs the different polish and finish or the color pigment differences, but there is a clear shape difference in the 2 balls. The P4 is a more angular shape than the 5. Now I have not yet tried to mess around with the cover on the Phaze 5 because I love the way it rolls (the Phaze 4 was slightly too clean to be a staple in my bag).
Because of all this, I love what I see from the Phaze 5. Because of how clean the R2S cover is, it can sometimes be overpowered by the core but that is not the case with the Phaze 5. I see it as the perfect next ball down from the Phaze 2 and unlike the Phaze 4 it maintains a similar shape.
So if you want a step up from a Night Road or HyRoad, or a step down from the Phaze 2 or Infinite Physix, the Phaze 5 fills that gap.

The same cover/core combo as Ph4ze but ball motion wise they are not the same for me. Phaze V is MUCH QUICKER downlane. The Phaze series continues on with the new Phaze 5. This updated version of the Phaze series features the all new Reacta Gloss finish applied to the R2S coverstock. If you have enjoyed the Phaze series this is a must have. If you are looking for a great reaction on a variety of house patterns the Phaze 5 is sure to be a winner for most styles of bowling.
I've enjoyed the oob Reacta Gloss finish on this ball. In comparison to the 1500 polish finish the all new Reacta Gloss finish appears to be cleaner through the fronts and more controlled in comparison to the Phaze 4 with the 1500 polish finish. The Phaze 5 provides nice length and great punch with a high degree of control. In my opinion, the Phaze 5 and Phaze 4 are definitely different in overall reaction due to the Reacta Gloss finish.
The Phaze 5 is a nice addition for any arsenal and you'll likely find a spot in the bag for most medium and THS patterns. The blend of length, overall strength and control provides a lot of options for this piece. The Phaze 5 is quickly becoming one of my favorite balls in the bag. Be sure to grab one today!

Storm Phaze V
Coverstock: R2S Pearl Reactive
Core: Velocity
Layout: 4.5 x 3 x 2
The Phaze V (P5) has the R2S Pearl Reactive cover wrapped around the lower RG Velocity core. The P5 plays a bit weaker than I expected due to the super clean cover and is better suited for me as a transitional ball because it gets a bit caught up in fresh oil. I found the Phaze 4 a bit more round and early than the new P5. The new P5 is most comparable in my bag currently to the Night Road in overall hook potential, but they are quite different in shape. The Night Roadâs cover is much stronger and the P5âs cover is much cleaner. I like this combo because I can fine tune shape to optimize carry given what the lane wants.
I think the P5 will prove to be a favorite among a variety of styles given that most bowling centers have more hook these days.

It's perfect for the house shot when have not much oil or at end tournament. The Phaze 5 with a pearl coverstock is smoother than I expected and I AM IN LOVE! With the popular phaze core its a awesome combination that I was looking for when I need a ball to get down lane but not be too sharp in the backend like a traditional pearl does. Much more controlled yet strong and goes through the pins very well!
My layout is 5 1/4 x 4.5 x 3 which puts the pin over the bridge and kicks the CG out. With it being a smoother ball I am able to stay in the ball longer especially during league on a house shot. Comparing it to the Phaze 4 I had to knock off the shine on the Phaze 4 with it being 1500 polished to read and not sail down lane. With the Phaze 5 I kept it at factory reacta gloss finish and reads much better and is stronger overall. Phaze 5 will be a great ball for league!

PHAZE V. The Phaze line the most stable in the Storm line introduces the Phaze V. A new pearl version with the R2S cover stock and featuring the new reacta shine. Typically the Phaze line for me is rather smooth and consistent for me . This Phaze V was super quick through the fronts and really sharp on the back end for me not something I was expecting. But this ball does take well to surface and after hitting it lightly with a 2000 I read a little earlier and slowed down for me. I find this time to time that I need to hit the cover a little to get a better reaction. I laid this one out 4.5x4.5x3.

This was a very pleasant surprise to see the new Phaze V released to replace the Phaze 4. I really liked the Phaze 4 very disappointment when it was DCâd due to unfortunate circumstance. The Phaze 5 is no disappointment. The Phaze line is one of my favorites. The Phaze V is a bit smoother and cleaner than the 4 and still as that nice strong backend motion with strong continuation we expect to see from the Phaze Line. I struggled a bit with the surface out of box made a change to 2000 polished and man did this ball come alive had several high series in league. The Phaze V will be very versatile for most all play styles. This ball is in the bag right next to the Zen! Good Luck and Good Scoring!

The Phaze V is one of the newest additions to the Master line at Storm. After having a lot of success with this line over the years, I was excited to see this updated version of the Phaze. So far, the first four versions of the Phaze have provided us with different shapes, and the 5th version is no different. The engine remains the same with the Velocity core, but the coverstock is wrapped with the R2S pearl to give bowlers a quicker response time down lane.
Iâve drilled one so far and after some surface adjustments, really like it. I drilled it with the pin above my bridge and a small shift of the CG, coming out to 5.5 x 4.5. I also adjusted the surface to 2000 after a few games. Iâve noticed I can use the Phaze V once the Reality, Gem, or Infinite Physix start to slow down too much. The Phaze V flies through the front, changes direction extremely well down-lane, and strikes a bunch.
It's likely youâve seen some or all of the Phaze series over the years, and theyâve been impressive. The Phaze V is no different and should be the next ball you drill!

This is my first bowling ball that I own now and itâs fantastic. It arrived on time and I have now been using it in games and feel like Iâm getting better myself thanks to this.

Donât expect a lot of down lane motion with this ball. Yes, I started the review that way because people think pearl=snappy. Well thatâs not the case with this ball. The Phaze core is early at 2.48 and diff .051 so it wants to get started and continue down lane. The cover is so clean being R2S Pearl that you need to bowl on a surface where the midlane hooks and the backs are clean to see the âsnappyâ motion. If not, you will see a much smoother continuous motion. I drilled 2, 5 ¼ x 3 ½ x 2 ½ and 5 x 3 ½ x 4 ¾ and the 2nd one fits the situation better. I love using the âricoâ pin down ball motion when the lanes are hooking an uncontrollable amount and this purpose for the ball is hard for a bowler to understand. Its used to completely blend out everything while continuing to keep the ball in play. This layout for me never sees the lane too early and I have the clean cover and layout to help make that possible. I will add, its not the best on PBA Patterns but very good on drier house conditions or when the lanes break down.

Storm Phaze V Ball Review
Bowler Stats:
Speed: 15.5 MPH
Rev Rate: 300 RPM
Tilt: 3-5 degrees
Axis Rotation: 60 degrees
PAP: 5 â
over 1 ¼ up
Layout: 5 X 41/2 X 23/4 VLS
With the removal of the Phaze 4 from the line and the release of the Phaze V which has the same core and cover as the 4 but with a new Reacta gloss polish I was anxious to try it. I drilled the Phaze 4 too strong with a 4 inch pin placement and this caused the ball to be too early and forward off the end of patterns. Even though the R2S Pearl cover is a weaker one this ball still picks up in the midlane nicely and the Reacta Gloss polish gives it a smoother shape off the dry instead of the sharper shape of the 1500 polish surface of the Phaze 4.
I was able to drill another Phaze 4 with the same layout as the Phaze V for my video review and the out of box finish for both of these balls gives them a slightly different look off the dry. They are both clean through the fronts, began to pick up in the midlane but with the polish on the Phaze 4 was quicker off the dry on the house shot than the Reacta Gloss polish on the Phaze V. Bowling a second shift league gives me the chance to use the Phase V during the first game as the lanes transition. Since the Phaze V was not released until after the PBA 50 season I have not used it on any sport patterns.
After putting some games on the Phaze V I have scratched it with a 2000 abralon pad to help with the over/under reaction.

The rebirth of the beloved Phaze 4, the Phaze 5 is coming at you! The Phaze 5 has the R2S pearl coverstock and the trusted core found in all the phazes. I will say that the Phaze 5 is close to the 4, but a little more cleaner and harder off the spot. I see this ball succeeding the most on heavier medium and long oil patterns after the first transition from your solid symmetrical to your pearl symmetricals.
This is a ball we need back in the line and the R and D department did an amazing job releasing this piece. The ball is here to stay and I am sure everyone will be throwing this ball at league and a lot of tournament patterns. Donât miss out on this hot piece and pick it up at your local storm VIP pro shop.

This ball is absolutely phenomenal. I bought it thinking that it would be a little stronger than my other balls but itâs a whole lot smoother and cleaner compared to my other bowling balls.

The Phaze V has become my go-to ball for the medium-lighter house shot conditions that I see on a day-to-day basis. It is very clean through the front of the lane, and has a strong backend reaction without being too quick. I would classify it as a hard arc reaction. I'm able to play straighter with it, or move in deeper when the lanes break down. I don't like using the Phaze V when fresh heavier amounts of oil are present; the Fate is better if there is only a bit too much for the Phaze V, or (of course) the Phaze II if there is a lot more oil.

Storm Phaze V
Layout and surface information: 5.5 x 4.5 x 3 out of box with Reacta Gloss - but adjusted to 4K Fast.
My intention for this Phaze V was to add it to my new 6 ball tournament arsenal line for mid to heavy length and volume condition tournaments where I know the surface tends to be a little tougher to deal with, or just know that piece I can lean on when needed like most higher level bowlers that use Phaze IIs, iQ Tours, or Hy Road lines. I use more hybrid pearlized and pearlized covers over solid coverstocks. I found that the surface adjustment fitted better to my game of higher revs, and mid to low ball speeds. Using it out of the box the Phaze V floated on the fronts and mids of the lane and did not quite come off the pattern like my âeyesâ like to see. I need a little earlier motion for my comfort zone. If the balls take too long to develop in the back end, I tend to try to force it straighter or do something that I know wonât work well, but it is human nature to try to âcontrolâ things. The Phaze V ball did recover a ton when I opened up the angles to feed the ball farther down the lane and make the breakpoint closer to the backend but without duck hooking and hitting behind the 1-2 pocket. It 100 PERCENT shreds the pins once it gets there. I really, really love my Phaze V at 4K fast finish.

I am higher speed, rev challenged 220-250ish, high tilt, high rotation, and super low track player. The Phase 5 has definitely become one of my favorite newer releases. I drilled mine 5x3x2 and my axis point is 3 1/4 right and 7/8 up. The Phase 5 is a perfect addition to my arsenal because it allows me to ball down from my Exotic GEM, stay right, but still provides the same shape and continuation I need. This ball definitely does not disappoint and the Blueberry Crumble scent is amazing!

Storm's very successful Phaze line has a new addition called the Phaze 5. The Phaze 5 is basically a replacement for the Phaze 4. I recently changed to 14lbs so the RG is a little higher from 2.48 to 2.53 of the 15lbs. Which the higher RG helps me with my roll being a little different. As in the past the phaze series was a little too midlane for me.
I drilled mine 4 x 2.5 x 2 and I hit the cover with a light 2000 pad as the reacta gloss finish doesn't roll very good for me. For me this is the best Phaze release as I get the very good midlane roll, and still has the strong arc motion downlane. Its not as quick response as Fate or Revenant but round enough to go through the pins the correct way.
I'd say its a good ball to go down to when the bigger Asyms like Gem, Reality start to bog down a little. But stronger than the Fate, Revenant, Hyroads.

So my initial idea with drilling the Phaze V was something to take the spot of my Zen in the bag. Very similar drillings but since the RG is a little higher on the Phaze V we brought the pin a little closer to the PAP to try and mimic the little bit earlier/stronger ball motion the Zen provides. At box finish, the Reacta Gloss was a little too squirty in the oil so I decided to take a 2000 pad to it by hand and that certainly made the ball perform more to my liking. The ball still makes a very strong move off the dry, and enters the pocket with a nice heavy rolling motion which enabled a high carry percentage. Adding a little surface to the cover certainly fit my eye much better as the very late breaking "hockey stick" motion doesn't typically work the best for me and I tend to leave a number of single pins. Getting the Phaze V into a roll earlier, from front to back, yielded much better results. This will be a great ball for opening up your angles and circling the lane left to right especially on medium or slightly drier conditions.

The Storm Phaze 5 is definitely a necessity! It has the well know R2S Pearl Cover with the Velocity Core, it is a great compliment to the Phaze 2 and Zen. Compared to the Phaze 4, I think the Phaze 5 is a little cleaner with more downlane motion. It is definitely weaker than the Zen but a great ball down from it. For all you players who have a higher rev and have problems controlling your ball reaction, this is the one for you!
