For those who loved the Spectre we have the Revenant. Same cover/core as the Spectre although the Revenant has the new Reacta Gloss finish. When the lanes really begin to hook early the Revenant will be a great option to go to that will clear the fronts and provide plenty of continuation down lane. I see the Revenant being a step down off of the Fate.

The Storm Revenant utilizes the Vector core and R3S pearl reactive coverstock. This is my most anticipated releases in some time. I have been wanting a replacement for the Spectre. From what I saw, the Revenant is longer than the Spectre but still a special ball. We compared the Storm Absolute to the new Storm Revenant. The Revenant stored energy better and was sharper on the back-end compared to the Absolute. The Revenant is a stronger version of a Hy-Road in my opinion.
I was able to do something with the Revenant that I have never done. I went out a put an honor score with it the second game I threw it. I was able to shoot 300 in my Monday Night League. As you may guess, the Revenant already has a special place in my heart and bowling bag.

The New Storm Revenant brings back the same core/coverstock combination from the recently USBC banned Spectre but with the new Reacta Gloss Finish. I found a very similar overall shape to the Spectre but with the Reacta Gloss Finish, I found the Revenant to be a slighty smoother shape overall. The higher RG value of 2.54 gives me a little too much length for my style on both the house and sport patterns. With my house pattern being 44ft, it is hard to be able to use a ball that gives a lot of length within a 3-game set. The Revenant will be a really good late game ball in a longer tournament format or where the lanes are hooking a lot more than I am used to in my current league environment.
Comparing the Revenant to the brand-new Absolute, I saw about a 4 board weaker motion and significantly more length throughout the whole lane. In order to see closer ball motion, I changed the surface of the Revenant to 2000 abralon. This gave me stronger ball motion and earlier hook where I needed to see it. Depending on your style, the Revenant should allow you to stay in the same zone on the lane where you were using a stronger ball due to its overall length. Those with higher rev rates will definitely see a skid flip reaction that is generally desired. Those with lower rev rates might face a challenge seeing this one hook in the right part of the lane. A surface adjustment or buying the stronger Fate would likely be a better alternative.

The Revenant has risen and it’s bringing back a core/cover combination that was extremely popular in the Spectre. The design intent was to create a ball that will appeal to fans of the Hy-Road and Trend series, but were looking for something in between. The Revenant gives me a great look during league starting at 16-17 at the arrows with my breakpoint around 7-8. The Revenant will be an excellent ball to start with on lighter conditions and the second/third ball out of the bag on medium to heavy conditions as the lanes transition. Tournament bowlers will love how easily it clears the fronts and doesn’t jump too hard off the friction. Within my arsenal, it fits between my Fate and Night Road, but is cleaner and smoother than both. If you are a fan of the original Hy-Road or were waiting for a replacement for the Spectre, Revenant is here! Stop by your local Storm VIP pro shop to check it out!

Revenant is defined as, “one that returns after death, or a long absence.” The Revenant is essentially the long awaited return of the Spectre, as it has the exact core/cover combination as the Spectre. I do see Spectre characteristics in the Revenant but I think the new out of box Reacta Gloss finish increases how clean the Revenant is compared to the Spectre out of box. The Revenant glides through the heads with ease but doesn’t seem to wiggle down lane in the oil, which is awesome on those misses inside. I see the Revenant as a bit stronger HyRoad Pearl and that logical step up from the Electrify line. I have thrown the Revenant at a couple of bowling centers on very different THS patterns. At one particular house, I find it hard to blend the lane with shiny balls. The Revenant was clean like my Phaze 5 but seemed to retain more energy and continue harder on the backend. Compared to my Fate, the Revenant is a nice step down.
Based on what I have seen, the new Revenant will excel in bowling centers with a lot of hook built into the pattern/lane (wood, high friction synthetics, etc.) and for bowlers with slower ball speeds and/or heavier handed bowlers… And, it smells great (Bear Claw).

The Storm Revenant features the R3S Pearl Reactive, Vector Core, and comes with Reacta Gloss finish. The Revenant is the replacement for the Spectre that was banned last year with the factory finish and color being the only differences in the balls. First thing I noticed with this ball is it is really clean through the fronts and has some down lane motion. It seemed a touch cleaner and more down lane shape than the Spectre. For me, this ball will sit in my bag when the lanes start to transition, and I am needing something that will handle the burn. I compared it to the Fate in the current line and when the Fate is starting to read the lanes early and I am looking for a ball that will get down the lanes, I can switch to the Revenant. It is going to be a great combo with the Fate. One of the releases everyone has been waiting for and another great addition to the catalog!

Review:
The Revenant, is it considered new or is it a reboot? The Revenant's intent is to provide a mid-range RG option which some bowlers feel may have been missing in recent months from the Storm line of bowling balls. In my opinion this ball with Reacta Gloss provides a slightly different shape from its predecessor but the ball is seeing the same success with testers so far.
For me, I tested the Revenant on two different THS patterns. Scenario One: where alot of traffic took place and carry down was evident and Scenario Two: where the lanes were drying up after some higher average league bowlers finished up some practice. The Revenant performed pleasingly well within both situations.
I went ahead and used the Revenant and also the Night Road at OOB to collect some data. For the drying lane scenario the Revenant was very clean yet not overly jumpy. I felt there was room to move both inside and outside without a cover change. For the carry down scenario, although not ideal, I could still use this ball. The Night Road was more sensitive to the conditions and slightly more limited. If I had more time I would have used some surface on the Night Road.
The Revenant overall is a nice addition to the Storm line. I do feel the Reacta Gloss finish has a cleaner and more rounded shape on recent releases. To me, this makes for easy surface adjustments to the OOB finish to fit balls in the lower part of the arsenal. Definitely consider adding a Revenant to your line-up of balls.

The Spectre was a staple in many peoples' bags for the short time it was available, and many longed for Storm to bring it back. The Revenant is back featuring the same R3S Pearl cover that wraps the Vector core. I refinished mine with 500-1000-Step 2 compound (1500-grit polished). With a layout of 4.25x3.75x3.75, my Revenant is incredibly smooth and controllable. This ball is clean through the fronts and makes a strong, continuous backend motion. While I never threw the original Spectre, the Revenant is like the Fate and HyRoad had a child. I get the strong motion from the Fate, with the continuation of the Hyroad. This ball is going to be very good on challenging sport conditions or house shots to help blend cliffs. The R3S pearl cover is not overly responsive, and the Vector core helps the ball make the corner off the end of the pattern.
Comparing the Phaze V to the Revenant, the V has the Velocity Core wrapped in a weaker R2S Pearl cover. The main two differences in these balls in reaction lies within the core, as the Phaze V has a lower RG. The Phaze V wants to naturally pick up sooner on the lane despite having a weaker cover, and is more forward off the back of the pattern.

Spectre 2.0?!?!??? Introducing the Revenant from Storm Products! This ball features the R3S Pearl Coverstock wrapped around the Vector Core which is the same exact specs and numbers as the Spectre!
My Revenant is drilled closer to my pap by a half of an inch and for me this ball is tad earlier and smoother off the spot than the original Spectre! This a different shape in the Storm Line for a smoother shiny piece for a wide variety of patterns!!

Storm has done it once again with the Revenant! A duplicate of the Storm Spectre! They brought back the Vector core and wrapped it with the same R3S Pearl coverstock. This ball is exceptionally clean through the fronts but maintains a smooth reaction down lane! If you have a Storm Fate and you need something just a touch later down lane, the Revenant would be a great compliment for you! I find that this ball works best for me when I need to slow down my ball speed and let the ball shape a little more. This ball already found a spot in my sport shot bag! When my Phaze 2 becomes too early and I need the extra length but not a super jerky reaction down lane, the Revenant comes out!

Storm’s new Revenant is a Symmetrical Pearl piece that is good for Medium conditions. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Rev Rate: 400. Speed: 16.5. Drilled this piece with the Pin up between the fingers and CG kicked out 1” from the palm. Out of Box ball motion is clean through the fronts with a smooth motion on the backend. I took a 2k and 3k Abralon afterwards and it was still clean through the fronts with a stronger continuous backend motion. I compared this piece to the Spectre, Fate, Phaze V and Night Road. This is similar-2 more than the Spectre. Fate was 2-2 left of the Revenant. Phaze V is a little weaker by 1-2 boards. Night Road is 0-2 more all around but with a stronger backend motion. This is a good replacement if you like the Spectre or are wanting to get a medium condition pearl piece.

The Storm Revenant is definitely a second coming. Once again the team up of the R3S pearl cover and the symmetric Vector core gives the bowler a new shape that fills and important gap. Design intent places it between a hyroad and a trend/fate type ball. The reacta gloss finish really gets this ball through the front so you can unleash the energy in the mids to backend.
I tested the Revenant first on the long high volume house pattern at my home center. While the ball clears the front pretty effortlessly, it definitely has enough hook to use on the fresh. In fact throwing the ball up against the friction was a really good look. I think a lot of rev challenged bowlers who like to play up the outside but don't want to throw a lot of surface will really love this ball.
Transitioning to throwing the ball more left to right was pretty seamless. The ball has great predictable motion and continues very well through the pins. Higher rev guys will love this ball in the transition. It gave me serious Marvel Pearl vibes in this part of the lane which is about as high a compliment as I can pay to a ball.
When transitioning even further in when the lanes started to really burn up I did have to make some pretty substantial release changes. My lower ball speed did cause the ball to slow down a bit too much when I was trying to cover alot of boards out into the friction. Keeping it in play here for me required me to either trap the ball closer to the pocket down-lane or really rotate my hand around the side of the ball to delay the reaction and make it more angular off the spot. Both worked really well. I suspect that this problem won't translate much to the guys who have higher ball speeds.
The only glaring difference that I noticed between the Revenant and what I remembered of my spectre is that the reacta gloss finish seems to make it a touch cleaner and it reads a little less reliably in heavy oil as a result. While the added length is a big plus for me, guys with more ball speed may want to take this ball back to the old 1500 polished finish. It's a simple fix but it seems to work wonders as this ball takes well to surface changes.

This ball is extremely smooth, yet finishes well. If you are a bowler that struggles with your ball coming too hard off the end of the pattern, I would give the revenant a try. I will use this games 2/3 of league, as well on sport patterns when I need to keep my window closed! Thanks all.

The Revenant is a new symmetric ball in Storm’s Thunder line. It’s basically a reskin of the Spectre, which featured the R3S Pearl coverstock, which is a step up in strength from R2S Pearl that’s on the Phaze 5. It also features the medium RG high diff Vector core that splits the difference between a strong symmetric core and something like the core in the Hy-Road series. It allows the ball to get further down the lane before revving up, but the amount of flare engages the cover to help get traction for stability and a strong move on the backend.
I’ve used the Revenant at several different surfaces on several different conditions. First, the box Reacta Gloss surface combined with the cleaner nature of the cover just made it too long and inconsistent for me, so I took it to 3000 grit by hand initially. This made it more controllable and consistent, but it’s difficult to get very deep by hand, so as I continued to bowl, it shined back up and was still cleaner than was comfortable for me. I resurfaced it to 1000 grit on a resurfacing machine, and then finished it with Storm’s Step 2 compound. After that, the reaction was much improved, still clean and sharp, but much more stable, much more controllable, and the more games I got on it, the stronger and better it reacted.
The Revenant has been the perfect daily driver in league ball. I like my Fate quite a bit, but it’s often just a touch too strong for regular use. The Revenant reacts very similarly but is a step down on strength. The round and punchy shape splits the difference between control and response, which maximizes forgiveness from left to right on the lane. It’s smooth enough to give me hold on misses inside, and responsive enough to give me recovery on misses out. While I see a slight difference in overall shape from the original Spectre, I used the Spectre frequently in the time I was able to, and the same is true for the Revenant. It’s rare for me to get through a set on a house shot without it getting extended use or at least making an appearance.
United States
The Storm Revenant is nothing but power. With the R3S Pearl Coverstock, it is very clean through all parts of the lane but has a wicked backend to back it up. This has been a perfect league ball for me and has seen some lane time when patterns get cliffed. The Revenant fit just above the Storm Phaze 5 and below the 900 Global Zen. This is the ball for everyone to have in there bag!

The ball that I personally have been waiting on since the Spectre left us way too soon. The Revenant has the same Vector core and R3S Pearl cover on it. I drilled mine 5 x 5 x 3 and let me tell you, once I knocked the Reacta Gloss of this ball, it made the same motion and shape as my Spectre pretty much. The Revenant might be a couple feet longer down lane but the similarities are close. I can see myself using this in multiple situations and different time in blocks. If you were a fan of the Spectre and want it’s replacement that has been missing. Look no farther than the Revenant!
United States
The Storm Revenant is meant as a replacement for the Storm Spectre. It has the same cover, the same weight block, just a different color, scent, and the new polish Reacta Gloss. I drilled my Revenant just as I did the Spectre. I have talked with many other bowlers and staffers who have done the same and many of them have stated the Revenant is very close to the Spectre, but maybe a little weaker in the mid-lane. However, for me, my Revenant is stronger in the mid-lane. Again, drilled them the same and I have a stronger mid-lane reaction with my Revenant. It is definitely meant for lower volume oil patterns or late in the day. Very good length and a very smooth transition at the end. Very similar to that of the Storm HyRoad Pearl. Compared to the Storm Absolute, on most patterns, I am at least 2 and 1 right w/my feet and target and at least 4 and 2 right compared to the Storm Fate. A good ball choice for late in the day and when you really need to control the reaction.
The pin buffer layout I used on the Revenant is 4 x 3 ½ x 1 ½. I am a tweener who tends to spin it some.
United States
Revenant
The Storm Revenant drilled 4 x 5 x 3 puts the pin just left of the ring finger and CG out. This is a great replacement for the spectre. For high rev bowlers this will be a great ball for league or lanes with high friction.
During league I noticed out the box it was going too long so I went and used a 3000 abralon pad by hand to change the surface and the ball came to life. Changing the surface gave me about 4 more boards to play so don’t be afraid to change the surface on it if needed to fit your game.
If you have the Storm Absolute having the Storm Revenant will be a great 1 2 punch especially for league both similar in motion, control and reaction.
Good comparison would be with the Storm Night Road both being pearls except the Storm Night Road has a much stronger cover (REX pearl) vs the Storm Revenant (R3S pearl). The Storm Night Road for me is 5 boards stronger. The Storm Revenant is smoother down lane so you could technically have both if you need one smooth and one with more back end. Another great piece from Storm!

Not gonna lie, when the Spectre was taken out of my hands, I was pretty bummed. So I couldn’t have been more thrilled for the remake in the Revenant! I drilled mine 5-1/4 pin with a 2” pin buffer which put my pin high above the bridge. I also hit mine with a 3000 abralon pad to take some of the OOB polish off to read the midlane sooner. WOWZA! Didn’t expect this much hook! I would say that this is close to the original Spectre, with great midlane read and a strong, arc-type motion to the pocket. Revenant, meaning “one coming back”, is the long awaiting replacement for the Storm Spectre. The new Revenant features the same R3S pearl reactive cover and Vector core as the Spectre, with the Reacta Gloss finish instead of 1500-grit polish. The Amethyst/Black color scheme is awesome and the Bear Claw scent smells great! I drilled the Revenant with the same layout as I had on my Spectre, and scuffed it lightly with a used 2000-grit Abralon pad just to knock some of the out-of-box shine off.
The Revenant is clean and controllable with a well-defined continuous motion off the breakpoint. The Spectre, in comparison, was a bit stronger in the mid-lane and had a smoother transition throughout each of the 3 phases of ball motion from skid, hook, and roll. In terms of total hook, the Revenant and Spectre cover the same number of boards but do it in a slightly different way – the Revenant is just a touch cleaner and quicker off the breakpoint, while the Spectre was a bit stronger in the mid-lane with a rounder shape on the backend. So even though the Revenant isn’t a direct replacement of the Spectre for me, it is awfully close and still fills the same spot in my bowling bag.
The Revenant is a great addition to the Storm lineup and will get a lot of play on medium to medium-low volume patterns or when you want to play a little closer to the oil line near the track. It’s already seen quite a bit of lane time, especially on older lane surfaces that have a fair amount of friction. For me, the Revenant fits right between the Fate and Night Road – when the Fate starts reading too early I can switch right into the Revenant, or if the lanes become beat up and I need to open my angles more I can switch from the Revenant to the Night Road. The Revenant is going to appeal to bowlers of all types, and especially those with slower ball speed or have a heavier hand, that are looking for a medium strength pearl ball that can clear the fronts and have a well-defined continuous downlane motion.

The Revenant is a very versatile ball. You can use the Revenant early if you want to play to the outside part of the lane. You can use it also in transition because it will not overreact in the oil if you get it in and will make it back if you leak it to the outside a little quick. The most impressive thing about the Revenant is the drive through the pocket and off the back of the lane. The smooth continuous motion is fantastic and great for pin carry. This ball is very close to the Spectre. The Revenant is a little earlier and a tad bit stronger but close enough to replace that hole in your bag where the Spectre was at. I really like the Revenant and will be going with me wherever I bowl. Hope you already have yours or get yours soon.

I sadly did not get a chance to throw the Spectre, so I was excited for the ‘Re-Release’ of it. With the Reacta Gloss and from talking to other bowlers, this ball is a tad more timid down lane than the Spectre was (I’ve noticed that with Reacta Gloss compared to 1500 Polish). The Revenant is extremely clean through the front part of the lane but weaker in the back part. Personally I would rather throw a Hy-Road Pearl in most situations when I would take this ball out of my bag. Since changing the surface to 2000 Polish I’ve seen more backend reaction and towards the end of Game 2, start of game 3 this ball really gives me an advantage during league. I’m excited to see it on some lower volume/shorter patterns after they blend out a little.

Is it really back from the dead? If you loved the Spectre allow me to introduce you to the Revenant. This ball has the same cover/core as the Spectre although the Revenant has the new Reacta Gloss finish. For me the balls have rolled differently and on my Revenant I had knocked off the shine to help the ball see the lane faster. Before knocking the shine off I did see the Revenant go much longer than the Spectre even at the same layouts. I did compare the Absolute and the Revenant in my video and as expected between these two balls I did find the Absolute longer and cleaner as the Revenant does try to dig into the lane faster and unless your house shot was a longer or higher volume I see the Revenant to be more of a tournament ball with other options in the SPI line for a THS.

The Revenant is the newest ball in Storm’s Thunder line. For me the Revenant fits in between the Hyroad and Trend series. The R3S Pearl Coverstock paired with Vector Core gives the Revenant a clean look through the front of the lane, allowing the ball to save energy on the backend for continuous striking action. I tested this ball on a 43 feet typical house pattern and 43 feet challenge pattern. As mid to low rev player l was able to stand right of center on the fresh and as far left as 33 board on the burn without losing any carrying power. For me being a balanced bowler who has his speed and rev rate matched up The Revenant for me is a middle of the bag pearl and allows me to create angle on higher friction environments towards the end of tournament blocks with this R3S pearl being stronger than R2S it allows this ball to not push as far down lane to where it doesn’t miss the mid lane and still has time to slow down on the backend to make its move to the pins.
Don’t sleep on this Revenant, Trust Me!

This ball was a small let down for me.It is definately not for me,only under rare circumstances, will I use this ball. This ball is not one for a slow roller like myself who throws between a 10-13 down the lane. This ball works better on a lighter -medium oil pattern, I have bowled 64 years and at age 73 not so good a bowler anymore, but can hold my own average between 153-169. I wish this ball was a better fit for me.Most high rev bowlers and speed demons would love this ball, even though it reacts slowly and once the oil gets dryer, grab another ball out of your arsenal. For people like me not a good choice. The quality & feel of the ball is comfortable, and does plow through the backend if thrown a little harder than I do,as for the front end it is deadly and will explode, but I am too slow a bowler now a days, gone are those days of 187-200 average, but this ball is a beautiful color.

It’s finally here the new Revenant. Replacement for the Spectre. The Revenant is very similar as the original Spectre. I took a 4000 pad to mine to knock off the polish. This ball is smooth and angler with a strong motion on the backend. Adding a little surface allowed the ball to read just a little earlier for me. I am not huge fan of higher RG balls. The 2.54 is about my limit. I believe the Revenant is a good ball for bowler that like a longer cleaner ball motion with a more angler backend. This will be a good transition ball for some when they are needing to move in with more angle. If you were a Spectre fan than you will not be disappointed with the Revenant.

The Storm Revenant is the replacement for the Spectre. It features the same Vector core with the R3S pearl reactive coverstock. The Revenant at 15lbs has a RG of 2.54 and a differential of .050. I drilled my Spectre pin down and it was a tad weaker than what I wanted so I drilled the Revenant 5 x 4 x 2 putting the pin above my middle finger. The ball reaction I got out of the Revenant was completely different than the Spectre. The Revenant, when it saw the dry made a tremendously strong move to the pocket. The Reacta gloss finish on this medium rg symmetrical ball made it incredibly clean through the front part of the lane and when it got off the pattern the ball just made a left turn to the pocket. The first game I threw with it I had 268 but I tripped 3 or 4 nine pins late. That just shows how much entry angle and continuation this ball had. I would recommend using the Revenant on flatter patterns, as the typical wet/dry house shot can create quite a bit of over under with this ball. Taking the polish off will quell the backend reaction a bit but this ball is still one designed to open up the lane. Definitely not the first ball out of the bag, but when the time comes to take it out, it will probably be the last ball you need for the night.
United States
One of the newest additions to the Thunder line at Storm is the Revenant. With an RG of 2.54 and differential of .050, the Revenant fits a perfect spot in my arsenal. If you were a fan of an Hy-Road, the Revenant can scratch that same itch. The Vector core and R3S pearl reactive coverstock provides players with length, a quick response time, and plenty of pop through the pins. It’s been a ball that I’ve used when the lanes have more friction and we need to create angle. It’s also been very competitive when I see older/more beat up lane surfaces.
I’ve drilled one so far and really like it. I’ve drilled it with the following layout: 4.5 x 4 x 2.5. This puts the pin above my ring with a small shift of a CG and I also adjust the surface down to 3000 by hand, just to smooth off the response time a bit. After the bigger cored asymmetrical balls start to bog down or not kick the corners, the Revenant is a perfect ball to go to.
I have noticed some of the lower rev rate players really like the Revenant because they can keep it in front of them, not have to move their feet all over the lane, and still maintain a great motion down-lane.
If you loved the Hy-Road like many did, need a ball for older lane surfaces, or for lighter volumes, the Revenant should be next ball you drill!

The Storm Replacement of the Spectre is the new Storm Revenant! I drilled mine 3 3/4 x 4 x 2 and took the surface down to 500-1000 and added Step 2 to get the Revenant close as I could to the original Spectre. I personally this the Revenant is very close to the Spectre reaction wise. If anything to me it might be a little smoother than the Spectre on the backend. As the Spectre was very very popular amongst all bowlers! I have drilled at least 4-5 Revenants in my shop and all my customers are very happy with the reaction. One bowler shot 800 right of the press with the Revenant. I have my Revenant under my Fate but above the IQ's and Hustle's.
Revenant shines the most to me when the heads start to go and I need to move left and open up my angles. Glad Storm brought back this motion into the line!

Revenant is the return of the Spectre. This ball features the R3S Cover, which is a step up from the flagship R2S formula. For me, the Revenant has been a great 2-ball to go to off of earlier shapes like the Phaze 2 and TNT. Revenant provides the perfect ball down when the lanes start to hook more front-to-back. The higher RG of the core adds length and helps the ball float through the earlier friction as the lanes transition.

With the removal of the Spectre from the line I was missing this core and cover combination. I matched up well with the Spectre so when Storm decided to release the Revenant which has the same Vector core and R3S coverstock I was excited to drill this one. I changed my layout from the 4 ½ pin placement on the Spectre to a 5 inch pin to give me a little more length so I can use the Revenant in later games during tournaments on patterns.
The out of box reacta gloss gave me too much length and an inconsistent reaction off the end of the patterns in league and during tournament play. I removed the reacta gloss with a 2000 pad by hand and this ball came to life. It now reads the midlane more consistently and gives me a more consistent motion off the dry. It is quicker off the spot than the Wolverine Dark Moss but not as quick as the Night Road.
I have had success using this ball in PBA 50 competition on the Weber 45’ pattern. For league play I need more friction down the lane to have success.

The Revenant. This is an interesting ball for me. Symmetrical reactive pearl kind of a remake of the spectre. I decided to lay this one out 45/5/75. Compared to the spectre its stronger down lane for me. Really enjoying using this ball on the fresh when i really want to create some angle into the pocket. But i am also enjoying it when i kinda have to square it up and keep that angle in front of me. Finding this ball to be very versatile for me and a def keep close by emergency ball.

Storm Revenant: R3S pearl reactive coverstock with the Vector Core
Layouts: 60 x 6 x 70 at 2000 grit polished and 60 x 1 ½ x 55 box condition – Reacta Gloss
My specs: Ball speed 15+, Rev rate 425, PAP 4 and up 13/16
Used on several different lane conditions and surfaces with both layouts. We first drilled the 60 x 6 x 70 and I noticed on SPL, there was not very much motion on the backend, so I tried a couple different surface changes and decided to park the ball until I got a chance tried it on different lanes. Then I tried out the 60 x 1 ½ x 55 on the SPL and as expected with the shorter pin to pap the ball read earlier and gave me a much better look on SPL. Took the 6 in pin ball to a center with well worn HPL and a lighter volume house pattern and that ball really reminded me of a Hy-Road, just a smidge smoother front to back and kept the track area in play for me. 4-6 boards right with my feet the 1 ½ in ball had a very similar look on the backend. Took both to a center with WOOD lanes and realized while it is important to have some longer pin to pap layouts – the 6 in pin ball was AMAZING. Kept the lane in play all through the night of practicing. 1 ½ pin ball did rev up because of the layout, but still had plenty of get up and go in the backend. With the 6in pin ball, the straighter I play, the better my carry is on WOOD and HPL. Both balls will serve a purpose for me when I hit up some upcoming tournaments. One of them will be the ball I start with just depends on the pattern length and what lane surface the centers will have. The Revenant is a great ball for any level of bowler. I have seen 2 handers, strokers, crankers, and anything in between use the Revenant at several matchmaker events and they are one of the most popular balls being purchased – even with the recent release of the Storm iQ Tour Ruby.

Review:
The Storm Revenant is reincarnation of the spectre. The Revenant sits in the thunder line and is going to have the same cover and core as the Spectre. If you were a fan of the spectre youre going to love the Revenant. Finished with Reacta Gloss this ball is going to go downlane maybe a foot or two more but gives that similar strong motion off the spot. If you want it to roll the same as the Spectre I would suggest taking it 1000 grit and step two compound. This is going to be a great transition ball under a Phaze 5 but stronger than a Hyroad pearl. Just like many others I was so bummed when I was told I could no longer throw my Spectre. Boy was I happy to see the news that we would be getting something very similar with the Revenant! This is my go to ball in leagues and tournaments. It is rare that I use a ball so equally in both settings. When I miss outside it still has enough energy to get back and at least make contact with the 1-3 and when I miss in it has amazing hold that I still never expect. I will definitely be stashing a few of these as love for a ball like this doesn't come along for me very often.

defined: a person who has returned, especially supposedly from the dead.
The most clever of ALL the names given to a ball, The Revenant is the 2nd coming of the Spectre. We know the Spectre was banned completely, with that being said, the shape it created was pretty unique in the line.
The Revenant came into the line with HIGH expectations. I shot 300/800 with it, straight off the press! After that I failed to find a place for it in the bag. I was just never what I was looking for exactly.
I changed surfaces on it a couple times taking it to 500 then step2. With no success. Later I tried 1000-3000 and Boom, there it was!
It needs mentioned that I injured my foot and had to lay out a few weeks. When I came back, something about the Revenant called my name. It was exactly what I needed with my slower ball speed. Strong, Smoother, Continuous motion!

R3S Pearl is together anew with the Vector Core, but with a fresh veneer and more reaction where it matters most: at the pins. Reacta Gloss is cutting-edge when it comes to surfaces. Very clean with strong backend motion.
COMMENTS
I use this on Med to light oil conditions. I am not usually not a pearl coverstock fan because I seem to get a lot of over under reactions with them. But not with this ball. I get a very consistent strong reaction. Very clean through the fronts and strong motion through the pins.

Double B Ball and Drill May 4, 2023
The Revenant for me has been a perfect if not better replacement for the Spectre. I love the look of the colors going down the lane and because they are darker it definitely gives me a more rounded shape on the lane that resembles and !Q Tour Solid. I drilled mine pretty strong with a 4x4x2 because I do have higher speed and the house I regularly bowl in has a pattern that definitely has some oil. So I needed it to read the body of the pattern later in the night and that’s exactly what it gives me. Come game 3 and 4 for league night this ball is no doubt coming out of bag it allows me to stay further to right and play on top of the track where carry is better instead of forcing me into 4th arrow or worse. The biggest thing that I love about this ball is that it almost never over reacts to friction on me, so if I do leak one right I don’t pay maximum penalty and honestly most of the time it strikes! But really if you are looking for a Spectre replacement then look no further than the Revenant but if you never got a chance to throw the Spectre and see what the hype was about then I suggest you give the Revenant a shot!

The new Storm Revenant a replacement for the ever-popular Spectre is definitely a close cousin. Drilled my go-to layout, 5 x 5 x 3 (pin above middle finger) OOB surprisingly ton of free skid. With my slower ball speed this ball gives a great look on a THS being able to play the track area. Hard, but predictable strong arc on the backend. Real easy ball for me to read the breakpoint. The ball lets me square up a bit and keeps angle of entry in front of me. When the lanes break down, especially up front the ball really lets me stay aggressive with my release. No worries of early hook. Experimented with a 3000 abralon to the cover. The Revenant turns into a smooth arcing benchmark ball for me on shorter, fresh patterns.
Quite the versatile ball from Storm. For a comparison longer and a tad sharper than the Dark Moss Wolverine. Definite must have for your tournament arsenal.

Following in the footsteps of the Spectre, the Revenent provides a smooth, consistent reaction on medium to medium-light oil conditions. It has enough midlane read to be used for straighter angles on some medium-heavier conditions, but it is most at home on medium oil. It is very clean in the front part of the lane, and has a smooth arc the rest of the way. The Revenant is a great step down from equipment such as the Exotic Gem, Infinite Physix, or Eternity, which are all at home on heavier conditions. The Revenant has more overall motion than balls such as the Electrify GO or BSY, and is smoother than the Hyped Pearl or HyRoad Pearl.

I am higher speed, rev challenged 220-250ish, high tilt, high rotation, and super low track player. The Revenant has definitely become one of my favorite newer releases. I drilled mine 5x3x2 and my axis point is 3 1/4 right and 7/8 up. The Revenant is a perfect addition to my arsenal because it allows me to ball down from my Phaze V and stay right. This ball retains a bit more energy down lane but still provides the shape and continuation I need. This ball definitely does not disappoint!
