Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
The Ethos Hybrid uses the Savvy Hook 4.0 Hybrid HK22C coverstock β a blend that reads the midlane while retaining more energy for the backend compared to the Ethos Solid. The symmetric Ethos core at 2.48 RG and .053 differential provides the same smooth, controllable motion as its sibling.
Who Is This Ball For?
League bowlers who want one ball to cover a wide range of medium-heavy conditions. The hybrid coverstock gives it more versatility than the solid variant, making it a strong benchmark piece for bowlers who donβt want to switch equipment mid-session.
The Pros
- • Hybrid coverstock blends oil read with backend continuation
- • More versatile than the Ethos Solid across varying oil patterns
- • Symmetric Ethos core provides smooth, predictable ball motion
The Cons

Bowlers frequently mention:
I drilled mine 75x5x30 and with that layout I got a fairly strong ball. With the 2k surface it was still very smooth thu the the front of the lane and still strong on the backend. With the 2k finish on it I was able to use this as a first ball out of my back.
When this ball hits the pins it just pops going through them. The pins don't know what hit them. With this ball being symmetrical core. The core/cover combination makes it a go to benchmark ball that is reliable and able to compete on most conditions.

This one grabs the lane earlier than the original and works both on the fresh and on the breakdown. The cohesion additive really adds to the utility and the predictable nature of this ball. The Ethos Hybrid is a great first ball out of the bag as it handles oil well, blends the wed dry, and also handles carrydown well. I found this ball to be perfect league ball and should find a spot in the bag for most styles. The Ethos hybrid is an ideal benchmark ball.
I absolutely love this bowling ball. It does every thing that the reviews says it does. I use a stroker style of bowling and my average went up considerably.

Ball: Brunswick Ethos Hybrid Coverstock: HK22C - SH 4.0 Hybrid Core: Ethos Factory Finish: 500, 2000 Siaair Micro Pad Layout: 50 x 5 x 15 The Ethos Hybrid finds itself sitting nicely in the benchmark symmetric slot in my bag. I went with a pretty standard tall pin up layout on this one which provides nice length and plenty of backend on fresh patterns with a bit of friction. The Ethos hybrid also performs well as the ball down option when the lanes start to transition and you need that stronger dull hybrid symmetric option before itβs time for the extra length a Vaporize or Ivory Rhino provides. This is a great option if you want a step down from the big core/big cover Mesmerize and Mindset balls of the world. Chris Freeland Average Rev Rate 400 Average Speed 18 mph PAP: 4 7/8 over 1/2 up
