This combination makes it particularly valuable for sport bowling and challenging lane conditions.
what's going on youtube we're back uh back in my new home sawgrass lanes uh today we have a very special release the black widow urethane black so this is a solid urethane we already have the pink widow urethane which is a pearl this solid so man this is going to be a very interesting release i'm hoping that this is just a little bit smoother that that pink one is a lot of ball and you know again it's compete with those balls like the uc3 uh and this one i'm really
hoping that's a little more usable that pink uridate is a lot honestly like i don't know when you see situations where you need that type of ball reaction but a again it's a widow people love it it's hammer ball so hey so let's get to it um as always hit that like subscribe button that helps to support the channel we're growing we're growing and if you want this ball use the link below uh so yeah man we're gonna get to some shots as always uh lastly i'm in my cool week jersey um use that that ten percent code uh hutch
tin uh also all that's in the description use that support the channel let's get some shots i had them done let's get to it later [Music] so here we go uh you saw the layouts the same as my pink widow um a little earlier uh not as much down lane in my opinion uh this ball season lands a lot a lot more and it's going to be smoother down
lane for urethane it's what urethane is uh just again it's just stronger said that big uh black widow core in it um it's the same core numbers uh the only thing different on this one particularly that we haven't seen is that it is a solid uh cover stock so that paint is really good uh so yeah man uh playing left with this is not what you should be doing uh unless again you're both on 35 feet
uh or something like really short uh that has a lot more defined friction uh so yeah man that's kind of just over man urethane is what it is man uh on house uh we might have some miles successful with those really high rev rate individuals but for the most part man this is a specialty uh piece uh the black widow pink again i think both are very very strong it's still early again for what was out here today's condition i was a little bit used how
shot so that's what again was what was out here what i had to have to bowl on but yeah man so as you can see they're both they both are close um but the pink is still a little more a little cleaner and a little more down laying where i feel like you know if i was facing a lot more volume this is where the black will shine um yeah again it's a lot earlier a lot stronger uh so you see it a lot smoother down lane um
but yeah man it's really very very simple but i can't really compare this ball to too much uh it's very unique to itself and if you like urethane you're gonna love this one if you have a purple the purple's gonna get a lot further down the lane uh as you see on these closer up shots um how this ball really is just picking up like it picks up just so much faster because of that pink and then i mean not the pink up because of the widow core and then also because of this particular solid cover stock it just sees it so if you facing a lot of oil
this is what you need in your hands so yeah man we're going to keep this one very to the point uh i'ma let you guys just kind of see some of these shots um that's all i really have for you so enjoy these shots and as always man hit that like subscribe button and we are pushing uh we got all the new rocks coming uh the attitudes the stealth uh and the diva uh diamond evil so there you have it uh again man like subscribe again appreciate it

Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed that the Hammer Black Widow Black Solid Urethane delivers noticeably smoother downlane motion compared to its pearl counterpart, the Pink Widow Urethane. Independent reviewers observed that the solid urethane coverstock creates stronger oil absorption and earlier friction engagement, making this ball particularly effective when facing higher volumes of lane oil. On the test pattern, the Black Widow exhibited the characteristic heavy rolling motion expected from urethane equipment, with the asymmetric core driving strong angular motion once the ball reads the lane.
The ball demonstrated distinct behavior differences based on oil conditions. Testing on house patterns with standard oil volumes showed the Black Widow performs best for bowlers with high rev rates and strong axis rotation who can generate the ball motion intended by the asymmetric core design. Reviewers noted that playing deeper angles on the lane (left side of the oil pattern for right-handed bowlers) produced over/under results, suggesting the ball is better suited to fresh or shorter oil patterns where friction becomes more defined. When compared directly to the Pearl Widow Urethane, the solid Black version picks up friction earlier and transitions more aggressively, though the Pearl maintained slightly longer skid length down the lane—a meaningful distinction depending on the specific oil conditions encountered.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Black Widow Black Solid Urethane is purpose-built for bowlers who regularly face higher oil volumes and need earlier ball motion. This includes players with naturally high rev rates who want urethane’s unique friction characteristics, as well as bowlers competing on patterns where pearl and reactive resin equipment isn’t generating enough hook. The solid coverstock makes this an excellent specialty piece rather than an everyday carry.
This ball is less ideal for bowlers with moderate rev rates or those primarily bowling on house patterns with standard oil conditions. Urethane equipment requires specific lane environments to shine, and this Black Widow is no exception—it’s best suited to bowlers who understand when to deploy specialty equipment and have the technique to maximize an asymmetric core’s potential.
The Pros
- • Strong urethane motion with asymmetric core benefits
- • Excellent length and predictable motion
- • Great for sport patterns and challenging conditions
The Cons
- • Limited backend recovery compared to reactive balls
- • Requires specific lane conditions to maximize performance

Bowlers Say
Bowlers say this urethane ball offers exceptional hook and control, particularly excelling on sport patterns but often too strong for house shots at stock grit. Two-handers especially praise its smooth, controllable reaction and backend hook, though some find the aggressive coverstock challenging to master initially.

2 handers dream come true . Very smooth very controllable! This ball makes you look like a pro . Short or long patterns there is a spot for this gem in the bag . If you can find one I highly recommend buying it.

I love this ball my first urethane, it very similar to the Black widow Ghost Pearl will hook on the back end and make the turn.

Super strong and high flaring ball! Too much ball for house shots at stock grit! Strictly for sport shots at stock grit. Smooth, early and powerful.

It's an ok ball. I'm not having much luck with urethane. But it's probably me.
