About Hammer

Hammer Bowling has been making bowling balls since the mid-1980s. The brand built its early reputation on aggressive urethane equipment during the urethane era, then carried that aggressive identity straight into the reactive resin era. In 2007, Brunswick Corporation acquired Hammer, folding it into the family alongside Brunswick, DV8, Radical, Ebonite, Columbia 300, and Track — but Hammer kept its own design language and its own dedicated R&D direction. Today, Hammer is arguably the most recognizable performance brand in the Brunswick family.

The signature engineering story Hammer tells is the carbon fiber outer core — a structural reinforcement that, the brand claims, allows the ball to flex less at impact and transfer more energy through the pins. Two-handers, high-rev one-handers, and crankers all gravitate to Hammer because the asymmetric cores match their style — they want the ball to turn the corner hard, and Hammer delivers that. Strokers and tweeners can absolutely throw Hammer (the Effect line and some of the milder Black Widow releases work well), but the brand really shines in the hands of bowlers who can put revs on the ball.
