Performance Analysis
The Hammer Raw Hammer Hybrid Orange Black features the symmetrical Raw Hammer Core paired with Hammer’s Juiced Hybrid Reactive coverstock, creating a bowling ball designed specifically for novice and entry-level bowlers. With an RG of 2.53 and a modest differential of .038, this ball produces a smooth, predictable roll that won’t overwhelm beginners with excessive hook potential. The 2000 grit polished surface allows the ball to get through the front part of the lane cleanly while providing a controlled backend reaction that’s ideal for learning proper release and timing fundamentals.
The hybrid reactive coverstock strikes a nice balance between the length of pearl reactive and the earlier roll of solid reactive materials, making it versatile across dry to medium oil conditions. The 3-4 inch flare potential provides enough track flare to create decent pin action without being too aggressive for developing bowlers. While more advanced players may find the hook potential limiting, this ball excels in its intended role as a stepping stone from plastic spare balls to more aggressive reactive equipment. As a discontinued model, it can often be found at attractive prices on the secondary market, making it an excellent value for budget-conscious bowlers.

I am currently using a Hammer Redemption solid and love it but wanted another Hammer ball that reacts a little different. Great ball and reaction for a symmetrical. Great buy too!!

The Hammer Raw Hybrid is a ball that I found to be smooth and controllable from front to back. On a fresh house shot, this hybrid was still to clean. Hit the surface lightly with a 2000 pad and the ball read earlier and created better continuation through the pins. The Raw Hybrid by Hammer can be found in the new, lower mid performance line up along with a solid and pearl versions. Truly, a lot of ball for the price. Nothing hits like a Hammer!!
I picked up this orange and grey hammer with the hybrid coverstock. Threw it down some dry-light oil lanes and it hooks great. Has a nice arc and picks up on the backend perfectly to hit that 1-3 pocket. Where I bowl league, the lanes are heavy oil, so I wasnt getting much reaction with the stock cover. I took a 1k grit pad to it, and the shots were perfect. Nice consistant arc with a strong reaction to the pocket with some great pin action . i love when the pins explode!. You shouldn't be disappointed rolling one of these hammers. Great price for a great ball!
