Performance Analysis
The Hammer 3D Offset Assault combines the proven Hammer High Rev Offset Core with the HK22 Cohesion Hybrid Reactive coverstock to create a ball designed for serious oil conditions. The asymmetric core design, with its .053 differential and .008 mass bias, generates significant flare potential of 4-5 inches, translating to strong angular motion through the pins. The 2.48 RG provides a balanced roll that stores energy well for the backend reaction.
The hybrid reactive coverstock strikes a nice balance between the earlier roll of solid reactive and the length of pearl reactive formulations. At 2000 grit out of box, this ball is ready to tackle medium-heavy oil without being overly aggressive for most conditions. The combination creates a ball that reads the midlane appropriately while saving its strongest move for the backend, making it particularly effective for bowlers who prefer angular entry angles. While the Assault excels in its intended medium-heavy oil environment, bowlers may need to adjust surface preparation or consider other options when oil patterns become lighter or when seeking a more controlled, arcing ball reaction.
Who Is This Ball For?

Bowlers frequently mention:
The Hammer 3-D Offset Assault is the latest and greatest in the 3-D Offset line delivering strength, versatility and hitting power. This ball is great on medium and heavier oil patterns. I find it comparable to the Effect Tour, in that it is the next ball to follow with after the Effect Tour is too much. Everyone will have a spot in their arsenal for this beauty. Well done Hammer!!!!
January 16, 2025 was the release day for the new Hammer 3D Offset Assault, the 3rd in the line of the 3D Offset Hammers. The new Assault features the same High Rev Offset asymmetric core found in prior 3D Offsets wrapped by a bright red HK-22 cohesion hybrid cover. Box finish is 2000 Siaair. I've tried the Assault on fresh and leftover THS. The layout on the ball I used was 50 x 4 1/2 x 25. To my eye, like prior 3D Offset releases, the motion with the Assault is earlier and forward off the spot. I think that with this cover/surface overall the Assault covers more boards than the prior ones. That being said, the motion to my eye is definitely rolly and forward off the spot. In testing the new Assault, I had to use a considerable amount of rotation to get the ball to respond properly as our house shot has lighter volume and longer distance. From all that I can see, the Assault is definitely a ball for the fresh on higher volumes of oil. I also think the Assault will excel on medium to shorter distance patterns. As noted above, the Hammer 3D Offset Assault is available.. See your local pro shop for more information!
Drilled it just like the Arctic Vibe. This ball is horribly finicky and you have to be 1 board accurate compared to the ArcVibe which has several boards of miss room and finds its way back on same pairs, same nights, same line. Threw my worst series in a long time (481) throwing this ball all 3 games trying to figure it out. Second night, 505 series... I avg in both leagues 621... The ArcVibe I pulled out for a 667 the last league night.
OK, United States
Easily the worst ball I have ever thrown on a fresh house shot (lefty). Got it drilled today same as my Arctic Vibe and this ball has no miss room whether it be by a board or .25mph. The Vibe was so much better through midlane on a 27mil house shot. Bowlersmart would not let me rate this below 2 stars without a bunch of politics...I give this 2 stars
I was very impressed with this ball. I drilled mine 75x5x20. For me it roll a little early and still continuous on the back. Compared to the Envy tour it’s going to be a little early and more total hook.
