Now we in business. >> Got no regrets. I'm on the run. Chasing the check. Dropping the top. Riding the vet. What you expect? You know I'm with it. No better feeling cuz I could have quit but I didn't. When I'm on a mission moving it up to a better position. They thought I was tripping. >> What's going on YouTube world? Charles Hudge here. Full effect. I thought they would let this light go, but clearly not right. People are still buying enough effects to for no warrant keep making them. Uh same layout 60x 4
and a 60x 5 by 30. Sorry, just my pinup mass bias logo right there. These big strong ticker bowling balls, right? Like I typically can still leave them that way. Uh but yeah, this is a hybrid. You know, I was definitely assuming, right? We already had the maximum effect, which was a hybrid, but you know, it's shiny, so maybe it's close to the original, but we got the Zero Mercy Pro here. I'll check that out. I know a lot of people again are curious about that. Then in the following video, right, we'll get the Ion Max Pro because I know you
really want to see that. And then we'll probably go to the uh the sport shot as well, so you guys can see that how them balls line up. Um, but yeah, probably just house shot for this one. Then Ion Max will be on the sport shot. I like to again mix things up. Um so yeah, that's going to be the video. Hit like, subscribe. I appreciate you guys always, man. And uh overthinking all nothing. So yeah, man. Get the cool 12 bagger, all the other merchandise um is on there, right? Jerseys, you got some teams coming up. Nationals is right
around the corner, man. Go ahead, get that going. And um yeah, man. Jo, best time on the market. And yeah, that's about it. Bolero, Tamarack, my mans. My guys over here, Bol's Edge Pro Shop, take care of me. Take care of you guys as well. Let's see what the hype's about. Camera full effect again. House shot. First shot. First shot.
So, I'm standing pretty much big dot, but I'mma walk a little bit to the left. That's typically what I do. I drift about about four or five boards. Actually looks pretty similar, you know, to the Ionax, which again got pretty forward. Um, it still had plenty of like getting down lane motion, right? But it was more of a I had to make sure to get around it. Like some balls are just like angular, right? Are going to stand up
and go left. This one like kind of stood up and went tumbled. Again, I haven't thrown my best shots yet. So, but my first that's some initial, you know, idea here, but that's that's two that's two in a row. So, I'm not mad. Oh, that's stupid. That shouldn't work that way. Again, getting lucky right now, guys. We
counting all of these, too. Like, this is, you know, we getting warmed up, but we we still striking. So, probably the best part is going to be like once again, I'm actually throwing the ball. Well, so far so good. Oh, that's going to overhook though. Okay. Okay. That's reasonable. That's reasonable. That's reasonable.
Hook. Okay. Again, not mad at it. Definitely. Again, the more I'm catching it, the more I expected to, you know, see it and go left. So, let's see if we can continue this. All right. I'm going move a little left now. getting closer to like 25 normal. Ah, okay. So, it might be a little smoother. Yeah, I'm feeling better, right? Not perfect,
but maybe I scoot a little bit back there. Maybe jump a little too far to the left. So, I think once we go to the uh Zer Pearl, I'm thinking the Zer Pearl is going to be more down L like this. They both laid out exactly the same. So, this the the vibe I'm getting so far. This feels rounder, a little earlier.
Haven't done anything to the to the cover at all. Like, it's still fresh out of the box compound. Oh. You tripping fours. Tripping fours, son. So, of course, that one didn't nearly get as far to the right, you know, but still went high. So, yeah. You know, we got to see. We got to see. Still got my little citrus. So, still got that cohesion.
Oh, I caught all the way around it. Yeah, that was that was the most got here and Oh, all bad. All back. All bad. All back. Ah, it was close. It was close. I thought about it. I thought it was going to be good. All right, I do have an over now. Now we got to go sheet. Got to go sheet now. Come on. Come on. Full effect. Let me not throw it bad.
Oh, that's going to be forward. So, yes, smoother shape, right? It definitely feels like it's more in line with Ion Max, right? Definitely just giving me a if I get crazy around it, yes, it'll go left. But my natural release, which is typically still a little forward, like it's playing more into that. So it makes me feel like even with IMAX, make sure I circle it when I'm trying to open a lane up to make
sure it sees it and goes left. So we can get getting the corner pins out like that hook. But even that like didn't even feel like, oh my god, I'm worried about it running off the lane. Like that just rolled. early predictions, the tour guys are probably going to be okay with this one because it's not as like uncontrollable as the Zero Mercy Pearl and it's going to again offer just a more readable shake.
Oh yeah, again slow. Not really the ball's fall, right? I like cheated a little bit right and left it right in the track. Didn't get to that kind of out of bounds to the right. It just all bad. All bad. All bad. Definitely I feel like probably need a little transition for this ball. >> Oh, that's in the pit. Oh, yeah. I threw it dead in there. >> Too much backup. Too much backup. Stay on 25.
So most of my tracks have been like that. Like I hasn't had too many high flush ones. And that's kind of just telling me right like give it a little transition. Like once the ball trans once the lanes transition, this ball is probably going to be a little more useful. Um cuz right now definitely it's like Yeah, it's it's strong early, but definitely I feel like I want to make it I would scuff it and then it'll match up better. But you know that's Yeah. Yeah. It's all I can really say.
I've just the most randomest of things. Like it's been very random. Like All right. So I'm going to jump around the lane now because I tried a bunch of stuff. I mean, I've tried to kind of execute, but I think it's just not the best time and place for it. But, um, let's see. Let's see. I feel like I need to be left because it kind of feels early. That should be good.
But it's kind of again, if I move left, the polish or compound is is enough that it's pushing it down the lane a little bit, but it's getting into a roll, but it's not like flipping. So, yeah. And yeah, it's just it's a little too responsive to play like, you know, like don't miss it to the right like cuz if I keep it in, it definitely seems like it's taking off. But yeah, nothing crazy. Like a 180 or something. Yeah, 180. So, we go zero mercy curl just to again
get a clue. Stay on 25 higher RG in that one where again we 247 RG uh in the zero uh the full effect where the zero mercy has 252. So, it just, man, I ain't going to lie, that ball has just been working here lately.
Oh, there she goes. So, again, just staying in there, kind of trying to trap it. Don't try I feel like not trying to do a whole lot of like trying to get around it cuz it's going to pick up. But if I try to go around it, it's going to either jack knife. It comes a little over under. I should I should say. Oh, I got did around that one. But that one is clean enough like that. Again, I feel I got a little more forgiveness with this ball. Um in
relation to the the effect, which yeah, it's just more of a thing. I wouldn't say it's good or bad, right? I just feel like this the lane needs more transition. Then this ball is going to look a little better. I'mma move all the way right because I want you guys to get a little bit of a clue. That was 10 back. That That was That was 10 back right there. That might be the best look like just trying to do that. It could very well could. See if we can
repeat that shot. Oh, hook a lock. Oh, I thought I was going to carry it. No luck. Let's try it again. Hook a little bit. I lift it twice. Try to make sure I get off my hand pretty clean, but jeez.
So definitely is a because of the compound, I feel like it's not reading how I would like it to. Personally, because of how strong it is and how much it wants to kind of roll, like I would hit it with surface, let it match up a little bit better. I think that's what it's it's going to just do better. Um, and once we move to this work, I probably scuff it a little bit like both the Ionax and the full effect, scuffing them slightly with a 2000 pad. um just so they again read a little bit
better on a score pattern. But um yeah, that's what I would do. I'm going throw the zero mercy from here as well. It's just easy without like again I think with the hierarchy and the layout and the finish, it matches up better versus pro, right? It's just just what it is cuz it it has um compound on it as well. Zero mercy.
There we go. Straighter is greater. Uh having shallower angles, you know, I'm still having a little loop to it. That's just me. But, you know, not being super far left. I don't feel like it was on a house at least, right? Cuz if you bowl on a higher volume house shot, you probably can do more stuff. and you're probably going to see a bunch of other reviewers. They may have a different experience. So, watch all the other guys and gals uh who review the equipment because for me it's been okay. Um I wouldn't say it's anything like oh my goodness
like I thought it was going to be. I thought it going to be a little bit more than what I'm seeing. Yeah. like they got tripped forward a gajillion times today. So yeah, um again might look better on the sport. So I'm not going to completely shut off or try to be closed off to the ball. I think again some of this compound comes off is probably going to match up a lot better. So stay tuned for that second video. So again, trying not to go crazy around the
bowling ball, trying to be a little more, you know, front to back. say front to back. It kind of kind of what it means. Not know left to right mean left to right going throwing out but more here and focused on you know more speed less speed. >> Now we in business. Now we're in business.
So again, if you thought this your Mercy was too clean, the the new full effect, right? It's definitely going to be an earlier ball reaction. Yeah, it's just that one is cleaner 100%. Like that one gets down the lane so much easier in relation to getting it full effect. go by 25.
So again, I more or less stay aggressive like throw it like really like kind of throw this one, you know, like be on the quicker side. Like I'm a lot closer to like 16 mph right now. Um just again letting it go, you know, at 16 mph down a lane. Think we're definitely opening the pattern up. Oh, hook.
How many freaking trip? This is the trip 14 right here, bro. Like I tripped so many today. Like that is that's ridiculous. So that's the video guys, man. Let's get to Iron Max Pro. Hope you guys enjoyed this, man. And lot of lot of ball review on keep it moving. Put the music up. I'mma keep them groove. You sleeping on me, just keep snoozing. I'm so locked in right
Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Independent reviewers encountered notable performance variations with the Hammer Full Effect depending on surface preparation. Initial testing with the factory compound finish (5,000 grit) revealed underwhelming hook and length, with the ball failing to generate expected backend reaction on medium-heavy oil patterns. However, after removing the factory compound and sanding to 4,700 grit, the ball demonstrated significantly improved mid-lane read and substantially more aggressive backend movement. The asymmetric Huntsman core with the HK22 C² hybrid reactive coverstock showed its true capabilities only after surface adjustment, suggesting that the factory finish may mask the ball’s inherent motion characteristics. This dramatic difference—from a ball that struggled to hook to one with pronounced mid-lane pickup and strong angular recovery—underscores the importance of surface customization for maximizing this piece’s potential.
Testing revealed that the Full Effect excels when given a fresh surface, particularly when the smooth factory compound is removed. On the test pattern, the ball displayed strong mid-lane motion combined with predictable, controlled backend reaction after the surface adjustment. Reviewers noted that the ball provided room for error and allowed bowlers to make meaningful adjustments in their approach. The improvement in ball motion after sanding suggests this is a coverstock that benefits from a more aggressive surface rather than the as-released finish, making it a ball that may require immediate pro shop work to deliver on its promise.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Hammer Full Effect is best suited for bowlers who are comfortable with surface adjustments and aren’t looking for immediate out-of-the-box performance. If you plan to take this ball straight from the box and throw it on medium to medium-heavy oil without any modification, you may be disappointed. However, if you’re willing to work with a pro shop to remove the factory compound and adjust the surface to around 4,700 grit, you’ll find a ball with solid mid-lane strength and responsive backend reaction that can handle fresh oil conditions effectively.
This ball makes sense for bowlers seeking a medium-heavy oil option who understand that modern reactive hybrid equipment often performs better with customized surfaces. It’s not an ideal choice for bowlers who prefer minimal surface maintenance or expect peak performance from a freshly drilled ball. However, for those who embrace surface preparation as part of their equipment strategy, the Full Effect offers good value at $194.95 once properly prepped, delivering angular motion and predictability that justifies the additional work upfront.

Bowled my first 225 game after my second time using this ball. It’s definitely a game changer: I love it.
MS, United States
Here is my take on the new Hammer Full Effect. The Full Effect is the 4th Hammer release in the Effect line. The Full Effect features the asymmetric Huntsman core (low RG/higher diff) wrapped by a purple/pink/silver/black HK-22 C2 hybrid cover, the same coverstock technology used on the Zero Mercy series of bowling balls. Box surface is Factory Compound over 1500 Siaair. The layout used in mine is 30 x 6 x 70 and I have tried this on fresh and leftover THS. Hammer's goal was to release a ball that was a touch earlier than a Zero Mercy Pearl but yet be very continuous in its motion. I actually wanted to do an experiment with this ball. Since 2021, I've been working with stronger pin placements to create more flare, be a little slower in its response and see more motion through all parts of the lane as opposed to being more in the back. Previously, I had been using lots of 5 1/2 - 6 inch pin to PAP layouts. Overall, the results have been really good. But, I wanted to try and take a very strong ball and totally mellow it out. Looking at the numbers and the core/cover match, I figured this might be a good ball to use for a little experiment. I also hit this ball with a worn 1500 Siaair pad again to again try and slow the response time down a bit and make the motion earlier and smoother. I was absolutely thrilled with what I saw. The first 6-7 shots out of the box were all strikes. It showed the earlier more rounded motion that I wanted to achieve. I'll be very interested in trying this on fresh THS as well as various sport patterns and to see how this ball/layout/surface combination follows transition. I think this will be a good ball for many different styles of bowlers. While this ball was an experiment, I will be drilling another and I will figure out the environments in which it will be at its best. My gut tells me medium to higher volume patterns will be where this ball will be in play but again I want to drill another and interrelate it with the Zero Mercy series and a Maximum Effect. The Hammer Full Effect is readily available. See your local pro shop for more information!
I love this ball it really moves good on some oily lanes I have came across.
