Performance Analysis
The Radical Rattler NU features the Radical Rattler Symmetric Core paired with a urethane coverstock finished at 1000 grit, creating a ball designed for controlled, predictable motion on dry to medium oil lanes. With an RG of 2.48 and differential of .035, this symmetric design promotes excellent length through the front part of the lane with a smooth, arcing backend motion rather than aggressive angular movement. The urethane coverstock provides the trademark urethane characteristics of predictability and versatility, making it particularly effective for spare shooting and situations where you need to control the pocket angle. The 1000 grit surface allows the ball to read the lane smoothly without being overly aggressive, making it suitable for a wide range of rev rates and delivery styles. While the hook potential is naturally limited compared to reactive resin options, the Rattler NU excels in providing consistent, repeatable ball reaction that many bowlers prefer for challenging spare conversions and when lane conditions call for a more controlled approach.

Bowlers frequently mention:
I drilled mine 30 X 4 X 45. The Radical Rattler was one of my favorite benchmark balls of all time, so I was extremely excited to hear about this release which utilizes the original Rattler core. Plus this is the second ball ever that is Not Urethane (NU). This is the perfect piece if you are looking for a ball that is very smooth and controllable.
So surprised! I expected this to be much like the Hammer NU but boy was I wrong. It has the same control that the Hammer NU but it is MUCH stronger. It has been awhile since I got this much control with this much curve. Not to be missed. Get one soon to start the season!
I was on the fence when I first got this ball but the more I throw it the more I really love how much control I have with it. Also a great spare ball too
I drilled the Radical Rattler NU 4" x 25 to mimic my favorite layout I use on all my urethane bowling balls. I did this to have the Rattler NU as a perfect compliment when the urethanes start to hook too early, or when the lane pattern dictates that I need a cleaner motion with a more defined backend reaction. The Rattler NU, with the proven Rattler symmetric core and innovative NU coverstock, provide me with length, power, and most importantly, control. The Rattler NU will not be the biggest hooking ball in your bag, but will most likely be the most reliable ball reaction you will find shot after shot. The .035 diff and 2.480 rg are a perfect combo for medium oil patterns. I have had great success with the Rattler NU on both the Stone Street and PBA Viper oil patterns. The NU Rattler is a very unique piece! It is a little stronger than the NU Blue overall, but it also gives an option for a ball that lets you keep your angles in front of you. I use it pretty frequently when encountering over/under conditions, and I need something the is cleaner and more continuous than urethane, but only by a small margin.
