Performance Analysis

Performance Analysis

The Storm DNA Coil represents Storm’s commitment to creating balls that dominate heavy oil conditions. The asymmetric Supercoil core, with its substantial .053 differential and .023 mass bias, generates impressive flare potential of 5-6 inches, creating the rev-dominant motion that serious bowlers crave. The 2.47 RG provides a balanced feel that allows the ball to get through the heads cleanly before unleashing its energy on the backend. The EXO Pearl Reactive coverstock is the perfect complement to this powerful core, offering the length needed to navigate heavy oil while maintaining enough traction to create a strong move at the breakpoint. The Storm Reacta Gloss factory finish enhances the pearl coverstock’s natural length characteristics while preserving backend reaction. This combination makes the DNA Coil particularly effective for bowlers who play from deeper angles and need a ball that can handle volume while still providing the continuation necessary for consistent pin action. The ball’s scented orange pineapple slush adds a unique sensory element that Storm fans have come to appreciate, making each shot as enjoyable off the lane as it is effective on it.

DNA Coil Ball Review Layout VLS-5x4x2.5 Dual Angle-50x5x37 Surface-Reacta Gloss Storm DNA Coil will fit into the storm lineup perfectly. Storm DNA coil features the same core from the orginal DNA but with the Exo pearl coverstock. The DNA coil will rev up nicely in the midlane but with a smooth flip on the backend. Its not too angular on the backend and it will be a good option on those over/under lane conditions. It will pit perfectly between the absolute power and the virtual energy blackout. If you feel like you need some shape on the backend and your vitual energy blackout is too angular the coil will be a great option. Attached below is my link to my ball video. The DNA Coil still uses the fast revving Supercoil core but provides more length to create a dynamic motion further down-lane. I tested the DNA Coil on the long heavy house pattern at my home center. I first tried it in league in the 3rd game to see if it was going to be better when the down-lane friction had developed. I noticed immediately that the early friction on our lane panels caused the ball to want to tip up too soon. The Coil is so responsive that it wanted to get forward a little too quickly with my lower ball speed. I decided to see what the DNA Coil looked like on fresh oil a few days later and that's when I really got an idea of how strong the reaction could be.. I tested it by first throwing it up the oil line with less rotation. I was very surprised at how well it handled the length of the pattern. I opened the angles a bit as I bowled to see how far I could push it right. Without having to add much rotation the ball kept climbing off the spot down-lane, no easy feat on 30 mils of oil and a 43 ft pattern but it responded beautifully. I think the ball will best suit people who are very rev challenged or speed dominant. With my ball speed I would reserve my personal use for longer patterns where I need the dynamic move in a small window. Storm DNA Coil Layout: 5 x 4 x 2 Storm Pin Buffer Layout Rev Rate: 325 rpm, 7 degree of axis tilt, 40 degree of axis rotation Testing information: 41 foot THS (medium to light volume) Bowling Center: Fulton Bowling Center IKON Kegel Machine – Brunswick Anvilane The Storm DNA Coil utilizes the EXO Pearl Reactive cover along with the Supercoil Core. The scent is Orange Pineapple Sush. We tested alongside the Storm Virtual Energy Blackout. The DNA Coil was a touch earlier than VEBO but a touch weaker overall. We see the DNA Coil as your step down from your strong ball such as the Storm DNA. I think you may want to consider a surface change to the DNA Coil. Try it at box finish then change accordingly.
