Electrify Pearl Introducing Storm’s new low end pearl, the Electrify Pearl. The Electrify Pearl has the new Circuit Core wrapped with the Reactor Pearl Coverstock. With a RG of 2.51 and a differential of .030, this ball is a great piece for when you need a ball that is very clean and angular downlane. The Hustles have returned although this time with new covers. We have the Hustle PBR (Solid) and Hustle RAP (Pearl). The PBR is a ball I am particularly looking forward to throwing. We’ve seen on some of the recent PBA telecasts Simonson and Prather make this ball look really good. The PBR is going to be an excellent choice for those lighter oil conditions or when the backends are super crisp and you need the ball to back off a bit with lower differential. The PBR will allow you to play closer to the friction without it over reacting. The RAP Hustle will be a step down ball from the PBR Solid when the lanes transition and you need a cleaner cover to clear the fronts. Similar to the Solid, due to the lower differential, we will see plenty of control down lane. The RAP Hustle will, also, be an option for those longer blocks when you begin getting to games 6 and on.

Storm Electrify Pearl Layout – 55 x 5 x 25 I drilled both Electrify balls with the same layout and tried to differentiate them using surface. I had the Electrify Pearl a couple of boards weaker with more length. Both balls are super clean through the front of the lane with plenty of back end continuation! My expectation is to use this ball late in blocks as the “weakest’’ ball I plan to carry. Right now my HyRoad Pearl is my weakest and sometimes that ball is too round in shape and I need some more “flip” down lane. The Electrify Pearl gives me exactly that! The Electrify Pearl has great shelf appeal. The Pink, Light Blue, Fuchsia swirl looks great on the wall and going down the lane. The Electrifys feature the new Circuit Core and Storm's benchmark entry level cover: Reactor. The biggest change from the Match Up line is that the Circuit Core is a lower RG lower diff core. This makes the balls very controllable. The pearl cover really makes this ball something different in terms of getting the ball downlane and then taking advantage of the smooth motion. It reminds me of the Roto Grip Scream with just a bit more hook and hit. I tested it first on a fresh house shot for league in a house with ample friction. I was amazed at how easy it felt to get the ball downlane and not have it over-react. I had trouble getting some balls to slow down so that my misses tended to be splits and washouts. With focusing on simply rolling the Electrify Pearl to the right it felt like i had incredible hold and just enough get back to really open up the area around the track right away. With small hand position changes I played through the transition well. I didn't really see a need to change balls until the transition (which is considerable on this surface) Forced me inside of 4th arrow. I see this ball being really helpful on lower volume/medium length oil patterns and in houses with alot of surface friction.

After drilling the Electrify hybrid and really liking the way it rolled, I had a good feeling about the Electrify pearl too. Knowing the RG is 2.51 and the differential is .030, I knew I had to drill this ball relatively strong to make sure it flared enough when I wanted to use it. I drilled it the same way as the Electrify hybrid (5 x 4). This puts the pin above my bridge with a small shift of the CG. I also knocked the shine off with a 3000 pad just to smooth-up the response time a bit. I’ve seen the Electrify pearl have the most success when the lanes have gone through transition and the pattern has blended out. I can see players with a lower rev-rate using the Electrify pearl when their Omega Crux or UFO is too strong. I can also see the higher rev-rate players use it when we need to create some angle through the front and a quick response time down lane. If you need a ball for friction and at a great price point, the Electrify pearl should be a candidate you should consider! #StormNation

From the first time I threw the Electrify Pearl, I liked how this ball went through the pins. For being a weaker ball, it provides great continuation through the pins. This ball is stronger than the Tropical Surge, and will give you more hook overall. I am still using this ball later in tournaments when the lanes break down quite significantly, but I know that I’m not losing any power while doing so. I am comfortable moving left with this ball when the friction to the right is defined. I also really like this ball while bowling on house shots. Typically there is a lot of hook to the right so this ball is good for clearing the fronts and still giving you the backend reaction you need. Layout 75x5x25 rev rate 275 ball speed 14 mph PAP 4 ½ right and 1 up Compared to my IQ Tour Emerald, which is, actually drilled the same way I am an arrow further right and about 2 or 3 boards further right at the break point. I like to use this ball at 4k no polish for my slower ball speed. The Electrify pearl is my go to for the 3rd game transition in league or late in our tournament blocks on the burn!

These two Storm Electrify’s are the reason why you should not sleep on the lower end balls. I was shocked when I seen these two balls on the lane in action. I compared both of them to each other the Pearl I found myself really comfortable with it right off the hop. On lower volume or burn its going to be a great ball to get through the front part of the lane. The hybrid was a lot more round for me so started up earlier then the Pearl for sure. I started out with the Pearl and had to move about 3 right to get lined up with the hybrid. The Pearl really comes off the spot nice but not to quick where you can’t predict what it’s going to do. Love that the Pearl gets down the lane easy, will help when I get in trouble with some of my more aggressive equipment. The hybrid is going to be good when the lanes get tricky and can use the slow roll to control the pattern.

Storm -Electrify Pearl - 35 x 3 1/2 x 30 - 1500 grit polished - Reactor Pearl cover with the new Circuit core. Test lane condition: Broadwalk and USBC White I drilled it to be used on shorter patterns and for a center I sub at that has HPL on the heads and great looking wood in the backends. I found that this layout and ball selection was great on Boardwalk and the shorter White pattern. Was able to play up the gutter and in the dirt and the ball did not hook up early like I expected it to with such a short front number. This brought me back some good memories seeing this ball react very similar to one of my old favorites - the Horizon from Roto Grip. If you are looking for that ball that helps you on shorter patterns or on wood lanes this will be a great ball to add to your weekly league bag.

Drilled my ELECTRIFY PEARL up 50 x 4 x 30. Left it box finish to get a feel for it. 4' pin positions for me are usually very early starters for my game which is on the straighter side of tweener. Right away I noticed the length. Being a weaker cover than Storm's big hitters made it get length without having to throw harder or force it downlane. The ELECTRIFY PEARL should be good for dead burn or getting outside of a league shot with a defined dry area to the right/left of target. I put it side by with a couple of other balls like the ASTRO PHYSIX & MVP PEARL. ASTRO as figured was a lot more motion downlane. MVP PEARL was also more motion but later downlane then the ASTRO. The ELECTRIFY PEARL looked like a step down when the MVP PEARL is getting up to the pocket too early.

Hey everyone, Storm staff member Brian Hirsch here with another ball review, and this time it's for the Storm Electrify Pearl. The Electrify Pearl in 15 pounds has an RG of 2.51 and a Diff of 0.030. The first thing that impressed me with this ball and now has heard it many times is how online or clean it is for a ball to be used on higher friction or later in the block. Most "dry lane" balls startup too soon and are still boomy and or uncontrollable down the lane and will not go through the pins the right way. Not what I am seeing with the Electrify Pearl. This ball does hold energy and hits the pins with some power instead of being DOA. This ball is one to keep in the bag if you are bowling league and need something to finish off the night and not give away the pocket to much. Tournament players know we need a ball that will stay on line even later in blocks when we do not have a voodoo roll or lofting the caps in our game. What a good looking ball! Love the colors and the reaction is perfect if your looking for a ball when the lanes get burned up or just light oil. I drilled min 60 x 3 3/4” x 25 which is my strong drilling. I have a high track with a pap of 5 7/8” x 1” up. Being a higher RG ball and low diff, this ball makes the turn nicely. Even when the front part of the lane is dry, the ball still clears the heads for me and leaves lots of energy for the back. This is similar in RG and Diff as the IQ Emerald except the cover isn’t as strong but gives me a similar shape. I also found if I have to get left I still get the recovery I need. When my Hyroad pearl is still too much as I have to get left, I can move a bit right and throw the Electrify Pearl. Don’t understand estimate this ball as It is one for everyone to have in there bag. The Electrify pearl is going to be that ball for when the lanes get a little too burned up in the fronts and you need it to clear the heads. This ball will get through the fronts with an electric snap off the spot. For the price point of this ball you won't want to miss out what this ball has to offer. Storm Electrify Pearl Reactor Hybrid Cover stock 1500 Grit Polished Circuit Core The Storm Electrify Pearl and Electrify Hybrid were introduced to take the place of the Match Up series in the Storm Lineup. The Electrify Pearl skids through the heads with ease saving energy to make a quick turn once is gets to the dry. The Electrify Hybrid starts up just a couple feet earlier than the pearl and has a stronger, smoother motion. Either can find a spot in a bowler's house shot league bag or be very useful for your dry tournament conditions. I would slot the Electrify Pearl as a step stronger than my Hustle RAP and a step down from my HyRoad Pearl. I think the Electrify Hybrid would be a good fit when my phaze 2 is a little more than needed.

Layout: 35 x 4 1/8" x 65 I did something a little different with my Electrify Pearl - I went with a stronger pin than I usually use, and drilled it pin down, which I rarely do anymore. I then hit it with a fresh 3000 pad. My intent was to end up with something that was smooth and controllable, but still went through the pins well - and that is exactly what I got. Drilling it pin down makes it much more usable when straighter angles are better utilized, which still retaining plenty of energy for good pin carry. It is perfect for medium oil conditions. To compliment my Electrify pearl, I drilled my Electrify Hybrid pin up, to maintain backend reaction. Due to the ball being hybrid instead of pearl, however, it maintains controllability as well. I can switch to the Hybrid when I need slightly more overall motion.

The Storm Electrify Pearl review by Brian Watson. I needed a weaker ball for the late shift or late blocks in tournaments. So I drilled a Electrify Pearl pin down with 4 1/2 pin. As I felt like I needed something below the RG hustle series (great balls by the way) and above the Tropical Storms. With the RG being high 2.51 and Differential of .030 this was a perfect fit in the ball reaction that I was looking for. The Electrify Pearl gave me the length that I was looking for but still has enough pop on the back to give me good motion through the pins. Perfect fit in my arsenal. The Electrify Pearl (EP) has a rg of 2.51 and .030 diff, so by nature the ball wants to go long down lane. For my game I had to drill this ball pretty strong just to assure it didn’t go too long. I also hit the cover with a 4000grit pad to take a little bit of the shine off. Even with my drilling (4x4) and taking a little of the shine off, the EP was still plenty strong down lane. I didn’t think it would be as fast response as it was which was a pleasant surprise. I can see a lot of bowlers liking the EP on house shots where you need to get in and throw it out.

The new Electrify Pearl looks great on the ball return and rolls even better! It takes the familar Reactor Pearl coverstock that we've seen in many Hot and Tropical line releases and combines that with the new Circuit (2.51 RG, 0.030 differential) symmetrical core. What you get from this is a ball that gets down the lane very easily, but provides a very predictable motion and strong roll through the pins while still being punchy off of frictino. Entry-level price but a ball that's both great for newer bowlers AND has a lot of utility for tournament situations when there's a lot of available friction... can't beat that!

The Electrify pearl is the latest release from Storm in the Hot line of bowling balls. The Hot line from Storm has been a staple of the industry, offering bowlers bowling balls with very good performance, on a budget. The Pearl Electrify comes from the factory with a 1500 grit finish, and uses the all new Circuit Core which has an Rg of 2.51 and diff of 0.030 in 15lb weights. The color combination of sky/amethyst/fuschia is sure to get noticed on the ball return. The pearl Electrify also has a scent of frosted cake. I drilled the pearl Electrify with a 5” pin and 4.5” pin buffer. I went with this layout to give me plenty of length with a long transition phase of backend motion. When comparing the pearl to my 4 X 3 hybrid version, the pearl has the flare rings much closer together, and goes longer before making its motion into the hook phase. The Pearl Electrify rolls really well when bumping the dry boards of a house shot. With this layout and the 1500 grit factory finish, the Pearl is best suited for medium low to lower volumes of oil. The Electrify pearl will also be good for those long format tournaments that have right handers getting super deep, and I need a ball that will float through their dry heads but still have some recovery at the backend of the lane. The Electrify pearl is a bit more snappy on the backend than the hybrid version. This ball is best when playing the dry boards. The Electrify pearl is a brightly colored ball that will get used at the right time, and on the right conditions. It won’t be the first ball out of the bag for me because I don’t see true dry lanes all that often, but will be very good when the time is right to use it. Using a medium to stronger layout on the Electrify pearl will give bowlers on a budget a nice looking ball, with good change of direction. The Electrify Pearl is a perfect step down for me from my Hyroad pearl. When the Hyroad is a little to strong on the backend I'm able to go to it and it gives me a little cleaner threw the front with a slightly less reaction on the backend. Perfect step down to handle the burnt up conditions.

Still getting used to it since it’s a little different than my old ball. It’s been a couple of weeks.

I love my new ball! I definitely needed it in order to learn how to throw a better hook.
