Ball doesn’t do what I expect overlooks to the gutter not a good ball

The Summit is Storm's strongest symmetrical ball to date. With a new coverstock featuring a variation of the cover we saw on the Phaze 2 it was a no brainer to compare these balls against each other.
The Summit distinctly picked up sooner than the Phaze 2 where the latter was on the cleaner more continuous side. I played about 2-3 boards further left with the Summit over the Phaze. The Summit will be able to handle more oil and allow you to play more left to right versus the Phaze.
I can see both these balls playing well off eachother based off what the lanes are giving you. I can see being in a Summit and needing to go to something weaker like the Phaze 2 or being in the Phaze 2 and needing to migrate let and ball up to a Summit.
There is room for both these balls in your bag. The Summit, like the Phaze, will suit all styles of players from strokers to higher rev players and be able to be utilized on a wide array of playing conditions from recreational to sport.

The new powerhouse symmetric ball from Storm Bowling is the SUMMIT. The Summit uses a modified Centripetal core wrapped in the new AI outer core. This low RG core really gets the ball rolling in the mid-lane. They paired this core with a modified version of the cover featured on the Phaze II. This new formulation called TX-23 Hybrid gives you great mid-lane dig and a nice big foot-print down-lane. The result as you may expect is a Phaze-II for more oil, for earlier in blocks.
I tested the summit on the house pattern at my home center. I didn't have a lot of expectation because of the crazy amount of early friction in our home center during the summer months. I fully expected a ball as strong as the summit to lock-up and look really flat through the pins. I was pleasantly surprised that although I was forced much further left than I like to be game one, the ball did keep coming around. It certainly helped control the back-end of the lane and I had to keep my angle pretty sharp through the front to get it right but it did go through the pins pretty well. I guess with smooth continuation being such a hallmark of the phaze II motion it isn't as surprising as it could be.
This ball is going to be a great first ball out on heavier patterns. It should provide a seam-less transition into the Phaze II as those wet patterns begin to break down. It should look especially good for speed dominant bowlers who need the ball to see the mid-lane but don't necessarily need the all at once motion that you get from some of the bigger assym balls.

Review:
The Storm Summit is the newest ball in the Storm Master line. The Summit features the TX-23 hybrid cover and Centripetal HD-A.I. core. This Core and cover create a ball that will go through the fronts but creates a nice mid lane read. The updated Centripetal HD core added a feature called Amplified Inertia that helps lower the RG and Raise the diff. Core numbers are the same from 14-16 pounds due to this new core design. This ball reminds me of the Axiom that was released from a couple of years ago. My experience with this ball is that the ball was easy through the fronts but created a heavier mid lane read but a strong motion downlane. Comparing it to the Phaze II this ball will go a couple of feet longer and have a stronger faster motion downlane. Get yours June 23rd at your local Storm VIP pro shop.

I am so pleased with the Summit so far. This is the ball I have been looking for to replace my Phaze II. This ball starts up in the mid lane and still drives through the pins. This is a great game one ball for a higher rev player on house shots. The ball does seem to lane shine up quickly so you might need to tweak the surface every few sets to maintain the reaction your looking for.

What are the most iconic Storm balls of all time? The first two spots are locked up: Phaze 2 and IQ Tour Solid. Summit is the meeting of these two legends. Featuring a refreshed hybrid version of the Phaze 2 coverstock and a high performance version of Centripetal core from the IQ, Summit does it all. While the cover allows the ball to store energy and blend out the friction, the core creates torque and a ton of overall flare/hook. Summit is the perfect ball to fit the gap between the Phaze 2 and your favorite solid asym piece. Summit is clean, smooth, strong and continuous. Get yours June 23rd, you don't want to miss this one.

I was very excited when I heard about the Summit because I like the Phaze 2 very much. I have found sometimes that the Phaze 2 just isn't always quite strong enough and Asymmetrical Cores tend to be too early rolling. The Summit Covers that gap for me with ease. Compared to the Phaze 2, the Summit is about 2 feet earlier and about 2-3 boards stronger overall. It's overall strength makes it a little tougher to use on the typical house shot unless you get the surface right. I would consider following my surface prep or shining this one if you have a house pattern that hooks a lot. The cleaner surface prep for me gets it through the front part of the lane easier while still giving me that strong arc on the backend. I was able to test this on a typical house pattern and the 41ft PWBA HOF Classic Pattern.
On the house pattern, I found that the Summit was able to blend the fresh very well and gave me better continuation than I expected. As the lanes transitioned and I had to move further left with my feet, the Summit still continued very well. I never gave up hitting power at all. The one downside is that since the ball is on the smooth side, any misses in the oil had trouble going through the pins as well but still created a light mixer on most shots. Depending on your style, the factory surface could be a little too aggressive. If it is, I would bring surface up to 4000 or polish for better results.
On the 41ft PWBA HoF Classic Pattern, this ball started to shine more because of the higher volume of oil. On the fresh I was able to play around 15 to 8 and see strong continuation on the backend which went through the pins very well. All the oil volume to the outside made misses to the right a little tricky as the smoothness to the ball did not allow for ample recovery. My misses had to be in the oil closer to the headpin a little more. As the lanes broke down, I saw very similar reaction to the house pattern. I saw ample continuation again and the ball got better as I played more left to right. My line was roughly 18 to 10 and I had a lot of success in that zone which was inside the track line. I still had hold in the middle part of the lane and since I was inside the track, I had more hook to the right giving me more margin of error. I can see this ball for me being more ideal for tournament conditions than house just due to its smooth nature. For those who like the phaze 2 and need just a little more strength, this Summit is that ball!

The new Storm Summit comes with TX-23 Hybrid Reactive cover, Centripetal HD -A.I. Core, and comes at 3000-grit surface. The Summit is going to be a great benchmark ball. The Summit reads the lane early, is round, and continuous going down the lane. I got Axiom vibes from the motion of the ball. It was not as early as the original Axiom but they shaped similar. Compared to the Phaze2, the Summit is earlier and smoother. The Phaze2 was similar in strength but was a bit longer and more shape down lane. I heard a couple people say it is a stronger Zen from how it shapes on the lane and I can also see that. The Summit also shined when the lanes were over/under and was able to help blend the lanes out. This ball will be a step down from your big solids when they are reading the lanes too early. Another home run from Storm!

Tech Specs: TX-23 Hybrid Reactive Coverstock with the Centripetal HD - A.I and finished at 3000ab.
Layout and Lane Specs: 75 x 4 3/4 x 35 - video and ball review done on ProLane on a THS with a slight out of boards on the outside of the track area on the left hand side.
My thoughts: Knowing that the TX-23 is an updated version of the TX-16 that is on the very popular and still selling at a record pace, the Phaze II, I learned from my lesson to make sure to have a long front number and a strong pin to pap layout, and that is where we came up with the layout of 75 x 4 3/4 x 35, left it a "box" surface to see how it would fair. Normally, I would have done some surface adjustment down to 2000ab on this type of hybrid cover. Well, officially it now is the Strongest symmetric ball Storm has made to date. Well, the ball flat out hooks and rolls like nothing else I have seen, when watching a few of my videos of the ball reaction midlane and down lane, the stength is unparallelled to anything I rolled and used in the past 17 years I have been with Roto Grip and the SPI family. Crossing the arrows at 17 board, then passing the outside tracer board, around 3rd/4th board then in the last few feet on the lane the Summit makes a HUGE move to the pocket, and keeps the pins low and dancing across the pin deck. I really said at loud several times while practicing, filming and league the word "WOW" and shook my head because I thought there was NO CHANCE of the ball recovering and it did. Overall I feel in love with the Summit, my league bags now have the Summit, Duo, TNT, Hustle RIP, Hyped Hybrid - my favorite ball since the Hustle INK, and the new RG Spare ball. I don't seeing anything replacing any of these balls for awhile.
Now, rise to the SUMMIT and see your local pro shop to experience of the best strongest symmetric ball Storm has to offer.

Review:
The Storm Summit features the Centripetal HD weight block and is paired with the all new Amplified Inertia outer core. Essentially, this means to the bowler is slightly more length and more motion off the spot compared to one of the all time greats, the Phaze II. Also, something that folks may not be aware of yet is the RG and Differential values are the same for 14 to 16 pounds in the Summit.
For my review I rolled the Summit at the factory 3K finish and also bowled with the Summit at a 3K finish that I prepped four sides with a new Abralon pad. Also, I prepped a Phaze II the same as ^ for comparison purposes. In addition, both the Summit and Phaze II have a 5 x 4 x 4 - 2LS layout.
In comparing the Summit to the Phaze II I was pleasantly surprised the Summit went through the front part of the lane slightly more than I initially thought before rolling this ball. Also, being a hybrid versus a solid it makes sense the hybrid would pick up on the lane a little later than the Phaze II which has a solid coverstock. Therefore, downlane the Summit shows a more angular and stronger shape than the Phaze II. It is easy to see the Phaze II picks up earlier and more rounded compared to the Summit. Both balls will thrive where more volume is present in the front part of the lane. The Summit will have you playing deeper on the lane than the Phaze II.
Is the Summit strong? Yes, it sure is, but I did feel even when I got steep with my angles the Summit did not roll forward as quickly as some strong symetrical balls tend to do. A definite plus for the Summit. Be sure to try out a Storm Summit and fill that gap for fresh league and heavier volume tournament patterns. I'm definitely excited to use the Summit more in tournament competion. Please be sure to visit your favorite pro shop today!

Storms newest Master line ball features the Centripetal HD core surrounded by the all new AI outer core and is wrapped in the TX-23 Hybrid cover. I drilled mine 5 x 5 x 3 and my first thoughts when I threw the ball that it reminded me of the Zen Soul yet a stronger version of it. It’s a touch cleaner and the forward motion it makes off the end of the pattern is a little more defined than the Zen Soul. I can seem myself using this ball on a wide range of patterns because of the versatility of it. For being a strong symmetrical it could be the first ball out of my bag but it can also be the second or third ball out on those longer patterns or ones with more volume after the asymmetrical balls are starting to burn up.

Storm’s new Summit is the strongest Symmetrical Hybrid piece made to date. This piece is good for Medium Oil Patterns. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Rev Rate: 400. Speed: 16.5. Fragrance: Snickerdoodle. Drilled this piece with the Pin to the Right of the Ring and the CG kicked out 1” from the palm. Out of Box ball motion was clean through the front with a smooth motion on the backend. For me, I need a little more oil than the House pattern to throw this piece. I compared this to the Storm IQ Tour, Fate, and DNA. IQ Tour was 2-2 more. Fate is 4-4 more. DNA is 2-2 left but wasn’t as continuous as the Summit.

The summit has been an amazing addition to my bag. For me, it is a strong mid-level ball, that is the first ball out of the bag. It creates a strong, forward roll that carries extremely well. From a house shot to a sport shot, I think this ball should have a spot in your bag!

Haven't had a chance to get it drilled as my primary center is being dismantled at the moment and I haven't found a new center to call home yet. But from what I've seen from friends and others who bowl like I do 2h player balanced - it'll be right up there as best ball all time from Storm like the Phase 2

The Summit features the Centripetal HD core from the Son!Q and Super Son!Q but with an exciting twist, the new AI (Amplified Inertia) outer core which uses geometric cutouts to enhance the strength of the core. This brings the RG down to 2.46 and raises the differential to .056, and is combined with the new TX-23 cover which is an evolution of TX-16 from the Phaze 2. This combination represents the strongest symmetric bowling ball Storm has ever produced. Despite this and despite my initial concerns, it’s not early and slow, it’s actually remarkably long and sharp for how much it hooks and how much it controls the lane. What it reminds me most of is an ultra strong IQ Tour that finishes strong and can handle more angle. The Summit is incredibly versatile, and while definitely strong, it’s in the same vein as the Zen, so I think it’s going to be an excellent ball for tournament players needing strength and stability but with enough shape to finish and hit, but also for league bowlers just looking for a simple user friendly and controllable ball. I think the Summit might be the best marriage of the two that I’ve ever seen in a ball, it takes the Zen concept and overall performance and refines and improves it.

The new Storm Summit comes with the TX-23 Hybrid coverstock, that is a modernized variation of the beloved TX-14 that is found in the the Phaze II. The core is the Centripetal HD weight block is surrounded by the ALL-NEW A.I. (Amplified Inertia) outer core. With this combination, you get Storm's strongest Symmetrical ball to date. I compare this to both my Reality and Iq Tour, and was pleasantly surprised by the results. It got through the heads, slightly better than the Reality, but very strong in the midlane, and very smooth off the backend. It has similar midlane reaction to the IQ tour, but picks up slightly sooner, with a smoother back end reaction. I am able to throw this on sport and house shots, as it has proven to be very versatile. One of the best attributes I have seen with this ball, is when I would miss right early, rather than it picking up and jumping through the nose, the ball slows down, and makes a smooth transition right to the pocket. Typically with strong symmetrical balls, I have to keep my angles tight, in order to carry a corner pin, with the Summit, I do not. I am able to still open up the lane, with out sacrificing carry, which in turn, lets me stay with the same ball longer.
The Summit is going to be a very good ball for some time, so do not hesitate to add this to your arsenal.

Storm Summit will help you reach the peak of your game with all new technology! The TX-23 Hybrid is a modernized variation of the beloved TX-16 from the Phaze II. The Centripetal HD weight block found in the IQ Tour is paired with the A.I. (Amplified Inertia) outer core, which drives the RG down and differential up to create more midlane roll without losing a strong backend reaction. This is Storm’s strongest symmetric ball to date. The Summit provided me with an amazing look and great carry sliding on 33, looking 18 at the arrows with my breakpoint around 7-8. As the lanes broke down I was able to continue to move left and open my angles and it just kept coming. When compared to the Fate, I had to move five boards right with my feet and two with my target at the arrows. The Summit got into a roll much sooner and had a smoother backend reaction. I expect the Summit to excel on medium-higher volume patterns and see it fitting between the Phaze II and DNA. It also reminds me of the Axiom, but with more overall hook potential. The Storm Bowling Summit is truly a gamechanger!
Officially, this is Storm’s strongest symmetric ball to date. Starting on the inside, the Centripetal HD weight block is surrounded by the ALL-NEW A.I. (Amplified Inertia) outer core. This new combination drives the RG down and the differential up ensuring this ball spins up fast and a lot! Paired with the TX-23 Hybrid Cover, the Summit provides enhanced oil absorption for even better grip on those slick conditions. Once you get one in your hands it’ll be tough to get it out.
The 30 x 3 3/8 x 20 layout gives me a little more bite on some tougher conditions. This ball will fit in nicely to my tournament bag. I also look forward to seeing how this ball rolls on our center's house shot tonight.

These days it’s seems everything is always the strongest ever (golf clubs, bowling balls, etc). So, naturally this advertising angle is normally met with some skepticism. Fortunately, I think we really do have one of, if not the strongest, symmetrical balls in Storm’s line in the Summit with its beefed up/modernized Phaze 2 cover wrapped around a core with lower RG and higher differential. I put my standard 4 inch pin up layout on the Summit and it wowed almost immediately with how well it digs in the midlane while still having a fair amount of get up on the back part of the lane. It definitely fits the stronger Phaze 2 characterization or even a super strong IQ Tour. So far it’s looked great on tighter house patterns and longer sport patterns this summer.
Anyone looking for a ball on the stronger side of benchmark should give this one a serious look.

The Storm Summit utilizes the new TX-23 hybrid coverstock and Centripetal weight block. We tested the Summit alongside the Roto Grip Clone on a house shot. The Summit has a RG of 2.46, which is one of the lowest in recent memories. The low RG is paired with a 0.056 Diff. What does this combination produce? Well, the Summit is a very useable ball. I threw it at the PBA50 World Series of Bowling on the Weber pattern and had a good look from around 4th arrow late in the squad. I would not have thought a ball with that low of an RG would be good from that deep but it looked really good. I think the Summit will be more versatile than people expect. The Summit hooked about 1-2 foot sooner than the Roto Grip Clone.

Storm Summit ball review
VLS 5 x 4 3/8 x 1 3/8
The Summit was a ball I wasn't sure where it would fit in for me. TX-23 Hybrid cover over the Centripetal HD weight block surrounded by the AI outer core. This is definitely a strong symmetrical ball. Right away it has been a great addition to my bag on a variety of conditions. It is also a different look than anything else I have.
For me, it fits right between the TNT and Fate as far as the symmetrical pieces I use often. The Summit is much cleaner than the TNT but not as clean as the Fate. It gets through the front but still has the shape in the midlane to go through the pins. It gives me a good bridge between the big early rolling balls I like and the cleaner ones. Often with my Rev rate I get stuck in transition where I need to change but something like the Fate isn't giving me enough yet. It has also been really useful on the medium volume house patterns with a lot of wet-dry. It will roll in the oil but not go too crazy if I get it right. The Summit has also been good when I'm not really sure what I want to throw as it gives me a good, predictable read on the lanes. This is a ball I have seen a wide variety of styles and bowlers have success with. It's for sure a ball that should be in everyone's bag.

Ever since I’ve drilled the Summit, I haven’t been able to put it down. It’s giving me the Phaze ll shape that everyone has come to love on higher volumes of oil. The Summit isn’t just a one trick pony, I’ve been able to go very straight with it on higher volume longer patterns as well as being able to shape it on medium conditions. The Storm Summit has been dubbed the strongest symmetric ball ever to have been produced in Utah. The Summit features a core that has striking resemblance to the Marvel series core, but it is wrapped in the new AI core technology. On the outside, the Summit is wrapped in a unique color combination of the new TX-23 hybrid cover, which is an updated hybrid version of the cover on the Phase 2. I drilled my Summit 4.75x4x4 2LS to get a strong benchmark shape out of it. For myself, this ball was a lot earlier than anticipated given it is a hybrid and hooked quite a bit. While it has been something that has not completely matched up to my game, I see this being incredibly successful for speed dominant or low rev players that struggle to see a ball pick up on the lane soon enough. This ball goes through the pins very well and is already one of the top selling balls on the market. If you need something to get through some of the mucky sport shots or help blend cliffed house shots, this is going to be the ball for you! The Summit is the newest addition to the Storm line and for the little bit that I have thrown it so far, I can tell that this will be my go to before the Phaze II for a long time. For me, it provides a little more mid lane read with a stronger transition down lane. This allows me to use it on fresher conditions, after big asym balls like the DNA begin to burn up. I could also see this ball being a good option when polished for when the Phaze II begins to die down lane. I find this piece for interchangeable when it comes to where it could be slotted in the bag. I would recommend this ball to anyone that is looking for a good step up from the Phaze II. Storm Summit is one of Storms strongest symmetricals to date! Using the Centripetal HD weight block wrapped in the all new TX-23 hybrid cover and don’t forget this ball also has the new A.I. (Amplified Inertia) outer core. This ball has become one of my favorites in the bag this summer. It’s the perfect blend of heavy roll and down lane motion. I’ve used this ball on a variety of patterns but seems to really shine on the longer higher volume patterns. When my Reality starts to burn up or can’t get any further in without leaving corner pins, the summit stores more energy and I have no problem crossing boards with it. It also seems to handle carry down and cliff very well. I have total confidence knowing this ball will hook on anything! The Summit has a low RG value of 2.46 a medium differential of 0.056 making it the strongest symmetric ball to date from Storm.
Starting on the inside, the Centripetal HD weight block is surrounded by the ALL-NEW A.I. (Amplified Inertia) outer core. This new combination drives the RG down and the differential up ensuring this ball spins up fast.
Paired with the TX-23 Hybrid Cover, the Summit provides enhanced oil absorption for even better grip on those slick conditions. Which in turn gives you the bowler the ability to open up the lanes more
I did a ball comparison to the 900 Global Zen Master, Storm Absolute and the 900 Global Reality Check at 42 ft house shot, 25 ml of oil. The layout chosen 15 x 5 5/16 x 25.
In comparison to the 900 Global Zen Master, the Summit starts up quicker and is more aggressive off the spot verses the Zen Master that’s a pinch cleaner and more rounded off the spot. Through the shots you will see how the Summit and the Zen Master are very similar even going 5 and 3 left they both keep up with each other. It wasn’t until I went deep inside where the Summit out hooked the Zen Master.
In comparison to the Storm Absolute, The Summit starts up quicker and overall hooks way more. The Absolute has a R2S Deep Hybrid cover with a similar RG of 2.48 verses a 2.46 of the Summit and a lower differential of 0.050 verses a 0.056 so in retrospect of numbers the Absolute should hook more but the TX-23 cover is a lot higher on the strength scale verses R2S an in turn hooks more.
In comparison to the 900 Global Reality Check, the Summit also starts up quicker and stronger off the spot. The Reality Check is a much cleaner option even being an asymmetric ball with a more rounder shape verses the Summit with a more sharper shape that climbs the hill much stronger on the heavier conditions.
As per the surface adjustments, the Summit at box surface is 3000 grit which will be strong a continuous and round off the spot
At 2,000 Polish the ball will go a little longer and sharper off the spot
In the bag, will be the Reality, Eternity, Summit, Dark Code, IQ Ruby
I was super excited to get this ball with the new A.I. (Amplified Inertia) outer core, and wow was I not disappointed! This ball is now the first out of the bag, no matter what the conditions. The Summit is very clean and smooth through the heads. With the low RG and the higher differential, the ball picks up perfectly midlane and is strong and continuous through the back end. This ball will definitely work great for all bowlers of various styles. I dropped weight a while ago to 14lbs and have been worried about carry ever since. This is definitely no longer a concern. For me the ball moves and hits just as hard as the 15lb balls I see on the lanes.
Officially Storms strongest Symmetrical ball! I agree with many out there that is ball compare to the Phaze 2 but I see this going a touch longer and more continuous! When my Phaze 2 starts to burn up this is the ball im going to and my oh my is it amazing!

The Summit surprised me. Looking at the Low RG. And Extremely High Diff. before drilling, I can’t believe the ball still motions down lane. The .056 Diff in the Summit allows for huge angles through the front of the lane with a reassurance that the ball will make it back to the pocket and still carry. It reminds me of a continuous Asymmetric ball which I like. I used a layout to slightly lower the diff by having the pin in my ring finger (5 ½ x 4 x 3 ½). I knew by design this ball was going to have a lot of hook potential and I typically bowl better with balls that hook less, so I wanted to make sure this ball had a good amount of play when I’m bowling in local tournaments. Shinning the cover does help, but I recommend through it first before changing the cover.
The Storm Summit has been a staple in my bag since I had it drilled! It fits right above my Phaze 2 in my bag, which it compliments extremely well! If my Phaze 2 is a little too clean in the mid-lane, my Summit picks up in the mid-lane a little earlier (thanks to its super lower RG with the AI tech.) With the updated cover from the Phaze 2, TX-23 Hybrid, the Summit is still fairly clean through the fronts, and its more of what’s inside the ball that gets it to read earlier and smooth out! I imagine this one may be in my bag for quite a while!

Hey everyone, I'm back with another ball review, and this time it's for the Storm Summit!
In 15 pounds this ball is wrapped in the TX-23 Hybrid Coverstock and comes with 3000 abaron and an RG of 2.46, Diff of .056.
So what do we have here…. This ball is the strongest symmetric to date and has been compared to a stronger Phaze 2 and what a compliment that is. Now that I have thrown this ball I have found it very strong and as I have said in other reviews being more speed than rev dominant I have found this ball to look best going straight down the track. I have thrown it against the 900 Global Zen Gold Label and had to move right as the Zen GL is a shiny pearl with React Gloss. I see this ball being great on the fresh and after some lane shine can be the ball you can bowl all three games of league with.

The new Storm Summit features the Centripetal HD weight block and is surrounded by an all new A.I. (amplified inertia) outer core. All of that is wrapped in a new TX-23 Hybrid cover stock. The Summit is the strongest symmetrical ball Storm has ever released. Drilled at 5x4x2 (pin above bridge), this ball does not disappoint. I was a big fan of the Axiom, which is similar in RG and differential, but the Summit surpasses the performance of the Axiom. The Summit is cleaner through the front part of the lane and provides a much stronger backend motion than the Axiom. For a low RG ball, this ball just keeps on coming when you must open your angles. The one thing the Summit needs is oil because it flat out hooks!! This ball will smooth out the wet/dry house patterns and will also provide enough traction on the heavier sport patterns
I drilled my SUMMIT up with a 4 x 4 x 4 pin under layout. I use this layout on pin unders to try to get a smooth transition. I have left it box finish which is 2000 abralon.
Initial thoughts were strong but smooth. The SUMMIT was seeing the friction very early but not hopping off it like my other stronger pin up balls like the DNA and GEM were.
The SUMMIT is a nice add on for when your big core/big traction balls are seeing the friction early and starting to stop or slow down too much. The SUMMIT also gives the appearance of a nice ball to have another as a compliment. I am going to add a pin up layout in the SUMMIT to go with the one I have already.
Layout: 45 x 4 3/4” x 35
The Summit, even though it is technically a hybrid, rolls just like a solid for me. Compared side-by-side to a recently drilled Phaze 2, the Summit is slightly cleaner in the front part of the lane and has slightly more backend, but it can handle the same amount of oil. The difference for me is that the Summit rolls better when I need to move left and circle the lane more. Right now I have it as the strongest ball in my house shot bag after hitting it with 4000, though I will bring it back down to 3000 for sport shots. It is squarely in that medium-heavy to heavy oil lane condition range - not as strong as the asymmetric balls such as the Gem or Reality, but still can handle a lot of oil. I would put the overall strength and shape of the Summit as similar to the DNA.

COMMENTS
Announcing Storm’s strongest symmetric ball to date.
Featuring the Centripetal HD weight block is surrounded by the ALL-NEW A.I. (Amplified Inertia) outer core which lowers the RG down and raises the Diff up ensuring maximum flare potential.
Paired with the TX-23 Hybrid Cover, a cover derived from the TR16 solid on the PhazeII it is a significantly stronger dig in the oil on heavier THS or longer sport.
My layout is:
5 1/4 x 5 3/8 x 1 3/8
Revrate: 325 AT: 16
The Summit for me was very slow. It looks like my Gem rolling down the lanes, only its symmetrical. Depending on what the lane is giving me, I was able to start a session playing the track area. Carry was above average along this line but as the lanes transitioned, my moves left to find the right amount of head oil allowed me to achieve optimum entry angle. I did want to keep my speed up as slower deliveries quickly read the friction.
The Summit can hold its own against any big asym depending on the need. If you have issues matching up with big asymmetrical balls, then this ball should be in your arsenal. For the one ball, one league THB is a must.
My Summit fits between my 900G Reality and RG TNT. Same shapes with different rolls. I say use the Summit when you want a ball stronger than the TNT and slower response than your big asymmetrical.

As I am bowling on the PBA 50 National Tour this summer I needed to try a different layout and ball motion to help me with lane transitions that we face. I can’t do a true pin down layout because the ball becomes too delayed as it goes down the lane and if there is not enough friction the ball becomes too slow. With the ball shape of the Summit, with its Centripetal HD core where it revs up in the midlane and is continuous on the back end, and a weaker layout, it gives me a stronger symmetrical piece with more length for when the heads start to break down, but the continuous motion off the end of the pattern without the use of polish.
The TX-23 cover makes this ball stronger than the Phaze II and TNT for me. I was able to test out the ball motion on two of the PBA 50 patterns so far since drilling this ball. The 42’ Mark Roth pattern hooked more than usual since the oil volume was lower and the lane surface was older and on the 36’ Del Ballard pattern at the PBA 50 World Series where I should have added polish or 2000 abralon to help with the over/ under reaction I had. This ball may be more geared for the 39’ Mike Aulby or 38’ Marshall Holman patterns.
On the house shot this ball rolls fantastic. If you watch my ball review with the out of box surface on the Summit it was a little too slow but after scratching the ball with a 1000 abralon by hand the ball reaction got better with a noticeable stronger motion off the dry.

The all new Storm Summit is Storm’s strongest symmetric piece to date, comparable to the Roto Grip TNT. Compared to the TNT, however, I believe that the Summit will be the most user friendly for a variety of players. For me this ball feels a lot more like the Storm Axiom, a ball that was very strong, and versatile both in lane play and on a variety of patterns. For me this ball allows me to move farther left without sacrificing carry compared to the TNT which tends to bog down when I get too far left. The Summit would be a ball that I take out of the bag first on longer/high volume patterns. I tend to like symmetric cores more than asymmetric ones so this ball will fit a spot in my bag that I was missing. I am extremely excited to see what this ball can do moving forward, go out and get yours today!
this is a great ball, it is good under all circumstances and always get the job done. this ball is good for heavy and thin oil conditions. overall I feel this ball should be in every ones bag.
Storm Summit Featuring the Centripetal HD weight block is surrounded by the ALL-NEW A.I. outer core. My Layout for this was a 5 ¼ x 5 x 3 Storm pin buffer system. For me this ball was clean through the front read the midlane not to aggressive and had mid to strong finish on the back. This ball absolutely destroys the pins its scary. Def a bench mark ball for sure. This asymmetrical is great on the fresh as well on the mess because of its predictable and smooth overall reaction. I am comfortable playing all angles with this ball not having to worry about carry

The new storm summit features Centripetal HD weight block is surrounded by the ALL-NEW A.I. (Amplified Inertia) outer core. This new combination drives the RG down and the differential up ensuring this ball spins up fast and a lot! Paired with the TX-23 .The layout i used on my summit was 4.75x4.75x2 using VLS or Dual Angle 60x4.75x30.
Here's how the summit fits in my arsenal.I have it right between my Storm DNA and Phaze 2.
The Summit responds to friction faster than Phaze 2 so when Phaze 2 won't make the corner the summit will be a great choice.
The Summit will allow you to open up your angles and still have a good motion downlane.

The Summit is Storm’s new addition to the master line and is the strongest symmetrical ball to date thanks to new core and cover designs. First, the core features the Centripetal HD core that was most recently in the Super Son!Q and paired it with an all-new Amplified Inertia (A.I.) outer core. The cover features the new TX-23 hybrid coverstock, which is a modernized variation of the TX-16 cover found on the infamous Phaze II. This new core/cover combo creates an early rolling, high flaring ball designed to produce an increased amount of midlane read with a strong, yet controlled, backend reaction.
With the Storm Summit, I’ve seen early and continuous ball motion that reminiscent of a stronger Phaze II, but probably better compares to the Storm Axiom. I’ve left the Summit at the factory finish of 3000-grit Abralon and it gives me a very strong and versatile reaction which can be great for blending out over/under league conditions, but still provides a stronger backend motion that will drive through the pins and help to carry those off-pocket hits. For me, the Summit fits nicely in an arsenal between balls like the Storm DNA and Phaze II.
While it’s certainly great versatile ball for league bowlers, the Summit is a can’t-miss ball for tournament players as it provides a strong and stable ball motion throughout the lane from front to back that will keep you in the pocket on challenging conditions. It’s a great option to use on longer/heavier volume patterns after bigger asymmetrical balls start burning up, but you still need a stronger rolling and predictable ball reaction.

I use this on Med to Heavy oil conditions. I am always a fan of the hybrid covers. they seem to give me the ball reaction that fits my eye. That gives me confidence to make better shots. I get a very consistent strong reaction with the Summit.

With this ball being claimed to be Storm's strongest ball to date, I figured I'd go with my typical dual angle layout 50x4x30 really didn't want to get to crazy with this one knowing its going to be something similar to the Axiom. I've used this ball on a typical house pattern and really seems to blend the pattern well it rolls early but is nothing crazy down lane. The strong part comes form how early this ball wants to get in to a roll. This piece will be user friendly on a lot of conditions and lot of styles. I am a higher speed, rev challenged 220-250ish, high tilt, high rotation, and super low track player. I drilled my Storm Summit 5 x 3 x 2 using the Storm VLS and my axis point is 3 ¼ right and 7/8 up. The Storm Summit is a big symmetrical piece that I loved using on medium to heavy oil especially on my sport shot league. It was early and smooth and helped me control the backend and transition. Not to mention the lower RG and High Diff is a ball I definitely gravitate towards and could not put down. If you like a ball that spins up fast and a lot this is the ball for you!
My YouTube video of the ball can be found at: https://youtu.be/WYvngUn7vGE?si=7yZXbJmUPTl3K6Vl
The strongest symmetrical ball to date from Storm. Summit. Featuring a new core (Amplified Inertia) along with the Centripetal weight block, the Summit reads the lane early, often and pounds the pins with authority. With an extremely low RG (2.46) and high differential (.056), this ball is extremely strong and is designed for those conditions with extreme amounts of oil. It has certainly lived up to its hype thus far and I’m impressed. It’s been in my tournament bag since I’ve been able to drill it and its earned a consistent spot for now.
I’ve drilled two so far and really like both. The one I’ve had the most success with is mapped out as 5.5 x 4 x 2. This puts the pin just to the left of my bridge along with a kicked CG. Also, I’ve let the lane oil shine the surface, so it looks somewhat shiny, but I wanted to keep the original teeth in the cover so I didn’t use any polish. When the asymmetrical balls don’t look great, the Summit is my go-to. I’ve mainly used it when I’ve had to create some angle and go left-to-right with it, but it’s been perfect for house shots. It’s not too quick off the friction and it picks up in the middle if I miss in. The situation is the same for tournament conditions too. It’s been a staple in my bag.
If you need a strong, benchmark type ball that can be used on multiple patterns and compliments the asymmetrical pieces in your bag, go drill a Summit!

The Summit is a very strong symmetrical piece from Storm. I got this ball as a step up from the Phaze 2. After throwing it for a couple weeks, I was extremely pleased with the way the ball reads the mid-lane and its ability to kick out the corners on "off" hits. I think the key with the Summit is adjusting its surface to fit your game. I touched mine with 2000 and finished it with Storm's step 2 to match up with my mid range speed and rev rate. Layout: 5x4x3 Pap: 5'' right 1/2'' up.
Sam Cooper. Roto Grip Amateur Staffer. Layout 50x5.5x40. When I got this ball, you could just tell it was going to hook. I first tested it out on a beat-up house shot just to get some oil on the cover. I did have to keep moving my feet left but I also noticed that the ball never stopped hooking or "burned up". Next, I tested it on some longer patterns with some volume. This ball had no problem reading the mid lane and continuing through the back of the pin deck. In my one league we bowl on the Kegal Chromium oil pattern(42ft). The team we were bowling likes to throw urethane on this pattern. I thought to myself, lets test out the Summit with the urethane carry down. I am going to keep this in the memory banks because the ball looked amazing despite the carry down on the pair. For as big and strong as this ball is it is surprisingly usable. I am impressed and knew it would be a great tournament ball. In terms of comparing it to other balls in the line it is stronger than a phase 2 but less than bigger asymmetrical like the Gem's . Not to mention the noticeable hitting power at the pins!
The Summit is Storm’s strongest symmetric ball - a strong ball is a core that spins up early front to back, not necessarily a ball that hooks a lot right to left. Historically, I haven’t gotten along well with balls that roll early - I’ve always preferred shiny pearls and hybrids, I wanted to give the new A.I. (Amplified Inertia) core a chance. The A.I. core is supposed to carry off hits better - and who doesn’t want to carry more! I can’t confirm that it makes a difference, but it definitely feels like it. I drilled the Summit 5 x 4 x 2 1/2. One thing I have noticed about the Summit is that it does lane shine pretty quickly - and that’s not a bad thing, it helps me get the ball a bit further down the lane, but still retains the smooth, controllable motion. Check out the ball motion review I posted on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl7dlIRkhkQ. My Specs - Speed - 16 mph, Rev Rate - 315. PAP 5 1/8 x 7/8 Up.
I was disappointed in the color. In the picture on line the colors were much brighter
United States
This ball was well priced and has been exactly what I needed in slick lane conditions.
California, United States
Out of Box. shot 762, had 540, for the first 2. I loved this ball! Until I put about 15 games On it. Now it acts like a big asym on a house shot. Where It bruns up, leaving alot of Flat 10s, and pocket 8-10s! This is my only SPI ball I didn't like!. But, Don't let my comment discouraged you from purchasing. It definitely works best with lower revs bowlers!
Love it so much I want another for backup when this one gets old. Are you planning on getting any morin stock?
