Track Proof Review
While no longer in production, the Track Proof remains a solid option on the used market for bowlers who need reliable heavy oil performance. The asymmetric core design and solid reactive coverstock make it ideal for challenging lane conditions.
hey track fans i'm rich hansen the product manager for track and today i have with me adam mishman the product specialist for track for the western region and today we're talking about the brand new proof hybrid with the release of the track proof hybrid we're completing the proof of line the original ball come out was the proof it was strong mid lane with an aggressive back end reaction to complement that we came out with a proof pearl which gave us more length but a very similar motion down lane for the proof hybrid we wanted to create something that was much more aggressive in the middle
proof hybrid features the exact same core design that is in both the proof of proof pearl the difference is we've gone to a prime response hybrid cover stock what that's going to do is enhance our motion in the mid lane because it's going to pick up a little bit sooner than proof pearl but not quite as soon as a regular proof so adam we had you throw the proof hybrid and compare it to the proof and the proof pearl tell us what you see different on the lane comparing the proof hybrid to the regular proof so the proof was one of my favorites when it first came out a couple months ago and with the introduction of the proof hybrid what i see
is a little more mid lane continuation compared to what i see with the with the proof solid which was a little slower a little more round continuous type shape this gets you a little more back in a little more pop off the back yeah so when it sees the friction it it really wants a little bit quicker or faster it stands up a little bit it wants to change direction a little faster okay perfect now let's talk about the difference which you saw in the proof pearl versus the proof hybrid what did you see um the proof hybrid giving you what the proof pearl does so the proof pearl is extremely clean
through the front part of the lane for me it's a shinier surface likes to see a little more change of direction down the lane rather than earlier shape so this ball is four to five less than this ball for me overall um i can stand a little more into the friction when they start to break down this fall still continues through the front part of the lane a little easier this ball picks up needs a little more oil on the lane you see a little more shape okay so looking at the layouts you have here on adam i noticed they're all drilled the same which is what we do for the
ball video so we give a true comparison i notice the pen is down and the mass bias is just uh right at your thumb what does that lay out for you numbers-wise and what is that what do you look for on that layout why did you choose that way out so numbers for me are 50 by five four and a quarter by 65. this gives me a smoother type reaction down the lane i tend to have a little uh trouble getting balls to pick up in the middle part of the lane so i like to see a little earlier shape and the pinned down drillings usually
help me get me a little more earlier roll okay yeah round or more continuous correct correct so now that we've talked about what you saw difference wise between the tell us when you would use each one when would you use the proof so the proof is one of my personal favorites and it's the first fallout of my bag it's that benchmark asymmetric type ball for me smoother controllable i know what it's going to do i can make adjustments based off of that so with that said heavy oil medium oil
get some more medium heavy oil type off this is going to be in that same realm as far as medium and heavy type oil this is just going to be a little more pop down the lane compared to a different shape overall similar in overall hook just a different shape getting there yeah so when this ball starts to get a little lazier and not continuing through the pins as well i would go to something like this where i'd be able to see a little more length and a little change a big zone or any other layout the same part of the lane transition to the same like a different ball but stay in that part same part of the line
okay and then the next step down when they start to transition to the next level and start drying out the front part of the lane i would stay in the same part of the lane and go to the proof of pearl where it would be again a little cleaner and a little more angular down the line this is more of a medium oil type ball compared to a medium or a medium heavy packaging all right i want to thank adam for joining me today and showing us the track proof hybrid comparing it to the proof pearl and the regular proof don't forget january 14th visit your local pro shop to pick yourself one up and if you want more information about

Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed that the Track Proof Hybrid occupies a distinct middle ground within Track’s Proof lineup, delivering noticeably more mid-lane continuation than the solid Proof while maintaining superior front-end length compared to the Proof Pearl. Independent reviewers observed that the hybrid coverstock picks up friction earlier than the pearl but later than the solid, creating a more aggressive mid-lane reaction with quicker direction change off the friction zone. On heavy to medium-heavy oil conditions, the ball exhibited approximately 4-5 boards less total hook than the Proof Pearl, yet still provided the angular backend motion characteristic of the asymmetric core design. The hybrid coverstock’s earlier engagement with lane friction proved particularly effective when paired with pin-down drilling layouts, which testers noted helped achieve smoother, more continuous roll shapes through the mid-lane—a notable advantage for bowlers who struggle with early ball pickup.
Comparative testing showed distinct performance separation between all three Proof variants. The solid Proof served as the controllable benchmark in medium to medium-heavy conditions, while the hybrid delivered more pop off the backend when lane conditions began to break down. The Proof Pearl, by contrast, offered the cleanest front-end motion and more angular backend shape in medium oil, requiring drier lanes to fully utilize its capabilities. Testing suggested strategic bag sequencing: starting with the solid Proof as a baseline, transitioning to the hybrid as lanes transitioned and required more continuation, then moving to the Proof Pearl only as oil diminished significantly. This tiered approach allows bowlers to stay in the same part of the lane while adjusting coverstock aggression to match changing lane conditions throughout a session.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Proof Hybrid is ideally suited for bowlers throwing heavy to medium-heavy oil who want a mid-lane aggressive option but struggle with balls that pick up too early. If you find yourself frequently adjusting ball selection based on lane transition and breakdown, the hybrid bridges the gap between a benchmark solid and a length-oriented pearl coverstock. This ball works particularly well for players who prefer earlier shape development but appreciate the control and predictability of smooth, continuous motion through the pins—making it an excellent primary selection for league and tournament play on fresh heavy oil patterns.
This ball also appeals to bowlers building a versatile reactive arsenal on a budget. Rather than committing to multiple balls across the entire Proof line, players can confidently choose the hybrid as a workhorse that handles medium-heavy conditions effectively while maintaining the flexibility to add a solid or pearl later as your game or lane conditions demand. The proven asymmetric core ensures competitive hook potential without requiring advanced release skills, making it accessible to serious intermediate bowlers while offering the performance depth that experienced players expect.
The Pros
- • Strong hook potential with asymmetric Track Proof Core
- • Track Prime Response Solid coverstock handles heavy oil well
- • Consistent roll with good flare potential
The Cons

Over the course of 7 games, was able to move from 10 at the arrows in to 27 and never lost that strong motion and continuation through the pins. A unique feature for a large core, strong coverstock ball.
The Track Proof is a very nice re-start for Track at the new plant. It is a strong, solid, asymmetric ball. It picks up in the mid lane and has a strong change of direction. It reads the friction very well and picks up just enough in the oil to get the job done. The black & blue cover and sky-blue writing look great. I was able to throw it along side the Ebonite Omni and they both rolled really well. The Track Proof is slightly longer and slightly less angular. Threw the Proof in league last night a squeezed out a low 700. As strong as it is in oil it will go straight into my tournament arsenal.
The Track Proof is the next great black bowling ball. If you enjoyed the previous two black bowling balls from Track(Legion and Logix) you will love this one. It is as clean in the heads and midlane and strong at the break point. It will allow you to move left and know that it is coming back!!!!
The Track Proof is an outstanding solid! It is earlier than a Hammer Redemption Solid and has a ridiculous amount of motion throughout the lane. Those that like to throw it harder with or without hand, this ball is your absolute best choice. If you throw it a touch slower and like to hook the ball, you won't be unhappy. This ball allows you to be in every part of the lane that you're most comfortable playing. Very Legion Solid like. This too would be an excellent choice for the USBC nationals. Well worth the money!! Not gonna lie...This is probably the BEST BALL EVER from Track Bowling! Track Bowling first release from the Brunswick plant, it has TONS of shelf appeal and it has so much motion down lane. I was so surprised to see it was so clean through the fronts and SUPER SHARP down lane. Now you need to understand that I'm a Tweener and need all the help I can get, so believe me when I say you NEED THIS BALL, YOU REALLY NEED THIS BALL!!!
