Track Cypher Pearl Review
The Track Cypher Pearl pairs the Synergy core with HK-22 Prime pearl cover for maximum length and a sharp backend snap on medium oil. Video reviews inside.
welcome to another episode of trackcast I'm the product manager for Track bowling Rich Hansen and today I want to talk to you about our newest introduction the cipher Pearl so now let's talk about the design of the new Cipher Pearl the cipher Pearl features our Synergy core that has an RG of 2.54 and a differential of 047 for the cover stock we're going with our Prime respon Pearl additive package in our well-known hk22 Bas That hk22
Base allows us to have a shiny ball create more traction in the oil that combined with the Synergy core gives us clean link to the front for a very responsive backend reaction so now let's talk about when you should be using the new Cipher Pearl we designed this ball with the prime
response addtive package in hk22 base with this new Synergy core to work best on medium oil conditioning this ball is going to offer easy length through the front with a strong motion at the back end of the lane this would be a great ball to transition to when your bigger balls start to use up too much energy in the front and ball that has more backend reaction
all right so there you've heard about the new Cipher Pearl and some information about it if you want to find out for more information about the cipher Pearl make sure you go to tracking.com and as always make sure you follow us on our social media channels
Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed that the Track Cypher Pearl delivers clean, controlled motion through the front of the lane with a notably responsive backend reaction. The combination of the Synergy core (RG 2.54, differential .047) and the Prime Response Pearl coverstock package built on the HK22 base creates a ball designed specifically for medium oil conditions. Independent reviewers observed that this pearl reactive coverstock maintains good traction in oil while the symmetric core geometry produces predictable backend motion—characteristics that work together to minimize energy loss in the front end and maximize reaction in the midlane and beyond.
The Cypher Pearl positions itself as an effective transition tool for bowlers whose heavier equipment begins to over-hook or expend too much energy early. Testing on standard medium oil patterns showed the ball maintaining a smooth arc through the front with sharp, defined backend motion that delivers strong pin action. The shiny pearl finish of the HK22 base allows the ball to maintain length where shinier covers typically provide more skid, while the Prime Response additive package ensures adequate friction when needed to create the responsive motion testers observed.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Cypher Pearl is ideally suited for bowlers transitioning from reactive resin equipment who need more backend reaction or who find their current ball hooking too aggressively in medium oil conditions. It works particularly well for players carrying balls that burn up too much energy in the front part of the lane, offering a complementary option that preserves momentum longer.
This ball also appeals to bowlers who prefer predictable, symmetrical core dynamics and want a pearl reactive option that won’t overreact in fresh oil. League bowlers and tournament competitors working medium oil patterns will find the Cypher Pearl’s balance of length and backend motion useful for maintaining consistency as oil patterns transition throughout a session.
The Pros
- • High 2.54 RG with pearl cover delivers maximum length through the oil pattern
- • HK-22 Prime Response Pearl provides a powerful backend snap with clean energy
- • Synergy core creates predictable, repeatable motion for consistent scoring
- • Excellent complement to the Cypher Solid for a complete arsenal pairing
The Cons
- • Limited traction on heavy oil — designed specifically for medium and lighter conditions
- • Symmetric core with moderate .047 diff limits total hook potential
- • May over-skid on extremely dry conditions despite pearl design

Track did a nice job with this piece. The combination of the Synergy core and Prime response Pearl w/ HK22 cover makes for a ball that is very clean well down lane before the HK22 takes over and gives a nice change of direction through the pin deck. This ball is not overpowering, and I see it as more forward than sideways. I find some bowling balls are too sideways creating problems. This ball is not that for me. It strikes a lot and not very many splits when I make a bad shot. This is a good rolling piece. Don't miss out on this one. It's good.
