Track Strata Review
While no longer in production, the Track Strata remains a solid option on the used market for bowlers facing heavy oil conditions who need reliable hook potential. The combination of the asymmetric Strata core and QR-11 solid reactive coverstock delivers the strong, continuous motion needed for challenging lane conditions.
hey trek fans i'm rich hansen the trek product manager and we're here today to talk about the brand new strata hybrid all right before we talk about the strata hybrid i want to take a second talk about the original strata this ball was introduced this last fall and it was a perfect ball for heavy oil this was the first time we had used the strata core it also featured our new cover stock the qr11 solid featuring rg of 2.475 a point zero five zero differential and a point zero one seven intermediate differential
this ball dug into the mid lane really well and gave a strong continuous motion of the back end so now what do we do with the new strata hybrid we kept the exact same strata core didn't change the core numbers of densities anything we just changed from a solid version of qr11 to a hybrid version so what are you going to see different you're going to see a little more length in the front the same strong mid lane reaction but a little bit more pop and more continuation down lane due to this hybrid cover stock so as you watch matt sanders throw the brand new strata hybrid compared to the strata if you see a cleaner motion to the front part of the lane the ball is
conserving more energy and when it hits the back of the pattern you see a stronger change direction and more continuation to the pins the finished island strata hybrid is a 500 sierra pad followed up with a compound finish followed with a high gloss finish that finished process aids in getting this ball down the lane and serving more energy for the back end of the pattern just like the original strata the strata hybrid features dot and dynamic core technologies these two technologies give us ultimate durability and virtually unlimited
drilling options there you have it the brand new strata hybrid now make sure you visit your local pro shop starting june 3rd to pick yourself up one make sure you follow us on our social media pages and also go to trackballing.com for more information
Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
The Track Strata was designed as a heavy oil destroyer, featuring Track’s asymmetric Strata core paired with the QR-11 solid reactive coverstock. With an RG of 2.47 and differential of 0.050, plus a mass bias of 0.017, this ball provides strong overall hook with good length through the heads before making a controlled move on the backend. The 1000 grit factory finish helps the ball read the lane early and maintain traction in heavy oil volumes.
The QR-11 solid reactive coverstock is the star of this setup, providing the grip needed to cut through oil while the asymmetric core creates angular motion downlane. With 4-5 inches of flare potential, the Strata offers enough track migration to keep the ball hitting consistently through longer sets. While it excels in heavy oil, the solid coverstock and lower RG make it less versatile on lighter conditions, where it may hook too early and lose energy. Bowlers seeking a more condition-specific ball for heavy oil patterns will find the Strata’s focused performance appealing, especially at the discounted prices often found in the secondary market.

Bowlers frequently mention:
The Track Strata is the first high performance ball to come out of the new plant. It features QR-11 cover-stock and the new Strata core. It is big asymmetric ball that reads the mid-lane early. For me it has a big smooth arc that continues through the pins very well. It will work well on heavy, long, or fresh oil situations. IMO, it is a few boards weaker than Hammers Redemption Solid yet stronger & earlier than the Track Proof Solid. Will go straight into my tournament arsenal.
This is the first high performance ball to come out of the new plant. New Strata core. Its a asymmetric ball that reads the mid-lane early. It will work well on heavy and longer oil patterns. Def a mist have in the arsenal.
Strata is the newest and strongest heavy oil ball in the current Track Bowling line, and I do emphasize HEAVY. This ball is very strong in the midlane, and rolls smoother than any ball in the Track line I have seen in a long time. This ball performs! A ball definitely you will want to use in tournaments for heavy volume and/or sport patterns of various lengths. This is a new favorite of mine, but especially for patterns. The Track Strata is a very strong rolling ball! For a ball that comes 500/1000 grit right out of the box, and the strongest coverstock that Track has ever produced, that should come as no surprise. However, there are some surprises. Mine was drilled 45x4x25. The surprise was how clean the ball rolled through the heads, even out of box. Where the teeth of this ball seem to come out is the mid-lane. The mid-lane move is quite strong, and gives you a lot of angle to and through the pins. The Strata has been in my league ball since I got it, and for a strong HP solid, that says a lot to me. The Strata wound up being way more versatile than I expected, and recommend this ball not only for sport, but for house shots as well – just make sure there is A LOT of oil to play! The Track Strata is a lot of ball great for those long sport patterns or heavy oil house patterns. The Strata clears the heads with ease but really starts to pick up in the midlane and just doesn't quit! I love mine and you will also! Get to your local pro shop and get this bad boy now!
