Performance Analysis

Performance Analysis

Testing revealed the 900 Global Reality to be a strong, defined angular piece that delivers consistent midlane read and backend motion. Independent reviewers observed the ball on house patterns with minimal track and direct oil conditions, where it demonstrated clear shape definition without laboring down the lane. The reactive solid coverstock paired with the asymmetric core creates a revvy motion that builds into a strong, continuous roll through the pins. Multiple testers noted the ball’s ability to provide good length while still generating defined backend motion—a balance that proved effective across different release styles and rev rates.

The Reality’s backend performance impressed across different bowling styles. One reviewer with a faster, more direct approach found the ball tracked around 15-7, providing adequate miss room in both directions despite the ball’s strength. A second tester with a deeper hand position achieved solid carry with the same piece while playing 17-8, demonstrating the ball’s versatility within medium-heavy oil conditions. The strong defined shape made immediate impressions on multiple bowlers, with testers noting above-average pin carry and clear, intentional motion characteristics. Surface adjustments were minimal during testing, suggesting the coverstock comes competition-ready for the intended oil volume.

Who Is This Ball For?

The 900 Global Reality is best suited for bowlers seeking a strong, angular piece in their medium-heavy oil arsenal—particularly those who value clear, defined backend motion over multiple versatile looks. Bowlers with moderate to higher rev rates will see the most benefit, as the asymmetric core design rewards revolutions with strong continuous rotation. This ball works well for anyone stepping up from milder asym or hybrid pieces, or for those looking to replace aging strong defined balls in their bag.

This is not an ideal choice for bowlers who prefer elongated, skid-snap shapes or need maximum adjustability within a single ball. Similarly, bowlers with lower rev rates or those primarily playing fresh house conditions may find the reactive solid coverstock overly aggressive. However, for competitors and serious league bowlers tackling medium-heavy conditions who want a predictable, strong-motion reference ball, the Reality delivers the angular response and carry they’re looking for.

The reality by 900 Global is one of the biggest asymmetric balls I haveseen for me it is going to be a big staple in my bag when the lanes get tricky so really early on and even late into a set. being able to watch it get through the mess in the front and make it down the lane and act like nothing has happened shows that this ball will be like I have said before one of the biggest staples in my bad!!

If you know me then you know I’m a big fan of symmetrics. It’s pretty rare that I rave over a ball with an asymmetric core but this is one of them! The 900 Global Reality is not a ball that hooks in the front part of the lane and bails down lane. It cleared the fronts with ease and continued through the pins better than most others. I compared the Reality to the Rubicon in my ball review, and the Rubicon picks up a few feet earlier and has an overall more rounded motion. I’m eager to put some shine on the Reality to see how far left I can move with it. It will be a ball that comes out of the bag directly after the Rubicon, RST X1, or Proton Physix depending on which one you have. The new hook machine from 900 Global is the all new Reality! This ball features the S84 Response Solid Reactive Coverstock wrapped around the Disturbance Asymmetric Core! This ball does come out of the box at 2000 grit which is fantastic for those heavier lane conditions! My Reality is drilled pin over my middle finger which is about 5 inches away from my PAP with the mass bias away from my thumb! Throwing this ball in tournaments around me is I’m very impressed with how much this ball rolls throughout the whole lane! The reality doesn’t change direction as much as a UFO or Proton Physix but will roll more throughout the lane than those 2! Definitely like adding a different and really good shape for those heavier lane conditions! Head over to your local pro shop and get yours 1/29/21 to attack those heavy oil conditions!

I have my 900 Global Reality at 40 x 4 1/4 x 35. The S84 Response Solid cover is the strongest cover to date in the 900 Global line. It sees the mid lane, but retains an astonishing amount of energy, which creates a very strong a distinguishable move towards the pocket. This gives me the option to move left, and open up the lane much easier than with most solid bowling balls. Look for my ball review video on YouTube, where I compare it to the 900 Global Aspect, I have the Reality both overall stronger, and more angular than the Aspect. Strong defined breakpoint and continuous This is a very strong ball. I feel this ball is as strong as a Proton Physix, UFO or the original Volatility. But, it has a different shape than all these. The Reality is a super heavy rolling ball that has a more defined breakpoint, changes direction quicker, and reacts faster to dry boards on the lane. It absolutely needs some oil to get down the lane. I felt like I could open my angles up more with the Reality than the Proton Physix and it would recover a bit more from misses to the outside. The Proton Physix and original Volitility were definitely smoother overall, but they all covered a similar number of boards. This ball is at the high end of the hook scale and would be your big hook/heavy oil ball. Ron D’Ambrosio Storm Amateur Staff #StormNation #SquadRG #900Global
