900 Global Viking Review
The 900 Global Viking is the most angular ball in the lineup — Strobe AI asymmetric core on RB 90 Hybrid at $199.95. Video reviews inside.
Got no [music] regrets. I'm on the run. Chasing the check, dropping the top, riding the vet. What you expect? You know I'm with it. No better feeling cuz I could have quit but I didn't 007 when I'm [music] on a mission. Moving it up to a better position. They thought I was tripping. What's going on social media land? We're back and got the Wolverine. New Wolverine from 900 Global. Uh again, when you look at it, it kind of looks like a more of a two-part pearl. Um, and one part hybrid. Or honestly, [music] I think the origin was like a
two-part hybrid, two part solid, and one part pearl. Uh, again, just from the looks, right? Like the the the purple, not the purple, the purple looks solid, and then the silver or carbon and like the orange color are very shimmery. Uh, so yeah, expect to be a little bit cleaner. I've thrown it a little bit. Um, literally I tried to like record a video and the lanes just like were not good. So I was like, uh, we need fresh fresh everything fresh. So that's what we have here. Um, and I got that, the
ember, and the Brunswick Energize, right? Which is another big hybrid. So I want to see just how strong or how weak this ball really is. Um, so yeah, that's what we're going to check out today. So, I definitely again I expect to be stronger than the ember, but you know, probably a step down from the Energize, but let's see. Let's see what we get, guys. Um, as always, man, hit the like, subscribe. I appreciate it. And then get to 12bagger.com, man. Nice little polo, little everyday polo. I kind of I wear this to work sometime. Uh, but yeah, sometime, you know, you don't want as,
you know, outrageous things. Um, but yeah, this this one in particular, again, link will be below. Link will be below. Uh, and this one runs a little bit snugger, right? So, I went up in size uh for my normal size. So, again, they run a little snugger. Just something to let you know. Uh, but yeah, everything else.com shoes I'm rocking today or the pinks, the pink KR Plus. Had to break them out again. Um, yeah. Get to the links.
All right. So, again, like I said, fresh house shot. do it like very forward. But yeah, we saw that ball. You know, I need to get around it, of course. But yeah, first shot. First shot don't count. Definitely some oil on the way. Definitely some oil. So, I'm going to move to the right off that last shot.
Oh, plenty of oil. Plenty of oil. You know, typically I do that in that 100 ft, but maybe, you know, I'm at a bolero center, so maybe they put the blue oil out today cuz definitely feels slick. Oh, there we got some movement though. All right. Okay. And I haven't adjusted the service on this ball at all. This is
out of the box. It's the power edge finish. Uh so yeah, we're going to see. But yeah, it's coming back with plenty of oil on this ball right now. So So I'm going cheat just a little bit. Closer to 20 now. Give her a little bit of room. Mhm. Oh, we getting a little motion. A little motion motion. All right, let's see if we can rock with this for a little minute.
Oh, so no. Yeah, lanes ain't open up that quickly. Sometimes, you know, you get that vibe that you can do that. Um, but it might just be some out of bounds as well. So, we're going to going to test that theory here in a moment. cuz I think we go to pick up energize. We're going to see a little bit earlier of a ball motion because again, I think that cover core combo is a little bit more. But just not going to try to leak this ball as far to the right.
Right. So, it's feeling pretty good. Like it's feeling almost equinoxesque, right? Like I'm getting that vibe like where at a box that Equinox was like really kind of smooth, but this feels like a maybe a smidge more responsive. All right, let's toss another one. Yeah. So, yeah, man. Like it's a cleaner
ball. Definitely keep my speed down. Play to the right. Like if I just play to the right, I can throw a little bit faster. Uh but trying to open the lane up right now with what I'm seeing, no bueno. Let's go. Energize. Energizer bunny. Yeah. Energize again. Little bigger ball. Again, cover-wise, definitely feel stronger.
So, this could be another one of them situations where, again, they wanted this to slot under some of their bigger, you know, asymmetric pearls. You know, they didn't need it to be, you know, a hyperdrive. You know, they didn't need it to be a gremlin, which I honestly feel like this probably like more comparable to a gremlin. Throw one more with energize. All right. And again, I'm on 25 right now with my feet.
Out of bounds. Definitely from for my folks that like, "Oh, Charles, you always swing the lane." This is the video for you, man. Like, and y'all always ask me to stay to the right. This is this is it today. And the ball is laid out again. 60 60 by 5 by 30. So, a little more up the boards today. And it's because again the lanes allow it.
Oh, the messenger did me dirty right there. But I take what the lanes give me, guys. Like when I go to league, I go to a tournament, I try every zone, you know, on a lane. Um, and typically when I bowling at a lot of house shots, playing up the boards, this really isn't an option for me because typically the ball gets to start to hook off my hand almost. When I drop it directly into friction, I roll the ball pretty good. Like that is a problem. But if you're needing some shammies, you
still got them. Go ahead and pick you up one. Got four four different colors or versions. Mhm. Bang. So the ember like this last shiny ball I believe they came out with uh before this one. So I expect this one to be even cleaner. Again, I'm staying on 20 right now.
Yep. Yep. Honestly, in this situation, you need like one of the their solids or even like the Cove, right? That has a little more surface on the cover that'll pick up a little bit quicker cuz both of these are definitely getting down the lane. But with a bigger engine and a Viking, that one's still tipping the corner when I'm a lot straighter. I'm going move further. I'm move to 15 with my feet
too direct. So got to give it a little more, you know, shape to the right, right? A little more angle that way. I did it like and it just picked up. Oh, but yeah, Ember is clean. Ember is a clean bowling ball. Definitely needs some friction. And right now we have oil. Yeah. So definitely again more up the boards. Looks fine. Uh, but I would say
probably like a four to five board difference what I'm seeing. [music] It's maybe more right on friction, but things get muddier the more you go and start comparing to friction. Sorry about the screaming. I can't really help it. Kids are in there in the arcade playing. I know the last video just had bunch of kids losing their minds in the background. I'm going stand on 15 just like the previous shot with the ember.
it. I saw it actually kind of straighten out because it ran into the friction. See the core like you said just kind of locked up. Bigger core. That's what happens when you run into more friction. But let's move back to 25. Oh man. We seen a good amount of change of direction. I'm not going to lie. Like that was pretty that was pretty fun.
>> All right, we saw that one hook a bit. Keep it in the oil. Oh, buddy. Now we talking. Now we talking again. Transition the lanes just a pinch. And now we looking pretty good. I'm going to cheat just a little bit. Oh, buddy.
Oh, buddy. Okay, I'm feel energized now just cuz we just saw that. And again, I want to see is it [music] the lane's transitioning and does this one look even earlier and maybe even smoother or it looks more aggressive. All right, cheating to getting about 27 on my feet. Oh buddy. Oh buddy. Sometimes you can
get lucky. Sometimes it's nice to get lucky. But um yeah, I throw that like super far to the right. Let me keep it in a little bit and see if this ball cuz we know all of them have struggled when I too wide. First 10 shots here. Mhm. Not really first 10, but we're going to do 10 shots for this video. Uh, it's uh lane starting to open up a little bit and I'm liking it. So, we're going to
keep it going. Moved a little right off that last shot. All right. So, that looks excellent. And yeah, I don't really got much else to say. Again, cleaner ball. Definitely doesn't feel like an erratic like the hyperdrive. I felt like out of box when there was still decent amount of oil on the lane was a little more erratic. This
I'm not getting that. So, right now, again, I'm standing like on 24 with my feet. Oh. I say that then it does that. You know, sometimes it's just better not to talk, but it make for a very boring video. Oh, please hook. Oh, yeah. That's nice.
That is nice. It's nice. Be nice. Oh, layoff. Oh, I need to hook more. Oh, got a little behind it. I think that's like five, I think. Oh, buddy. That got bad. Yeah. Miss way left, right. Nothing to do with the ball.
All right, we going to execute all of these last shots. that should be good. All right, so again, definitely feels somewhere in between, you know, like a hyperdrive and I'm like I can't remember what's the big one for Storm Equinox. I guess the only one and we're all hoping for like a ion max pearl situation. Just waiting on that. Maybe maybe that's a new year
ball. I don't know. possibly. No kick. No kick. So again, definitely out of bounds. It's there.
Oh Two. Two. Two. That should be good. Yeah, buddy. All right. There's plenty of shots for you guys. Hopefully, you're able to make a decision and you're able to see kind of how this ball stacks up with some of the other ballots currently on the market. Um, this is definitely, again, if you had a harsh reality pro, this doesn't feel like that. Like, this feels like a clear, you know, step down.
If you had a Origin, original Origin, I feel like this has a little more pop where that one gave you a little more roll. My initial thoughts. Um, so yeah, good compliment. If you are strictly a global person, this fits into a slot that they don't really have. So, till next time. >> [music and singing] >> I'mma keep them groove. You sleeping on
me, just keep snoozing. >> I'm so [music] locked in [singing] right now. Everything I
Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed the 900 Global Viking to be a notably balanced and controllable asymmetric that performs well across a range of medium to medium-heavy oil conditions. On the Kegel Chromium pattern at 15 lbs, independent reviewers observed a cleaner, more continuous reaction compared to its predecessor, the Origin. The RB90 hybrid cover—polished from the factory with the shine lightly broken—generated consistent length down the lane while maintaining responsiveness without excessive sharpness on the backend. The asymmetric core (251 RG, 0.52 differential) supported the overall stability, resisting the hook-stopping tendency some asymmetrics exhibit. Notably, the ball’s behavior differed between testing with different rev rates and speeds; it performed smoothly for moderate-speed bowlers while requiring some adjustment for higher-speed players throwing from deep angles on the fresh oil.
The Viking distinguished itself as a versatile mid-transition ball that responds well to hand position and speed changes. Comparisons to the Origin showed the Viking to be “more mellow” and “easier down the lane,” offering broader applicability across fresh and transitional patterns without the dramatic, sometimes uncontrollable reaction of its stronger predecessor. Testing also highlighted performance against the Gremlin, revealing the Viking’s stronger cover creates earlier friction, causing it to “slow down” naturally—a characteristic that provides more continuous motion but requires bowlers with very clean releases to help the ball from deeper starting positions. The polished factory surface proved capable of succeeding on both fresh and transition conditions with minimal adjustment, making it a practical choice for bowlers seeking a single strong ball that doesn’t demand precision lane reading.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Viking is ideally suited for intermediate to advanced bowlers who throw with matched rev and speed rates and need a dependable ball that works across multiple oil conditions without requiring constant surface adjustments. It will appeal to tournament and league bowlers seeking a first step down from heavier, more angular asymmetrics—those who find balls like the Origin too sharp or unpredictable but need more control than pure pearl covers provide. The ball’s forgiving nature and continuous motion make it equally valuable for bowlers who experience carrydown issues with sharper asymmetrics or who struggle with hook-stopping on backend-heavy reactions.
However, the Viking is not the right choice for everyone. Very high-speed, low-rev combinations will find it too much ball, while slower-speed, high-rev players may find the polished hybrid cover too clean and slow to generate the angular backend motion they need. Bowlers who already struggle with nine-pin leaves (eight-pin for lefties) from around-the-ball releases should avoid this asymmetric, as its continuous motion will exacerbate that issue. At $199.95, it occupies the premium price tier and delivers best value for bowlers ready to move beyond entry-level equipment into a workhorse ball that handles fresh, transitioned, and medium-heavy house shots with minimal fuss.

Bowlers Say
Bowlers say the Viking excels as a transition ball with clean length through the front, strong midlane read, and controlled backend motion. Many praise its versatility and predictable angular shape that works well when lanes break down and angles need to open up. Some find it needs surface adjustment out of box for their conditions.

Bowlers frequently mention:
The 900 Global Viking pairs the RB 90 Hybrid Reactive coverstock with the new Strobe A.I. asymmetric core, finished with the Power Edge factory surface. That combination gives you a ball that clears the fronts noticeably cleaner than the 900 Global Origin, yet responds harder and faster when it encounters friction. Compared to the Origin, the Viking is quicker off the spot and more angular, while the Origin itself is a bit stronger overall and more forward in its downlane motion. In terms of shape, the Viking closely resembles the Storm Hyperdrive Pearl with its clean front-to-back look and fast response, but the Viking is stronger, offering a heavier midlane read and more overall hook. Unlike any other storm ball i have seen. This ball is big core but the cover is so clean that it allows me to keep straight angles through he fronts even on burnt conditions. This ball will be my go to when house shots get cliffed
The 900 Global Viking is here, and let’s just say—this ball doesn’t come to play. It comes to conquer. Designed for medium to heavy oil, the Viking blends a strong mid-lane read with a surprisingly smooth and controlled move downlane. Think of it as your personal lane-raiding warrior… minus the beard and battle axe. The Viking Hybrid coverstock offers a clean glide through the front part of the lane, followed by a strong, predictable backend that doesn’t quit early. It’s ideal for bowlers who want power, control, and just enough aggression to remind the pins who’s in charge. The core revs up quickly, giving you a stable, confident motion that stays consistent even when the transition gets tricky. No wild, unexpected lunges—just that steady “I’ve got this” energy you wish your teammates had during league night. Who’s it for? Anyone looking for a reliable benchmark ball that hits harder than a Viking after someone stole their horn of mead. Whether you’re a speed-dominant bowler needing mid-lane read or a rev-dominant bowler wanting a clean but strong motion, this ball checks all the boxes. In short: Clean through the heads Predictable mid-lane read Strong, controlled backend Hits the pins like it’s settling an ancient Nordic score If you’re searching for a ball that’s powerful, dependable, and just a little bit intimidating, the 900 Global Viking is ready to join your arsenal—and it promises not to pillage your pocketbook too badly.
The Viking for me is the best trasition ball that I had since a long time. It perfectly read the middle part of the lane but continu with a big hit on the pins. I can also play straighter or really at the exterior just with my hand position and speed and it continu to be good. I drilled mine 55x5x50. I think that it will can adapted to many kind of bowler's pitch. Another GREAT product from 900 Global. #strikingworldwide https://youtu.be/0GEniI4tU1k?si=55SDWF7l0-08OzCv
The 900 Global Viking feels like a smoother, more controlled step down from the Reality-based Origin line—still strong and predictable, but without that heavy midlane grab the Origin is known for. The S90 Hybrid Reactive cover gives it that clean, easy glide through the heads that I don’t always get with the solid covers in the Origin, and the Viking core just rolls in a way that feels earlier and rounder without ever jerking off the spot. It’s one of those pieces I can pull out when the lanes start transitioning and the Origin becomes a little too much; the Viking lets me stay in the same part of the lane with a shape that blends out wet/dry while keeping a really usable, continuous motion. It’s a versatile complement, giving me a different cover/core combo that fits perfectly when I need something cleaner but still trustworthy. Go out and get yours!
