hey what's up motive Nation I'm Andrew Anderson today we're going to take a look at the brand new Raptor [Music] Fury
the new Raptor Fury has a combination of the Affliction B2 core with the leverage xfs cover stock and what you're going to really see out of this ball is a smoother motion similar to that in the Jack Ambush but it's going to have more continuation it fits on the ball chart right between the Jackal Ambush and a jackal ghost and that's what we're going to show you today all right motiv Nation so we're going to compare the Raptor Fury to the Jackal ghost and Jackal Ambush as on the ball guide this ball will fill right in
between so what I really expect is after I get lined up with the Raptor Fury I'll probably have to go a couple boards right with the Ambush to get a similar type ball motion as that ball is smoother and I'll probably have to go a few boards left with the ghost as that ball is a little more angular so let's see what we got for this first shot I'm going to stand around 28 all right so that one looked really good
right so what are we going to get out of the other two we're about to find out all layouts are the same this is my favorite layout when it comes to the stronger bowling balls it's 5 and 1 half for my Axis we can get into the numbers of it for those of you that do dual angle it is 55x 5 1/2 by 35 so Ambush next so I stood on 28 so I'm going to stand on 25 for this one
okay so that actually hooked a little more than I was expecting I did grab a mid pull so uh you know what I really see between those two is that that one does roll faster and it should it's a bigger core and a bigger cover um so I probably wouldn't be starting on some longer patterns with the fury if the Ambush is hooking that much uh so to the ghost we are going to go a few left of where I started so I started in 28 so I'm going to stand
31 yeah so I mean from a migration standpoint you can get much better I do think the Ambush hooked a little more than I expected and it could be the core but I did think it hooked much earlier so from a ball motion standpoint a little smoother than the fury as the fury had more continuation but uh great three ball combo for those of you that like to throw the stronger stuff in our line you got a you got a great setup all right motive Nation so we're going to compare the Raptor Fury Jackal ghost and Jackal Ambush Now by standing in the same spot I'm going to get lined up with the fury and then throw the other two M
malls exactly where the fury strikes and we're going to see where we get I'm going to stand at 28 for this first one okay so we're lined up right with the Jackal Fury and what I really expect to see now standing in the same spot with these Bing balls is that the Ambush
could two pin here because it's going to get a little smooth it could flat 10 by being a little smooth um generally speaking the stronger the ball when you move a little too far left it'll get behind the head bin okay so the Ambush did strike but if you notice ball motion I felt like that one read way faster right and it got a little more forward down the lane so if I was to miss a left into the oil there
it may not have continued as much now to the ghost I really expect this ghost on the shot to 3610 of some sort possibly big four and you see where we at with 3610 it's uh I bowled enough now that I can kind of call my shot right and when you know you're Bing equipment enough you should know ball to ball what's really
going to happen and um you know I'm going to have to move a few lefts with that to strike but uh great three ball combo I mean I know what I'm getting and um I'm confident in [Music] it
Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed that the Motiv Raptor Fury positions itself as a bridge piece between two established competitors in the medium-heavy oil category. On the test pattern, independent reviewers observed the Raptor Fury delivering smoother motion than the Jackal Ghost while maintaining notably more continuation than the Jackal Ambush. When bowlers stood in the same spot across all three balls, the Raptor Fury struck with consistent, controlled angular motion—neither over-reading the midlanes like the Ambush nor requiring aggressive board movement like the Ghost. The ball’s combination of the Affliction B2 core with the Leverage XFS coverstock produced a predictable backend motion that made lineup adjustments intuitive: reviewers typically needed to move only a couple boards right compared to the Ambush, and a few boards left compared to the Ghost.
The Raptor Fury’s performance characteristics make it particularly valuable for bowlers who need controlled motion on longer oil patterns without sacrificing continuation. Testing showed the ball reads the midlanes smoothly before making a defined move into the pins, providing the kind of predictable arc that builds confidence. Notably, reviewers found the Ambush hooked earlier than expected on the same layout, suggesting the Raptor Fury offers a more controlled pace down the boards. The consistent strike location across multiple shots demonstrated that this ball responds reliably to small adjustments, making it easier for bowlers to dial in their line without chasing drastic equipment changes.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Raptor Fury is built for bowlers who throw in medium-heavy oil conditions and want a ball that bridges the gap between smoother, more controlled motion and earlier-reading backends. Bowlers currently choosing between the Ambush and Ghost will find this a natural fit—particularly those who prefer a ball that handles oil without over-reading too early, while still providing enough continuation to finish through the pins on fresh or mid-pattern conditions. The predictable motion also suits bowlers who value consistency and prefer making small board adjustments rather than dealing with erratic ball behavior.
This ball works best for players with moderate to higher rev rates who need a reliable workhorse for league and tournament play on medium to heavy patterns. If you’re the type of bowler who understands your equipment and likes having a three-ball setup for varied oil patterns, the Raptor Fury fills a genuine gap in the arsenal. It’s less ideal for dry lane bowlers or those primarily throwing shorter patterns where this core-cover combination might over-hook, but for anyone playing medium-heavy oil as their primary condition, it delivers the kind of dependable performance that builds confidence week after week.
The Pros
- • Affliction V2 core with .055 differential delivers the same power as the Raptor Rush but with earlier read from the solid coverstock
- • Leverage Reactive solid at 2000 grit grabs the midlane and produces a strong, continuous arc to the pocket
- • Excellent pin carry — the rolling entry angle from the earlier hook keeps the ball driving through the entire deck
- • Pairs perfectly with the pearl Raptor Rush for a complete symmetric medium-heavy oil approach
The Cons
- • Solid coverstock at 2000 grit will hook early on drier conditions — limited to medium-heavy and heavier
- • Aggressive surface may require frequent maintenance to maintain consistent reaction

K. Matthew Byrd (Motiv Staffer) Hand: Right-Handed Ball Weight: 15 lbs. Rev Rate: 500 RPM Ball Speed: 18 Mph Tilt: 10 Rotation: 45 PAP: 5.125” over and .125” up Layout: 55 x 5 1/2 x 35 (Dual Angle) The brand-new Raptor Fury features the new Leverage XFS coverstock and the Affliction V2 core. This ball in my bag is a stronger benchmark ball. It reminds me of my Venom Shock but on steroids. It has the predictability that the Venom Shock has but is built for heavier volume of oil. The Raptor Fury is more than likely the first ball out of my bag to see what the lanes are doing. With this layout it does not dig in the oil super early and makes it even more versatile for me. With the Affliction V2 core I can play a smaller angle or really open the lanes, knowing that the new Raptor Fury with the Affliction V2 core will make it around the corner. This Raptor Fury will go with me to all my tournaments and regular league play. This Raptor Fury is a keeper and must have in any bowler bag.

I was very surprised how much I ended up liking the Raptor Fury. I was excited for a strong solid symmetrical piece, but truly amazed at just how strong, and still how controllable this piece is. It now sits in the top spot of my arsenal. I get some of the best pin action and carry with this ball. The Raptor Fury is incredibly strong, without sacrificing control or consistency, which makes it a very dangerous weapon out on the lanes.
As always excellent people to deal with and quick shipments. A+ sellers and should be on anyone's list.
