[Music] Change [Music] >> like that. [Music] >> Got no regrets. I'm on the run. Chasing the check. Dropping the top, riding the vet. What you expect? You know I'm with it. No better feeling cuz I could have quit but I didn't. When I'm on a mission, moving it up to a better position. They thought I was. >> All right. So, everybody requested Hyperdrive Pearl and a Black Widow Mania. That was the main one. And of
course, the better comparison, right, was a Hammer Effect. But again, Mania's new hotness hammer effect is a little older piece. So, that's what we're going to do. We got both of these bowling balls. Both, you know, this one has been refinished and polished again. So, apples to apples and then we have a house shot. So, we going to have a little fun, man. Hopefully, we do some striking again. It's a little open. I threw the maximum
effect on it before that and the paragon shadow for a little bit. Um, so should have a little transition, but both of these balls I expect the boomerang quite a bit. So, probably going to end up being a little left. I could be wrong or >> I might not. But anyway, get to boltsmart.com links everything below. Again, the the incentive, right, is going through the link and anything you purchase through the link, right, I get 5%, you know, kickback on like like months after the fact, but that's here
or there, right? It's a little 5% that helps the channel. Um, continue doing different things and sometime I I will do a second bowling ball and do a different layout. That's a lot of that stuff where it goes to. and then trying out different merch like we have today. You know, the push harder. Your only limit is yourself. Uh yeah, man. That's really the truth, man. And we live in a very interesting time. Not another time for a rant for me. But man, focus on building
up the community, man. Positively speak life into people. Don't speak down to people even if they don't see things your way. just my thoughts and I'mma really leave it at that man because I don't want any of you know all this different political stuff you know coming on here where this is a peaceful space where again kids watch this right and there's just a wide variety of people that watch and so I'm not here to tell you to do one thing or the other but I'm saying be a good person be a good neighbor um and look out for each other you know back in the good old days
right you knew your neighbor next next door right you had dinner and lunches with people next door so you You know, that is one particular aspect, right, where we were more community based and we loved each other. We cared about the kids and we wanted to see everybody succeed and that is that's it. Let's get to the lanes, man. We here for Hyperdrive Pearl, Black Widow Mania. Which one do y'all like, man? All right. Start with the new boy Hyperdrive Pearl. Big boommy back end from what I've seen.
Boom. >> So definitely still the house shot has been playing with a little bit of out of bounds and again I don't have anybody on the lane with me playing up the boards. But I want to see again what we're going to get from this.
Oh my goodness. I moved to the right less than less than I did. But you saw it skid. We got a good amount of length out of this ball. So, I'm going to throw one more. I'm going to stay in that same spot with my feet. Stay in the same spot with my feet again around 20 and see if we can't get this ball to get a little more higher flush. Add a little more speed to it.
>> Yeah, I Execution wise, not the best. But yeah, I think I got a little steep, little little chest got a little in front of my knees on that last shot. And the only reason I'm explaining that is because some people do similar things, right, when they miss. So, not making an excuse, but just explaining the situation.
Better shot. Yes. All right, we got this right. Let's try the Mania. Exactly that same spot. Early prediction is it might go longer. All right. I want to say that was not the ball. It might have been a ball. I don't know. I'm going to throw another shot, though.
Ah. All right. So, we're going to relax. All right. Now, we're going to execute. Take a little bit longer on our approach. Try to get my mind right and look at my target. Yeah. So, definitely doesn't feel like uh as strong of a cover in relation to
this Hyperdrive Pro because it's just skidding. Like, it's not nearly getting to a roll nearly as fast um as what I was seeing from the Hyperdrive. All right. So, that out of bounds, I think I need to move off of it a little bit. So, I'm going to cheat a little left just to get away from the out of bounds. So, reason why I did that, right? Just
get a little more angle and again give this ball room. We've seen it jump left, but I can't be completely on top of it or it's going to skid forever. So, just move it in. Get away from out of bounds. Do the same thing. Hyperdrive furl. Oh yeah, that ball feels almost just as rapid. So, I think we're going to find a little more success once we open our lanes all the way up.
But let me let me take a little hand out the ball. Take a little hand out the ball and see if we can't get this a little further to the right angle to work. I'm going move all the way again. 15 even further to the right. It's struck. That's not how we drew it up.
Yep. So again, part of some of my struggle for sure is getting that way completely changing the hand release. Then I shoot it straight up the lane. Then it has nothing on it. Got to be direct. All right. Jumping to the left. 25 hyperdrive. Oh my goodness.
>> High is all you can say. See, I throw the ball a little bit harder. Same same spot. There we go. So, both of them got a need for speed. Think on both of them. Don't let off the gas. These balls hook quite a bit. Same spot with the Widow. Getting 25. Looking to get this ball pretty close to still about about five down lane about 56.
So, widows are kind of known for their continuation and think this is no different. No different. >> So, one more. We're going to throw two and two miss left that ball. I think it was just again much cleaner. I don't say much, right? But it definitely feels cleaner. Definitely the cover stockwise
definitely has to be a step down in relation to a hyperdrive. I honestly believe this hyperdrive is strong enough to kind of push through a little bit out of bounds like that. So, I don't know if the Widow is going to allow us the same area. Not sure, but we're going to try. Yeah. And Phil always say, "If you can't repeat the shot, did it really count?"
So, let me see if I can repeat that shot. >> Let's try that again. Trying my darnest.
Am I missing so bad? I'm just missing horribly, bro. I'm trying to roll it directly into that and it's just not doing it.
Nope. So, we're going to try to throw the widow. Same spot. So yeah, just just more confirmation again this strength level of each of these cover socks. Try one more time. Oh, slowed down a lot on that shot just to
see, you know, get it to get to the pins and really get off the spot, which in my opinion is like a signer sign of a weaker ball, right? It can be little over underish when you're dealing with too much oil. But I think both balls shine the best. The more I'm able to feed them, you know, get left, open the lanes up, open my angles, Just like that.
So, >> can't be mad at it. Yeah, this this Joker feels just stronger. Now, again, the layouts, right? The Mania has my typical 60x 5x30 layout where the maximum, not maximum, the hyperdrive has the 45x 4 1.5 by 40 layout. So again, just move the
pin ever so slightly, but the mass bias really shifts. So this ball really digs in and it needs oil. I feel like this has really made this ball stand up a lot sooner and I have to throw the ball a little bit harder.
Then that's going to go bigger ball. definitely feels like it's a bit more deflection where you know the widow's still a widow and you know whether it's just me not matching up with this core or not like could be the case.
So definitely again from the steeper angles I'm not loving it as much. Feel like the Widow likes a little bit more angle. Hyperdrive feel like I need to be a little bit closer to the right to get the back row out. Throw one more with the Widow. Definitely getting a cleaner ball. That's giving me a lot of the shape I like to see.
Yeah, like it just it's not nearly a feel like picking up as quickly. Um, and again, just making it easier for me to get to the pocket, you know. So, again, the lanes have some transition, but I don't feel like it's as dramatic. I don't notice as much with the Widow as I do with the hyperdrive moving to the right.
Bang. So definitely more on top of it. I got the Hyperdrive getting further left. Widow again, it just seems to give way more again forgiveness left to right. So again, the Hyperdrive Pearl has definitely been more of a struggle for me to get to the pins, like get to the pocket like cleanly, you know, it just it just has.
And so I know when I jump left with this Widow, I'm perfectly fine. playing this little in between zone is definitely needing a tour ball, you know, whether that's ion pro hammer hammer effect tour that motion again looks fine to get and
it's just RST sees that spot harder. So, and then when I move too far to the left, then it just struggles getting again through the pins. Uh, so again, it just tells me again probably should see me throwing a shiny ball anyway, but that is the the difference again. I've seen so little bit of a struggle. Um, yeah,
the pattern just not being the easiest, but we saw definitely a different motion. Hyperdrive, definitely a bigger ball, definitely cleaner with the in relation to So, we saw definitely a big difference. Hyperdrive much bigger ball earlier. Still got some kick, but I feel like from too deep a angle like it starts to run to kind of some corner pin issues where the Widow like enjoyed it, right? So, I had a little more oil in the lane.
I think the hyperdrive is going to make a little more sense. A little more friction with mania. So, there you go. Appreciate you guys, man. Hit that like subscribe button. Till next time. [Music] sleeping on me. Just keep snoozing. [Music]
Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed that the Roto Grip RST Hyperdrive Pearl delivers a noticeably aggressive backend motion on house shot conditions, generating substantial length through the oil pattern before making a dramatic move to the pocket. Independent reviewers observed the ball responding well to increased speed and angle adjustments, with the reactive pearl coverstock providing strong continuation down the lane. When positioned correctly—closer to the boards rather than deep in the oil—the Hyperdrive Pearl demonstrated clean, predictable arcing motion and consistent pin carry. The asymmetric core proved effective at driving through the midlane, though the ball’s strong overall package required precise execution and proper speed control to avoid deflection issues.
On the test pattern, comparison against established benchmarks like the Black Widow Mania highlighted the Hyperdrive Pearl’s more aggressive coverstock characteristics. Where the Widow offered forgiveness across a wider range of angles and release variations, the Hyperdrive demanded tighter shot-making but rewarded committed throws with sharper angular movement. Testing showed the ball particularly excelled when bowlers moved their breakpoint slightly right of center and maintained consistent velocity, minimizing the need for excessive hand adjustments. Surface refinement and polish adjustments were employed during testing, indicating that tweaking coverstock preparation could fine-tune the ball’s length and entry angle based on specific oil patterns encountered.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Hyperdrive Pearl is best suited for intermediate to advanced bowlers who have developed consistent release mechanics and comfortable throwing speeds. This ball rewards bowlers who prefer to play tighter angles closer to the dry boards rather than deep in heavy oil, and who can repeat their shots with minimal variables. It’s an excellent choice for bowlers moving up from beginner equipment who want an aggressive, modern asymmetric that doesn’t demand a complete game overhaul but does require responsible ball speed management.
This is also an ideal secondary or complementary piece for players who already own a smoother, more forgiving pearl or solid reactive. The Hyperdrive Pearl fills a niche in medium-heavy oil conditions where modest length and strong backend reaction matter more than versatility. Bowlers in houses with moderately slick lanes will find this ball particularly rewarding, especially those who enjoy the challenge of precision shot-making over relying on high-tolerance equipment. At $189.95, it represents a reasonable investment for serious house bowlers looking to expand their arsenal with a ball that delivers strong results when matched with proper technique and lane positioning.

This ball is a perfect representation of that old school clean skid flippy ball that storm is known for. reminds me of the astro physix but better.

No surprises its the pearl version of the very successful RST Hyperdrive. The RST X2 was a favorite of not only mine but many bowlers so I feel as though many of us were waiting for this one. The Hyperdrive Pearl again features the RST BLOCK + A.I. CORE TECHNOLOGY this time surrounded by a new clean pearl cover called UR1. No nano in this one its just a pure pearl. I tested the RST Hyperdrive Pearl on our 44 ft house pattern. I've mentioned in basically every review that our front panels hook a lot, so I was excited for a new pearl without nano additive. The test lane had been dressed before a morning senior league and I found it in transition. The Hyperdrive Pearl didn't have any issues clearing the front of the lane. It had a nice consistant move in the middle of the lane, rolling very nicely off the back-end of the pattern. It wasn't a super sharp motion, but definitely not slow either. I was pretty happy with how predictable it was. It didn't give me catastrophic results from small misses, which is welcome on a 12-1 pattern. I stayed in the hyperdrive for a few games. I had to do a little manipulation with my hand as I moved left, but no more than i would have expected to with any other ball, and far less than with some of them. I threw the Origin and Attention Star S2 at the same time. These turned out to be good choices for comparison as all three had pretty similar layouts. I could strike with all three in the same place but they had distinct motions down-lane. I felt I was pretty much as the limit of where the S2 would keep going through the pins and the Origin was a little more responsive so i had to be a little more careful with my speed. The Hyperdrive Pearl will be a popular ball this year I think. It's continuation and reliability should keep it in play on a variety of patterns. With the success of the RST Hyperdrive Solid, it was time for an upgrade. Introducing Roto Grips newest addition to the HP4 line, the RST Hyperdrive Pearl! This new asymmetrical ball is featured with the same RST A.I. core found in the Hyperdrive Solid and is introduced with a brand-new pearl cover stock known as the U-R1. Finished with Power Edge technology, the RST Hyperdrive Pearl generates the combination of the Core and Cover to allow the ball to push through the front part of the lane with ease, while providing a strong, responsive, and continuous move at the breakpoint to allow its energy to finish with great results! Ball layout: 70 x 5 3/8 x 40 and comparison to both my Gremlin and Rockstar (same layout applied). Bowling at my home center of Hudson Lanes, in Cortlandt Manor, NY on its 43ft THS, I was quite impressed with the ball motion the RST Hyperdrive Pearl can create. Very clean, very controllable on the backend part of the lanes. This ball can be a first game out of the bag, depending on the amount of oil and friction you get. With my rev rate around 400-450, I can migrate right to left with ease and not worry about the ball over hooking once it goes into the friction. In comparison, the Hyperdrive Pearl tends to be a little cleaner than the Gremlin, whereas the Rockstar and Hyperdrive Solid read the lanes earlier than expected. The Hyperdrive Pearl is best fit for attacking medium/heavy lane conditions. Be sure to stop by your local Storm VIP Pro Shop today and drill up a RST Hyperdrive Pearl! Thomas Coco (Storm Staffer)
Cover: U-R1 Pearl Reactive Core: RST + A.I. RG: 2.52 RG. Diff.: 0.055 Finish: Power Edge Roto Grip’s new RST Hyperdrive Pearl is a Pearl Asymmetrical piece that is good for Medium-Heavy Volume patterns. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Rev Rate: 400. Speed: 16.5. Drilled this piece with the Pin up between the fingers, CG kicked out 1” from the palm, and 1” Left of the Mass Bias. I threw this piece on a Left Over House pattern. Out of Box ball motion started in the mids with a sharp backend reaction through the pins. I compared this to the RST Hyperdrive, Attention Star, and Gremlin. RST Hyperdrive 2-2 Right. Started earlier in the Mids with a smooth-strong backend reaction. Attention Star 1-1 Right. Clean through the fronts with a sharp backend motion. Gremlin is 2-2 Right. Similar shape but has a smoother backend reaction. This piece is good on medium patterns. And will be good for all types of bowlers. The layout is 50 x 4 1/2 x 30 (4 1/2 x 4 1/4 x 1 7/8 using the Vector Layout System. This ball is a great compliment to the RST Hyperdrive Solid. Provides me great length through the fronts, excellent downlane motion and consistent continuation through the pins. The RST Hyperdrive Pearl allows you to move in deeper, send it to the friction, and can trust that it will come back. Or if you like to play straighter, this ball will allow you to play in the friction just a little bit longer. After knocking some of the shine off, this is my favorite asymmetrical pearl in my bag right now! Grab this RST Hyperdrive Pearl… you will not be disappointed!
