The X-3 is the newest HP4 ball in Roto Grips line. This ball is a hybrid coverstock similar to the RST X-1 that was released a couple of years ago. This ball gives me good length along with a quick response off of friction. This ball is going to be a great step down from a Roto Grip Gem and a great step up from something like an RST X-2. Throwing this ball on a house shot what I found is that this ball would be somewhat clean through the fronts and gives a quick jump off the friction. This is going to be a ball that you will be able to get left and throw it at the spot. Compared to the Reality Check I found this ball to be a couple boards more but not as round as the Check. I did also polish this ball and gave me a better look on what I was throwing on. The polish allowed it to be about 2 feet longer and gave a more continuous shape. This is going to be a good ball for speed dominate players and also for people who like to hook the lane.

The new RST X3 has been great for me in the first week having the ball. Sport shot league and a PBA Regional has really given me great ball reactions to help me score well. I put it to 1000 grit abralon to give me a ball for the fresh that is cleaner then the Reality but can still dig into the midlane when there is more volume. Even though the RST X3 is a hybrid with two parts pearl, it does not act like a pearl type hybrid at all. Even at the box finish, the X3 hooks a lot sooner then the X2 and is more down lane then the X1. At the 1000 grit finish, it would be best used on heavier oil and longer oil patterns.
Test Pattern: PBA Don Carter Pattern
At 1000 grit abralon surface, I saw a lot of front hook and strong midlane read while still continuing well down lane. What I like the most about it, is how consistent the ball reaction is. Whether I am playing up the lane on the fresh or more left to right, I saw the same continuation which allowed me to stay using the ball for multiple games which for me is very tough for a 1000 grit ball. As the lanes broke down, I was able to play 4th arrow with ease as long as I projected the ball to the 2nd arrow. Throwing this ball up the lane wants to hook pretty soon which will make it a great fresh ball if you are in the market.
House Pattern Test:
At the 4k fast finish surface, this ball should be really good on the fresh as well as the first transition for most house patterns and your style. If the X3 is too strong for the fresh, definitely bring the ball to a 2000 grit surface and then use Storm reacta shine to give you a more traditional skid/flip reaction. I would use your favorite ball drilling for the best results!

Roto Grips newest high performance bowling ball is the brand new RST X3! This RST features the MicroTrax Hybrid Coverstock wrapped around the RST Core (Roto Star Tour Core)
My RST X3 is drilled pin over my bridge with the mass bias by my thumb! This RST with it being a hybrid is a smoother than the RST X2 but more downlane than the original RST X1! Sometimes the X1 is to early and the X2 is to quick downlane this is where the new X3 will come into play and fit that gap amazing! Definitely will be in my bag for the heavier lane conditions!

The Roto Grip RST-X3 features the Micro Trak Hybrid Reactive cover, Roto Star Tour core, and comes at a 4-k fast finish. The X3 is the third ball in this line following the RST-X1 and RST-X2. Compared to both of those, the X3 feels like the strongest in the line and one of the strongest in the SPI catalog. The RST-X1 was strong but more of a controlled shape and the X2 is clean with more punch down lane. Now the X3 feels earlier and harder off the spot compared to those two balls. The shape is different as it gets the spot, goes left (like someone kicked it), and doesn't stop. The X3 forces me into the 4th/5th arrow on my house shot and sometimes it is just too much. I did get a chance to throw this ball on the challenge pattern "Great Wall of China/48ft" and it looked amazing. For me, this ball is going to require heavier oil and I think this ball will be good for speed dominant bowlers and lower revs players who need a ball that is going to hook.

Hey Y'all.. Stefanie Johnson here.. well all I can say about this ball is WOW its a beast. I am about to open up my angles with this ball both on the fresh and the burn. The yellow coloring trips me up a little bit but all of them of course are made a little differently :) I am a big fan!!

The RST X-3 features the MicroTrax hybrid cover at a 4K Fast surface, and is 2 parts pearl and 1 part hybrid. The RST or Roto Star Tour core comes in at a 2.53 RG, a .053 differential, and a .016 intermediate differential in 15 pounds. The combination is fairly wild considering that the X3 shares absolutely no similarity with the X1, which had the exact same cover formula and was also a hybrid, but was 2 parts SOLID and 1 part PEARL rather than the other way around, and the difference on paper is completely negligible. The X1 was much longer, a bit sharper, and a rounder shape. The X3 is very heavy rolling, chuggy, and early, but also manages a lot of shape, so it’s a very strong ball that also covers a lot of boards. It’s somewhat directional though, so you have a lot of control over the shape. If you want it to stop and go forward, it will, and if you want to get it to chase the 7 pin off the deck (for righties), you can get it to do that too. The downside is that the combination of the extreme strength and shape doesn’t put it in play on many conditions for most bowlers. However, on the flip side, if you have trouble with getting ball motion and/or shape, if this ball doesn’t help you in the strength and power department, I don’t know what will.

The RST X-3 is the newest HP4 line ball ball from Roto Grip. It has the proven RST Core and a version of MircoTrax Hybrid cover. I drilled mine 5.5 x 5 x 5 and after throwing this ball for awhile I completely fell in love with the shape this ball gave me. With the higher RG on this ball and the Fast 4K this ball did get down lane pretty easily and really didn’t lose any energy going through the pins. Also when I did miss in the oil with this ball it didn’t push too far, it still dug in and give me plenty of giddy up through the pins. Compared to my Infinite Physix which is drilled very similar, the RST was a bit cleaner and more angular down lane. If you are looking for that perfect transition ball after the bigger hook monsters or just looking for a bigger ball to give you some length and still have some big back end motion, you’re going to want to get this RST X-3.

Wow. All i can say is wow. My first full game with it after testing it the first night i got it! Amazing. Ball placement and movement is crazy good! Love the engine on this ball! Great buy!

When I was able to throw this ball it was a beast on the lanes! For me this is going to be a game 1 ball and maybe get into game 2 but only for a few frames. It was really continuous but I couldn't get too deep with it.

The RST X-3 is the newest addition to Roto Grips HP4 line of balls. The RST X-3 has the MicroTrax Hybrid cover combined with the Roto Star Tour Core which creates a higher level torque down lane reaction. I tested the RST X-3 on a 44 feet typical house pattern, I was able to play track area and deep inside with great success. The RST X-3 is cleaner than the Gem, because of its 2.53 RG, which gives it more energy on the backend for max carrying power. This is a great ball for all levels of bowlers. The latest iteration of the RST series is the X3 which provides more of a dig in the mid lane versus the X2. The X3 is 2 part pearl 1 part solid and is designed for medium to heavier oil conditions.
Those looking for higher performance to combat heavier volume should find success with the X3. The X3 is the strongest of all the RST X line balls thus far and has been a staple in my bag since I had a chance to throw it. The nice part about this ball is the 2:1 ratio of pearl to solid as you have the opportunity to throw a stronger ball when the fronts might hook a little early which is a characteristic I see in a lot of the houses where I bowl. Due to the 2:1 nature I can still be in the stronger ball and see plenty of control, see the ball slow down enough down lane and still corner pretty hard. The X3 is suitable for all players of varying skill levels.

The RST-X3 continues a very successful line of balls from Roto Grip. Just like the RST-X1, this ball features a hybrid coverstock. Unlike the X1, however, this hybrid formula is 2 parts pearl, one part solid. This makes the RST-X3 fit in between the X1 and X2 for me. It's clean through the front and mids just like the X2, due to the pearl-heavy cover and the higher RG, but its smooth off the spot like the X1 because of the solid component in the cover. This unique clean and smooth combo gives me a hard-hitting ball with a big ball that doesn't over-read friction or dive off the back of the pattern. Go to your local pro shop and pick one up, it fits a really unique spot in the bag!

Roto Grip’s new RST X-3 is a Hybrid Asymmetrical piece that is good for Medium-Heavy lane conditions. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Drilled it with the Pin above the Bridge and the CG kicked out 1 ½â€ť and MB 1” from the Thumb. Out of Box motion was good length with continuous backend motion through the pins. I haven’t thrown the RST X-1 or X-2. I compared it to the Storm Infinite PhysiX on my YouTube Video. RST X-3 was 3-4 stronger all around than the Infinite PhysiX. RST X-3 is smooth on the backend compared to the 900 Global Reality Check. If you are looking for a strong piece this is the ball to get.

The New RST X3 from Roto grip is the 3rd ball to feature the Roto Star Tour core. They matched up the RST core with a Hybrid MicroTrax cover finished at 4k fast which allows the ball to lane-shine very quickly, giving you a reaction similar to a polished ball.
I tested the RST X3 on our 43 foot higher volume house shot. My first time out with it I tried it the 3rd game of league night. The fronts tend to go away very quickly here and it didn't take me long to see that this was the wrong time to bring the X3 Out of the bag. The X3 is very dynamic when it sees friction and the early friction caused its strong move to happen too soon.
I next tested it on a much fresher version of the house pattern. I definitely see the X3 make a big move when you get it to the dry part of the lane. It was pretty handy dealing with carry-down because it would read and set so early it took the slow back-ends out of play much more. For a ball that gives you some mid-lane read it makes a pretty quick move in a small window. I feel like on a more medium pattern with cleaner backends the angles would probably need to be fairly steep and it does need some volume at the front of the pattern. Higher speed bowlers in particular will really be able to take advantage of it's dynamic motion.

The RST X3 is the strongest ball so far in that line. The X2 is still one of my favorites, so I’m excited to be able to throw the X3 right before I pull that one out. The RST X3 has an asymmetric core, wrapped with a hybrid cover stock. So far I have seen it start up pretty early, earlier than I thought, and be very strong in the mid lane. To me it is stronger than the Reality Check and Nova, but weaker than my Reality. So it will be one of the stronger balls in my arsenal. It has already shined up after a couple games, which is going to help me get it down lane easier with my slower ball speed. I will throw the RST X3 on heavier volumes and early in tournament blocks.

The RST X-3 is a big, hybrid asymmetrical bowling ball. I have not personally thrown the X-1 or X-2, but I am a huge fan of the new X-3. I drilled mine pin above the bridge and kicked the MB 2" right. In my YoutTube video, I compared it to the Rubicon -- another big asymm. While the Rubicon was a little earlier, the X-3 was a little more clean and had plenty of energy at the back end of the lanes. I've been rolling this ball for weeks now, and it has quickly become one of my favorites out of my bag. If you're looking for a new asymmetrical ball, then the X-3 is the one you're looking for.

The Roto Grip Idol Cosmos pairs the MicroTrax hybrid coverstock with the proven RST core. The RST X3 makes a statement – on the lane and on the shelf. The colors of the coverstock are vibrant. I just like the look of it rolling down the lane. I threw it yesterday in a senior 7-game tournament the last couple games. I could play it straight and hold it up against the oil line or move in a hook it around board 15. The feel that I get is similar to the Gem but not as early rolling. The X3 saves energy in the fronts and delivers a nice back-end motion. I will put the X3 in my No. 2 slot in my 6-ball tournament bag.

Wow! This new addition to the RST lineup is a hook monster. I have become a big fan of hybrids and RST X3 is no exception. In my opinion I think this is the strongest hooking ball I have seen in a long time. The MicroTrax cover on the RST core responds very strong off the friction. The ball is smooth with a little length and a strong angular motion on the backend. This X3 hits like a truck. It picks up down lane and has strong continuation through the pins.
Even though it is strong off friction it doesn’t seem to overreact. If you need to move in and are looking for a ball to come around the corner and finish the X3 is the one! Might be the best RST yet!

The RST X-3 features the RST core along with Micro Trax Hybrid reactive coverstock. The ball comes finished at 4K fast which can be easily adjusted to achieve the reaction the bowler is looking for. When comparing the X-3 to the RST X-1, for me the X-3 starts up a little sooner than the X-1 and has stronger backend motion which allows me to open my angles a little more than I could with the X-1. This creates about 2 or 3 boards more hook than the RST X-1. When compared to the RST X-2, which in my area, was an extremely popular and successful ball, the X-3 reads the lane much sooner and has a more controlled backend. The X-3 was about 5 boards stronger than my similarly drilled X-2. This new release can definitely handle the heavier volumes of oil and still have a strong finish through the pins to create maximum pin carry. This ball is a must for the tournament bowler on the longer, trickier patterns

RST X-3
This is another release I was looking forward to. The original RST X-1 was the ball I shot my personal high series with and the X-2 has found its way to the lanes very often since drilling. On some trusted advice, we put a little polish on it. The results have been great. On THS, this ball is amazing. Clean through the front but reads the mid lane really well for me. Strong enough to use on the fresh, but doesn't force me farther left than I like. I love the shape and how it goes through the pins. On some very flat patters, it let me open the lane up when I struggled to find enough hold to get through the front, but still had enough to carry. Very exited to see how this looks in the upcoming league season.

Hey everyone, this is Storm staff member Josh Shoemaker here again with another ball review for the brand new Rotogrip RST-X3. As always, I would like to thank Storm for providing the equipment I use everytime I step out onto the lanes and I Am Bowling for making sure I always look good no matter what! Today I will be bowling on an unknown long pattern. This pattern feels medium volume and somewhere in the realm of 46-48’ in length. The X3 features the same RST core found in the previous two balls but is now wrapped in MicroTrax Hybrid. The MicroTrax hybrid cover on the X3 is two parts pearl and one part solid whereas on the X1 it was two parts solid and one part pearl. Where this may not sound like a huge difference, it’s very evident on the lanes. MicroTrax is a cover that responds very well to surface changes and has rolled well for me lane shined all the way down to 500. The X1 for me was a great ball to use when the lanes were cliffed but there wasn’t enough volume for some of the bigger and slower pieces. The X2 was night and days different from the X1. The X2 liked steep angles and tons of friction. The X3 falls perfectly in between the two and will bridge the massive gap perfectly. I see myself throwing the X3 a lot with a little bit of surface during league on the fresh or games 3-5 during a longer tournament block. Be sure to stop into your local Storm VIP pro shop and pre order your very own RST-X3 for the August 19th release!

The RST line from Roto Grip have been some of my favorites in the last couple years. The X-1 gave us a smoother, more round shape and the X-2 gave us more length with a quicker response time down lane. The third addition to the series is the X-3 and it’s just as impressive as the first two. With some brighter colors like the old Hyper Cell from several years ago, the X-3 is very noticeable while going down the lane but also while going through the pins.
The updates made in Utah have all been made to the coverstock in the new X-3. This version of the the MicroTrax Hybrid cover features a two-part pearl to along with some nano particles to create traction in oil, but still plenty of pop down-lane. From what I’ve seen, this ball is cleaner than the X-1, but earlier and stronger than the X-2. Also, with an RG of 2.53 and differential of .053, this ball is designed to be a step down from your Gem, Reality, or Infinite Physix.
I’ve drilled on X-3 so far and love it. I put the pin above my bridge and put the mass bias just to the right of my thumb. This maps out as 5 x 4.5 x 70. I also left the surface alone and just let the lane shine process happen naturally. It’s been a perfect addition to my bag and I know it’s going to be used on several different surfaces and patterns.
If you’ve had success with the “RST” series or need a ball that compliments your high performance pieces, the X-3 should be the next ball you drill.

I am not a staffer. I'm just an a little bit over average Joe. I absolutely love the rst-x2. It is easily the ball I have won the most money with and is my favorite ball of all time. The X1 is a great ball when I shoot on higher volume patterns. When I saw the reviews for the X3, I was a little concerned it'd be too strong, forcing me inside but then "wiggle" once I got there. That was not the case. I didn't even throw a shot with it before I went 500,1000, power house polish. I wanted the X3 to fit between the X1 and x2. Understanding covers, I knew that at 4k fast the X3 would overlap with the X1 more than I wanted. Even polished, I had miss room in which I didn't expect. If I'm being honest, I don't think this will get much time on the majority of house shots here in NC because centers are allergic to oil. This will see a ton of action on tough stuff though. If you had success with the other rst's I would say you should 100% get this one. Somehow, SPI is able to release nothing but gold, while not creating overlap within the catalog.

The all new Rstx-3 comes with the rst core wrapped in the micro trax hybrid reactive cover stock. The ball comes at 4k fast finish. Comparing this rstx-3 to the original rstx-1 i have the rstx-3 with more down lane motion because of the 4k fast, being that the rstx-1 was at 3000 grit. If you're looking for that big asym hybrid that has some bang off the spot, this will be the ball for you. Get to your local pro shop and drill one of these bad boys up!!

The Roto Grip RST X-3 was a ball I did not expect to this great! There is no ball in the Roto Grip line right now that is this strong. One of my all time favorite Roto Grip balls is the Critical Theory and this reminds a lot of it. Some balls you wished you still had but probably won’t work to today’s conditions and the critical theory was one but won’t have to worry anymore because this one will takes its place!
On the fresh I have it at factory 4k fast finish and this ball WHIPS down lane! Being left handed this ball wants to turn right once it hits the back end. The layout is 4.5 x 4 x 2 for me is pin over the ring and the mass bias is 2 inches away from my thumb so its a strong pin up drilling for me and matches with the ball very well.
I compared the RST X-3 with my RST X-2 that is pin under the ring finger and mass bias is 2 inches away from my thumb. The X-3 is easily 6-7 boards stronger and even when I messed left and thought it was gonna leave a wash out it came back even harder and striked. It needs oil for sure. On a house shot for the left side I am able to use it for 1.5 games then have to ball down because after that you have to keep moving right then the ball starts to lose the back end and becomes over/under. The RST X line has continued to be awesome and this is a great tournament ball for your tournament bag

Probably the strongest hybrid bowling ball I have ever thrown! Roto Grip introducing the newest ball in the RST line, the RST-X3. This ball has the original core found in all of RST bowling balls but wrapped in a hybrid Micro Trax coverstock. This ball is very strong for a hybrid and really digs in the oil and continues a lot more than I am use to for hybrid bowling balls. I just came off a tournament that I threw this ball religiously on the fresh. It allowed me to throw it hard and in front of me and this ball just kept digging and continuing through the pins.
Even with a 3 3/8 pin distance on my X3, it still continues so much and it allows me to play straight and even give it away from the head pin and it still snaps the 10 pin out. I absolutely love this ball and I cant wait to drill more! Get yours today at your local Storm VIP Pro Shop.

The RST X-3 is a smooth rolling medium-heavy condition ball that sits perfectly in between the heavy oil monsters and the skid-flip pieces. For most house shots I think this could be a first ball out of the bag; however, for true heavy oil or higher speed and/or lower rev rate players, this would be the 2nd ball out of the bag. This ball gave me a smooth arc, while still not reading the lane too early. Due to the ball not reading the lane too early, I was still able to move left with it when needed. I would put this ball under the Gem or Super Nova in overall motion, but over the Reality Check or Infinite Physix.

The X3 is the newest addition to the RST line from Roto Grip and will certainly be noticed going down the lane with its yellow/smoke/grape color scheme. On paper the RST-X3 is similar to the X1, but the hybrid cover on the X1 is 2 parts solid and 1 part pearl, whereas the cover on the X3 is 1 part solid and 2 parts pearl. The X1 generally has a smoother reaction with a rounder shape, and the X2 has a weaker reaction with more length and a quicker change in direction down lane. The X3 falls somewhere in between the previous two.
The new RST-X3 is very strong and heavy rolling and reads the mid-lane much sooner than either of its predecessors. When it gets down lane, it sees the spot pretty well and has a strong yet rounded back end shape (as opposed to a hockey stick type motion). Make no mistake, this ball is strong overall and certainly wants to hook when it sees friction. It does blend the wet-dry fairly well and has been a go-to for me when the lanes become over-under and I want to stay with a stronger ball. To me, it feels more like a hybrid version of a Gem more so than an RST – and that’s probably where it fits best in the bag, a step below the Roto Grip Gem but a step up from a Rubicon UC2. If you’re looking for a strong hybrid, this one should be on your short list. I can see a lot of league and tournament bowlers getting plenty of use out of the RST-X3.

RST-X3 Ball Review
Hey everyone, I'm back with another ball review, and this time it's for the Roto Grip RST-X3 and in 15 pounds this ball is wrapped in the Micro Trax Hybrid cover stock and comes at 4K Fast with an RG of 2.53, Diff of .053 and A MB of .016 with a layout of 4X4X2
It is very easy to say how pleased I am with this ball. If you had thrown the original RST-X1 or X2 this is everything that ball is and with the hybrid cover, you get that clean motion in the heads. A great ball for that medium to heavy oil condition. The X1 and X2 are a great combo, and I can see where the balls will fit within the same bag.

Hook in a box! The all new RST X-3 is going to be an excellent addition to the HP4 line. The RST X-3 features MicroTrax Hybrid Coverstock wrapped around the same RST core that we all love. This ball is able to combine all the great parts of the Gem with the versatility of the Idol Helios. This ball is strong and controllable like the Gem and it is versatile and angular like the Helios. Roto Grip RST X-3: RST core with MicroTrax Hybrid cover stock with 4K fast /exceptionally light polish. The layout is 60 x 1 ½ x 65.
Currently using it on a 46ft THS that was a BIG cliff on the back of the pattern and not really blended well front to back and side to side. Super dry outside of 12 and super heavy conditioner between 16 to 16 across the boards.
Comparing it to the RST X-2, the movement is early in each part of the ball motion due to hybrid cover versus pearl cover, which is understandable and expected, BUT the main difference is that the X-3 still has a good bit of angle into the pocket, where the X-2 tends to be super over/under reaction because the pattern is not blended well. The X-1 had too much early movement and would lose most of its momentum because it would try to “dig in” too much in the front of the pattern and the heads. I changed the surface to 2000ab to see what the difference was and there really was not much difference in the movement, the ball does look better with the increased lane shine at 2000ab over weeks of using it. I call this core ASYS-LITE, because it is on the “lighter side” of ASYS cores out there and gives me a smoother reaction that other ASYS cores.

WOW, The X3 is nothing like the X1 or X2. The X3 is definitely the most angular of the 3. With the factory finish the X3 makes me get further left that I want to be with it, causing it to wiggle off the spot. Adding surface definitely helped the reaction, allowing me to be more successful and see the shape that I needed.
The X3 definitely has elite shelf appeal! I have already sold a lot of them out of my pro shop, not to mention that it matches up with the house shot here pretty well.
I have seen/heard this ball rolls well on more difficult patterns as well. Nate Garcia drilled his with a 3-3/8’ pin to pap and says that its “Super Chuggy.” Excellent when you are dealing with extra volume in the heads!
My Layout is: 4x5.25x2

I don’t normally do this type of thing in my reviews but let me just come out and say this… THIS IS WHAT A HIGH END HYBRID BALL SHOULD BE!
The X-3 has the MicroTrax Hybrid cover which 2:1 pearl:solid hybrid cover. From what I’ve seen, the X-3 is earlier than the X-1 and more forward, and obviously also earlier and stronger than the fully pearl X-2.
With a highish 2.53RG and diff of .053, this ball is designed to be a step down from your Gem, Reality, or Infinite Physix. The X-3 fills a gap for me in my bag for sure. I struggled to find the right ball to go to after the Reality, because most of the time I am still looking for an asymmetrical shape but nothing quite fit the bill UNTIL the RST X-3! Mine is drilled 4.5x5x2.5 and I am debating on drilling a 2nd one. What I see out of the X-3 is it is strong and versatile enough to play up the lane or be the piece to go to after the big dull ball has made the lanes transition but it is not yet time for a ball like the Idol Helios.

I drilled the RST X-3 with a 40x4x30 layout to allow the ball to pick up early in the front part of the lane, with high flare potential, and quick/continuous response to friction. I am higher speed, rev challenged 220-250ish, high tilt, high rotation, and super low track player. The RST X-3 has been my go to game 1 ball this league season. The ball is strong enough to pick in the in fresh higher volumes of oil while retaining enough energy to come off the spot hard.

I’ve tested this very few times to give a full review on it but my control with the ball isn’t great imo, looks hella nice hopefully I can find the condition to play it more

The RSTX3. My Layout 4x4x3. Another great color scheme on the Roto Grip Side. This ball for me def needed some games on it and some lane shine before I really liked what I saw. Out of the box it was a little too soon. But with some lane shine it got me where I like to see my breakpoint. Down lane for me this ball had a unique move and stop motion I am loving. Plus this ball really gets through the pins which is rare when the ball really slows down. This ball is def a ball with a permanent spot in my bag

This is my first experience with the RST line and has become a heavily used ball in my arsenal. The RST X-3 out of box picked up the front of the lane too early for what I was wanting to see out of it so I changed the surface to 4000 polished. I wanted this to be the first shiny ball out of my bag after my Hustle USA and Zen Master especially if the front of the lane was already hooking. If I need anything cleaner the next step for me is the Hyped Hybrid.

Took a little time to get used to the colors but definitely became a mainstay in my bag for anything with some volume. I can blend over under with it on house but mostly it shines for me on tougher patterns with volume. Even with all the control it gives me it's amazing how it goes threw the pins. An absolute winner.

Roto Grip RST X-3 Ball Review

Layout: 5 X 41/2 X 23/4 VLS
With the release of the third installment in the RST line I was curious how close this ball would be to the RST X-3 since they were both hybrid covers. The RST X-1 has more solid as the base and the R-3 more pearl. When I drilled the X-1 I was expecting a replacement piece for the original Physix but the X-1 was stronger and smoother or slower than the Physix. I drilled the X-2 with a weaker layout and the pearl cover was too clean for me to use on a regular basis in my arsenal.
After using the RST X-3 in league around town on the local house shots it's becoming one of my favorites to use. For me it's earlier than the Infinite Physix and more sharper off the end of the house shot than the Reality Check. I did a slight adjustment to the surface to 1000 abralon by hand and just let it shine up and haven’t changed the surface since. I have rolled to 300s with it on the fresh house shots in both leagues where the 300s were in the third game. This is a good transition ball when you need to move left into the higher volume of oil of the house shot.
I was also able to have success using this ball on the 35’ Del Ballard Pattern during a PBA 50 South Region event.

Great price! Packaging could’ve been a little better, if I had to offer some constructive criticism.
