all right we're back here inside waterford lanes home of bowler x pro shop and training center where today i have the new ufo alert by roto grip uh and it's got the same layout as that dart code you've just seen four and a half by 45 or 45 by four and a half by 45 so should be similar both asymmetric balls very clean same basically family of bowling balls so let's see if there's a big difference and i'm going to use it on the exact same pair that i just threw the dart code on and we're going to see the difference there and maybe i'll kind of throw them together and then we'll do a comparison video after this of those two bowling balls

pretty excited about this one if i'm correct this should be earlier and smoother than the dart code i would imagine i have no idea though because this ball hasn't gone on the lane yet so this shot right here is actually going to be the very first shot on this ball so you get to see the first that i've seen too so let's just try and do exactly what we did with the dart code and go a little bit straighter and see if it gets through there

now that kind of scares me a little bit because that didn't pick up down lane at all that one kind of just rolled and just kept rolling so i don't know if that one just hooked early and kind of just puked or what but i don't know dart code had some angle down lane from there so i'm just gonna i'm not even gonna go that far i'm just gonna go three left this time instead of the five three and two see what happens

yeah definitely smoother that was really good though there's my guy what's up buddy that's a turkey bud not a chicken that's for a five bagger we got five bagger out there we just bought 260 with the dart code now we got a five bagger here with the combination of the dart code and the ufo all right so that was three so let's go three more what kind of inch are we left

all right so now let's go five now i'm gonna go five left this is where the test is gonna be will it start to come around the corner or not it did and it tripped to four but that was a little early but that's what i was talking about that's why i would say i think that the rotogrip vault was going to be just a pinch earlier than the dart code now it's starting to confuse me a little bit because that one actually picked up down lane it was earlier but it still picked up

and went so we've got uh we're not sure what it's going to do as we go left all right let's go five more five more left and hope for the best

oh that ain't gonna push oh just kidding wow i thought that was gonna pick up and go through the face we've got some strikes with these balls folks that's an eight bagger right there oh geez we got power flickering we got some power flickers got some rain and wind going on outside so might get scary in a little bit you're okay

i'm just gonna go four more left this time i'm gonna try to get it to the right a little bit and see what happens see if it comes off the dry i did not you guys see that power flicker that was crazy it like flicked everything geez scared the beans out of me you might lose some power that's a seven count that ain't good on an eight bagger how's that happen it didn't score it though i'm gonna try to make the spare why not

it's fun well worried we're gonna lose power and i'm gonna have to start over or just call it quits one or the other look a little more than that dang it all right well i'm not buying this ball it doesn't make spares geez just kidding just kidding just kidding just kidding so it didn't get around the corner from there which is a little concerning for me

but i mean the original ufo was a pretty strong roley core too so i mean it's not really that unexpected but let's keep trying a few more left and see what we got just won't throw it as far right that's pretty good that was pretty good that's what we're looking for just like you saw with the dart code when i say that's that was a good shot and it splits the 89 and drives through the pins and 10 back that's always what

we're looking for so that one came off the dry just fine so maybe i did something wrong on that previous shot we're going to assume that because obviously the bone balls aren't going to do anything wrong all right further left a little put a little peanut butter and jelly on this one jelly oh i left the jelly

that was just peanut butter it stuck to the right dang it ah i get another chance of the spare i missed the last one see if i can make this one slight adjustment hook a little i did the exact same thing goodness go for two all right one more shot one more

shot so if i'm gonna say based right now i'm gonna say that this would be a ball that i would go to a little bit earlier when i can play probably right of 20 and i need something shiny that's still going to read the middle of the lane and then when i go a little bit further left i'm going to probably go or if i need something more pop down line i'm gonna go to the dart code so then if i need overall more strong i'm going maximum results all right

we're gonna try the peanut butter and jelly time again we're gonna add some bananas on this one bananas are always good there's the bananas oh my goodness i don't want to come around that corner so yeah just like i said it's not going to be unless i'm seeing some good back end crisp back ends because again this is a used condition

so i'm not thinking that this is going to be very good further left but just for giggles i want to see how it responds to slower speeds from in there maybe i'm just too fast so what'd we have we had peanut butter and jelly with bananas how about we add some mayo just a little bit of mayo slow us down

yeah and it overreacts that's pretty typical what happens in there with a shiny ball and it's slow down laying all right so for those of you that saw the dart code video you can see now with this ufo alert how uh how much smoother down lane this thing actually is and it's a lot to do with the core it's because it's a uh it's an earlier rolling core anybody that threw the ufo you probably saw the same thing that wasn't a ball that was going to whip down lane very well but this cover gets it through the front a little bit better and still gives you that really good mid lane roll

which i really like to see so it's that's going to be the ball that's going to be more like a transition ball for me not late in the day like what this was for you but it's going to be more like a game two three type of ball um and then i'm gonna start with a stronger ball like a maximum results or a game breaker four um to start the day so go to the ufo and then transfer over to the dart code and then do like a proof pearl or something like that so good good little uh i got a good little repertoire starting to work out here so if you want to get one of these ufo alerts they are being pre-ordered right now over at bowler

The newest addition in the HP4 Line from Roto Grip is the brand new UFO Alert! This ball features the e-Trax hybrid reactive Coverstock wrapped around the E.T. Core which was previously seen in the original UFO! This UFO Alert will take the place of the previous Nuclear Cell as the shiny ball in the HP4 line! My UFO Alert I have drilled is pin over my ring finger with the mass his right next to my thumb so it’s a little more stacked than normal for me! What I really like about this ball so far throwing it how clean it is through the front part of the lane reads the body of the lane very well but with that Hybrid Coverstock it’s very controllable for a shinier ball! The UFO Alert will come into play on the medium-heavier lane conditions when the lanes are hooking a little bit and the UFO or Rubicon is to early this will give you that clean strong controllable motion!! Roto Grips newest HP4 line ball features the ET Core, wrapped around the hybrid eTrax cover. I drilled mine 5 x 3 x 4.5 and after throwing this ball for a while I was quite impressed on how smooth it was. This cover is also featured on the Idol Synergy but slightly different because this is two parts pearl one part solid instead of the 50/50 blend found on the Synergy. The UFO Alert really allows me to blend the lane out when they are really wet/dry and doesn’t over react when I miss towards the gutter. I will probably knock the shine slightly off mine to utilize it more as a fresh ball but I can see myself using this ball for entire blocks because of the cover/core combination.

The UFO Alert is the 2nd release in the HP4 line with the ET Core along with the E-Trax Hybrid coverstock. I drilled mine with a 55 x 5 x 45 drilling which is the same drilling I have on the RST X-1. Comparative to the two, the UFO Alert is cleaner while still maintaining the more continuous shape on the backend. The Alert also gives a little more angularity as well so it is a very good compliment to the RST X-1. Comparing the Alert with the UFO, there is a definite more defined difference in the backend. Since the two balls share the same core, the midlane roll is very similar but the two coverstocks make the biggest difference. The UFO Alert is again cleaner while still giving a smoother reaction in the midlane. The Alert is a great step down from either the UFO or the RST X-1. Compared to the Nuclear Cell, the Alert will be earlier rolling and slightly smoother in the backend due to the hybrid coverstock. Adam Chase Storm Staff

The original UFO was one of the strongest asymmetrical solids to date. The UFO Alert features the same ET core although this time matched with the E-Trax hybrid cover to prevent reading and grabbing the front part of the lane. With the pearl and polish elements the ball will get through the initial part of the lane without burning up and provide plenty of motion down lane. The hybrid nature of the ball allows it to be more controllable at the break point. This ball is a great step down off the original UFO or any stronger solids, asymmetrical or symmetrical. Also, if the lanes are hooking to early the UFO Alert would be a great ball to begin with.

The UFO Alert gives you exactly what you need once your solid asymmetric balls are burning up too much energy. In my ball review, I was able to stay further right than with most shiny cover bowling balls. The Alert is smooth through the midlane and because of its controlled motion, won’t force you too far left too early. When I did start to move left, the clean cover responded well to the friction and still got back to the pocket with ease. The versatility from the right and further inside is my biggest take away from throwing it my first two days. This ball can be used from multiple angles and it looked great doing so. I’m excited to throw this ball more in tournaments and while bowling league this summer. The UFO Alert is another excellent example! Built with the e-Trax Hybrid Cover and the E.T. Core, the UFO Alert is a clear choice for your arsenal. So, let’s take a look at how the UFO Alert performs on a THS. The E.T. (Equalizer Technology) Core has some serious zest to it without being overbearing. As I looked up the ten board on a fresh THS, this core had a smooth motion in the mid-lane and a decisive turn in the backend. But, what really set the E.T. Core apart for me was its performance when entering the roll phase! Like in my review of the UC2, the E.T. Core stands up with authority and rolls through the pins with the inertia of a freight train going downhill! Then it hits and keeps on going! Even when I moved in and targeted 18 out to 7-8 down the lane, the E.T Core kept my slow rev rate hand in the game! I could count on it! The e-Trax Hybrid cover is an excellent blend for medium to heavy THS oil. The solid portion of this mixture allowed the ball to clear the heads quickly and read the mid-lane smoothly. The pearl portion of this hybrid mixture allowed me to get the ball down lane without it burning up, as you would see with a solid cover late in the night by leaving ten pins. I found tweaking the cover with 3000 grit Abralon handled better for my high-speed, low-rev hand as it eliminated effects from too much carry down. Further, as I moved inside, the surface change kept the UFO Alert in play for me through a whole night of highly skilled trios! This cover is a perfect and reliable cover under many conditions. My conclusion is that I highly recommend the UFO Alert for any higher-speed, lower-rev player. With its one-two punch of E.T. Core and e-Trax cover, the UFO Alert will deliver shot after shot and night after night. Further, I have found the UFO Alert to be a reliable and powerful ball after using it on a THS in many houses.
