At that time, the Ordnance C4 was well respected and came with a hybrid coverstock. The newer Xponent has already made huge waves and now we have the complementary Xponent Pearl. The Xponent Pearl comes with a pearl coverstock, finished with Reacta Gloss. You can expect a clean reaction through the front part of the lane. From what I see, on the HPL surfaces I bowl on, the Xponent Pearl provides optimal length and backend on most of your THS conditions. First thing you will notice right away with the Xponent Pearl the OOB finish provides a nice clean through the fronts and continuous predictable motion. For a pearl offering this ball still has a touch of arc and more control for pearls in this category. The ball is very predictable which is the cornerstone of the Xponent Pearl. In my opinion the Xponents go through the pins a tad better then its predecessor the Ordnance C4. The Xponent Pearl will be a great option as a second or even third sym out of the bag. For me, I'm going with the OOB surface on the Xponent Pearl. The carry potential of this ball will be something special when lanes get tougher to navigate but solids become less usable as the shot goes away. So far I've been about three to four boards deeper with the pearl over the solid. I'm still testing a bit to see if both balls are permanent number ones in tbe bag. I drilled this piece with the Pin up between the fingers and CG kicked out 1” from the palm. Out of Box ball motion clean through the fronts with a stronger backend reaction than the XPonent on the Fresh 43’ House Pattern. I compared this to Xponent (2-2 Right) and the Sublime (1-1 Right). 900 Global Xponent Pearl Layout 5 x 4 x 2 Style – stroker Ball Speed – 14–15 mph at pins Condition – house pattern - older HPL surface Surface – box condition The Exponent is an extremely useful ball in my arsenal. I always refer to it as a stronger IQ Tour. When the Xponent Pearl was announced, I was immediately intrigued to see how the two complimented each other. The Pearl is obviously cleaner and more responsive than the solid. But what surprised me was it was still more ball overall. Targeting in the same area of the lane, I had to move my feet 2-3 boards left to keep it on-line. Can’t say I was expecting that kind of difference. Typically for me, it’s a 2-3 board right move when switching from a solid to a pearl of the same ball. Easy length with a defined and controllable motion for me. Other reviewers are speaking to the angular motion off the end of the pattern. Always specific to each bowler’s style how some see smooth, and some see angular. Either way, I can’t see any style that couldn’t benefit from this ball. For the league bowler I could see the Xponent, Xponent Pearl and a spare ball as a tremendous three ball arsenal without breaking the bank. Highly recommend this bowling ball.

The Xponent Pearl is a shape we've been missing in the SPI lineup! The medium differential and low RG provides a lower flaring option that still revs up in the midlane. Paired with the cleaner pearl coverstock, this ball is perfect for those hooking house shots. This ball for me picks up in a similar spot as the IQ Ruby, but the Xponent Pearl flares more so overall it can handle a little more oil. The Xponent Pearl features the same great core that made the original Xponent a staple in so many bags, but now wrapped in a pearlized cover. The first thing that jumped out at me about the Xponent Pearl was how much quicker it shaped off the friction. Many times a pearl cover will help create length but it doesn't always translate into faster response. The other thing that blew me away was just how much more the Xponent Pearl hooked than its predecessor. With the same layout I was a couple boards left and really having to watch my angles down-lane. the house pattern in my home center is very cliffed and the front panels have a lot of built in friction so it makes it hard to throw a ball that will smooth out the down-lane reaction without hooking too much in the front. On a fresh lane I felt I had to be perfect for the ball to not over or under read. My 2nd outing went much better when I figured out I could play a little closer to the friction if I got my hand around it more to spin it through the front. I feel the Xponent Pearl will match up very well for speed dominant bowlers who sometimes have trouble getting the ball to shape down-lane when they have to open up their angles. I could also see it being very useful on some sport patterns where a ball that creates so much shape in such a small window is needed. This ball is by far just as big of a sleeper as the original XPonent. To get this reliable of a ball for the price point in the line is amazing. Very clean similar to the Summit Peak but a touch smoother on the back ends similar to the Sublime.

layout: 5 x 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 surface: Reacta Gloss The Xponent pearl brings back the Shrapnel 2.0 Core combined with the new Reserve Batch 702 Pearl Coverstock. Designed for medium oil, the Xponent pearl will be one step below the Zen Gold Label in terms of total hook. I got to test this ball on a 44ft Typical House Shot and a 42ft Sport Pattern. The Xponent pearl's primary use is for medium oil conditons which means on most typical house patterns, wouldn't be fantastic on fresh oil. For me, I found it to be too weak for my style to be great on the fresh. It was very responsive to the dry and had trouble picking up in the inside oil. It is however a great step down from the Xponent Solid as it gives a few more feet of length and a more angular backend. The xponent pearl was great in transition after the Xponent became too slow down the lane. I was able to stand in the same place on the approach and use the same line on the lane to continue to strike. The Xponent Pearl got through the front of the lane easier and backended much harder. It was actually pretty surprising how well it read the lane front to back. Bowlers should get the Xponent pearl if they have the Xponent Solid and are looking for a cleaner and more responsive option or as a ball down option from the Zen Gold. On the 42ft Sport Pattern, I was again pretty surprised how well the ball read the pattern considering how much more volume there was than the house pattern. As expected though, the ball was only usable in the transition phase of the pattern. It was a better second transition and step down from the Zen Gold. The Zen Gold was overall stronger by a few boards and more angular down the lane. It was easier to use the Zen Gold after a ball such as the Harsh Reality than the Xponent Pearl was. As the lanes broke down more from the Zen Gold, the Xponent Pearl really came alive. I was able to move into the oil more while allowing the ball to utilize the drier conditions that I had created. The ball continued well and angled well through the pins. The Xponent Pearl I feel was designed properly based on its specs. It is definitely better for use on medium to drier lane conditions but due to the lower rg of the core, it can handle a little more oil if you remove the reacta gloss. The most optimal use for this ball in league would be game 2 and/or 3 depending on your style or conditions and more of a burn type ball for sport tournament conditions. Adam Chase Storm Staff

The Xponent Pearl is our new middle of the line pearl symmetric. Compared to the Original Xponent that features the 801 Reserve Solid coverstock while the Xponent Pearl has the 702 Reserve Blend Pearl coverstock. So, as it is cleaner, it still has the original controllable shape. Very versatile piece as I was able to play straight and loop it around the lane. This is definitely a staple in the bag! Hey everyone, I'm back with another ball review, and this time it's for the 900 Global Xponent Pearl. At 14 pounds this ball is wrapped in the Reserve Blend 702 Pearl Coverstock and has the Shrapnel 2.0 Symmetric Core, used in the XPonent Solid Core with an RG of 2.49, Diff of .042. The layout for this ball is 4.5x4.5x1 Now that I have thrown this ball I have found it a very clean ball and is a great ball down from a ball like the Attention Star. In league we have a wet/dry shot and I stay near or near the track and when the Attention Star burns up the Xponent Peal is a great step down and allows me to stay in the zone that I was playing. This will be a ball that will be in many bags especially if you are a tournament player. This will be a ball used a lot in league, maybe as the game three ball or in a tournament it will be later in the block ball. To go along with balls like the Storm Summit and as I have said in other reviews being more speed than rev dominant I have found this ball to look best going straight down the track. The Xponent Pearl is not as rolly as my Summit so I did have to start moving left as I threw it. This is a ball I have been waiting on for a long time. Ever since the Idol Pearl was removed from the lineup I been looking for its replacement on the lighter to medium oil conditions. A lot of the other benchmark pearls I had found to be too smooth and not angular enough. The Xponent pearl is that ball. When I look to bal down in league I nave exclusively been going to this as my first option. This is a ball you can drop to on the stronger asymmetrical solid and pearls as well as the symmetrical solids and/or pearls. This is a bowlers ball and should be in everyones bag.

For a new release it was super cheap and the ball is great on the burn with pin down layout.

900 Global Xponent Pearl ball review: Bowler specs: 15.5 mph and rev rate in the 380’s and my is PAP is 3 ¼ and at zero up/down and tested on Pro-Lane at ABC North Lanes in Harrisburg, Pa. Ball specs: Shrapnel 2.0 symmetric core with the reserve blend 702 pearl cover, with box finish with Reacta Gloss. With adding the Xponent Pearl to the 700 series in the 900 Global line, it gives a ball with RG and Diff numbers that are not available in the Roto Grip or Storm lines of bowling balls, it adds a look that most league bowlers need. The Shrapnel 2.0 is an early revving core and for me the original Xponent was a little flat in back end reaction for me during league. The Xponent is better for me for flatter and challenging patterns because of how smooth the overall reaction is. For the pearl version, it gives a completely different pearl motion of the Zen Gold Label and I am able to shape the shot better because of the RG and Diff numbers. Where the Zen Gold, went longer down lane because the backend reaction would kick in, it tended to not recover quick enough for me on the Pro-lane I bowl league on. The 900 Global Xponent Pearl is the newest addition in 900 Global's lineup. Following the successful path that the Xponent has paved in smooth controllable ball motion, the Xponent Pearl shines as a symmetric pearl that pulls on those same strings. The 702 Blend Pearl that wraps the Shrapnel 2.0 core provides strong but consistent ball motion after the front part of the lane starts to dry up. While I see a much more defined breakpoint shape from the Xponent Pearl, it is still easily repeatable and controllable. Compared to the Roto Grip Attention Star, the Xponent Pearl revs up much faster and provides more board coverage. The Attention Star is much earlier and smoother. I can see the Attention Star being used on some higher volume patterns while adding some surface to the cover to blend out the wet/dry. The Xponent Pearl brings a solid 2-3 punch following the Xponent in the bag.

Layout: 4 1/2 x 4 x 2 The Xponent Pearl takes the original Xponent and changes from a solid coverstock to a pearl. If you liked the Xponent, the pearl is the same core, the same 702 series coverstock, but in a pearl version. The pearl is an excellent ball down from the original when the fronts start to burn up. While the original read the midlanes well, the pearl gets much further down the lane and has a much more angular shape than the original. The Xponent Pearl is a new addition to the 900 Global line. This bowling ball features Shrapnel 2.0 Symmetric Core and the Reserve Blend 702 Pearl coverstock. I have thrown this Xponent Pearl for a while now and it has taken me a little longer than expected to figure out where this bowling ball fits best in my arsenal. With the medium differential available in this core of the Xponent Pearl, I drilled mine with my typical pin-up layout: 65 x 4 1/2 x 30. I have never thrown the original Xponent, but it appeared to be early to me and I think the same translates to the Xponent Pearl. The core wants to rev-up pretty early making the ball come off the line sooner while the cleaner coverstock tries to make the bowling ball skid further down the lane. Putting a little bit more surface on my Xponent Pearl seemed to make the bowling ball “read” the lane a little bit smoother and more consistently. I believe this bowling ball will look very good on higher friction lane surfaces and/or patterns that have some friction built-in. I believe that the Xponent Pearl, because of the earlier core, could also work well on the patterns that have a lot of volume in the middle part of the pattern. Finally, I think bowlers that are looking for a weaker alternative to the original Zen, will really enjoy throwing the Xponent Pearl. 900 Global – Xponent Pearl Patterns used for review: Pattern A1: 41 Ft 27Mls 8:1 COMMENTS LAYOUT: 5X4X1, I used multiple hand positions and speed changes which changes rev rate, read and speed of ball. PLAY The 900 Global Xponent Pearl. Definitely worth the read. Something you need to think about as far as a bench mark mid ball in your arsenal that is a pearl. Pattern A1: The Xponent isa favorite of mine. Typically, I carry one at 2000 grit and the other 2000/polished. When the Xponent Pearl came out I was excited to add that one element for pattern transition without making to many adjustments as the pattern developed. Initially the XP was smooth and strong off the spot one the fresh. Easy to get down the lane and a strong move to the pocket. I decided to take out a 2000 Xponent and Phaze II to transition the lanes a little faster. After 4 games and other bowlers on the lane the XP was brought out again. The XP definitely shined more so at this point than on the fresh. The control and recovery showed me its strengths as the pattern transitioned. The Xponent Pearl will actually move up ahead of the polished Xponent and free a space in the bag. The XP responded to speed changes without reading the pattern to quick and transitioning. The XP actually became better as the pattern continued to transition and the cover started to break in. LOW DOWN: The Xponent Pearl is a ball that fits nicely in the middle of the arsenal for all bowlers but won’t penalize lower/slower speed/rev players. Definitely a great league ball. Layout: 60 x 4 3/4” x 35 The reaction of the 900 Global Xponent Pearl shows how massively important the coverstock and surface finish is to the final overall motion – whereas the original Xponent rolls very smooth and predictable, the Xponent Pearl has an aggressive, flippy backend reaction. It is super clean through the front part of the lane, and picks up hard in the later part of the midlane. This ball is perfect for medium to medium-dry lane conditions. For lanes that are too oily for the Xponent Pearl, the Xponent slides in perfectly. As far as comparisons go, the Xponent pearl rolls very similar to the Summit Peak for me.

As bowling centers and lanes continue to age, competitive bowlers are seeing more and more friction. Because of that, we need equipment to be able to handle those conditions and 900 Global recently released a perfect solution, the Xponent Pearl. A symmetrical core (Shrapnel 2.0) and the Blend 702 Pearl Cover is a winning combination to tackle medium-to-light patterns and high friction surfaces. I’ve drilled one so far and have had a lot of success with it. I mapped it out as 5.5 x 5 and also scratched the surface with a 3000 pad just to tame down the response time a hair. It’s been a perfect ball to use after my Harsh Reality is done striking or my DNA Coil is simply too strong. I’ve had the most success with it after a pattern goes through its transition and I need a ball to create shape left-to-right. If you need a ball for those lighter volume conditions or are bowling on older surfaces, the 900 Global Xponent Pearl should be the next ball you drill!

With the release of the Xponent Pearl I believed I would have a ball that was quicker down lane than the original Xponent but I must have drilled the Xponent Pearl a little too strong because it is quicker down lane but doesn’t have the big change of direction I look for in a pearl like the Phaze V or Zen Gold Label. I changed the surface many times. I removed the polish and also resurfaced the ball with a 1000 grit and then added a lighter amount of polish but just couldn’t get comfortable with the ball motion on the house shot. I have not used it on patterns yet but with the PBA 50 Tour in full swing, and a few short patterns on the horizon, I will be bringing it along to see with stronger drilling and the core numbers will help me blend the wet/dry on those length of sport patterns. My axis point is 3 1/4 over and 7/8 up. The Xponent Pearl is an awesome addition to my arsenal clean this ball reads the mid lane and comes off the spot hard of the lane. I generally use this ball game 3 of league or when there is a to of friction right. The 900 Global Exponent Pearl definitely does not disappoint! This ball is going to come in handy when there is a medium amount of oil on the lanes or quite a bit of transition on the lanes where you need to get the ball down lane further.
