I was able to buy my Zen Soul here in Germany before it was released in the U.S. The cover is actually 4000 Girt surface (per what is stated on the box) I have used this ball a few times and love it on the fresh! I don't have either of the other Zen's but I noticed I was able to stay in it longer than a friend who was throwing his Zen Master.

amazing ball. it does whatever i want it to do down lane with a lot of hook.

Where do I start? This fits right in the middle of the the best balls made, the Zen and Zen Master. When the Zen Master is starting to roll to early go to this!

900 Global continues their "Zen" dynasty with the release of the Zen Soul! And they have accomplished this mastery by taking their proven Meditate symmetric core and wrapping it with their all-new, brilliantly developed S77 Response Hybrid Coverstock. The Zen Soul produced outstanding results from the first shot off my hand, and I was thrilled with its performance! So, let's take a closer look at how the Zen Soul destroyed a THS!
The Meditate symmetric core made its debut with the release of the original Zen, and it is a proven workhorse for straighter players like me. I love how this core revs in the mid-lane and provides a smooth, well-rounded motion when playing straight-up second arrow. But more poignantly, because of its huge size and shape, it builds a strong momentum as it rolls down the lane. And that unrelenting, rolling thunder delivers a powerful blow when it strikes the pins. Low rev and down and in players will love the Meditate core's ability to keep the pins low, giving us a more swirling and mixing pin reaction we like to see and count on!
Now, let's talk about the amazing S77 Response Hybrid Coverstock! As 900 Global seriously did their homework with this fantastic mixture! On a fresh THS, I loved how this cover was crisp through the front part of the lane. And by crisp, I mean from the moment the Zen Soul hits the lane, the S77 Response Hybrid doesn't hesitate to do what it wants to do. It cuts cleanly and decisively as it makes a path through the front part of the lane. Then the S77 Hybrid reads the mid-lane with a smooth gripping traction without being overbearing like a solid can tend to be. And when the Zen Soul makes its turn to the pocket, I loved how the S77 had a stable and steady motion in response to friction.
As the THS pattern began to break down, I liked how the S77 Response Hybrid handled the carry-down and spotty conditions you see in regular league play. I enjoyed confidently moving inside, knowing the S77 Response Hybrid Cover wouldn't overcompensate or be "jumpy" off the pattern. In fact, the S77 Hybrid actually blended the over-under reaction smoothly with a fluid motion I could depend on while playing in those broken-down conditions. And for a straighter player to move his target to 16-17 and still make the pocket with power to spare. That speaks volumes about the capabilities of the S77 Hybrid! And all of this with the out-of-box 4000 grit Abralon finish! It doesn't get much better!
In conclusion, the Zen Soul is another masterly crafted ball from 900 Global. And it is an excellent choice for down and in players like me. Further, I have been a huge fan of the Meditate core since the release of the original Zen. And now, with the S77 Response Hybrid Coverstock, the Zen Soul will become the "must-have" for any straighter or rev challenged player's arsenal! So talk to your local Pro Shop operator and have your Zen Soul drilled up today! And enjoy the results!

The 900 Global Zen Soul features the S77 response hybrid reactive cover and the Mediate core. When I saw this ball was a hybrid, I was hoping this ball would fit in between the Zen Master and the Zen. I can say that I was not disappointed and it fits right between them. The Zen Soul is not as early as the Zen Master but has more shape down the lane off the friction. Compared to the Zen, the Zen Soul is not as quick off the friction but is a bit earlier and smoother than the Zen. The Zen Soul allows me to control the lane which will allow me to use it on a wide range of lane conditions. I also think the Zen Soul is going to pair well with the Storm Nova. When the Zen Soul gets a little lazy down lane, I can move into the Nova for a little extra pop from the cover/core. 900 Global has hit another home run with the Zen Soul!!

The Prime 800 Series Zen Soul offers the S77 response cover in a hybrid form with the Medtiate Symmetric core, which is the biggest core 900 Global has ever put into a bowling ball. The Zen Soul fits right in between the Zen and Zen Master, which gives the bowler the best of both worlds. The Zen Soul is cleaner through the fronts than the Zen Master and smoother on the backend than the Zen. I tested this ball on 44 feet typical house pattern. As a mid to low rev player, I was able to move left of 20 and open the lanes up. I was also able to stand right of 20, play the track area and swing it outside of five with great success. My ball’s layout is 65 x 5 x 45. This is a great ball for all levels of bowlers. Order one from your local pro shop today! My ball review videos are posted on YouTube channel Stanley Waite.

The Zen Soul is the third ball in the Zen line, and it could be the best one! We all know the original Zen is a great ball for any style and this ball compliments it very well. For me, the Zen Master had too strong of a cover and even with polish, I never got a great reaction out of it. But with the hybrid cover stock on the Zen Soul, it is way closer to the original Zen, just slightly stronger. I believe they could compliment each other very well because of how similar they are. I compared the Zen Soul to the Phaze 2, and the Phaze 2 read the lane a foot or two sooner, and was overall stronger by a couple boards. This ball is going to be special, you don’t want to miss out on having one!

Almost every serious bowler has owned either the Zen or Zen Master and now with the addition of the Zen Soul into the line to bridge the gap between the other Zens. I drilled mine the same way as I drilled my favorite Zen Master, 5 x 5 x 3. After throwing the Soul for awhile I was in total awe of this ball. Now the Zen Master has been my most trusted ball in my bag since I drilled it, I can throw it on the fresh and in transition and now with this 2 part pearl and 1 part solid hybrid the Zen Soul will add even more depth into my arsenal. The Zen Soul is a little cleaner than the Zen Master and offers more backend motion, it is almost a clean as the Zen but it’s backend motions are almost identical to me. I can see myself using the Zen Soul in a wide range of conditions and different times in blocks. This is ball might be a bigger hit than both of the other ones combined !

This is a good Hybrid Symmetric piece that fits between the Zen and Zen Master. Good for medium - Heavy Oil Patterns. Gets clean through the fronts with a smooth backend motion. Video of my review is on my YouTube channel. PD0714

The Zen Soul is everything you'd expect from a hybrid in the current Zen line. Earlier than the OG Zen, longer and sharper than the Zen Master. However I will say that this ball is a little closer to the OG Zen, in my eyes. Still a good amount of length and a ton of down lane motion. If anything, comparing box finish to box finish, the differences between the Zen and Zen Soul are quite subtle. The difference between the Soul and the Master and major. I went 4x30 on mine and it's just a ton of ball. I left it at the box surface and it's quite strong. It absolutely covers more boards overall than the Zen Master. Great ball for medium to heavier volumes, I would not recommend it for anything with a ton of friction.

The 900 Global Zen Soul is a great ball choice for many styles and talent levels. The Zen Soul is meant to be an in-between ball for the Zen and Zen Master. It is just that! Personally, I feel this might be the best ball in the Zen line! As I have stated many times before I am a huge fan of hybrid covers and the Zen Soul has been a great ball for my arsenal. On multiple lane patterns the Zen Soul has been very clean through the front part of the lane and has a strong/smooth transition in the back part of the lane. This is the strongest symmetrical hybrid I have thrown to date. I do have/throw a Storm Nova and even with the Nova being asymmetrical the Zen Soul is at least 2 and 1 stronger for me and I have very similar layouts on the 2 bowling balls.
I am a tweener that tends to spin the ball a bit. I used the dual angle layout system for this and on the 900 Global Zen Soul I went with 35x4x30.

This might be one of the best trifecta set of bowling balls to be released as each one of them fills it's need perfectly. The Zen Soul is the in-between option between the original Zen and Zen Master. If the Zen Master is too strong and early and the Zen is too clean the Zen Soul will be the balance between the two. Two Part pearl one part solid you will see clean through the fronts and control in the mid's with some extra energy down lane due to the 2 part pearl cover component.
The Zen Soul will work well on a multitude of patterns. I can see myself using this not only on house but on medium to shorter oil patterns. The Zen Soul is finished 4000 out the box although reacts well to surface adjustments. I have changed mine to 2000 and it blends out the house patterns really well. This ball will be an excellent option for bowlers facing varying lane conditions.

The 900 Global Zen Soul utilizes the S77 hybrid coverstock with the Mediate core. Here we are reviewing another Zen. It makes sense to combine the best characteristics from the Zen and Zen Master. The Zen ball “good” and the Zen Master not as good for me but does have some good characteristics. I must say though that I am going to drill another Zen Master with my favorite drill so it may become a favorite as well. I have thrown the Zen Soul in a couple tournaments. The Zen Soul looked really good playing straight, just inside the oil line at both tournaments. It is definitely a little stronger and earlier than the original Zen. The Zen Soul as a little rounder/longer hook spot than the Zen but still continuous. I moved 2 and 1 right with the Zen from the Zen Soul and was lined up immediately. I am interested in seeing what the Zen Soul will do on a little more oil and my normal release. The Zen Soul has the Daredevil Trick color vibe going for it, which I like.
My final thoughts are I don’t think a person needs both the Zen Soul and Zen Master. You could choose one of the two and pair it with the Zen for a nice 1-2 punch.

The Zen Soul is the newest addition to the Zen line. Featuring the S77 response hybrid coverstock and the meditate core, this ball gave me a great middle ground between the master and original zen. It reads the mid lane very well along with giving a great recovery on the back end. This is going to be a great benchmark ball for my game along with being able to ball down to this when on heavier patterns.

After the success of the Zen and Zen Master, there was no doubt that the Zen Soul would be phenomenal! It completes the “Zen Trilogy” with the S77 Response Hybrid Coverstock and is the perfect fit between its solid and pearl predecessors. The Soul looked amazing right from the start and will definitely have a spot in my bag for league and tournaments. It clears the front of the lane easier than the Zen Master and picks up sooner than the Zen, while providing great continuous motion through the pins. I can see the Soul being the first ball out of my bag in league because the Zen Master reads too early due to the high friction surface and the Zen can sometimes go too long on the fresh pattern. As the pattern breaks down I was able to migrate left without the ball losing energy and the coverstock does a wonderful job of blending out the wet/dry that is typical on most house shots. I have loved the Zen line since the first time I threw them. The Zen Soul does not disappoint and will become a benchmark ball for many bowlers.

Its finally here!! What can I say but Zen Ball Good! The Zen has been my favorite go to ball this year with two 300s this year and a high series of 793. The Soul is going to be another game changer. This ball can be used as a benchmark with strong backend motion and can be played on varies patterns. The Soul reads the mid lane extremely with and has that nice smooth motion. This isn’t as quick off the post as the Zen and a bit faster than the Master which makes it very predictable. The Soul picks up on the back part of the lane hard but isn’t jumpy off the friction with strong continuation. For those of you that may not have matched up with the Zen or Zen Master this just might be the one the Check out your local VIP Pro Shop for the New Zen Soul!

The Zen Soul is the 3rd entry in the Zen line and is the hybrid version of the S77 Response coverstock on the strong symmetric Meditate core. I find it to be closer to the original Zen than to the Zen Master, but not overwhelmingly so. The overall shape and look on the lane is very close to the Zen, just earlier and stronger, but only marginally smoother. The result is what I think is a more balanced and versatile look on the lanes. It smooths out the edges of the original Zen and removes or reduces the few flaws while not introducing any of its own, so in my opinion it’s a more refined original Zen. The Soul is a good ball sideways from the weaker asyms like the Nova, UC2, and RST X-2, and the stronger syms like the Phaze 2 and Helios. It’s a ball down from the bigger asyms like the Dark Code, Gem, Reality, and Proton, and a ball up from the Phaze 4, IQ Tour Solid, and Hyped Pearl and Hybrid. It fits well as a first ball out of the bag on regular house shots and medium length and volume sport patterns.

The original 900 Global Zen is one of my favorite balls in my bag. The Zen Master is still in my bag as an earlier option due to the cover, but it is much different than the Zen in overall reaction. With the Zen Soul, I have a ball to fine tune the reaction around the Zen. Out of the box, with the same 5 × 3 x 2.5 layout as my Zen, I have an overall stronger piece than the Zen, but not early like the Zen Master. The Soul will blend more than the Zen and that will be important when picking the time to throw the Soul or Zen. The Zen has more pop and length, but that is not always optimal when trying to control flatter patterns or hooking house patterns. I'm going to really love the 1-2 punch of the original Zen and Zen Soul!

Review:
The Zen Soul features a hybrid version of the S77 Response cover combined with the famous symmetric core that was first featured in the Zen. The hybrid version provides more length and sees more backend reaction down the lane compared to the Zen Master. 900 Global has covered it all with the Zen line by offering a nice 1-2-3 combination to fit an arsenal.
For me, the Zen Soul OOB finish is more complimentary compared to the Zen Master due to my slower ball speed as a thumbless player. The Soul gets through the front part of the lane much easier and the shape down lane allows me to be more open with my angles. The Zen Master, until I shinned it up a bit, was a bit early for me on a few patterns and has had limited use in my bag for the majority of surfaces I bowl on.
For the video review I tested the Zen Soul on 48 foot PBA Shark. After a few shots the Soul really found its groove on this animal pattern. The Soul was very easy to read as it transitioned down the lane and as with the Zen line in general provides alot of miss room to carry pins. Also, PBA Shark does not necessarily mean you want to use a super sanded oil soaker type ball. In fact, due to oil volumes used today you want to still get through the front part of the lane and have a ball read the end of the pattern. In this case the Zen Soul OOB surface finish worked great.
I recommend the Zen Soul for the player looking for an edge on the fresh and desiring a ball to continue with the transition as it occurs. I'm definitely excited for this ball from 900 Global. Grab a Zen Soul today!

The Zen Soul is as good as it's been advertise . What's so great about this ball is that it does Complement the original Zen and the Zen master. It's a very versatile ball u can play straighter with it or move deep left . I particularly like the Zen Soul cause when the original Zen is to much I can use the Zen Soul and get deeper left an the ball has a smoother continuous roll an not jumpy in the backend for me .

The Zen family is a sign of succes for me. The 900 Global Zen Soul features the S77 response hybrid reactive cover and the Mediate core. When I saw this ball was a hybrid, I was Thinking that ball would fit in between the Zen Master and the original Zen and it fits right between them. The Zen Soul react a litle bit later on the lane as the Zen Master but has more shape down the lane off the friction. Compared to the original Zen, the Zen Soul is a bit earlier and smoother. The Zen Soul allows me to control the lane like two others with not too big reaction. 900 Global has made another great succes ball with the Zen soul. My go to Symmetric layout same as the Zen Pearl this is the latest release in the Zen lineup. Much anticipated S77 Hybrid bridging the Zen Master and Zen to mere perfection.
After 20+ games this ball for me is definitely stronger down lane with the same motion as the Zen and a better choice to begin league on the THS. With the Zen Master better suited for more volume with a greater midlane shape the Soul is much more controllable for me.
Best reaction I have on 38-41ft patterns. Then I can ball down to the Zen. Possibly the best 3 ball arsenal in the 900 Global lineup.

The Zen Soul is the perfect blend of the original Zen, one of the best selling balls on the market still, and the Zen Master, one of the most controllable symmetric balls ever. The Zen soul is strong, smooth, and continuous. It hooks earlier than the Zen but continues off the end of the pattern better than the Zen Master. The S84 Hybrid coverstock can handle plenty of oil. If you're looking for a great step down from your big asym balls or a compliment to your Zen or Phaze 2, this ball is sure to fit in your bag!

Is it too late to say that this is the best Zen in the line?! 900 GLobal is introducing the new Zen Soul. The Zen Soul has the S77 Hybrid Reactive Coverstock wrapped around the trusted Zen core. The two part pearl one part reactive coverstock gives players the perfect in between a solid and a pearl when it comes to the Zen Soul.
The original Zen is a homerun. Very dependable and reliable shape for a strong symmetrical pearl. I bring that ball everywhere I go. The Zen Master however, for me, at times was a little too early and round and I could really only throw it for a short window in a block. This Zen Soul I can use to start and use longer in blocks if I'm looking for a benchmark shape to blend out the pattern front to back.
I am really excited for this ball and can't wait to keep going to tournaments with it to test out its true versatility. Stop by your local Storm VIP Proshop and get your hands on this one fast!

The 900 Global Zen has been a great ball all around and in many of my fellow bowlers bags as their ball of choice as a pearl. Then came the Zen Master, the solid dull cover to give you much earlier roll. Now we have the Zen Soul which is a hybrid so it’s the perfect complement to fit in between them. This ball has the value of any high performance ball with the Meditate Symmetrical core. I drilled mine 5-3/8x4x2. If you like the Zen and want a little earlier midlane roll, and if you like the Zen Master but need more length just not as much as a shiny pearl, then this is it. The S77 Response cover is now available in a hybrid form. The result is smoother thru the front part of the lane and a smooth strong continuous roll of the backend. Great pin action with it also. My PAP is 5-1/8 and 1/8 up. Usually around 15-16mph, I’d probably be classified between and tweener and cranker.

Video ball review: https://youtu.be/25eHBZv5HZI
As I am bowling my Rookie season on the PBA 50 senior tour, I drilled an original Zen with a VLS layout of 4 X 4 X 2 to help with the amount of skid I was experiencing with all my equipment in the front of the lane on the patterns they are putting out. When the Zen Soul was released I needed a stronger symmetrical so used the same VLS layout to battle the fresh on the longer patterns since my Phase II was strong enough on the mediums but not the longer patterns. With the Zen Soul having a hybrid cover I knew it would get into a roll earlier than the Phaze II and have a smoother reaction off the dry than the solid cover of the Phaze II.
I used the Zen Soul for a game or two during the Senior Masters in Las Vegas on a higher volume medium pattern and the ball was too strong to use it for multiple games. The surface at Sam’s Town bowling center is older so there was too much friction and layout was too strong to use it later in the block.
In my ball review I bowled at Strike Zone inside Sunset Station on their house shot and the Zen Soul was clean through the fronts and continuous off the end of the pattern. You can see, in the video, compared to my Phaze II with a 4 ½ in pin placement that the Zen Soul is earlier and more rolly off the dry than later and sharper motion off the dry of the Phaze II.

Storm Staffer Oliver Lawson here! The Zen is the perfect ball to help blend wet/dry and get into the burn. The Zen Master was a great ball to start out fresh and control the backend on tougher conditions (Much like a Phaze 2 for me). The 900 Global Zen Soul completes the gray area when the Zen is too clean but the Zen Master starts to burn up through the fronts. I Drilled mine 3.75x4.25x4.25 2ls to match the layout on my !Q Tour Solid. I found it to be clean through the fronts and pick up 3-4 feet sooner than my Zen, and it was more tamer on the backend. The Meditate core made popular in the Zen works very well with the S77 Response Hybrid coverstock to create a ball that blends out lane during transition.
United States
As most of us know, the Zen series has been an extremely successful line produced by 900 Global. The newest addition to that group is the Zen Soul. While the masterminds in Utah were creating the Soul, they decided to use the S77 Response coverstock, but updated it in a hybrid form. I’ve noticed the Soul is cleaner than the Zen Master which rolls earlier and heavier, but not as clean and responsive as the Zen. After drilling two Zen Souls, I’ve noticed significant differences than the first Zen and the Master.
The one I’ve had the most success with is drilled with the following layout: 4.5 x 4. This puts the pin above my ring finger and I’ve let lane shine change the surface. This provides me a ball that I can use after the Gem is too strong or starting to run out of gas, but before I need to go to an RST X2 to open up my angles. I’d all the response time “medium” on the Zen Soul. It’s still somewhat responsive downlane because of the hybrid cover, but not as quick as an X2 or an original Zen.
If you need a ball that you can use on multiple patterns and that compliments everything in the Storm, Roto, or 900 Global line, the Zen Soul should be the next ball you drill.

The 900 Global Zen Soul features the S77 Response Hybrid Cover and the Mediate Symmetric Core. The Zen Soul has a low RG of 2.49 a high differential of 0.051. To bring this all together, the S77 Hybrid coverstock which is two parts peal and 1 part solid, that was made to be closer to the original Zen then the solid Zen Master.
The review is being done on a typical house shot 42’ with 25ml of oil.
The layout chosen was a 60 x 4 x 40 which will give you a strong angular arc reaction shape, normal transition time and a hook/set ball roll. With this layout the Zen Soul will be great on a variety of patterns such as a medium to long sport or a fresh house shot.
I did a ball comparison to the 900 Global Zen Master & the original Zen.
First up is the 900 Global Zen Master. The Zen Master features the solid S77 Response coverstock and Mediate core. The Zen Master is great for a long sport or fresh house pattern that has a lot of volume. The Zen Master is stronger by 3 and 1 left.
Next is the 900 Global Zen. The Zen has the S77 Response Pearl cover and Mediate Symmetric core and a great compliment to the Zen Soul. You will see how the Zen Soul starts up quicker, but the original Zen will help you out when the Zen Soul starts to burn up leaving the flat 10. Here is a little tidbit with the Zen, the surface I used a 1000/1500 polish to have it blend out the lane better because at 4000 it was a on top of the Soul which defeats the purpose.
In my bag, the Zen Master will be the first out the bag, followed by the Zen Soul, then the Storm Dark Code, the Zen, then the Hyroad Pearl.

The third addition to the very successful Zen line is the Zen Soul. This ball is a solid hybrid that is becoming a great benchmark ball to have In your bag. I drilled mine 50x3.5x30 very strong in the mid lane and shapes good off the spot.

The 900 Global Zen Soul bowling ball features the same Meditate symmetric core; however, the Zen Soul is the first ball in the Zen line-up to have a hybrid coverstock. This combination should put the Zen Soul right in the middle of the Zen and the Zen Master.
I will start by saying that previous Zen balls didn’t seem to match-up with my style very well, so I drilled my Zen Soul with a pin-down layout, different from my other Zen’s: 55 x 5 x 75. I wanted to see how this core rolls for me when it doesn’t flare as much as my other Zen bowling balls. After throwing the Zen Soul, it seems like this core rolls better for me with the pin-down layout, as the ball was a little bit easier to keep in front of me and still maintain enough shape through first transition of the pattern.
The Zen Soul is probably my favorite ball out of the Zen line-up. As I think this ball likes to roll early, it seems to work well on shorter to medium patterns when I need a slower response bowling ball to control the motion down the lane. Zen Soul is still more of a “specialty” ball to me because it just tends to be to early and to flat down the lane for my ball roll. Because of this “rolly” core and strong coverstock, I can see this ball being good when a bowler needs to blend the wet/dry conditions, especially for bowlers who like throw it faster or tend go around the ball a little more.

The Zen Soul was a great addition to the Zen line. I found in the past the OG Zen with 1500 grit was a little too snappy and unforgiving for me. Once SPI released the 4KFAST, I changed the surface and it gained more confidence in the OG Zen. The Master rolled WAY too early for my style of bowling, then entered the heart of the line up, The Zen Soul, with 4K FAST I was able to use it in a tournament setting, league and practicing. Well rounded ball with great shape early and late, unlike the Master that seemed to “give up” on me, I felt very comfortable playing the ditch with it, using it inside where the other lefties were not, ie: inside of 3rd arrow. The S77 Response cover was an excellent choice to match with the ZEN core. I’m at “peace” when recommending this ball to the average league bowler, they will get great control, a versatile ball that they can depend on week after week.

The Zen series has been one of the most successful ever. Starting with the clean controllable motion of the original zen and then continuing with the stronger earlier reading Zen Master. It was a no brainer to produce a hybrid cover to wrap the very successful Mediate Symmetric core. Enter the Zen Soul.
This ball surprised me a bit with how aggressively it sees the mid-lane. For me it definitely runs closer to the aggressive earlier roll of the Zen Master. It is noticeably cleaner but felt much further for me from the original Zen.
My best look with the Zen Soul is on fresh lane conditions. I do very much like it's continuation and I feel like I have a bit more miss room right with it compared to the Zen Master. My Zen Master was cleaner than alot of other i watched go down the lane, due in large part to my layout. I opted for a layout closer to how I had drilled my original Zen for the Soul and it definitely has a much earlier response by comparison.
The upside is I feel like the Zen soul matches up very well with people who are a bit more speed dominant or have lower rev rates. It is a good first ball out of the bag and will let you stay with it until the fronts dry up, which is when you'll like the original zen better.

900 Global Zen Soul Ball Review
Hey everyone, I’m back with another ball review, and this time it’s for the Zen Soul and in 15 pounds this ball is wrapped in the S77 Response Hybrid Cover and comes 4000 Abralon with an RG of 2.490 and a Diff of 0.051.
Layout for this ball is 5x3x2
When this ball was first announced there was such a buzz about another ZEN coming out but where will it fall with the OG Zen and Zen Master still out there. Being that the Zen Soul is a hybrid it was easy to say that it will be directly in the middle. I have read many other reviews and watched many different ball videos for this one. Many had it closer to the OG Zen as others had it closer to the Zen Master. So how do you know where it will fit or if it is a ball that will fit your arsenal? First and the easiest way is to find a demo in your area. Second is to find someone that throws it closer to you with speed/rev rate and watch more of their reviews. Now I am a average speed with a low rev rate and I found the Zen Soul to be closer to the Zen Master as both balls had surface compared to the Zen. Now I didn’t find them to be directly on top of each other, so I was able to keep the Zen Master and Soul in the same bag. When the Zen Master became too much, I was abler to move a couple of boards left and proceed with the Soul in the same area. The OG Zen having shine was “for me” another step down. All three of these balls do have the same shape and work well together.
BOWLER STYLE: RH - Power Stroker Rev Rate: 320 Ball Speed: 15-16 PAP: 4 7/8 right 5/8 up.

The brand new Zen Soul from 900 Global features the S77 Hybrid Reactive Coverstock wrapped around the Meditate Symmetric Core!
The Zen line has became a staple in my bag, whether it be league or tournaments, and the Zen Soul may be my favorite of the 3. Out of the box, it was one of the strongest symmetrical balls I had in my bag. It was very strong in the mid lane with a controlled backend reaction. I then shined it up, and felt like this was the best decision for me. It got it through the heads a little cleaner, still picked up plenty in the mid lane, with a bit more pop down lane. When comparing it to the OG Zen and Zen Master, it is the best of both worlds, with the mid lane of the Zen Master and the pop on the backend I came to love with the OG Zen.

The Zen Soul features the same Meditate core that is found in the Zen and Zen Master but wraps a new S77 Response Hybrid coverstock around it. The new Zen Soul takes the best of its predecessors and combines them into one ball. Then Zen Soul can handle the higher volume and longer patterns as was the Master, however the Soul adds the backend reaction of the original Zen. And just like the other two Zen balls, this one has the same great hitting power and pin carry. In comparing the Soul to the Master, I have the Soul as about three to four boards less overall hook. This is mainly due to the Soul being much cleaner in the front part of the lane. So when the Master stops kicking out the corner pins and the Zen isn’t strong enough to get to the pocket, the Soul will be the ball that will keep you striking.

The Zen Soul is the perfect complement to the original Zen; the Soul has a similar shape to the Zen, while being able to handle more oil. The hybrid cover of the Soul digs in to the midlane a couple feet earlier than the original Zen, and has a touch more overall hook. It is at home on medium to medium-heavy conditions. Due to the Soul not having too much early traction, I am still able to move left with it. Depending on what lane conditions you see, the Zen Soul could be the first ball out of your bag, and you could move to the first Zen when the Soul starts to see the midlane too quickly. If even heavier oil is seen, the Reality would fit perfectly above the Soul.

Drilled my Zen Soul with a 5 1/4 x 43 pattern putting the pin above and left of my middle finger. My intent with this drilling is for a heavy oil/stronger ball that will retain energy when more backend motion is needed. After throwing this ball, and comparing it go my Gem (which is drilled 55 x 4 3/16 x 45) they should be a pretty solid 1-2 combo on heavier oil patterns. The Gem is much earlier and tumbles so great for when you want to keep the angles in front of you, and when you need to move in and circle, that's where the Zen Soul comes in. I practiced on a THS and was probably about 5 and 5 different (could have likely gone even further) and the Zen Soul made a very strong, much quicker, move off the dry and drove through the pins. So when your strong balls, such as the Gem, starts losing hitting power and you are forced left, the Zen Soul will be a great compliment.

The Zen Soul is a must have if you have the original Zen and Zen Master. The Zen Soul compliments the Zen Master perfectly for when it starts picking up too early and need a little more continuation through the pocket. Comparable to the original Zen, the Zen Soul gives you that little earlier roll that you may be looking for.

The 900 Global Zen Soul is the hybrid family member of the Zen Master and Zen. With its S77 Response hybrid coverstock(two parts pearl one part solid), it definitely gives you the feel of both the Master and Original Zen. I found it to be more closer to the original Zen since the Zen Master had a very very strong solid cover. My original Zen came in in the 4K Fast, which had it a little too close to my Zen Soul to play them off each other, but once I added the the 1500 grit polish to it I saw the difference they were intended to be. The Zen Soul definitely has more bite towards the middle part of the lane and can be what one could want to start with out of the bag if the Original Zen is not enough on the fresh. Both balls are outstanding in the Zen line and can either be a great 1-2 punch or having one or the other depending on what you already have in your arsenal.

Well I finally had the chance to put this ball in my hands and I love it. Rolls very smooth for me. It reads the lane really well. Once you let go, you can watch it read the mid lane very well. Then when it hits the back end, it hits very well. The Zen is a great ball, goes a little longer mid lane and longer on the back end with more back end snap. The Soul reads a little sooner and rolls right into the pocket. The surface, I left it right out of the box. I wanna see what happens once it gets some lane shine on it. I have around 30 games on it and its holding up well. Never had to mess with the surface yet. It will be in my bag pretty much all the time lol!

If you were on a fan of the original Zen as almost everyone is don't miss out on the Zen Soul. Definitely a perfect addition to the Zen Line. The Soul will start sooner, handle more oil, and create more hook but still retain the shape and reaction that made the original Zen so popular.

900 Global Zen Soul
Cover stock: S77 Hybrid Reactive
Core: Meditate Core (Symmetrical)
The Zen Soul adds hybrid version to the Zen line, landing somewhat in the middle of the Zen (pearl) and Zen Master (Solid).
The Zen Soul was the first ball I drilled in my 2 handed experiment.
For me, I would say my 2 handed drilled Soul is closer to my 1 handed Zen, vs my 1 handed Zen Master.
Zen vs Zen Soul:
Soul---a touch stronger, earlier, and smoother overall.
The Zen was, and still is, a staple in many of my customers bags.
The Soul will add a similar benchmark reaction with a little more strength.
Comparing to other current popular pieces...it is a step down from the RST-x3, Nova, Reality Check and a step up from the Hyped, Electrify, Idol lines.
