Performance Analysis

Performance Analysis

The Vengeance Returns revives one of 900 Global’s most popular symmetric solids and gives it a smarter cover. The Blast A.I. core is unchanged where it counts: a low 2.47 RG and a big .055 differential, numbers that put it in benchmark-plus territory and produce the heavy, flaring midlane roll the original Vengeance was known for. What changes is the shell. The original’s RB91 solid read early and used a lot of its energy in the front half of the lane; the Returns wraps the same engine in RB91 Hybrid at the Power Edge finish, which lets it clear the fronts cleaner and store more energy for the back.

The result, per 900 Global, is more length with strong midlane control and a decisive, continuous move through the pins rather than a skid-flip snap. That is exactly what the spec sheet predicts: a strong symmetric core at this differential flares enough to keep the ball driving, while the hybrid cover shifts the read point down the lane compared to the solid. Early coverage of the announcement, including Luke Rosdahl’s breakdown of the June drop, framed this and the Viking Conquest as the upper-mid performance pieces 900 Global’s lineup had been missing. Surface is the obvious tuning lever: hit it with a lower grit pad and it behaves closer to the original, leave the factory finish and it is a cleaner, more modern shape.

Who Is This Ball For?

This is a league bowler’s first-out-of-the-bag ball on typical medium-heavy house conditions and a strong tournament piece when the fresh is not flooded. If you loved the original Vengeance, this is the same motion with more usable length, and if you found the original too early, the hybrid cover addresses exactly that complaint. Rev-dominant players get a core that keeps turning through the pins, and speed-dominant players can scuff the surface to bring the read point back without changing the shape.

It is not the ball for true fresh heavy oil, where its sanded asymmetric stablemate the Viking Conquest takes over, and it is more ball than light or burned conditions call for. As the symmetric workhorse in the middle of an arsenal at $184.95, it is one of the easier recommendations of the June drop.

The Pros

  • Proven Blast A.I. symmetric core (2.47 RG, .055 differential) brings back the heavy-rolling motion that made the original Vengeance a house-shot destroyer
  • New RB91 Hybrid cover with the Power Edge finish gets through the fronts cleaner than the original solid, saving energy for the backend
  • Strong, continuous symmetric motion without the over/under of an angular asymmetric, so it stays readable as the pattern transitions
  • At $184.95 it slots in under most flagship-level symmetrics with comparable core numbers

The Cons

  • Not a fresh heavy-oil flagship: on the heaviest volume the hybrid cover can be too clean, and the Viking Conquest is the stronger choice
  • Hybrid at Power Edge will still want a surface adjustment for bowlers who need an earlier read
  • Ships June 26, so it is pre-order only right now

The 900 Global Vengeance Returns brings back a fan favorite with the proven RB 91 Hybrid coverstock, creating a versatile option that fits perfectly in the middle of any arsenal. I drilled mine 5 x 3 and have been extremely impressed with how well it bridges the gap between my larger asymmetrical pieces and my Storm Bionic. The overall shape is very similar to the Bionic, but the Vengeance Returns is a touch cleaner through the front part of the lane and retains just a little more energy down lane. That added energy retention translates into a stronger continuation through the pins without sacrificing the smooth, predictable motion that makes this type of ball so valuable. When my bigger asymmetrical balls start reading the lane too early, the Vengeance Returns is the perfect ball down to maintain shape and carry. Whether you're bowling on typical house conditions or transitioning sport patterns, this ball offers the versatility needed to stay in play longer and keep your angles in front of you. The Vengeance Returns is going to be a must-have for bowlers heading into the fall season. If you're looking for a dependable benchmark-style reaction that blends the lane while still providing plenty of continuation, this ball deserves a spot in your bag.

Right Hand - 15.5 mph down lane, 335 +/-, PAP 4.75, 1/2 up. House shot at Bowlero Edmond. The 900 Global Vengeance Returns is a fantastic addition to the 900 Global lineup, it brings back the proven Vengeance-style shape. This ball is designed to give bowlers a strong, readable motion on medium to medium-heavy oil conditions. The first thing you notice with the Vengeance Returns is how predictable it is. The ball reads the lane early enough to give you confidence through the fronts and mid-lane, but it still stores enough energy to create a strong, continuous move through the pins. It does not feel overly jumpy off the spot. The hybrid cover gives this ball a great balance of traction and responsiveness. It handles typical league conditions extremely well. Bowlers looking for a ball that can be the first option out of the bag will really appreciate how versatile this piece can be. Where the Vengeance Returns shines is its ability to blend the lane. It creates a smooth but powerful shape that works well for players who like to play angles without sacrificing hitting power. It is strong and has continuous motion through the pins. Can be a great benchmark reaction for medium oil and will be versatile for many styles of bowlers The 900 Global Vengeance Returns is a dependable, high-performance bowling ball that gives you the control, versatility, and power. Core: 900 Global Blast AI Core Symmetrical Core Coverstock: 900 Global RB 91 Hybrid Reactive RG (15LB): 2.47 Diff (15LB): .055 The 900 Global Vengeance Returns has quickly become one of those balls I can trust when I need a consistent look on medium to medium-heavy conditions. It gives me a strong, readable motion without feeling too aggressive or unpredictable. The ball picks up in the mid-lane well, but still clears the fronts clean enough to keep energy for the backend. What I like most is that it doesn’t overreact off the spot and it gives a smooth, controlled move that makes it easier to stay lined up and blend out transition. What really stood out to me was how well it continues through the pins. Compared to some stronger asymmetrical pieces that can start reading too early, The Vengeance Returns lets me stay in the same zone longer while keeping great hitting power. It has enough down-lane motion to carry well but stays controlled and predictable. For league conditions especially, this feels like a great benchmark ball and one I could see being the first ball out of my bag most nights because of how versatile and dependable it is.

Vengeance Returns - Ball Specs Cover Stock: RB91 Hybrid Finish: 2000 Grt Core: Blast A.I. RG: 2.47 Differential: 0.055 Review The 900 Global Vengeance is the real deal. If you liked the original Zen you will love the Vengeance. It just feels stronger on the backend. It is also cleaner through the fronts with more backend than the Vengeance solid. The Vengeance Returns features RB91 hybrid coverstock combined with the Blast AI core. The Vengeance Returns has my normal five inch pin up layout. I tested this ball on a 43 foot typical house pattern. As a mid to low rev player I could stand anywhere from the 18 board to the 30 board without losing any hitting power. This ball will be in my bag for leagues and tournaments. This is a great ball for all levels of bowlers. Order one from your local pro shop today! My ball review videos are posted on YouTube channel Stanley Waite.
