Ebonite GB5 Review

It rolls exactly what I want. Goes down the lane a bit longer but has a smooth flare to the pocket. Had a couple deuces in league Monday night. I love the dull flat finish.

Layout: 60x5x30 Hands down this the most controlled ball I have rolled in years. If you are looking for a benchmark ball, this should be your go-to ball. The ball is a little cleaner than a GB4 solid with a bit more downlane than it as well. I found the GB4 to hook a bit early and risk leaving more flat 10s than this ball. This ball will undoubtedly blend out a wet/dry condition and should be great the first 2 games of league.

The GB5 is the definition of benchmark ball motion. Same great core with an updated stronger cover intended for more traction and hook in the oil. Similar to the GB4 but with more continuation. This ball easily lets me know how the lanes are playing and the moves that might need to be made.

I’m so happy to have a Game Breaker back in my bag as my benchmark ball. I drilled mine 50x5x25. It wasn’t as early as as the GB4 and it had a little more pop down lane. I really liked that because I was able to stay in my GB5 a little longer before I had to make a ball change.

It’s a game breaker! The gb5 is the newest release in the game breaker line. Out of box the gb5 is a lot of hook but mine quickly shined up a bit and fell in line with the benchmark smooth motion gamebreaker fans have loved for years. Much like its predecessor the gb4 solid I felt like this was to strong for the benchmark motion I wanted out of box. 6 games in and it settled into that spot of my bag. This is a great addition to the ebonite line and creates a great 1-2 punch with the gb4 hybrid.

The Ebonite Game Breaker 5 (GB5) is the newest benchmark ball out on the market. It is earlier than the GB4 and much stronger through the pins. I have only used this ball on fresh patterns and house shot, and it does not disappoint. Overall, this ball is smooth through the lane and strong on the hook potential. This is a great option for being the first ball out of the bag for league or tournament play.

The new Ebonite GB5 quickly proves itself to be the benchmark ball you've come to expect from the Game Breaker series and they keep getting better. Out of the box the GB5 picks up pretty early but remains controllable throughout the lane and through the pins. So far I've only used it on THS and the shot at my local center that can classified by most as a sport pattern. Good job on keeping the tradition with the GB5, Ebonite!!

I really like Gamebreakers as a whole. The GB5 has a very strong cover that is great on medium to heavy oil and gives a very readable, continuous arc to the pocket. It is a great benchmark ball and the cover is versatile as it is great dull out of the box and can shine up for a more gradual response.

Really loving this ball so far, I am a 150 avg but since this I got this ball my score has jumped major, shot a 590 series with it which for me is a huge improvement.

We all know what the Game Breaker series is all about. It's your benchmark type ball at a price point that won't break the bank. The GB5 is much earlier than the GB4 was. It can handle more oil with more continuation than the 4. All thanks to a stronger cover, the GB 12.7 Solid. There's a new benchmark ball in town, the GB5 by Ebonite!

Excellent benchmark ball. Already have one before and this is my second time to buy it.

The GB5 has been my benchmark for medium to heavy oil conditions. It's incredibly smooth and predictable. The first time I used this ball was on a heavy oil challenge pattern and averaged 229, and placed 6th for scratch series. I have also been using it in league play, which is on a higher volume ths and have averaged 249 over nine games. I can see this ball being great on a variety of patterns for all types of bowlers. Ball speed: 15.5 - 16.5 mph Rev Rate: 230 - 270

The GB5 comes out of the box strong with an early break and sweeping hook. Great for playing over 3rd arrow, just be prepared to put a lil stank on it to avoid it running away too early. Put a 2000 surface on this ball and watch it really preform. It becomes long, strong and down to get the friction on, delivering a snappy hard motion to the pocket.
