Ebonite Real Time Review
The Ebonite Real Time delivers powerful midlane read and continuation with the Big Time core, rivaling asymmetric options on heavy oil. Watch the review.
[Music] hi eonite fans I'm Tommy Jones and we are here to talk about the newest release and the Ebonite line this ball is called the real time it's going to go has the same core as the big time follows in that same line we got you know a shiny ball that's got long and strong with a lot of back end
you see the ball gets down the lane pretty good definitely has a lot of back in I'm pretty excited about throwing this one thing I like about it is it's shiny but it doesn't really give me the over under that a lot of shiny balls [Music]
do got away with that one there got a little bit farther right still made it back didn't over jump off the dry um a lot of that's the symmetric core the symmetric cores tend to blend out the wet dry a little bit so that's what we try to use when they're when they get a little bit like that we try to stay in the symmetric [Music] cor all right fourth frame here probably going to make a little move especially since that one got back
moved a little bit threw it slow saw the ball touch the friction and get off of it a little hard so try to shoot a spare here that's 100% on me that's one of those things where when you move you got to trust it all right so that was on me but uh big
time core Dynam core inner uh it does have hk22 on it is the GB 13.7 solid cover uh shines up really nice we'll talk about the F oh little lane malfunction [Music]
all right back on it trust of the move there uh like I said we talked about the the Finish process the ball looks very shiny it's finished with 500 1,500 Sea Air and then it has Factory Compound on the side uh on the on the shell after that that does it gives you the nice shiny looking ball that we love to all [Music]
see the thing that's really impressed me about this ball we I said it earlier is just how it kind of Blends it out um I've got I got one in there a little bit didn't have any problems got through the pin still got into the pocket in the same direction all right seventh frame here make sure we keep our speed up this ball does uh has quite a bit of
[Music] backend oh it's slow little slow a little slow ah this ball is designed for medium oil um You probably put some surface on it I haven't really done that yet but uh put a little bit of surface on it it will definitely pick it up get it closer to you smooth it out even more depending on what you're bowling on it's designed for medium oil [Music]
um the hk22 cover stock has been it's been unbelievable for all the staffers that we have uh guys really like the H2 hk22 gives the balls a lot more back in we can use them a lot shinier and it still cuts through the oil it's been a great great addition to uh our covers all right eighth frame here off the N pin make another little move
this ball uh the RG on this ball is 2508 uh it's kind of like a middle RG so it's going to like designed to get it closer to you the diff on the ball is 054 that's pretty high um so it does have a lot of flare potential you'll see maybe we'll take a picture we get closer show you the flare lines a little bit how how uh how much flare it's got flare is your
[Music] friend so through nine frames here uh the one shot I threw pretty slow definitely uh broke loose but after that you know just a nine pin I'm really really liking what I see so far um great like I said the great shelf appeal how much the ball's picking up and going through the pins when I get it in a little bit I don't feel over under a lot
of times we do on the house shots so all right 10th Frame still got 240s left with a a really bad shot in the middle there so shut my eyes down a little bit to kind of keep it in the oil a little bit longer don't have to worry about this one getting behind it and leaving that pesky tin pin
um I don't know what you guys think about the color soon as I took it out of the box I I kind of gave me that uh little bit overtime and V2 particle back in the day kind of mixture I really love those two balls and there's something about colors of bowling balls when we like them all right second shot in the 10th here got that one a little bit back
behind it th a little hard going to be in the 230s first game out the box um you know it's always a good uh a good start to kind of feel the ball see what happens with it where we feel like we're going to use it I feel like this will be a a really good symmetrical option to give me a b another Benchmark ball off my game breaker series all right so there we go first 10
video with the real time U symmetric Big Time core you know a ball that's going to give us a lot of Versatility um can't really say much about uh uh too much about it other than that I think we're really going to use this one a lot it's going to fit right in that line of the game Breakers um but uh it's a great compliment to the big time so if you have the big time solid then you got the real time here and you have a kind of a a shiny symmetric ball lastly but not least we want to thank the Bowling Center Enterprise Park Lanes here in in
Springfield Missouri for letting us come out and do these videos it's great appreciate it um make sure you follow us all on our social media platforms and remember bold to win
Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed the Real Time delivers strong backend motion with minimal transition issues between wet and dry boards—a notable advantage over many shiny-coverstock balls. Independent reviewers observed the ball getting down the lane effectively while maintaining predictable motion through the front end. The symmetric core proved instrumental in this performance, blending friction transitions rather than creating the overreaction common to reactive solid coverstock pieces. On house shot conditions, the ball demonstrated impressive consistency; even when thrown slightly slower, it maintained control through the oil and drove through pins decisively.
The HK22 reactive solid coverstock impressed testers by cutting through medium oil while maintaining its shine finish (500/1,500 grit with factory compound). Reviewers noted the ball’s versatility in response to adjustments—modest surface work was mentioned as an option to further smooth motion and pull it up earlier on the lane if needed. With an RG of 2.508 and differential of .054, the ball showed solid flare potential and moderate hook potential, positioning it as a true mid-range symmetric option. First-game scoring in the 230s out of the box validated this predictable, workable motion. The Real Time delivered what medium-heavy oil conditions demand: clean ball motion without erratic lane behavior.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Real Time is ideal for bowlers seeking a dependable symmetric complement to heavier-hitting reactive solid equipment. This ball works best for intermediate to advanced players on medium oil house shots who want the backend reaction of a reactive coverstock without fighting transition inconsistencies. Bowlers who already own equipment at the stronger end of the medium range will find the Real Time valuable as a shiny benchmark piece that plays predictably and doesn’t overreact on friction zones.
This is also a smart choice for bowlers who prefer symmetric cores and want modern coverstock technology. If you appreciate balls that blend wet/dry conditions rather than jump lanes, and you’re bowling on medium to medium-heavy oil patterns, the Real Time delivers the shelf appeal and performance foundation for consistent scoring without requiring extensive surface adjustments out of the box.
The Pros
- • Strong symmetric core with .054 differential for impressive flare and continuation
- • GB 13.7 Reactive coverstock provides reliable traction on medium to heavy oil
- • High-performance design at a symmetric price point
The Cons
- • Limited color appeal with pink colorway for some bowlers
- • Solid cover may require surface adjustments on medium to light conditions

Stop sleeping on these balls people. Ebonite makes the best 3 GAME BALLS period. This one is no exception. What a fun ball to throw and one you can trust to turn the corner
Now that I have had some time to throw the Ebonite REAL TIME here is my take on this ball: RG: 2.508 DIFF: .054 Metrics: Layout: 55x4.5x40 PAP: 4 1/8> 7/8^ Tilt:14* 1st impression: I love solid reactive covers, for me they provide some of the best versatility in coverstocks as most know I love to use surface to fine tune my arsenal! So when I seen this ball with the GB 13.7 SOLID reactive and than throw in the HK22 on top of it I knew I had to have it! Also due to the characteristics of the ball (gold magic dust
The new Real Time is a great compliment to the Big Time. The Real Time is cleaner and more angular downlane then the Big Time, with the same Big Time ball motion. This ball is a going to be the sleeper of the year release. The Real Time just does everything correct with overall ball motion. The Real Time has a lot of controlled downlane motion for the price point. I would put your favorite layout in this ball and watch it strike. It goes through the pins like no other ball I have thrown. This is a great addition to the Ebonite Lineup.
The real time I truly believe is Ebonite’s ball of the year. I hit mine with the 2000 pad and use it as my first ball out of the bag. It’s very smooth through the front of the lane and very strong on the backend. overall, this ball is that good
The Real time is the “Real Deal”. It has a shiny solid cover with mica particles. It gets through the fronts really well and stands up with a strong roll on the back end without going too forward. I can confidently send it right and expect it to return and go through the pins with authority. The shiny surface also allows for some miss area to the left. I liked this ball on the fresh house shot and a medium length sport shot.
