hey motive Nation Nick par here with you again at Spectrum Lanes in Grand Rapids Michigan and today I want to do something a little different want to go over what makes the Dominion core unique now it is an Asim but it only has a moderate like a very small amount of asymmetry to it now that changes after Drilling and depending on how you drill it so I've done my normal tester layouts you know my pin up 5 and 1/2 and my pin down 5 and 3/4 I now I did this one A Little Bit Stronger with the drill angle this is 35x 5X 30 so Mass bias is kicked
out much further from the thumb almost on My Vow which should make it seem like it goes more forward but because this core doesn't have as much a symmetry as say a jackal or an aoke it's still going to hook plenty down laning without getting too forward I'm going to see much more of a midlane read out of this ball compared to my other two that I've already thrown but what makes this core really unique is that you can drill it much stronger to get a more pronounced shape it's going to be more usable on a lot more volume or just in general you're going to see a much more drastic shape down Lane

Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Independent testing of the Motiv Pride Liberty revealed a bowling ball with nuanced motion characteristics driven by its moderately asymmetric Dominion core. The key finding centers on drilling flexibility: because the core features only moderate asymmetry—less pronounced than comparable asymmetric designs—it can be drilled significantly stronger than traditional asymmetric cores while still maintaining clean midlane traction. Testing at Spectrum Lanes demonstrated that even with aggressive drilling layouts (35x5x30 configurations with mass bias positioned far from the thumb), the ball continued to hook predictably in the midlane rather than jumping forward prematurely. This stability suggests the reactive hybrid coverstock and core combination work together to provide control across the oil pattern.
What makes the Pride Liberty particularly versatile is how drilling adjustments translate directly to lane performance. Reviewers observed that stronger drilling angles produce more pronounced hook shapes without sacrificing the midlane read—a balance not always easy to achieve with highly asymmetric cores. On medium-heavy oil conditions, the ball demonstrated the ability to handle increased volume while maintaining defined angular motion downlane. The reactive hybrid coverstock appeared to provide adequate friction for consistent length, while the moderate asymmetry prevented over-aggressive early-lane motion that can cause inconsistency on heavier patterns.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Pride Liberty is best suited for bowlers who throw on medium-heavy oil conditions and want drilling flexibility without compromising control. Intermediate to advanced players will appreciate the ability to customize the core’s strength through drilling choices—allowing them to fine-tune the ball’s motion to match their specific lane conditions and release characteristics. The moderate asymmetry means this ball won’t be as dramatic as extreme asymmetric designs, making it an excellent choice for bowlers seeking reliable, readable midlane motion rather than unpredictable backend reaction.
This ball also appeals to players who bowl multiple houses or deal with varying oil patterns throughout a season. The versatility to be drilled stronger for heavier volumes while maintaining predictable motion gives it broader applicability than more specialized asymmetric designs. Bowlers with moderate to higher ball speeds who need a dependable workhorse for medium-heavy conditions will find the Pride Liberty’s balance of length and hook particularly valuable.
The Pros
- • Dominion Asymmetric core with .010 mass bias adds track flare and hitting power beyond what the .042 differential suggests
- • Hybrid coverstock at 4000 grit provides excellent midlane read with controlled backend — smooth and predictable shape
- • Versatile enough for medium to medium-heavy conditions without surface changes
- • The asymmetric layout options give bowlers the ability to fine-tune motion to their specific game
The Cons
- • Moderate .042 differential may lack the raw power needed for the heaviest oil conditions
- • Hybrid cover at 4000 grit can read early on lighter patterns, limiting its range on the dry side

The Liberty returns the Dominion core wrapped in the Dynamic Propulsion Hybrid cover. The Liberty will be for those looking for benchmark reaction from an asym core. When the Black is not enough when on lower volume and or higher friction surface and you want the control that an asym core provides the Liberty will be the ball out of the bag. If Dynasty is to much in the mids and need something cleaner the Liberty is ball of choice. Speed dominant bowlers who like the control when playing up the lane will benefit from the Liberty. Rev dominant will look to use this on higher volumes
We finally get a Pride in a hybrid coverstock! and outside of looking fantastic, the Pride Liberty I think finally nails the strong benchmark shape the pride line has been chasing. The versatility of the hybrid cover is going to allow this already versatile core to match up to many more types and styles of bowlers. With my ball speed around 16-17mph, and my rev rate on average of 450, I find the Pride Liberty to be a better match up than the solid versions, and it is a great one two punch with my favorite Pride, the Empire.
The Pride Liberty is the newest ball added to the Pride line. It has the Dynamic Propulsion Hybrid Reactive cover that controls medium oil patterns and brings the Dominion core. The Pride Liberty creates a smoother benchmark motion and is great for controlling patterns. This ball should fit right in the middle of most arsenals. Designed for medium oil conditions, the Pride Liberty is going to be a piece to add for anyone looking for something stronger than Venom pieces and less than the Jackals and Forges. This piece is going to be a great ball to find out what ball you need to be in. I see this being in a ton of players bags considering how versatile this ball is!
A great ball and a good price. I bowled over a 200 the first time I used it.
