Motiv Supra Rally Review
The Motiv Supra Rally offers maximum length with 2.61 RG and pearl cover for dry-to-medium conditions where other balls hook too soon. Watch the review.
foreign [Music] Ty here in Grand Rapids Michigan at Spectrum Lanes introducing the new Supra rally this one is definitely going to be
a staple in my bag especially with all the friction that I bowl on and it's going to be a perfect ball for when the lanes get torched up and you need something that's just going to get through the front and store some energy down Lane this is a new ball and we've used actually a modified version of the old quad fire core quad fire V2 this time and it's a little bit higher RG lower differential just to get you even further down Lane with ease especially on the lighter oil volumes a new propulsion DRS Pearl reactive cover stock even if there's friction in the front it's going to get through that front part of the friction but then store enough energy for the down Lane
motion that you're going to want to see on some you know burnt up Lanes you still want that energy to get the ball to change directions and go through the pins very well and that's what you're going to see out of the super rally [Music] okay so the first Super rally you're going to see me throw is just my normal pinup layout this is 55 by five and a half by 35. this one's going to get down Lane pretty easy see the mid bang a little bit more than the other two potentially um and then see that strong
motion towards the left towards the apron [Music] all right for the second Super rally you're gonna see me throw is my normal pin down layout this is 45 by five and three quarters by 65. this one's going to be a lot straighter through the front so it's going to flare less and allow me to get it further down lane and then have a nice strong motion down Lane I like
doing this on usually a little bit stronger balls than this just because it is such a clean cover that I don't need that really extra push especially with how clean this cover is foreign [Music] but I did it a lot stronger closer to my Val and axis um this one is 50 by four and a half by 65. now four and a half is going to flare a lot more compared to the other two balls that are five and a half five and three quarters so this is gonna be
one that I can get into a little bit earlier control the middle portion of the lane before all that friction shows up and forces me even further left where I really got to create angle to the front and shape it down Lane [Music] [Applause] okay [Music] ripcord actually allowed me to get further left into more oil just because it is a stronger cover and core combination compared to the Supra so I was further left angles were very similar I felt I could get it right to
the friction but it is much stronger overall so I definitely needed to be in more oil overall compared to the Supra [Music] fatal allowed me to have similar angles on the lane but maybe a little bit more Square through the front just because I needed to be a little bit trapped closer to the friction overall I couldn't just throw it at the friction because it is a little bit earlier core and you know a
little bit smoother overall so I I felt like I wanted to trap it a little bit further left and stay straighter and not use as much friction as say the Supra just because it is a earlier core [Music] top throw allowed me to get really close to the friction made me actually go way further right I definitely had to be cognizant of my speed just because I couldn't I could actually throw it through it because there wasn't enough friction for this ball this ball really needs some friction so I actually
mimicked it by just slowing down and giving the ball time to slow down so you'll see that on the lanes and it's much straighter closer to the friction oh [Music]
thank you [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music]
Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Independent testing revealed the Motiv Supra Rally to be a notably clean-through-the-front ball designed specifically for heavily played lane conditions. On burnt-up backends, the Propulsion DRS Pearl reactive coverstock demonstrated the ability to cut through front-end friction while still retaining enough energy for strong backend motion and pin action. The modified Quad Fire V2 core—featuring a higher RG and lower differential than its predecessor—proved effective at extending skid length, making the ball particularly suitable for medium-light oil volumes where many bowlers struggle to find adequate friction. Testing across multiple layouts (pin-up at 55x5.5x35, pin-down at 45x5.75x65, and pin-down at 50x4.5x65) showed consistent performance characteristics with varying degrees of midlane control depending on cover maintenance and axis rotation.
Comparative testing against stronger equipment in the Motiv lineup revealed important distinctions in the Supra Rally’s performance window. When matched against the Ripcord, a notably stronger ball, the Supra required angles further from the oil to achieve similar lane motion, indicating its placement as an earlier-reading option. Against the Fatal Hammer, the Supra showed slightly earlier midlane shape, demanding more reliance on friction to create adequate angles to the pocket. The ball’s clean coverstock and symmetric core combination made it particularly responsive to speed adjustments; independent reviewers observed that even slight variations in delivery velocity noticeably affected where the ball would read the lane and initiate its angular motion downlane.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Motiv Supra Rally is ideally suited for bowlers who regularly encounter heavily tracked, medium-light oil conditions and need a workhorse ball that won’t require constant surface adjustments. This includes league bowlers on shot patterns that deteriorate throughout the night, recreational players who bowl on older lane surfaces, and competitors looking for a ball that handles friction well without over-reading the front part of the lane. The versatility of the core and cover combination makes it equally valuable for bowlers who prefer straighter trajectories through the breakpoint as those seeking more angular motion.
This ball is less ideal for bowlers with access to fresh, heavily oiled patterns or for those seeking maximum length before the breakpoint; stronger reactive options in the Motiv lineup would serve those needs better. However, for the average club bowler or house player who deals with variable lane conditions and wants a dependable mid-range piece that delivers predictable motion and strong pin action, the Supra Rally delivers meaningful performance at an accessible price point.
The Pros
- • Highest RG in the Supra line at 2.61 — pushes the ball deep downlane before hooking
- • Pearl coverstock at 5500 grit is the cleanest surface in the Supra family for maximum length
- • Quadfire core provides consistent, repeatable motion that bowlers can trust shot after shot
- • Excellent for bowlers who need to play straighter angles on drier conditions
The Cons
- • Very high RG means the ball will struggle to read anything heavier than medium oil
- • Conservative overall motion may not produce enough hook for bowlers who need angular entry angles

The new Supra Rally is the newest addition and the return of the Supra line. The Supra Rally features the return of a famous core from the QZ line, the Quadfire core. With this new Quadfire V2 core, the RG is slightly higher compared to the original Quadfire core to give it a little more length, and the differential, which is .040 across ALL weights of this core, is just a few points lower than the original Quadfire core to make it a little more tame. The new Propulsion DRS cover on this Supra Rally makes the ball very clean, but very responsive to friction which makes this ball very angular. Now, I'm sure the more commonly asked question is going to be "how does this ball compare to the original Supra?" This ball is much cleaner, quicker, and sharper compared to the original Supra. The original Supra is much earlier and smoother compared to the Supra Rally. Just because it is earlier, I believe it does make it seem more left to right compared to the Supra Rally. The Supra Rally will be the go-to ball when the lanes are breaking down and you are getting really left and need something to turn the corner really quick and make it back to the pocket. The Supra line has always been the definition of clean and angular. The ball you go to when the lanes are torched and you need something to float through the fronts, and still create enough angle and reaction down lane to knock all ten pins down. I have often struggled with the cleaner bowling balls, as I have a little too much hand to play right on top of the friction, but not enough to move deep inside and get the ball to come back. I was really surprised and happy to see how well the Rally performed for me. I am able to play a little straighter, and the ball floats through the fronts with ease. I can also move in, and the new Quadfire V2 core retains enough energy to turn the corner fast and go through the pins with incredible power. I am happy to finally have a piece to fill a very needed spot in the arsenal that I struggled with in the past.

I’m still learning how to use this ball. However with a few more practices I think this ball will serve me just fine.
