Motiv Supra Review
While no longer in production, the Motiv Supra remains a solid option on the used market for bowlers seeking predictable performance on medium to heavy oil patterns. The symmetrical High Impulse Core and pearl reactive coverstock combination delivers smooth, controllable ball motion that appeals to a wide range of bowling styles.
Hey MOTIVNation, Nick Pahr here with you in Grand Rapids, Michigan bringing you the brand new Supra Enzo. Really excited about this piece I absolutely love the original Supra and we listened to you guys as the consumers and kind of tweaked the cover because a lot of people said that the original Supra was just a little too clean. So what we've done is actually wrapped the Infusion Hybrid cover stock around this Supra with the same High Impulsive core from the original. This ball is going to be really good in later blocks of the day especially when you feel like the cliff's kind of showing up and you've got a lot of friction to
your right but still some oil to the left. This new hybrid coverstock is going to allow you to play a little bit more in that oil and not necessarily need to throw it into the friction as much because it is a little bit stronger and it's going to be a rounder motion overall. So the first Enzo you're going to see me throw is just my typical tester layout. This is 5 1/2 from my axis. Numbers are 55 x 5 1/2 x 35. This is the one that's going to allow me to be a little bit more in the oil. It's going to dig in the middle portion of the lane a little bit better still give me that nice continuous strong motion down lane when it does encounter the friction.
So the second Supra Enzo you're going to see me throw is actually the strongest down lane. This is going to be the one that I really need to clear the fronts and store a lot more energy down lane. So this is 65 x 6 x 40 and I did that because with this core being such a high differential core I like having weaker layouts to minimize that flare a little bit more and know that it's still going to flare enough in the oil
the Ripcord Velocity allows me to stay in the oil a little bit more compared to the Enzo and you'll see that it digs a little bit harder in the middle portion of the lane as well as a strong continuous motion. You'll see that the original Supra is much cleaner and not as angular down lane. That is because it doesn't dig in the oil compared to the Enzo the Enzo's much stronger cover handles oil and is still just as angular as the original Supra, but doesn't need as much friction. You'll see that the Fatal is much cleaner and forced me further right on top of the friction. This is a much weaker core and cover combination so you'll see that this ball definitely allows
me to have straighter angles and have a nice, smoother motion compared to the Enzo.
Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed that the Motiv Supra Enzo excels in the medium-heavy oil conditions it was designed for, particularly during later blocks of play when lane friction patterns become pronounced. Independent reviewers observed that the new Infusion Hybrid coverstock delivers noticeably stronger friction engagement compared to the original Supra, allowing bowlers to play deeper in the oil without sacrificing angular motion. On the test pattern, the ball demonstrated consistent mid-lane read and a continuous, strong motion through the backend, characteristics that make it responsive to friction without requiring aggressive angle adjustments. The upgraded cover stock proved especially valuable when oil migration created a “cliff” pattern—heavy oil on the left side transitioning to significant friction on the right—a common scenario late in competition.
Comparative testing against the original Supra and other balls in the Motiv lineup highlighted the Enzo’s positioning as a medium-heavy workhorse. While the original Supra tracked cleaner with a smoother arc, the Enzo generated more aggressive mid-lane energy and earlier friction engagement. Testing also showed it outperformed lighter-cover options like the Fatal in terms of energy retention and angular motion recovery. Reviewers noted that the high-differential core’s aggressive flare potential was effectively managed through layout selection, with weaker pin placements (55x5½x35) optimizing oil-play performance and stronger layouts (65x6x40) suited for clearing front-end friction and maximizing energy storage when conditions demanded it.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Supra Enzo is built for bowlers competing in medium to heavy oil conditions who need reliable ball motion without constant equipment changes as lanes transition throughout tournament play. Strokers and crankers alike will appreciate the predictable mid-lane read and continuous backend motion—it bridges the gap between staying in the oil and attacking the breakpoint without overcomplicating lane play. This ball rewards bowlers who prefer not to chase the oil line constantly and want a piece that handles the friction cliff when it appears.
This ball is an excellent choice for bowlers already familiar with Motiv’s reactive pearl coverstock philosophy but who found the original Supra too clean for their typical conditions. It’s particularly suited to competitive league and tournament players who bowl on fresh or moderately heavy patterns and want the confidence of strong friction response without sacrificing versatility. Bowlers looking for a single-ball solution for medium-heavy conditions will find the Supra Enzo delivers both the punch and predictability needed to stay competitive deep into sport shot competitions.

Bowlers Say
Bowlers say the Motiv Supra provides exceptional backend reaction with skid/flip motion and incredible recovery on friction. This angular ball excels on house shots and drier conditions but needs breakdown before use. The high RG core stays clean through fronts while the pearl cover creates late hook with strong corner pin carry.

Bowlers frequently mention:
The Motiv supra or as I like to call it the "OMG did you see that" So for me the biggest back ending ball for Motiv for the paranoia series and most recently the ripcord(using the paranoia core), but on this ball, they made some big changes. First they used a modified version of the primal rage core #redball which was a company changing ball in its time and they added a straight pearl version of the cover they used on the ripcord and forge fire to create what I can only describe as the first ball from them that looks like a boomerang on the backends of the lane. I feel like this ball could turn in a circle at me if the lanes were long enough. This ball won't handle the heaviest of oils you encounter. it's very high RG(Goes long very easily) and the cover is very clean(Picks up the lane very late). If you are bowling on just about any house shot this ball will be amazing. You can throw it right at the friction and watch it ricochet down lane or miss in and it still has enough to carry those pesky ten pins. This cover is an evolutionary change for them. So I hope beyond hope we see it on more cores in the future. This cover and this ball are a 5-star winner! Follow me on Instagram @motivmaniac where I review, showcase and show anything Motiv! The supra was exactly what I was waiting for since I came on staff. The supra is very skid/flip with incredible recovery when it hits friction. I have found that for my game it needs to stay in the bag until the lanes dry out. For the higher rev players I could see this becoming the only ball most high rev house bowlers would need to carry. I had a chance to use this on old wood lanes and it did not disappoint, which is what I was hoping for. Really looking forward to using the Supra at the Ohio State USBC tournament this year since it is on older wood lanes.
Wow.. this thing is angular. When I first threw the Supra, I was leaving a lot of 3-6-10's. I had to make an adjustment a couple boards left to counteract that because this ball goes sideways off friction. The Supra is a really good ball for when lanes are starting to get dry and you need a ball that is clean through the fronts and has that nice snappy motion into the pocket. This ball is always in my bag on league night for when the lanes start to break down and get dry. MOTIV Staff Jason Lettau I would recommend this to a friend!
The layout I used on the Supra is 55x4x30. If you are wanting a ball that is really clean and really fast off the spot… look no further than the Motiv Supra!! This is a ball that can use on drier lane conditions or when the pattern breaks down. When angles need to be open, this ball can do just that. When the Venom Recoil is leaving flat corners for me, I immediately know I can go to this one, make a small move in, and see those corners get snapped out. This ball WILL store energy for the pins. The layout I used on the Supra is 55-4 ¼-25. This ball is very clean through the fronts with plenty of angle downlane. When the lane starts to dry out, and you need to open up your angles the Supra is the ball to go to. I will be using this ball a lot in tournaments when I need to get left and open up my angles to the friction but still have enough downlane motion to get the corners out. David Hooper Jr, Motiv Staff
