[Music] hey motivation Nick Parr here with you today in Grand Rapids Michigan at Spectrum Lanes introducing two new top Thrills we've actually got a solid and a hybrid this time they both use a version of the new turmoil xp2 we're really excited about these new covers on these entry-level performance balls they're going to be a step up from what we you know you probably had originally with
the top drill or even before that with the ascent line or freestyle so if we're just going to go over all four of the different shapes that you're going to see out on the bottom level of our ball guide so you've got the thrill solid the thrill hybrid the Pearl and then the super rally all right so typical layout on this is going to be 55 by five and a half by 35 and that's what I've done on all four of the balls today so you're just going to see the variation of what the cover and the cores do compared to each other the solid is much more controllable I'm able to throw it to the friction and know that it's not going to be overly strong off the pattern or and something that I can really control down
Lane with the hybrid is going to allow me to open up my angles a little bit more and maybe when the solid's a little too early and all that that oil in the front has gotten really depleted I can go to this hybrid and still get it through that that muddy part in the front and have it store enough energy for the down Lane motion foreign much straighter it's going to allow me to be closer to the friction because it is a cleaner cover and it's a little bit smoother overall compared to the new covers and then a rally which is going to allow
me to really get further left and open up the lane but I definitely need more oil in the front part of the lane for using a rally compared to these top throws [Music] today

Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed that the Motiv Top Thrill Hybrid occupies a practical middle ground within entry-level performance offerings. On a depleted oil pattern typical of medium-light conditions, independent reviewers observed that the hybrid coverstock allowed bowlers to open up their angles effectively compared to the solid version of the same core. The hybrid’s reactive hybrid cover generated sufficient backend motion to drive through the fronts of the lane even after oil had broken down significantly, making it viable when earlier-reacting solids would transition too soon. The symmetric core design paired with this coverstock produced motion that was noticeably cleaner and smoother than comparable performance balls, enabling controlled angle adjustments without sacrificing pin action.
Direct comparison testing showed the hybrid’s performance window sits between more controllable solid-cover options and aggressive pearl-cover designs. While the solid Top Thrill allowed tighter friction-line play with predictable, earlier energy release, the hybrid retained enough energy downlane to maintain scoring consistency as lane conditions transitioned. Testers noted the hybrid required less fresh oil in the front part of the lane compared to more aggressive pearl-cover counterparts, making it more forgiving on heavier house patterns. The ball’s entry-level price point combined with this performance flexibility suggested meaningful value for bowlers looking to upgrade from basic equipment without overcommitting to higher-end reactive technology.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Top Thrill Hybrid works best for recreational and early-intermediate bowlers seeking a step up from entry-level equipment without the complexity of multiple specialty balls. Those who bowl primarily in house conditions on medium to medium-light oil patterns—where conditions break down noticeably during a session—will appreciate this ball’s adaptability. It’s ideal for bowlers who want cleaner, more controllable motion than pearl covers provide but don’t need the early reaction of solid covers when conditions freshen.
This ball is also well-suited for bowlers who throw from straighter angles and want to gradually increase their angle options as they improve. The hybrid’s balance of control and backend energy means newer players won’t fight the ball’s motion, while developing bowlers can experiment with different release angles without radical lane transitions. At its price point, it represents a practical choice for someone ready to invest in performance bowling without purchasing multiple balls for different oil patterns.
