Radical Revenge Solid Review
The Radical Revenge Solid pairs the Sneak Attack core with solid cover for early hook and predictable control on medium to heavy oil. Watch the review.
We've all heard the phrase revenge is sweet. Now Radical launches revenge in two flavors. Phil Cardinale here to introduce the all new Radical Revenge line. The Revenge line is a replacement for the very popular and successful [music] Sneak Attack line. The Revenge has an RG of 2.54 and a total differential of .036, making it an ideal control mid performance ball. We've also added DynamiCore to increase the coefficient of restitution, resulting in a higher
strike percentage. The Revenge uses the same core as the Sneak Attack, but we have improved the performance by adding the industry leading HK22 [music] cover. These improvements add a piece to the Radical lineup that helps fill out your league or tournament bag. As always, we are featuring two distinctly different layouts to show the versatility of the Revenge. Layout A is a max flip layout [music] and layout D is a short pin or control layout.
I'm sure you want to know what the oil pattern is. Easy, that's the pattern. ThrowBot allows us to mimic any bowler in the world, so we invented our own to best show off our products. Okay, it's time to meet our crew. Meet Britney Spears, a low speed low rev player who loves playing second arrow. Mark Wahlberg is our resident stroker. He's usually the lone survivor when competing on the lanes. Jose doesn't need any pharmaceutical assistance to string strikes and knock
the pins out of the park. Our rev monster is Rudy Revs. His name says it all. Britney Spears is a low speed low rev player and a short pin drilled Revenge allows this type of player to keep their angles closed and create more area. The solid Revenge has a bit more overall hook. It has more down lane motion, a greater entry and impact angle, and is ideal if there is more volume. The pearl version
offers a bit more length, ideal when the lanes hook more so you can stay in your comfort zone. The max flip drilling for Britney shows more overall hook in both the solid and the pearl. With both balls we see more down lane motion, a stronger hook power, and more continuation. The pearl version, as would be expected, has a sharper motion off the spot. When the impact angle exceeds the entry angle, you know the ball is continuing through the pins.
Mark Wahlberg is a stroker. If you throw it like Mark with the control drillings, you are still going to get plenty of hook from both the pearl and the solid version. As you can see, the pearl version has more violent down lane motion, crossing more boards, and has more continuation. Using a max flip drilling, Mark gets 24 boards of total hook from the solid Revenge, a greater hook power, as well as a significantly greater entry angle.
The pearl version with the max flip drilling covers less boards and has a sharper response to friction than the solid. Power players like Jose Can Strike really get plenty of response from a Revenge pearl. For Jose, the pearl is better on this pattern than the solid, and the numbers show the difference across the board. The pearl version offers a bit more length, ideal when the lanes hook more
so you can stay in your comfort zone. Now with the max flip drilling, we get a whole new story. The solid Revenge really shines with more total hook and more back end boards covered. But the pearl version, as expected, shows more continuation. For Rudy Revs, the Revenge offers power and control. While a max flip drilling,
well that's what it does. It max flips. Look at that recovery and power. If you want revenge, then get to your pro shop and get the Revenge. You can get the sweet taste of revenge and your opponents will know who they shouldn't be messing with. At Radical, we solve problems so you can be successful and enjoy the game. Look for the Revenge solid and pearl at a pro shop near you. Wow, that's radical.
Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed the Radical Revenge Solid to be a smoother, more controllable reactive solid that rewards bowlers with good fundamentals and proper lane knowledge. Independent reviewers observed that the ball’s defining characteristic is its manageable hook potential—it tracks predictably down the lane without the aggressive angular motion some bowlers expect from a reactive coverstock. On the house shot test pattern, the ball demonstrated consistent midlane motion and a controlled backend reaction, though reviewers noted that success required positioning the ball into friction zones rather than playing straighter angles. The symmetric core design (RG 2.544, differential 0.036) produces the expected low flare potential, making this a platform built for precision rather than recovery.
Surface preparation proved critical to unlocking the ball’s performance window. Testing showed measurable differences between the factory 500/1500 Crown compound finish and a sanded 2000-grit surface, with the sanded version producing notably stronger hook into the friction area and more aggressive pin carry. Reviewers observed that this ball rewards controlled throw speed and reads lane transitions well when given adequate surface friction—it becomes noticeably straighter with factory polish, making it a two-surface option for different oil conditions. The Radical Revenge Solid performed competitively on fresh house oil patterns when bowlers committed to their line and allowed the ball to track through the appropriate part of the lane rather than forcing it to the edge.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Radical Revenge Solid is built for intermediate to advanced bowlers who understand lane play and aren’t looking for a ball that compensates for poor shot execution. This is a tour-level ball in the truest sense—it’s smooth and predictable, making it ideal for bowlers with repeatable release mechanics who want to trust their equipment rather than fight it. It works well for players transitioning from entry-level reactive solids or for those who’ve developed the consistency to hit their target boards consistently. The ball shines for anyone bowling medium-heavy oil house shots or sport patterns where controlled motion and precision matter more than angular aggression.
Bowlers should approach this ball knowing they need friction to unlock its potential. It’s not a “throw anywhere” ball; rather, it’s a specialist tool for bowlers who’ve progressed past needing a ball to save their mistakes. The dual-surface capability (factory finish for heavier oil, 2000 grit for fresh or house shots) adds value for league bowlers managing multiple lane conditions throughout a season. If you’re looking for a workhorse that helps you develop better fundamentals through feedback and consistency, the Radical Revenge Solid delivers. If you need a ball that creates revolutions on its own or plays straighter as a failsafe, look elsewhere.
