Storm Electrify Solid Review
While no longer in production, the Storm Electrify Solid remains a solid option on the used market for bowlers seeking a controllable reactive ball for lighter oil conditions. Its smooth motion and predictable backend make it ideal for recreational and entry-level competitive play.
what's going on guys welcome back to the channel on today's video we're going to be reviewing a ball that i'm very very excited for because i've been liking these lower performance solids the storm electrify solid if you guys like this video and you want to see more videos like this make sure to hit that like button subscribe hit that notification bell and if you like this jersey or any of the jerseys in any of my videos you can go to coolwig.com use my promo code motivlue10 that'll get you 10 off your entire order so let's start with the tech on this electrify solid the first
thing i want to talk about is the scent weirdly enough it's not part of the tech but it's frosted cinnamon and the cinnamon scent is very strong on this ball so if you like cinnamon you're gonna love the scent i don't like cinnamon so it's a little strong for me so let's get into the real tech inside the electrify solid is the circuit core which in 15 pounds has an rg of 2.51 and a max differential of 0.030 so a relatively high rg a very
medium-ish differential lower end of medium differential so i'm not expecting a whole lot of flare out of this ball then the cover is the reactor solid cover stock that comes out of box at a 1500 polished finish and then with the layout as always on all of my symmetrical balls it's 50 by four and a half by 30. now i lay them all out the same way so that any video you go to if it's a symmetrical ball you at least know that it's the exact same layout then the color on this is a three tone red which looks like a little bit of
wine a little bit of orange a little bit of red i like the look of it and i hope it rolls half as good as it looks on the lanes because i'm very excited about this ball there's going to be a link in the description where you can order your very own electrify solid or anything bowling related supporting bowlersmart through my link directly supports me it lets them know that i sent you and it keeps these videos going so guys i would super appreciate it if you use that link let me know down below in the comments
if you guys have an electrify solid or if you threw any of the other electrifies the pearl or the hybrid and which one is your favorite and why i'm very curious to know if you guys the people who follow me like these entry performance level balls i'm gonna take this on the lane so we can see what this electrify solid is all about that last shot rolled pretty forward for being polished
[Music] all right let's get this one up the lane again see what happens
so those first five shots with this electrify solid were very interesting because when i got the ball going up the lane it looked like it got into a roll very forward in the back part of the lane now i don't know if that's because of the color swirls or or what it is but when i got the ball going up the lane it rolled very forward in the back part but then the two shots where i got them going a little bit further right it looked like it flipped a little bit more i don't know if it was operator error
or the colors or or the ball but as we progress through this video it'll be interesting to see if that continues to be the trend where when i get it going more up the lane it rolls a little bit more forward and the opposite when i try to come around it and loop it a little bit but we're going to keep moving left throughout this video the moves are going to be a little bit smaller because this is a much lower performance ball that was a pretty good shot
so it definitely doesn't like oil so let's feed it to the friction so so that shot in the group there that i missed left
really tells me that the cover on this ball well i missed left and it just sat there and went through the pins that tells me that the cover on this is significantly weaker than the cover that's on the hyped hybrid that i reviewed last episode the hyped hybrid when i get missed it in the oil it still wanted to pick up a little bit not a whole lot so that tells me that this reactor solid is a little bit weaker than the cut than the vtc hybrid that's on the hyped hybrid but the one thing i did like and i will
say is that when i threw this ball into the friction it really came off it nice it didn't bounce off it like maybe like a trend two would for example but it was very nice and continuous off the friction so the one big question i have right now or the two big questions i have right now is one what's going to happen when i start to move left are my angles going to have to be super huge or i'm going to 2a10 and then the second question i have is what is this going to look like with surface because i think it's going to look
really really good with surface so let's keep chasing this left see what happens if i have to make these huge huge angles and if i do these huge angles is it going to come around the corner that's the question that i have hopefully right now we're going to find out some answers let's get back on the lanes
oh nice run all right let's throw a better shot than the last one here or not oh i'm gonna try to get this one in a little and see
so the shot to really pay attention to from those last five was that last one where i said i was going to try to keep it in a little bit because on the shots where i got it going right it really like really boomed off the spot and i think that has to do more with my ball speed coming down as i went left maybe it's a little suss but that shot that i got it in into the oil it looked really good it wasn't very boomy it looked very predictable hopefully it'll be something that's very
repeatable as well because like i always tell you guys the most important thing in bowling and finding a way to score is the ability to repeat shots it's not your ball speed it's not the rev rate when you look at guys like norm duke his rev rate is relatively low in the grand scheme of things but his ability to repeat is second to none which is why even now in his career he's still winning still a threat every single time he laces them up so let's get back on the lanes i'm going to move a little bit further left and i think for the duration of the video i'm
going to try to keep my angles a little bit more shut down and not really sending it into the friction but in the back of my head i know that if i miss right that there is going to be some friction there is going to be some forgiveness oh [Music]
hook push a lot so i've come to a pretty deadly realization right now on the lanes armed with the knowledge that if i miss left it'll sit there because the cover's weak and then armed with the knowledge that if i miss right there's enough friction and the cover is responsive enough that it's going to recover it made it very very easy to
strike and what i mean by that is like i feel like if i miss three or four right it'll it'll hook and strike if i miss three or four left like i did that last shot it's just gonna sit there and man it really frees up that swing with that knowledge so now i'm going to move a little bit further left again and again i'm going to continue to keep my angles a little bit tighter because i don't really want to boom it down lane and we're going to see if it's still going to be able to handle even more oil as we traverse into the really deep part of the lane and then we'll get into some
sort of a versatility test with this electrified solid got that right oh
so i need to figure out a way to recreate that state of mind where knowing that i have hooked to the right hold to the left and just recreate that swing because everything in my game these last like 10 shots have felt really really good and i think it's because i know i know that if i miss left it it has a really high
really high chance of strike and if i miss right i know that it's going to bounce and it's going to go through the pins so i got to find a way to recreate that state of mind and for my physical game because it's looking really really good i'm not going to continue to move left because i'm already pretty far left i'm going to move back right to like a spot on the lane where i think the electrify solid will look really really good and let's get back on the lanes and then after that we'll get into the versatility test
oh all right let's get this going a little bit more right it seems as though when i'm playing a little straighter like i am here that it likes me to feed it into the friction a little more so that last shot there when i said that when i'm playing a little bit
straighter it likes to go into the friction i think it's a very important thing to remember like as i move left i can keep it into the oil a little bit longer but once i move right and i'm closer to the friction if i miss left i'm missing into some friction which is why it's not going to look as good when i keep it tighter when i'm trying to play the track area when i'm in the track area which for those of you who don't know the track area is like 8 9 10 11 12 that part of the lane is the part that gets used up the most
on all these house shots all these bowling centers so when i'm trying to play the track area i definitely needed to create a little bit more angle so now we're going to get into the versatility test where i'm going to throw three shots from three different zones so that we can see if this electrify solid is going to be versatile or not zone 1 is 15 then 25 then 35. zone 1 really bounced zone 2 should look really good then
all right last shot of the day let's make it a good one here so i definitely was not expecting zone one to look as bad as it did i mean there's so much friction i was told that they changed the house shot here at suncoast a couple days ago and i'm definitely seeing a lot of friction to the right so when i try to play zone one
i mean even with a ball as weak as this electrify solid it wanted to pick up at my toes zone two it didn't look too good going through the pins but that's definitely a part of the lane that this ball looks really good from and then zone three it looked really really good like i said that knowledge of knowing that it's gonna hook if i miss right it's gonna sit if i miss left ends up making it like a really good thing so until next time guys
Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed that the Storm Electrify Solid performs as an entry-level reactive solid designed for oil-heavy lane conditions. Independent reviewers observed the ball’s behavior across multiple shot zones on a house shot pattern with varying oil distribution. On the polished 1500-grit finish, the Electrify Solid demonstrated a notably weak cover—the Reactor Solid coverstock showed significantly less bite in heavy oil compared to higher-performance reactive solids. When the ball was left in the deepest oil, it rolled forward and continuous without aggressive motion, requiring bowlers to feed it into the friction zone to generate adequate hook. The high RG (2.51) and low-to-medium differential characteristics meant minimal track flare, allowing for more predictable backend motion once the ball reached friction.
The testing exposed an interesting duality in the Electrify Solid’s forgiveness profile. Missing right toward the friction produced reliable recovery with strong hooking action, while missing left deeper into oil resulted in the ball sitting down with minimal correction—a characteristic that actually simplified shot execution once understood. When bowlers threw from tighter angles with moderate entry into the friction zone, the ball’s response was smooth and repeatable. However, zone testing showed inconsistent results: the ball struggled in very friction-heavy areas (zone 1, near the breakpoint at 15 boards), performed adequately in mid-lane oil (zone 2), and excelled when given room to roll (zone 3, deeper into the lane). Surface adjustments were not explored during testing, suggesting potential opportunity to enhance overall performance.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Electrify Solid is ideal for bowlers still building fundamentals or those seeking an affordable entry into reactive coverstock bowling. House bowlers on heavily oiled patterns who struggle with ball motion in premium equipment will find this ball’s weak cover and predictable motion easier to control and repeat. It’s particularly suited for bowlers who benefit from knowing their miss areas—right-side misses offer forgiveness, left-side misses offer clear feedback—creating a forgiving learning environment.
This ball is not recommended for advanced bowlers seeking versatility or higher scoring potential, nor for dry-oil house conditions where its weak cover will provide insufficient traction. It works best in hands of bowlers still developing shot repeatability and consistency, where the Electrify Solid’s straightforward motion characteristics reward good fundamentals without punishing minor execution errors.
The Pros
- • Excellent length through the front part of the lane
- • Smooth, controllable motion for lighter oil conditions
- • Good option for bowlers transitioning from plastic to reactive
The Cons
- • Limited hook potential due to low differential
- • Not suitable for heavy oil conditions

Bowlers Say
Bowlers say the Electrify Solid excels on light oil, burned-up house shots, and dry conditions with its smooth, predictable reaction. The polished cover provides clean front-end with controlled backend motion, making it ideal for straighter angles and tournament play. Some find it stronger than expected and prefer taking off the polish for more control.

Storm Product’s new ball in the Electrify Series is the brand new Electrify Solid! This ball features the Reactor Solid Reactive Coverstock with some polish added wrapped around that Circuit Core seen in the Electrify Series! My Electrify Solid is drilled pin over my Bridge with the CG kicked! What I really love about this ball so far is it allows me to play straighter angles on the fresh lane conditions without it reading the lane super early! When you need to control the lane people tend to throw urethane or very strong balls this electrify solid will give you that smooth motion down lane but that polish will allow it to get through the front part of the lane! This ball should be in everyone’s bag who bowls tournaments for the Fresh Lane conditions! Head over to your local Pro Shop on 10/29/21 and get yours!

The red ball is here and it is good! The Electrify Solid closes out this lower end Storm line of bowling balls. By low end I mean less overall hook than the high performance balls, but this one still finishes great on the back end. I compared the Electrify Solid to the Hustle Camo - one of my favorite balls out right now - and it gave me more overall hook and a little extra hook down lane. I’ve gotten to practice with the Electrify Solid for a few days now, and it worked great for me on both the fresh house shot and one that had games on it. If you love the Hustle series or the Burners, this ball will give you a great compliment to help you keep striking! Layout: 3-1/2" x 45 at box surface The Electrify series is back this time with the Reactor Solid coverstock finished at 1500 polished. The polish on this solid cover gives it more skid/flip qualities then you would technically see in a solid coverstock that's traditionally dull. I drilled this ball with a 3-1/2" pin from my axis to handle my typical house shot on the fresh. I tend to be more speed dominant with my release so I tend to look for balls to slow down enough in its skid phase. When I first used this ball, I was amazed with the backend shape it gave me. It was certainly unexpected as it was much more angular than anticipated. Not only was I able to use this on the fresh, but the ball never stopped continuing as I bowled in game 2 and 3. It was pretty refreshing to see a middle performance ball continue that well for so long. Taking the polish off the coverstock for a 2000 surface helped me make the ball a little more controllable and have smoother backend motion as I originally expected the ball to do. This ball brings a lot of performance for its price point and really shows off going down the lane. Comparative to the Electrify Hybrid, the Solid actually gave me more angle in the backend and was usable for a longer period of time. I would tend to use the solid on medium volume oil house patterns or medium to shorter sport patterns. Adam Chase Storm Staff

70x5x50 pin is in my middle finger at 3000 finish. This ball compliments the hypes perfect for me. When the hypes get a little too strong on the backend the electrify solid is great. The electrify is cleaner down lane for me compared to my hustle camo. Kris mueller 900 global staff

Electrify Solid Cover: REAC TOR 1500 Polished Core: Circuit Core RG: 2.51 Dif. 0.031 I have been really looking forward to the New Electrify solid. I been looking for a ball I can ball down to on the burn or when the conditions are dryer. I drilled the ball with my normal layout 4x4x2 (45x4x30 with dual angles). I didn’t want a shiny solid, so I hit it will 3000. I have been really impressed with his ball. I called in my baby Phaze 2. The Electrify solid has the motion I like. It is smooth with a strong backend motion. It has the rounded shape that I like. I am more of a stroker style of player, and this ball will allow me to move or stay in the same position when I feel I am getting too deep, I can switch and play the same line. The Electrify Solid gets through the fronts well and doesn’t jump or seem to overreact on the backend. This will be a great addition to any arsenal for those looking for a ball to play on the burn or dryer conditions and will make a great ball for those just getting started in the sport. This is a great performance ball for the price point.
